Gabby stood waiting at the front desk of precinct 21. Why she was there terrified her although she tried not to outwardly show it. The past few weeks she had gotten this creepy feeling, in the beginning she thought it was paranoia that was warping her mind. Losing her friend through work she thought she had seen Shay a few times on the street but she knew it wasn’t real. A few weeks passed and the feeling of being watched didn’t leave her, even when she passed it by Sylvie at their apartment neither of them could place it.
Usually she would have gone to Antonio but given everything she wanted to be sure that she wasn’t actually crazy herself. Then she saw them, the ball cap and glasses with the hood. At first it was outside the apartment a few days a week, chatting on the phone or jogging past. Then came the fire’s she attended, sure there were always going to be gawkers but this felt different to her. She had taken a few shaky photo’s but nothing she could say was definite which was why she was stood in the police precinct.
Sergeant Platt had been kind enough to tell her when Antonio was out working and set her up to see someone about her problem. She had no clue who it would be although she was simply glad that there would be a fix to her problem, imagined or not. She could already feel the hair on the back of her neck stand on end every time she thought about it. Her hands gripped the bag she had with her tightly as she waited to see what would happen next.

CPD K-9 Officer Jason McGuire came out from the locker room with his partner, K-9 Ice. Jason held onto the dog's leash as he walked out into the front desk area, hearing the commanding voice of Sargent Platt informing him to tend to Gabby Dawson. Jason looked over to her when she spoke, then over to Gabby. Ice looked up at Sgt. Platt at the same time as he stood next to Jason. Sgt. Platt eyed the massive dog as Jason spoke to him in German before walking over to where Gabby was. While walking over to her, Jason noticed she had a bag in her hand and seemed on edge about something.
"Ms. Dawson, how can I help you?" he asked once close enough, respect his voice as he said that to her. Ice sat next to him at the same time, sensing that Gabby seemed on edge. Jason wondered what Gabby was here for and how he would be able to help her. He didn't know of what the conversation they would have would lead to for them.

Gabby felt herself jump for a moment as an officer approached her. She smiled and tried to brush off her action thought she wasn’t sure how convincing it had been. How could he help? It was a very good question she thought to herself as wondered just how crazy she was about to sound. Sergeant Platt had been understanding and nice about it though given her brother worked there she wondered if the crazy ramblings of a fire fighter from fire house 51 was just a courtesy or something that would be looked into. Either way she felt better for being there as either she was nuts or someone really was fixated though she didn’t know which one she preferred.
“Hi, well I hope you can.” She said pulling out her phone, “These past few weeks I’ve felt like someone’s watching me, I know that I sound crazy and believe me I feel it but this last week or so I’ve noticed someone hanging around. I took photos.” She said handing her phone across to the officer, “So I wondered if you would be able to help me, I mean at best it’s harmless but at worst... well you know as well as anyone what can happen. They even showed up while I am working which makes me uneasy.”

Jason nodded a bit, then listened to Gabby. It wasn't lost him that she was concerned about what was going on. He looked at the photos, getting a good look at the man who Gabby had snapped the images of. Like Gabby, Jason felt it was nothing, but when she said that this man had shown up while she was on the job got his attention. "I will look into this Ms. Dawson" he said to her honestly as he stood there. He remembered when he was first on patrol and the woman he helped with that came to him about a stalker. That was something he would never forget.
Across town, in a darkened apartment , the man from Gabby's photos was looking at the ones he had of her. He took a puff off his cigarette while looking at the image he had of her at the firehouse. An evil grin came to his face as he picked up a roll of duck tape that he had on the table in front of him. He wouldn't let anything or anyone get in his way, including the CPD. He finished his cigarette, then turned to leave his apartment, tape in hand.

This was a new problem for her, sure she could take practical jokes but this when above and beyond scaring her. This was actually weird and terrifying both at the same time, it was hard enough doing her job but it only made it worse when someone put her off. She hated having to be the one asking for help, she knew it was ridiculous and had she managed to catch up with the person she would have read them the riot act but she felt even if she did it wouldn’t help much. “Thanks, I know I’m a pest but it hasn’t gone away as I hoped it might do.” She said feeling a little better about it.
“So do I need to do anything different? I already change my route to work but I cant control what calls we get and I still have to do my job.” She said wondering if there was anything else she needed to do. Honestly this had to be the worst thing that had happened to her over the years, yes losing her best friend was at the top of the list but not having her to talk it out with put this over the rest.

"You're not a pest Ms. Dawson" Jason said to her honestly. "You did the right thing in coming here, unfortunately not many women take the step that you have." he added while Ice looked at Gabby. The massive dog could sense that something was not right. Jason glanced down to him, then looked back to Gabby when she asked about doing anything different. "Don't make to many changes, that is what this guy wants." he said to her. "But I will say this: I've met the men you work with at 51 and have nothing but respect for your chief and everyone there. Have one of them stay close to you when on a call in case this guy shows up again." he said to her honestly. He had cross paths with Chief Boden once before and knew that he was the kind of guy who wouldn't let anyone harm anyone in under his command.
Meanwhile, Gabby's stalker was walking in the direction of house 51. Jason didn't know at the moment that this guy was looking to kidnap Gabby as his endgame. The guy was thankful that more people were out at this time, making it easier for him to blend in and go unnoticed. As he walked along, he looked at a photo he carried with him of the pretty firefighter before placing it back in his pocket.
(got to make him the opposite of Jason)

Gabby could understand why many people didn’t go to the police, it was an embarrassment to know she felt incapable of looking out for herself. She had spent most of her life being tough and a hot head and now she had to place this mess at the feet of someone else because suddenly the choice was no longer hers. Gabby smiled at the dog that was beside Jason. “Thanks, they are sticking with me so far it just really is annoying.” She replied feeling a little frustrated by it all. “Still I had better get to work, if i’m not changing what I do then I think I will walk from here. It’s not too far and I’m sure one of the guys will be around when I get there.”
She swapped between walking and driving though she figured the exercise would be good for her. Or at the very least take her mind off what was going in, it was really the very last thing she wanted to deal with although she guessed she should be flattered that someone was paying that much attention to her, even if it was completely the wrong kind. “Thank you for this and if there is anything I can do for you just let me know.” She replied smiling feeling a little happier now someone who could maybe do something knew about what was going on.

"You're welcome and will do" Jason said to her in reply. He knew who he should talk to while he was out on patrol. He then spoke to Ice in German before heading back to the desk get the keys for the squad car he would be using. Ice followed him over, looking up to Sgt. Platt. Jason didn't know it, but Sgt. Platt was uneasy about Ice, not knowing if the dog would try to jump up on her or not. After the typical banter between the two, Jason spoke again in German and headed out with Ice.
The stalker soon came upon House 51, stopping far enough away that he wouldn't be seen but close enough that he would be able to watch the place. The guy had a military background , having served in Marine Force Recon. He was an expert in surveillance and hand to hand combat, having training in the marine hand to hand combat system and Filipino martial art of Arnis. He soon saw Chief Bodin, Lts. Casey and Severide and Firefighter Joe Cruz. The four Alpha males of the house he said to himself while watching them.

Gabby smiled and nodded a thanks as she left the relative safety of the precinct. It was a strange feeling having actually told someone who might be able to help her, it wasn’t quiet relief but it was something close to it she thought to herself as she took her usual route to work. She tried not to stare at people who she passed on the street but it was difficult not to. Even when a guy in a ball cap walked a few steps behind she could feel her heart beating out of her chest at the mere thought that this one man could be that man.
Even as she rounded the corner to the same street as the firehouse she couldn’t help but feel uneasy again. It was natural she told herself as she walked along trying to focus on work that day, she was too far away to make a run for the house without her seeming crazy and she didn’t have her running gear on to say she had even jogged to work. Still she carried on until she got to the wall outside the firehouse where she stopped and took a look around to see if she could see anything strange though to her eyes she saw nothing unusual.

Gabby's stalker saw her from his vantage point and smiled a bit. "And now, the woman of the hour." he said softly as he watched Gabby look around. He stayed where he was, not doing anything that would give him away as he watched her. It wasn't lost on the guy that it would be to risky to grab her at the firehouse, he would have to wait until her guard was down and she was alone. He didn't know that Gabby had gone to the police and had talked with one of the city police officers. At the moment, he continued to watch her.
At the same time, Jason was meeting with one of his contacts and asking about the guy from Gabby's photos. Jason had a small network of homeless that he went to for information on different things or about shady people around town. Jason showed them one of the photos he had from Gabby, asking if they had seen a guy like him around. He didn't know the guy was doing surveillance on House 51.

Gabby saw nothing unusual outside the firehouse as she silently cursed herself for being far too paranoid about the whole thing. She half wondered if she had wasted the officer’s time at the precinct and maybe she was just imagining it all. Stress of her job and all might have warped her mind that bend too far and this was the result. Still she had a job to do she thought to herself as she entered the firehouse for the day. Almost immediately Herrmann was after her to clean up out front, she herself had seen little to clean up other than a few leaves but Herrmann was insistent that the front concrete needed washed down.
It was times like those that she hated being a candidate. Clean the concrete that really didn’t seem too bad to her though as soon as she was changed into her fire-fighter gear for the day she was handed the brush and water hose. She was that frustrated by the task she took little notice of what was around her throwing the hose onto the floor near the front entrance of the yard that she had walked through minutes earlier. It had to be punishment for something she thought as she started to sweep up a few leaves here and there.

The man watched her do that, seeing Herrmann bark at her about cleaning out in front of the house. *Shame on you sir for treating her that like that* he said to himself. He snapped a few more photos of Gabby and the house before making his way out of the area, planning out in his mind how he would get Gabby. He didn't know that he would cross paths with Jason and how it would end for him. He was to wrapped up in his plains to get her. While heading out, he activated the portable scanner he carried with him and inserted the headphones, waiting to hear of a call that involved House 51.
At the same time, Jason was finishing up with a traffic stop before getting called to assist on a search of a drug dealer's car. Jason responded and headed over, glancing back to Ice as he drove. Ice looked at him, panting at the same time as Jason spoke to him in German. Ice picked his ears up when Jason did that, then barked softly in reply.

Gabby kept herself busy furiously cleaning the front of the firehouse. She was a candidate not their own personal cleaning staff she told herself though she had watched Mill’s go through the same thing. It was always different when you were on the other side of things which she was getting to know intimately well. She rolled her eyes as Herrmann said she needed to keep going, really was this really worth becoming a fire fighter? She asked herself as she heard the klaxon ring. She listened carefully as Truck 81 was mentioned. She was glad for the distraction as she raced back inside.
Car fire, did people really need to do that any more she asked herself as the truck pulled out of the firehouse. It didn’t take long to come across the blaze as the street suddenly became active with people barking orders as they went about their business trying to put the fire out before it got too out of hand. Gabby didn’t have time to look around as she hooked a second hose up to the fire hydrant as per Herrmann’s slightly less annoying orders than usual. It was about the only time she had left his side that call.

Jason responded to the call when it came over the radio. Upon arriving, he helped keep the crowd back while the firefighters handled the blaze. Ice was next to him as it was a bit warm to leave him in the car. Jason kept his eyes on the crowd, watching for anyone that seemed out of place. He didn't know if Gabby's stalker was around, but he had a feeling that he would show up. Ice kept his eyes on the crowd as well, waiting for the command to chase someone down if it came to that. At the same time, Gabby's stalker was in the crowd that had gathered. He saw Gabby and Herrmann, seething a bit at the way he talked to her. In his mind, no other man should talk to her like that.
While watching the crowd, Jason got a glimpse of a man who seemed off. Jason acted like he didn't see him at first before scanning back. For a moment, the two men stared at each other, each getting the hint about the other. Jason watched as the stalker smiled in a sicking way at him before leaving. Jason gave chase, but the man was gone by the time he and Ice got through the crowd. "Dang it!" he said before calling it in as he walked back to his car with Ice. He looked over to the fire, waiting for them to finish up before talking to Gabby.

Gabby knew Herrmann was only trying to make her into one of the best though at the time it didn’t really feel like it. Somehow to her it felt like the world was on her shoulders and Herrmann was simply adding to an almost unbearable weight. Sure the guys at 51 did their best to keep her mind off what was going on though sometimes it just wasn’t possible. In many ways she was her own worst enemy when it came to getting herself down, oh sure she would fight for another person but then again she could only do as well as she let herself.
It was the annoying part she thought as she fixed up the second hose. There was far more to being a fire-fighter than she had thought and despite thinking she was ready for everything, each day had its own surprises and complications. Especially now. Gabby glanced toward the crowd to see Jason there, she hadn’t told anyone of her recent trip to see him nor had she let on that this entire thing was scaring her every second.
It didn’t take long to bring the fire under control, Gabby was tasking with putting the hoses back onto the engine which she did as she glanced back toward Jason. Surely he had to have something on the guy she thought to herself as Herrmann and the others gathered around the other side of the truck inspecting the burnt out car that they had been called to.
