Jason looked at Gabby when she asked him that. "He is with the other officers who came, who are taking him to central booking." he replied while standing with her as the EMTs finished up. "Want me to take you home?" he asked once they were gone. Jason had a feeling as to the answer he would get, but it didn't hurt to ask. While he stood there, the firefighters who showed up went into the building and cleaned the place up, dismantling the trap with the help of a bomb squad officer.
Back outside, Ice walked over to Gabby and gently pawed at her leg. While he was a trained CPD K-9 and came off as intimidating to many, he was still a bit softy at times and knew when people were hurting. Jason knew it as he watched Ice interact with Gabby. The dog knew that she had been through something traumatic and wanted to help her out. It wasn't the first time Ice had done something like that. Jason remembered the time Ice had comforted a little boy who had gotten separated from his parents while they were at the mall.

Central booking that was good she thought. He was going away far away from her she thought as the EMT’s finished up with her. When Jason mentioned taking her home she didn’t know what to do, she wanted to go home but home was where that guy had been. Home had been where he waited for her and watched her. Maybe the whole thing hadn’t quite sunk in yet but she nodded and then shook her head before nodding again. It felt as if she was completely loosing it and she didn’t quite know where she wanted to be.
When the EMT went to move away Gabby grabbed onto one of them and pointed to Jason. “Check him over because... well just do it because he might be hurt.” She said knowing that he had tackled the stalker and really she didn’t want him to be hurt for something she had caused and wasn’t able to get out of. That was when she felt the paw at her leg, Gabby stared at Ice for a moment before she dropped down to him and hugged him. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” She said as she felt herself start to cry, so much for her it will all be okay mode that ended the moment she should have felt safe and relieved.

Jason went with the EMTs and got checked out. He knew he was okay, but it was protocol for him to get checked over. At the same time, Ice comforted Gabby the best he could. In a matter of seconds he went from fierce police dog to comforter. Ice knew when someone was sad or hurting, something that Jason liked about him, remembering the times the massive dog sat with his and Shani's children when ever they were sad. The EMTs soon finished and released Jason, who went back over to Gabby and Ice. Jason saw Ice as he comforted Gabby while walking over and sitting with them.
At the same time, the other officers got Gabby's kidnapper/stalker to the station and into central booking. They held onto him little tighter and handled him a little rougher given that he had abducted a fellow first responder. No one in the station said anything when they found out, even when the guy protested. The officers soon had the guy booked and in a holding cell, where he would spend the night before going in front a judge.

How anyone could think that Ice was scary she wondered as he hugged the dog. It still surprised her that she had chosen after the entire thing to start to go to pieces but then again she was probably too hot headed to let that guy get to her beyond the fact he was fine with killing her and anyone else who was there. When she saw Jason come over she tried to wipe her eyes as she let go of Ice, nothing like looking like a crazy person she thought as Jason sat with them. She smiled a little as she tried to figure out a way to say thank you.
“I... thank you.” She said as she caught her breath for a moment as she reached out to hug him before her brain seemed to kick in. “You realise that you could have been killed?” She said that at that moment it was a good enough time to probably say thankyou in the strangest way possible. “The guy rigged the door and you tackled him... and thank you but you could have been hurt.” She stated, “What were you thinking and are you okay?” She asked still concerned that he was hurt by the guy.

"I know and I'm okay" Jason said to her in reply, his tone gentle and honest as he said that to her. "John 15:13: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends......Ms. Dawson, the one thing firefighters and cops have in common is risking our lives for others. If someone's life is in danger, then mine doesn't count." he said to her honestly while Ice watched them, staying close to Gabby in case she needed him again. Like Jason, Ice wouldn't hesitate to give his life for someone else.
Back at the station, the officers got Gabby's kidnapper into booking and into a cell. It didn't take long for everyone to find out what this guy almost did to Gabby. It was clear to the others that the guy didn't care that he had been arrested and that he could face the death penalty. Once the guy was in a cell, an officer informed Jason, who nodded a bit, telling him that he would be there soon.

He was okay, she half wanted to make sure for herself but then people knew if they were okay or not. Her starting to go a little crazy about it wasn’t going to change anything she thought as she sat there. Gabby wiped a hand over her face, Jason was right no matter what Fire-fighter or cop they would fight for each other even if they didn’t always get on afterwards. That was the funny side of things, when it counted they were there yet there was usually some kind of issue between the fire department and the police, it just wasn’t right if there wasn’t.
Gabby moved to hug Jason, “Thank you, thank you for all you’ve done.” She said extremely grateful that he had been there for her. “If there’s every anything I can do for you, just let me know.” She said deciding that she really did owe him besides owing him her life to being with. “Thank you.” She whispered trying her best to keep herself under some control and not go back to freaking out over everything again.

"You're welcome Ms. Dawson, but I was just doing what I was trained to do." Jason said to her gently when she said to that to him. Jason was a humble man and never really looked for thanks or recognition in what he did. However, he gently returned the hug that Gabby gave him as Ice watched them do that. The do barked softly as he sat there, causing Jason to pull back and look at him. Ice tilted his head to the side at the same time while watching his handler, then gently pawed at Gabby's leg. "You care for her don't you Ice?" Jason asked the dog, who barked again after Jason said that.
Little did Jason know that Gabby's stalker/kidnapper was planning his escape and revenge on Gabby. He would not let anyone stop him from getting her a second time. When he saw an opening, he over powered the two guards that came to his holding cell, then quickly changed into one of the guard's uniforms before slipping out of the building. It wasn't long before the others knew that the guy had escaped.

Gabby went to hug Ice again as he pawed at her leg, he was a lovely dog and Jason was one very lucky man. “I’ve heard that before but thank you again, trained or not I’m grateful for what you did for me.” She said smiling. It felt good to be on the outside of that building, there had been a moment when she thought it would have been her last few breaths if it hadn’t have been for Jason and Ice. The pair of them were now her guardian angels and she would do anything of either one of them.
She was completely unaware of what was happening at the precinct. To her she was safe now, the entire day was over and even scrubbing a fire truck at that moment would have been welcomed. She would never complain about Herrmann again or be angry or really not watch her own back. That she knew would take some getting over but still that was tomorrows issues. At that moment she was happy that she was safe and that Jason and Ice were okay.

Jason and Ice headed back to the patrol car they came in. As they did, Jason got the call that the suspect had escaped. Jason felt his stomach knot up when he heard the news while looking back to Gabby. Ice sensed that something was up when he looked at Jason. The look on Jason's face gave it away as he looked over to Gabby, the phone still in his hand at the same time. The other officers noticed it and knew what that look ment. With out saying a word, the other officers got to work in searching for the suspect.
At the same time, the suspect, Ryan, made his way to where Gabby lived. He would ambush her there and finish the job. He was hot with pride and anger, two things that would lead to his down fall in the next few moments. For know, Ryan was more concerned with getting payback on Gabby and Jason. He soon came to where Gabby lived and waited for her, his hand resting on the gun he had swiped from the CPD station.

When Gabby watched Jason turn back toward her she knew, there was something wrong. It took her a moment to catch up with the look he gave her, the guy was gone? Gabby froze where she was, she could hardly breathe let alone move as she tried to hide the terror on her face but she made a pretty bad job of it as her eyes flew around the faces there. She made an effort to take a step backward but some how her feet and the rest of her didn’t quite link up at the same time.
Her feet stuck where there were as she fell to the floor with a thud, she wasn’t angry any more or worried just scared. She brought her knees up to her chest as she wrapped her arms around them. This guy just wasn’t going to stop, she wanted to scream but there was barely a whisper that came out of her mouth. Did she go home or stay at someone else’s place and put them in danger. Did she go stay at a hotel but then that was unfamiliar to her and all she wanted was to go home and hide. Hide so no one could find her. With that thought she looked toward Jason, “What do I do?” She asked not sure what she wanted to do let alone what was the right thing to do.

"I'm taking you to a hotel." Jason replied before getting her out of the area and to a hotel that was near Lakeshore Drive. Once there, Jason got her into a room near the top floor. He knew the general manager and the owner of this hotel, knowing it would be a safe place for Gabby to hide until her stalker was caught or other wise stopped. In the room, Ice stayed close to Gabby as Jason double checked everything before returning to Gabby. "Keep this with you" he said, handing Gabby his small Glock 26 that he had as a back up weapon, showing her how to work the small gun.
Back at Gabby's place, her stalker got the feeling she wasn't coming home. He headed out to look for her, not knowing where she had been taken. He would not stop until he found her, unaware that he would cross paths with Jason again and that this time, only one of them would walk away. For now, he was focused on finding Gabby and taking her for his own again, he would not be denied her a second time.

Gabby didn’t argue at all with Jason as he took her to the hotel. In fact she didn’t say much on the way there, why wouldnt this guy just stop? She understood her brother was involved and the guy had lost his sister but then taking her life wasn’t going to change it. Then again given how he looked at her and spoke she doubted he was really human at times let alone thinking in a clear way. She watched as Jason double checked everything in the room, just watching someone do that was enough to scare her because you did it for a reason and her stalker was the reason.
When she was passed the gun and shown how to work it Gabby simply stared at Jason. “I.. wont you need it?” She asked not wanting to take away any gun from him. He had already risked his life once for her and she would rather he lived and a long and happy life rather than getting in the way of her stalker. Gabby glanced toward Ice before looking to Jason. “Jason, you’re going to stay right? You’ll be here, the gun is just to make me feel safe right?” She blurted as she wished that it was all just over.

Jason watched Gabby as she said that to him. "Ms. Dawson, this gun is too keep you safe in case your stalker breaks in." he said to her. Jason never said it, but he hated the city's gun laws and everyone's attitude in general when it came to people owning a gun. Jason kept that to himself as he stood there and watched Gabby after he said that to her. At the same time, he wondered if Antonio ever taught her how to shoot a gun, but this wasn't the time for him to ask. He reminded himself that he had a job to do and couldn't get distracted.
Outside, the stalker was making his way to the hotel. He had that look in his eyes that showed he wasn't going to stop until he had Gabby or was dead. He soon came across the hotel and took a quick look at the place before moving in through the laundry room. Finding the service elevator, he made his way up to the floor he thought Gabby was on. Upon getting off, the guy looked around before walking down the hall.

Gabby didn’t own a gun, she never thought it was a good idea after all her brother was a cop and the sight of a gun sent shivers through her. She saw as a paramedic first hand just what guns and bullets did to people and owning one to her felt wrong somehow. Antonio had taught her to shoot but it was a paper target and she was lucky if she could hit the broad side of a barn. Before she pulled the trigger she would always close her eyes which drove her brother crazy at times. Gabby was well aware that paper could not bleed but something about it didn’t sit right with her.
“He doesn’t even know where I am and I cant shoot.” She said holding the gun though more like she wasn’t even going to use it. “Do you think he will find me again?” She asked sure she wasn’t about to like the answer to that. She was in a hotel room with a gun and a police officer and Ice. There was a stalker somewhere out there after her who had managed to escape custody. This was like no other day in her entire life she thought. “Jason, be careful please... the guy’s dangerous.” She said quietly, yeah he would already know the guy was dangerous she thought trying not to kick herself for saying things that they all knew already.

Jason got the hint when Gabby told him that. He reached over and gently took the gun from her. "I have a strong feeling he will....which is why I'm going to stay with you instead." he replied before checking the gun and holstering it. After doing that, he called the head of security for the hotel and asked if they had seen the suspect. Jason was informed that they haven't but were keeping an eye out. Jason thanked him, then hung up and looked at Gabby. "This will be over soon." he said to her honestly, though in the back of his mind, he knew what he would have to do in order to stop this guy.
What he didn't know was that the stalker was on the floor below them. He had ambushed one of the housekeepers and questioned her about Gabby. Not getting anywhere with her, the stalker left the petrified woman tied up in an empty hotel room before continuing on with his search. He didn't know that he and Jason would soon get into another knock down, drag out fight that would end in his death. At the moment, all he cared about was finding Gabby.
