Shani knew her father was over protective, since her sister he had been nothing other than. School trips, her trip to America and even her choice to become a medic had all been issues and that was all before Jason. Even now he had his issues about her working, she remembered the many conversations about family and how she should be there with them and not working. The arguments it caused along with the second guessing what she was doing with her life. Her dad could go either way when it came to most topics she thought as she got ready to go out again.
Shani saw Ice and smiled as she patted his head as he barked. “Honestly, did dad send you up here to get me?” She asked as if Ice would answer her. “Looks like he’s ready and we better go to see him.” She said as she grabbed her things and shoved them in her bag as she made her way back to the front door and to Jason. “Someone looks eager.” She said with a smile as she approached Jason.

"Guilty" Jason replied when he looked over to her. Ice followed close behind Shani at the same time, which Jason noticed. He spoke to the big dog in German, giving him the command to guard the place while they were gone, though he would set the alarm as well. Ice knew what that ment, guarding the house was a role he did well. Jason remembered the time a rowdy neighbor tried to get in....only to be knocked down 88 lbs of muscle and fur on four legs with razor sharp teeth at the end.
Jason nodded to Ice, then lead Shani out, locking the door and setting the alarm at the same time. Back inside, Ice heard the beep of the alarm being activated, then walked around as if he was patrolling the apartment.

Shani smiled as she patted Ice on the head as Jason spoke; there was no better guard dog in the world. It had to be the best protected house on the street she thought as she followed Jason out as he set the alarms. She took a deep breath of the morning air as she smiled; it made a change for there not to be chaos when she was outside though usually that meant she was at work. “You know, between you and Ice we are the best looked after family.” She said as she took hold of his arm and leaned her head on his shoulder.
“So, are you looking forward to your very relaxing first day off?” She asked with a smile as she knew she would do everything she could to make sure he relaxed. He did his job well and lately she knew it had gotten to him or something had so time off was what he needed and time off was what she would make sure he got.

Jason nodded when Shani said that to him. "Thank you" he said to her gently while taking her hand. "As for the day off: I'm looking forward to spending time with my charming wife." he replied before kissing her cheek. It was the one thing really missed over the past few weeks and he was going to take full advantage of all the time they would have together. Jason led her to the car, opening and holding the passenger door for her.
As he did, Jason looked around the area they lived in while resting his hand on top of the open door. He liked this area and was thankful that they were living here. It was a far cry from the places he had been in during patrol.

Shani smiled and blushed a little. “You flatter me too much.” She said as she felt his lips on her cheek. It was moment like that when she realised just how little time they spent together, between work and the children it was rare to get any time with each other that hardly revolved around children or even seeing each other through work. When he opened the car door and held it for her she got in as her eyes glanced around at everything they had.
She was an extremely lucky woman to have fantastic children, an amazing husband and a life that she had only dreamed of for a lot of years. “Jason.” She said softly, “Thank you for all of this, it’s much more than I ever could have dreamed of.” Shani knew she was being a little emotional over it all but without Jason she struggled to think of a life that would have made her anywhere near as happy as it had done.

“Jason.....Thank you for all of this, it’s much more than I ever could have dreamed of.”
Jason glanced over when Shani said that to him, then nodded and gently squeezed her hand. "You're most welcome lass....isn't a man's job to provide for his wife and to make sure she has what she needs so she can tend to herself and her family?" he asked gently while driving them to the museum. It wasn't lost on Jason that it was expected of him to provide for Shani and treat her right, knowing the culture that she came from. He was thankful that both the Irish and Jewish cultures were about family. He hoped that Connor and Phoebe picked up on that.
A while later, he was pulling into the museum parking lot. After doing so, he walked around to the passenger side and opened the door for Shani, holding his hand out to her at the same time. One thing he always remembered from his dad was to always be a gentleman to women and to always defend her honor. That was two of many things that Jason took seriously.

Shani knew what her father expected of Jason, it was a lot and yet she was the luckiest woman alive. “It depends on who you speak to, it’s a wife’s job to make sure her husband is happy and get time off work when he needs it as well as looking after family.” She teased slightly, her culture was different but in Chicago she was standing on her own feet in a lot of ways she had only imagined when she was younger. That was all thanks to Jason as well, she was simply grateful that she had found someone who valued family as much as she did.
Shani smiled as he walked around the car to the passenger side to open the door for her. “Thank you sir.” She said with a grin as she took his hand and got out of the car. She moved his kiss his cheek as she moved away from the door a little. “Jason thank you, you’ve no idea how much you mean to me. I just want you to relax today and take time for you.” She said not wanting him to anything that he would not want to. It was his time off and he needed it by all counts as she smiled.

"You're welcome ma'am" Jason replied while closing the car door behind Shani and locking it. “Jason thank you, you’ve no idea how much you mean to me. I just want you to relax today and take time for you.”
Jason listened to Shani as she said that to him, then nodded. "I understand and will do so" he replied gently before leading Shani inside. After paying, Jason lead Shani around the museum, holding her hand at the same time. Moments later, he gently put his arm around Shani in a loving way, then leaned over and kissed her behind the ear.
"I love you" he whispered into his wife's ear after kissing her like that. It was clear he ment it and that he really loved her. At the same time, it always irked Jason when people looked at marriage as a burden or as a sports contract. After saying that, Jason looked Shani in the eyes while keeping his arm around her, gently pulling her a little closer to him.

Shani smiled as Jason closed the car door behind her, he was a gentleman in every way and a prince in her mind. Disney had nothing on her husband she thought silently, he was a wonderful man and she knew how lucky she was to have found that. Shani just wanted Jason to enjoy his time off, forget about work and just relaxed. It was a tall order yes but it was important to her that he got to do that.
Holding hands with him as she was lead around the museum she smiled as they looked around. Even as he put his arm around her and kissed her behind the ear she giggled like a child. She could tell he meant what he had said as she was glad for that. Shani leaned into him as she kissed him for a moment not caring who was there or who could see. “I love you too Mr McGuire.” She said softly before she leaned her head on his shoulder.
To her a marriage was important; it was something to be worked at and required give and take on both sides. She had never seen it as a contract or a burden, Shani enjoyed the feeling of being close to Jason as she wrapped her arms around his waist.

Jason smiled when Shani giggled and said that she loved him, knowing she ment it and that she enjoyed being close to him. As he lead Shani around the museum, Jason put everything that happened out of his mind, doing his best to focus on the time they were spending together. Jason soon lead her to the main street set up that was a fixture of the museum.
Upon leading her out to the middle of the exhibit, Jason turned and gently wrapped his arms around Shani before kissing her on the lips, dipping her a little as he did that. After doing so, Jason gently pulled her back up and looked Shani in the eyes as he kept his arms around her. Everything else faded for a moment after he did that to her.

Their time together was always fun and more than that it meant a lot to her. It was everything from a few stolen moments here and there to a day on their own. No matter how long it was, seconds, hours or even a day or two just being with him made the world right again. She was thankful for every single moment they had together and at the museum she was just that. Thankful to be there with him as she felt like the luckiest woman alive.
Shani followed Jason to the main street set up in the museum. She followed him out into the middle of the exhibit as she gasped as he kissed her and dipped her. Her arms immediately wrapped around him and though she was never afraid that he would drop her it was more an instinct as she kissed him back passionately. She caught his eyes with hers as all she could see was him, nothing else existed in her line of sight or even ear shot as she smiled. “Jason.” She gasped as she kissed him again.

Jason returned the kiss with the same amount of passion as they stood there, his arms still around Shani at the same time. After doing so, Jason softly broke the kiss and pulled back, looking at Shani at the same time. He gently placed his hand on her cheek while standing there with her. "I love you so much" he said to her in Hebrew as he looked her in the eye.
It was clear that Jason ment it and that his feelings for Shani were the same as the day they started dating back in college. Jason flashed back to that day as he stood there with her, smiling a little at the same time.

Shani looked right back at Jason as he spoke, in Hebrew too which meant a lot to her. English was her second language and his Hebrew was good as she smiled and nodded. “I love you too, without you life would just be...” Shani stopped there because imagining a life without him was like seeing darkness. She was happy; her life was amazing and her husband even more so.
She could see that Jason meant what he said, her feelings had grown for him every since the day they met. Every day that passed she felt stronger than the day before as she smiled at him. “I’ve an idea, how about this weekend I take you on holiday? My treat, just the two of us?” She offered not sure if he would entirely want to go or not. “My parents could fly in and take the children for a couple of days and I’ll surprise you with the destination?”

Jason listened as Shani said that to him, then nodded a bit. "I would like that" he said to her. He knew that Shani's parents would love to see Connor and Phoebe. "Its been a while since your parents have seen the kids." he added off the cuff while leading Shani out of the exhibit and into another part of the museum. He soon led her to the giant heart. "This freaked me out as kid...thought I don't mind it now." he said off the cuff while looking at it.
Jason remembered his parents having to drag him through it when he was younger, thankful that his sisters didn't give him any grief about it. He chuckled a bit at the memory while standing there with Shani.

Shani smiled and nodded as he said he would like it, she was relieved that he would in a sense as she hardly wanted to over step. “It has been a while and I know they would love to see them.” She said, there was always web chats and things but actually seeing someone in the flesh. It made a difference. Shani followed Jason into another part of the museum as she saw the giant heart. “You got to see this as a kid?” She asked stunned by that.
She knew a lot of their childhoods were different but if she would have been able to visit something like that then she would never have been home. Shani chuckled as he did as she reached out and placed her hand over where his heart was. “The heart is what makes each and every one of us. It is like looking at life in a person.” She said with a smile, “And trust me I’d protect you from the giant heart. It won’t bite you I promise.” She teased with a smile looking at it as if a child might with complete amazement and excitement.
