Steven nodded, best advice he had ever given someone. Exploding boats were bad news, Chicago Police and exploding boats, worse news. “Hey, it’s all about learning on your first day right.” Steven joked grinning as he laughed and nodded. “Cars sure, houses especially and sure I mean anything ex is a good target. Then you can just ask fifty one to be really slow in responding to make sure it’s toast.” Steven added figuring that might actually be a good idea.
The crazy ex he had worked for CPD so burning her car, it was liable to start a war but then he was hardly going to be the only suspect. “Aww thanks, looks like half the city is in for it then with us two.” He replied smirking. “Nope, none of that so does that mean extra biscuits or something?” Steven laughed as he nodded, yeah he needed to do something to make up for that but what Emily and Isla never knew, would never be able to hurt him.
He was a guy who had no idea what was in his sisters heads, yes he over thought everything back then but reading a diary was a quick an easy way to figure out what he had missed. Teenage girls, it was an easy way to work out whom to kill as well. “It’s not that bad you know, I bet half this station as done it at some point.” Steven offered glancing around as he headed off to get a shower and change of clothes. The shift had been... well squishy carpet was all anyone needed to know about.

"Extra biscuits, sure." Grinning, Kelle nodded, "and lots of gravy with sausage!" She gave him a toss of her head as she entered the women's dorm, where it only took her a couple minutes to change into her 'civvies', jeans and a tee shirt, then grab her pack and head out. She was exhausted, there was no doubt on that, but in the big picture she had actually enjoyed the shift, now that it was over, although she could have done without the intrigue and interrogations. Still, for now it seemed like Steven was going to be a fun partner, and he'd be able to teach her some things to help her improve her skills. And she was having a good time teasing the others in the station. To that end, she stood in the hall and waited for Steven so they could walk out arm-in-arm. Steven Hudson,

Steven smirked as he listened about the biscuits. Yeah it was true he liked his food as he went into the male changing rooms. Making sure to grab change into his street clothes, the same ones he had worn to work that morning or yesterday now. The day had been, he was unsure the word for it as he changed into his jeans and a tshirt as he threw on his jacket and grabbed his bag.
It appeared that life was going to be good to him at work for a change, a person he could talk to and one that seemed to actually like working with him. It was a big ask for sure but then Steven knew he could be a lot to handle some days. Today had been a test and Kelle was still there at the end of it which made a change from the usual cut and run he had to deal with.
At least this shift Boden could sleep sound on the fact he should have the same partner next shift for a change. Walking into the hallway he saw Kelle waiting as he grinned. “Couldn’t stay away for that long?” He teased lightly as he carried his bag. It was funny the things he had beyond several spare changes of street clothes and work clothes. There were days when ten clean tops were never enough and today, the explosion and the carpet he was unsure what he needed to clean himself of first. Carpet squish or the smell of explosions.

"Well, you know," Kelle quipped as they headed to the parking area, "we have a few days before we're back, and that's such a looooong time, I might forget that pretty face and charming personality!" She laughed, then added, "Besides, who knows what your sister will do to you when she finds out about the diary thing...you might be dead after that!" Shrugging, she added, "No one is going to tell her, though, right? Hey, I don't have your number, yet...and maybe your sister's too, you know, just in case I can't get hold of you?" Batting her eyes, she smiled sweetly. Steven Hudson

“Aww am I really that forgettable now, I mean here was me thinking you were super excited to be working with my genius?” He teased, Steven knew better than to think people liked him instantly. He could grow on people if given half a chance though given his taxi service to a hospital he hardly had the time to do that. Steven winced hearing what his sisters might do if they found out about his diary ready habit.
If they had kids themselves then he was sure they would understand why he had done what he did. It was survival for a guy that never needed to know what went through his sister’s minds to a point. Then it became needed and he had no idea where to start. “At least someone knows why I might not turn up for work, so just in case. Kelle, it’s been a blast.” Steven said smirking as he nodded to her.
“Oh you don’t need my number or my sisters, trust me I’ll be here. Nothing’s stopped me yet unless my sisters do take a hatchet to me... then I might need a day off.” He added thoughtfully as he grinned, “Besides my number is closely guarded secret in the world. No matter how sweet you smile at me.” He added with a grin as he laughed.

"Aww...all right, but don't say I didn't warn you!" Kelle grinned and tossed him a saucy look. "And heck, if they hatchet you up that's just all the more of you to love, right?" Her grin widened. "Oh, yeah, that's my partner...yep, that's him all over!" Laughing, she glanced over at him as she got to her car. "It was a blast, pun intended, despite everything and you'd better be prepared, because I have a ton of stupid rookie questions for you and I plan to ask them all!" It would be a waste not to pick his brain when she could, after all, this job was only a small fraction 'book-learning' and the majority was on the job experience, and if you had a chance to learn from a seasoned medic it was stupid not to! "So, I really do hope your sisters don't kill you just yet...I mean, once I start to despise you, it's all right, but for now..." she shrugged, "it's cool." Steven Hudson

Steven laughed seeing the saucy look he got, “Aww it’s not to know that you’d still love me though. I mean sure I have that affect on people but if I’ve got it down to day I really should be up there with Casanova.” He teased as he nodded. “Spare no expense on the hazard bags though; I only go with the best in life.”
He could imagine just what his sisters would do if they found out what he had done. In his defence they had written it down themselves so what did they expect. It was like a password, if you wrote it down then you were asking for it to be stolen. It was his new running defence on the matter at least. “Oh you go and ask those rookie questions, no question is a stupid question unless I tell you it is.” Steven said grinning, “Just don’t say anything to do with how many calls there or and never ever say it’s quite.”
Another unwritten rule, as soon as someone said those words the world would go crazy. Just like the full moon affect, some believed there was no such thing. People would do stupid things no matter what the day but he always believed there was something in the tale. A full moon meant a busy shift and people acting more stupid than normal.
“Well you keep that plan to despise me; you’ve made it through one shift with me so you’re doing pretty well so far. Usually at this point I’m looking for a new partner.” Steven said in a joking tone though it was generally a truth so far as that went. People and partners never really stuck with him, either they heard about him in advance or just found out he could be a nightmare to work with at times. Either way he made it a full shift with the same person so things were looking up.

"Oh, the 'Q' word!" She made a gesture of zipping her lips and throwing away the key. "I swear never to say that! No sense poking the EMS gods!" Yes, it was an urban myth, but eight-zillion medics, firefighters and cops couldn't be wrong, not to mention all those ED nurses and docs! Then she frowned. "So, you're usually abandoned by this time? Good thing we have some days off so I can go see a shrink and find out what's wrong with me." She laughed and crossed her eyes, making a face. "I might need to be on meds or something!" She laughed again as she stopped by her 'classic' Ford pick-up -- 'Classic' meaning old and battered in this case -- and held out her hand. "Thanks for making me feel welcome...and death by chocolate covered bacon...and boat explosions. See ya in a few days!" Steven Hudson
