“So agreed.” She replied when he spoke about reading the riot act to the principal. Shani followed Jason seeing that he wanted to find the guy and get to the truth. Shani was of the same opinion because their son was upset and to think that someone had turned him away and not believed him. No, in her mind that was bad news just waiting to happen. Shani had no special forces training and she knew if pushed she was likely to set off like a fire work. Something she had always done in defence of her family.
Shani moved into the building as she looked around, “Do you think the principal is still here?” She asked not sure if she wanted to jut scream at the man for a good hour or so or have an adult conversation with him.

Jason looked around when Shani said that to him. "I do, the light in his office is still on." he replied. Seeing the door open he walked over, hearing the secretary object to him do so. "Its okay Nancy" the principal said as Jason watched him. "We need to talk." Jason said to him after the principal asked why he and Shani were present. It was clear to the secretary that this wasn't a social call from Jason and his wife.
Jason followed the principal back into his office, standing in front of the chair that was opposite the other man's desk while waiting for Shani.

Shani was torn between being relieved that the guy was still there and scared for the man because she felt like screaming at him for a good few hours. Shani followed Jason just glaring at the secretary when she objected to her husband. She tried to keep the stern look from her face but it simple kept creeping through. Shani could see that the secretary knew that it was something serious for them to be there though telling them no right now was just bad news.
Following her husband and the principal back to his office Shani opted to stand next to her husband. “Why we are here, I thought that would be clear the minute you dismissed out son when he told you about the bullying?” She snapped deciding not to sugar coat things, she had always been straight to the point and brutally honest and this time was no different. “How dare you not take him seriously.” She stated trying to decide if strangling the man was a step too far though she felt the option was still on the table.

It wasn't lost on Jason that Shani wanted to strangle the guy, he felt the same way. "You are to look out for the well being of all the kids here and that is what you do when our son comes to you about a bully?" he asked, clearly angered as he said that. What couldn't be seen was the fact that he was balling his left hand into a fist, as if he wanted to clock the guy in front of him across the jaw.
However, deep down he knew that wouldn't be a good move and only serve to get him in trouble with the very department he worked for. Though he knew that things could change on a dime in a situation like this.

Her husband was angry just like she was and yet she waited to hear what the principal had to say for himself, anything less than a sorry and as a mother she would never be held responsible for her actions. She knew if she did anything like that she would be in trouble with the CPD and worse still her husband. After all she could hardly ask him to turn his back on the people he worked for because she had an issue with someone.
Shani reached out for her husband’s hand, simply to stop herself from doing anything silly. Ending up in jail was hardly the right use of her time no matter how justified she felt it would be. Her family was everything to her and this man was letting their son be bullied and worse still he hardly seemed to believe him. She was still in two minds as to which was worse.

Jason looked over to Shani when she took his hand, relaxing a little at the same time. He then looked back to the principal while standing there. "Please, tell us your side." he said in more restrained tone. Jason knew when to back off and listen to other person, even if he didn't like what was said. It was something his dad taught him while growing up.
He kept his cool while the principal spoke about when Connor came to him, watching him closely at the same time. As he did, his skill in reading people took over, watching close for any clues that would give away a lie.

Shani noted the more restrained tone as she smiled toward her husband; she hardly wanted him to get into trouble with his work even though she would say she saw nothing in his defence. Shani listened to what the principals answer was. There were a lot of lines in her life that she refused to cross but for her husband and children even her most rigid of lines she was willing to break.
“So why did you turn him away?” Shani asked listening to what he was saying but in her mind Connor was the one who had been hurt by this. Their son was upset and for this Shani wanted to yell at the principal to make sure he understood just how upset she was over it. “He’s a good kid and he never lies.” She stated in Connors defence.

The principal looked at Shani when she asked him that. "I had other things to worry about." he replied in a somewhat smug tone. Jason noticed it as he stood there with Shani. At that moment, all restraint went out the window. "HAD OTHER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT?!" he snapped. "A child in your building, our son!, is getting picked on, and you brush him off so you can focus on phone calls, budgets and meetings?....what kind of leader are you?!" Jason added, fire in his eyes as he said that.
He kept his eyes on the principal as he stood there, not realizing that the secritary and others in the main office heard his outburst.

The smug tone took her by surprised and then those words, he had ‘other things to worry about’. Oh he was going to have a whole lot more to worry about if she got her hands on him she thought though the minute she thought it Jason snapped. Shani listened to Jason and what he said seeing the fire in his eyes, she reached for his hand as she attempted to calm him down though really Shani wanted to go and hit the guy for what he said.
“You are the kind of leader who has no leadership skills, our son is being bullied and what do you do. Nothing, what would the other parents here think when I call them all and let them know just what a useless principal you are.” She added glaring at him before she took a step closer to him. “Or better yet do you want to know what it feels like to be bullied first hand and then you might feel a little stronger about paying attention to your students.” Shani was angry and upset, yes she might have just threatened the man but then this was their child and she was more than happy to throw the man around his office to protect her family.

Jason looked over to Shani when she took his hand, then back to the principal. "Now tell me: are you going to talk with our son?" he asked calmly. The principal watched him as he asked that, then nodded. "I will" he replied while looking Jason in the eye. "Good" he replied, knowing that the guy was telling the truth while watching him.
Jason sighed a little moments later, composing himself as he stood there and held Shani's hand. He looked to the principal, then stepped out of the room, walking past the secretary who was still on edge after hearing his outburst.

Shani still wanted to throw the man around the office like a ragdoll just to prove her point, those people who upset her family upset her directly. Lying had never been her strong suit and if anything she herself was brutally honest. Give her a patient and she could see a lie a mile off but give her any other situation and she would trust her husbands judgement on the matter.
Following him out of the room and past the secretary Shani glared at the woman, one word to Jason and she was ready to bite anyone’s head off. “Jason, do you think he will talk to Connor?” Shani asked simply wanting her son to be happy because to see his tears and worry broke her heart entirely.

Jason knew Shani would have tossed the guy around and that he wouldn't have stopped her. When she spoke, he looked over to her. "After the way we talked to him, I have a feeling he will....though it would still be best if we were here for him." he said to her in reply, his tone much calmer then before. A slight sigh left Jason's lips after he said that to Shani.
"We better get home, not much more we can do here at the moment." he commented while looking back to Shani.

Shani nodded as Jason spoke, she noticed his tone was much calmer than it had been before yet she noticed the sigh too. “We will always be here for him, for Phoebe and for you too Jason.” She said with a slight smile. She was happy he was calmer as she hated when he was angry or worked up over something though he had ever right to be.
At the mention of getting home she agreed. “Of course.” She said as she hugged him lightly before she pulled away for a moment. Shani gazed at him for a second or two before she kissed his cheek gently. “Thank you Jason, thank you for everything you do.” She said simply happy with what had been done and grateful that her husband looked after their family. She could never have been happier or prouder of him.

"You're welcome" Jason replied before nodding and leading Shani out and to the car. After getting in, he took her home, thinking about what had happened between them and the principal. A few moments later, he reached over and took Shani's hand in his, closing it around her's. He felt the same way about her, knowing that she would bend over backwards to do anything for the family.
While at a stop light, Jason leaned over and kissed her. I love you he said to her in Hebrew after kissing her cheek.

Shani just wanted her family to be happy and that included the children, school could be brutal but especially when the adults turned their backs which Shani hoped was about to change for Connor. Feeling him take her hand in his Shani looked over to Jason as she squeezed his hand slightly. There was better man than her husband and yes ever wife said that but Jason, Jason was the hero of her story and none more so than that day.
Defending Connor as he had and keeping his cool with the principal that made it exceedingly tough to do so. She smiled as he kissed her and spoke in Hebrew. “I love you too.” She replied in Hebrew as she kept a hold on his hand as she leaned against his shoulder. Shani would have climbed into his lap and hugged him right then but it would make driving awkward and the last thing she wanted was to land her husband in any trouble. “You are my hero for what you did today.” She said in almost a whisper to him.
