Shani grinned as she shrugged her shoulders at him. “Well if you want to say no then that is up to you, but like you said I am charming.” She said as she winked at him before smiling again seeing that he was looking forward to it. Following him around the exhibit it was nice to be able to see things and do something that he enjoyed too. Time for them was rare but when it was there she would never swap it for anything else.
While they walked out Shani giggled as he kissed her behind her ear. She gazed at Jason for a moment when he spoke Hebrew again, “I love you.” She replied feeling his hand still around hers. She knew he went out of his way to show her he loved her and she never doubted it at any point. She loved the gifts he left for her now and again and the words he spoke as she leaned into him. “I just want to thank you for being my reason to look forward to the next day.” She almost whispered to him, “You are the best thing that has ever happen to me.” With that said Shani leaned over and kissed his cheek again.

Jason smiled a little when Shani said that and kissed him. "You are most welcome....my charming Jewish queen." he said to her in reply after she kissed him. It was clear by the way he spoke that he met what he said to her. Jason put his arm around her while leading her away from the exhibit, kissing her on top of her head at the same time. He couldn't see himself with any other woman.
Jason knew that he was blessed to have Shani as his wife. He prayed for her everyday and at the same time, never removed his wedding ring, unless he was showering, working around the house or the like.

Just to see him smile, she thought silently. To see him smile and be happy was worth anything to her as she blushed slightly. When he led her away from the exhibit there was no ones arms she felt safer in than his. She smiled knowing she was the luckiest woman around. “If I’m a queen then you are my handsome Irish American King, a knight in shining armour or what is that book...” She said never imagining anyone better than Jason. If there was a fairy tale then she was sure he was in it because she knew she was lucky to be with him. “Yes a Mr. Darcy of my world.” She said with a smile.
She prayed every day that he would be home safe, that there would be no harm come to him or the children and the wedding ring and engagement ring never left her finger unless she was at work or doing house hold chores. Losing those two things would be something she could never forgive herself for.

"Pride & Prejudice" Jason said to her gently when she made the comment about Mr. Darcy. "And you are my Elizabeth Bennet." he added after kissing her cheek, referencing one of the female characters from the same novel. After kissing her, Jason put his arm around Shani while walking with her. It was clear that Jason cared for her deeply and would do anything to keep her happy.
"Anything else you want to see while we are here?" Jason asked after a few moments, looking over to her as he asked that. He was up for anything she replied with, knowing that they still had time before the kids would be on their way home from school.

“I think you brood less than he did and you are far more honest about your feelings.” She said with a smile as he kissed her and placed his arm around her. It was easy to see that the cared about her, Shani never had cause to doubt it at any moment in her life. He was the best thing to ever happen to her along with the children and there was no denying that she would do anything for him. All he ever had to do was ask and she would do it without reservation.
“You mean apart from you in the Egyptian costume?” She asked innocently as she looked at him and fluttered her eyelashes ever so slightly though she knew what he meant. “This is entirely your day off so you can pick? I asked for Egypt and got it, where would you like to see here or do?” She asked as she wrapped an arm around him.

Jason looked at Shani when she did that, then smiled a little before scooping her up in his arms and carrying her out to the truck. "Well...we could take a quick walk around the park that is near by." he replied while carrying Shani out of the museum. It was clear to those around them that Jason was a loyal and loving husband to Shani. Jason didn't see them as he walked out of the museum while holding Shani close to him.
Once at the truck, Jason gently set Shani down and kissed her after placing his hand on her cheek. He looked her in the eye at the same time. "What is it that makes Israeli women so beautiful?" he asked gently while looking at her.

Shani squealed like a little girl when he scooped her up in his arms as she smiled brightly. Her arm draped across his shoulders while she considered the walk around the park. “That sounds lovely and romantic too.” She said still with the smile on her face while he carried her out of the museum. Shani only had eyes for Jason; anyone else that looked their way had been lost the moment her eyes set upon his face. He was loving and loyal, her best friend and the best husband she could have dreamed of.
She felt her feet firmly on the ground at the truck but she still felt like she could have been anywhere with him. Shani leaned into his hand enjoying his touch as she gazed back into his eyes. “I have no idea, I’m just glad you think I’m beautiful.” She said happily as she wrapped her arms around him and leaned into his ear. “What is it that makes Irish American men so handsome? Because I have the best of the bunch right here with me.” She said softly as she kissed his cheek.

Jason smiled a little when Shani kissed him, then looked at her. "Well...we are family oriented, loyal, honest and will drop everything to defend those around us." he said in reply to her question before kissing her. After doing so, he opened the passenger door for her. "The same could be said about Israeli women." he said off the cuff in reply to his comment that he made a few moments ago.
He appreciated the fact that they both came from cultures that championed family. Jason hoped that their children would understand that as they grew up. It was clear by the look on his face that he knew he was blessed and that he did his best to keep Shani happy.

Shani nodded finding no reason to argue any point with him as they were all correct in her mind. “Yes we would and there isn’t one thing I would change about that.” She stated, if anything she loved him more because of it. Family was a way of life to her, loyal and honest were key and defending those she cared for was all in a days work. Shani smiled as she slid into the passenger seat of the car. “I still mean it for you though, there isn’t anyone better.” She said honestly.
It was one thing with her that she held dear, what she said she meant and there was no changing that about her. It might not always be what people wanted to hear but she was okay about that. Shani smiled at him as she leaned across the driver’s seat to push his door open some before she straightened herself up again. “Do you think the children will understand what family means?” She asked Jason worried that if it was pushed too much the point might be missed.
“Are we going to be sat down for Sunday dinner and be wondering where they are?” She asked not wanting Connor or Phoebe to grow up so quickly. Every day she seemed to blink and they were inches taller or wiser and it felt at times like things were going far too quickly for her liking.

Jason nodded a bit when Shani said that to him. "I do" he said to her honestly while looking at her. "And yes we are sitting down for Sunday dinner" he added while smiling a bit in reply, taking Shani's hand as he said that to her. "Don't worry about Connor and Phoebe, they are smart." he said to her gently as he held her hand in his, looking her in the eye at the same time. If Jason was honest with himself, he worried about the kids not understanding as well, though he was proven wrong time and again by them.
After he said that, Jason leaned over and kissed Shani's cheek. "I love you...my charming Israeli queen." he whispered into her ear after kissing her. As he said that, Jason though back to the first time he spoke like that to Shani, fearing that he would drive her away with what he said.

Shani smiled as he took her hand, she tried not to worry about their children but she could hardly help it as she looked back into his eyes. As adults it was easy to understand what family meant and their background each helped with that as well but Shani worried that keeping them together would push them away when they were older. It was easy to be proven wrong by them but the worry was still there gnawing away at her. “Yes they are, as smart as their father.” She said with a smile.
Jason was wise beyond his years in her eyes, ever since the day they met she had thought that. Despite his age to her he was wise and the one person she could trust in the world for guidance on anything. She giggled lightly when he kissed her cheek, Shani listened to him whisper as she smiled remembering the first time he had said that to her. “I love you too my gorgeous intelligent Irish king.” She said softly, “Ever since the day you said that to me... it feels just like yesterday and you still make me smile.” She said almost grinning ear to ear.
He made her happier than she could ever remember, their similar beliefs regarding family and his honest and trust all made him prefect in her eyes. Jason was the one person she could trust, a confident who she could talk to no matter what it was and above all a friend and a lover. A husband that she appreciated every day and tried to show how much she loved and appreciated him every day too.

Jason smiled when Shani said that to him. He kissed her in reply, then drove them to the place he mentioned. Once there, he parked, then walked around to the passenger side and opened the door for Shani. It wasn't lost on him that he made her happy, loved and appreciated. "If ever when I am not with you, you laugh and carouse without thought, I’ll burn down the rafters above you." he said to her, quoting Israeli poet Hayyim Nahman Bialik.
The words flowed effortlessly from Jason's tongue, something a friend of his told him he had a talent for.

Shani watched out of the window as they travelled to the place he had mentioned. She smiled when he opened the door for her as she got out of the car. Shani appreciated him every day; it was the little things like opening a door for her that made her feel special. The words he spoke seemed to come so easily to him, spoken effortlessly as she smiled listening to him. Poetry had been something she could understand at times and other times it was a little too broad.
She remembered her first poetry class in America when she had completely the opposite answer from what was appropriate. She had no idea if Jason had been in her class that day and to this day she had been too embarrassed to ask. Shani could still hear the tutor asking ‘why is love like an onion?’ then the finger being pointed at her as if she had the answer on the tip of her tongue.
Apparently ‘because it stinks and it makes you cry’ was hardly what the tutor was looking for. Shani had lost a sister who she loved and her parents were less than thrilled with her life choice for America and in such, love was shaky concept for her until she had met Jason. He was the person who changed everything for her and there was no a day that went past that she was thankful for him and everything he had done.
“My strength is as the strength of ten, because my heart is pure.” She said knowing it was from Alfred Lord Tennyson part Irish. “It makes sense to me as that is how I see you. Stronger than any other person I know because your heart is pure.” Shani explained as she leaned toward him and kissed his cheek.

Jason smiled a bit when Shani quoted Tennyson. "I can not argue with you on that one." he said to her in reply before leading her into the park. He put his arm around her at the same time, then kissed her cheek. "No words can fully express how much you meen to me." he said to her softly while walking with her, kissing Shani behind the ear after he said that.
He was thankful everyday to have met Shani and that she was the one. When he was growing up, everyone in his class saw him as a quiet guy who kept to himself, figuring that he wouldn't get married. Jason remembered the looks on their faces when he introduced Shani to them during an alumni event at Navy Pier not long after they got married.

Shani let him lead her to the park with his arm around her she snuggled into his side. Days like that were few and far between but when they actually had time to themselves, those were the best days. When they could simply be themselves and not be parents, just the people that had met those years ago. “No they cannot, Israeli’s are passionate people but I cannot even begin to tell you what you mean to me.” Shani whispered lightly in his ear.
“Every day I tell you I love you and I mean it, you are the one person in the world Jason who is my best friend, lover, confidant who I would struggle to function without.” She said meaning every word as she remembered the looks on her husband’s classmate’s faces. The Navy Pier had been a lovely time and meeting her husband’s class was something she enjoyed despite the fact they seemed to have a completely different idea of her husband than she did.
