With all due respectAren't you going to reciprocate? Do I always have to talk sense into people?
[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]Jess was asleep on the couch, she was too young to drink but had been acting drunk at a party after drinking only a few cups of cola. She'd been released from the hospital after having her stomach pumped. Now she was asleep on Martin's couch because JJ had brought her there. Martin was coming in from his shift having just swapped watch with Anderson. He was exhausted and he rubbed the bridge of his nose. Turning to look over at towards the living room, as he hung up his coat he noticed Jessica was there. He knew exactly who she was; he was just puzzled as to why she was in the living room.
Teresa's car wasn't outside, but JJ's was so he presumed his son might know something about it. That boy sometimes. Then again Martin was proud of both of his children and he knew they had good heads on their shoulders. Though his daughter was sometimes... a handful. Martin was quiet and quite used to people being brought to his house as a sort of safe haven. He wanted the kids to feel like this was a safe place. Now to find out what in sam hill was going on.

The party had been going well until Jess somehow managed to get her hands on alcohol. She was too young and with that came a trip to the hospital and one stomach pump later she was asleep on the couch of the safest place he knew of. JJ knew that home was the only safe place and really Jess needed to sleep it off in a place that was quiet and where no one was going to yell at her about it. Sure he wanted to but then it was just a favour for a girl who had been doing some heavy drinking in his head.
JJ had sat himself in the chair watching Jess to make sure she was alright. He heard his dad come in as he glanced up from the seat before he stood up. “It’s not what you think.” He said calmly though really what was he thinking given there was a girl asleep on the couch. Not exactly a normal thing but then since when did normal apply to anything. “She had too much, ended up in the hospital and I figured that this was the safest place for her. It isn’t like I could just have let her go home.” He said trying to explain his thoughts behind it.
For one she was drunk, two acting it which at a party although fun the last thing he wanted was for her to find trouble given she wasn’t old enough to hold any alcohol let along drink it. “How was shift?” He asked deciding to distract from the sleeping girl on the couch. Distraction was key when trying to avoid a situation though mostly he preferred the quiet way of life though given his deciding to bring home a girl to sleep on the couch. Yeah it was going to be a strange night.

[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]Martin sighed and shook his head. Now was as good a time as any to explain things to him. “I met her for the first time a few days ago.” He pointed out. Yeah he needed to get that out of the way before JJ thought he was hiding anything. “I’m not at all upset you are taking care of your sister” he pointed out as he closed the closet door and came over towards the couch. He took a seat in the chair to the side from the other two.
“Jessica is your half sister through your biological father.” Martin and Kristina had never hide from JJ that he was adopted, but none of that mattered. The Martin’s knew exactly who his biological parents were too. “I don’t know much else about her other than she is in the navy. It’s a long story.” It had been Jess who had invited Jackson to the party in the first place, after Martin had given her his number. Though she’d never gotten a chance to tell JJ the truth before stuff happened. “She wanted to tell you herself; just don’t tell her I told you. I think she really wanted to tell you herself” Jess had been adamant about that.
“Shift was eventful” that usually meant that things hadn’t run so smoothly. No Vanessa had managed to play ding dong ditch with Maxwell AGAIN on the shift prior and that was just the start of Martin’s day. Trying to fix the stupid of the youngest addition to the security team, that never went well.

JJ furrowed his brow as Martin started to talk, what did meeting the girl a few days ago have to do with anything he thought. He leapt to all kinds of conclusions, had Jess been in trouble of some kind his dad was security after all. It was most likely he thought until he heard that one word. Sister. JJ laughed and shook his head looking at Jess for a moment. “No dad, Teresa isn’t here. This is Jess.” He said as if Martin had just mistaken the identity of the person though that was a leap at best.
It was only when he heard the rest that JJ couldnt help but stare at the two of them as if they had suddenly grown a set of horns on their heads. Jackson knew he had been adopted but the detail was sketchy and although knowing who his biological family was would be great he knew he had been adopted for a reason or at least he hoped it was a good reason. "I've got a long time to hear the story dad." He said wanting to know what was going on before his head exploded.
JJ was never the type to show anything on the outside, if he showed an hint of upset on the outside you could be sure that he was ten times worse than that. His sister was in reaching distance and he had no idea, JJ wasnt sure how he should feel or what he felt about that as he tried to make sense in his head of the night so far. He had accepted the party invitation without knowing it was his sister? “Tell me? Why didnt you tell me days ago when you knew?” he asked not sure if he should feel hurt or what to feel.
Eventful shift distracted his mind for a moment as he glanced toward his dad. “What do you mean eventful? Is everything okay?” He asked genuinely concerned, well the word said it all really. Any shift that was an event meant that is wasn’t the smooth, nothing’s happening shift that he usually hoped for his dad to get. Something that meant he could get an easier time though really he doubted the guy would have been happy with that at all.

[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]Martin moved towards JJ and took a seat on the other couch. “Yes. I know that is Jess.” He looked towards his son and decided that this was probably not the best idea in the history of ideas, but it had to be said and explained. Martin didn’t like keeping things from his children.
“I only know bits and pieces of things.” He started out. “All I know is that some of your biological family were killed shortly after you were born. Your mother and your sister. You biological father was deployed. I don’t know anything about him other than he was in the Marines at the time. But at the time of your adoption no one could contact him or they didn’t try, I really don’t know.” Martin looked to his son and sighed. “You ended up at Chicago DCFS. You have a closed adoption through the state.” A closed adoption meant that no one could get the records for who JJ had gone home with, or the contact information for his biological family.
Rubbing his eyes as he leaned over pushing his hands over the bridge of his nose, it was something he did when he was upset over something. “I didn’t tell you about Jess because I was respecting her wishes. She wanted to tell you. You’ve no idea how many times it has almost slipped.” Martin now faulted himself for not saying something; but he didn’t let it show. Martin was very good at keeping most of his emotions in check.
“Vanessa was just a handful today. Got the better of Maxwell and Anderson. I came into a mess.” Martin’s shifts usually went fairly well. “Everything is alright” he assured his son. Well as alright as they could be when Teresa’s friend got a bug up her butt.

So he knew it was Jess, then why was he acting so weird about it. It wasn’t exactly like he was in the habit of bringing women home and least of all drunken ones or unconscious ones. JJ knew he was missing something but then what was it? Work related by any account, she worked for the Cross family unless he was in trouble for association but then it was just a party. Not like he was the one unconscious and Jess was helping him, no he was being responsible just as he was taught to be.
“At the time? So no one tried after that?” He asked or rather snapped though really he had no idea other than was Sheldon was explain to him. For all else Sheldon Martin was his father and only one he had known his entire life. “So really you’ve no idea about me at all? Closed, you really have no idea because for someone who has no idea you know more than I do.” He said as he stood up to pace in front of the chair he was sat on, no he wouldnt keep things from him that just wasn’t the man he knew.
It was like trying to understand the puzzle when he had just been invited in half way through. JJ knew the signs for when his father was upset over something, he was seeing it now as he tried to calm himself down not that he was outwardly showing it but he never had been good at that. A slight annoyance on the outside was war on the inside with him. “Her wishes, what about my wishes? I’ve another sister I didnt even know of. You kept that from me, it’s my family dad as much as you, Kristina and Teresa are” JJ said hardly believing he was the last in the room to know what everyone else already did.
JJ wanted the distraction as he was happy Vanessa was providing that even if it had been a bad day. “What did she do now? Run off? Lock them in a closet somewhere?” He asked wanting anything to quieten his mind from what was going on. “Alright, no it’s not.” He said simply as he felt his foot tapping on the floor softly. “You know someone needs to tell that woman to stop stressing you out. I’m more than happy to take her on dad.” He stated in enough of a frame of mind to set off and her that himself.

With all due respectAren't you going to reciprocate? Do I always have to talk sense into people?
[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]Martin didn't want to argue with Jackson at all. That was the last thing he wanted. Could he do nothing right. That's when the phone rang and Martin's face paled. It was well known to both the children that Kristina was in the hospital after a recent car accident. When Martin hung up the phone he threw it, their argument seemed to distant now something to latch onto.
“I know more, that's true; but I do not know everything son" he stated. Eyes drifted at the wall. "Don't you think she deserves the right to explain herself?" He added. There was still an elephant in the room and Martin didn't want to talk about it. "36 hours Jackson. That's how long I have known" he added. Though the words sounded bitter.
His son was angry at him and the news from the hospital. "If only it were as simple as the day she tossed Maxwell in the swimming pool" he pointed out. Evan had been kidnapped, Vanessa had run off and now Kristina... Though Martin chuckled a bit as Jackson mentioned taking on Vanessa. He smirked. "I appreciate the sentiment." Martin patted his son's back before going to retrieve the phone. He started putting the case back on it. "Your mother, she's not going to make it" there was too much going on. Martin was about to lose it as he scrolled through the phone to text Teresa. Looking over towards Jess he then looked back to Jackson. "This is between the two of you. You should talk to her when she wakes up." He was fighting back whatever he had to fight back right now. He knew that Teresa and Jackson were going to need him more now than ever. He could break down later.

JJ was still trying to wrap his head around things, his dad knew but never said and now Jess knew but hadn’t gotten that far. What did everyone know about things other than him? JJ took a moment when the phone rang to try and gather himself though the minute he saw his dad’s face pale he knew something wasn’t right. Hospital or Vanessa he thought or worse Teresa though if it was her then he’d personally go and fix whatever was wrong.
“Everything, I don’t want everything just people to be honest with me.” He said trying not to be mad about it as he stared at Jess. “She can explain herself but what does everyone know but me now, some joke that you can...” He stopped himself there knowing he didnt need to talk it out all he needed to do was burry it as usual. It was what he did, the world went to hell and he just carried on as if it was all okay. It was what he had done his entire life. Hearing the bitter words Martin spoke JJ chose not to reply, thirty six hours that he could have said something.
“It can be simple, handcuff her to a lamp post.” He stated not entirely sure doing that to his boss would work but then desperate times needed insane measures. When he heard Martin chuckle he grinned a little before he watched him retrieve the phone. JJ sat there hearing those words ‘not going to make it’. The Marines had taught him that term but this was home turf, this was safe this wasn’t war and this was his mother the only one he had in life. He only looked back to Martin when he spoke again, “No... not now.” He said simply trying to play catch up to what had been said.
“It’s not right... we have to go.” JJ announced like it made sudden sense to him, “She’s my mum, she doesn’t just not make it.” He snapped which was about normal for him being torn up inside and not showing it. A snappy voice meant war inside; a tear was a flood gate being held back. He was unusually skilled at hiding his feelings and calm was a state of mind for him.
JJ grabbed his keys and his jacket, no way his mum was going anywhere if he had anything to say about it. “I can give her a kidney or a liver or a lung, whatever it is she needs and if its not that then I can make it. I’ve got it covered.” He said, people were basically machines and machines he knew better than most. Hell he was an engineer, it was what he did and if Kristina needed a extra parts to live then he’d give up his as he motioned for Martin to move to the car. “Come on let’s go dad. I can fix her.” He announced, he could fix this he told himself, he had to fix this because losing the only family he knew that wasn’t happening to him.
JJ knew what he was like, that beneath the calm face and voice that didnt even betray him for a moment he was a mess. Scratch the surface and he’d be like any other human being but on the outside he was almost clinically cold which was the only defence mechanism to life he knew.

don't apologize
It was sometime that the phone ringing and the somewhat audible sound of voices. Oh her head was pounding she could barely make out the ongoing conflict between the two males in the room. Right this must be Jackson's house, she recognized his voice. "JJ?" her voice sounded confused. She was... right. Where where she? Of all the places she could be, it had to be somewhere. Maybe he lived here? No, that couldn't be right. Jess was struggling to put the pieces of her setting into place.
She heard Martin's voice. "I give you honesty son, as much as I expect from you. She is the one who wanted to tell you." Martin reinterated again. Jess sighed.. great they were fighting over her. "He's right. I told him not to say anything. I... it's a long story and I want to explain. Don't be mad at your dad. If you want to be mad at someone, then be mad at me" she was going off tones and inflection of voice patterns. Eyes still closed the room spinning. If he hated her, then so be it. Who was she to interrupt his life?
“Who are we handcuffing to a lamppost?” Jess wanted to giggle but the mood in the room. It had gone dark. "Go to your mom JJ." She got up off of the couch and walked in a very crooked line towards him. One suggesting she was dizzy. Jess leaned on the wall watching JJ run around and Martin trying to handle the situation. Martin was used to snappy. Vanessa was snappy.
Martin didn't say anything. He already knew the truth of the matter. But he knew arguing with Jackson was not much luck and he was too upset himself to do much about it. Jess could see it in his eyes. Though she would let them do what they needed to do. Jess couldn't even pretend what it was like to lose a parent. She had both of hers. That alone was something that made her thankful.
OOC: Let's skip the hospital part for now until I determine exactly what I want to have happened to her? Maybe we pick up where they come back. Jess and Jackson can talk?

JJ looked over at Jess, hell of a time for her to wake up he thought not sure if he wanted to talk to her or yell at her for what was going on though that hadn’t ever been his style. “Right here Jess.” He said in a slightly harsher tone than he usually spoke with, there was too much going on for him not to be mad at everyone in that room. His own father had known about it for longer than he had and now he found that Jess knew too and his mother was in trouble.
“You should have told me as soon as you knew. You’re my dad, you tell me things.” He said trying not to be mad but he couldn’t help it, it was bad enough that Jess knew about it. Why did people wanted to tell him things and never get around to it, honesty was the best and people just needed to come out with it. “You kept it from me, why not just tell me about it? Hey Jackson I’m your sister... see it’s easy but I find out I have my own sister on the couch because...” JJ took a breath pushing everything back for a moment.
Emotional was not a comfortable state for him, he prided himself on his control because that was the one thing he had to hold onto when the one person he trusted his entire life kept something as big as his family from him for over a day. As the lamppost conversation came to the front Jackson smiled, “Yeah just Vanessa, swear dad should do that one day just to save him time and stress.” It was like the day from hell when he found out about his mother, when Martin said nothing JJ just looked at him. What was wrong with people today?
It truly was a horrible day, JJ couldnt even have told anyone what it was like and getting home he wasn’t even sure how he had done that other than the car keys in his hand that he threw against the wall as soon as he set foot through the front door. For some reason losing his family hadn’t crossed his mind, not his mother and father they were the safe ones they did reasonably safe jobs and had years and decades ahead of them. He still couldnt believe it as he thought of the amount of things he wanted to ask her, stupid things like did she want to go out for dinner one night or just get a takeaway.
It made no sense as he hung up his jacket before he headed back to the living room. He didnt bother to look around as he remembered Jess was still in the house somewhere. “Jess?” He called as he dropped into the nearest seat not sure if he wanted to talk to her or just to sit in silence for hours. It was too much of a shock that he hadn’t even cried, he assumed that Kristina would make it she

don't apologize Jess hated when people were harsh with her. Hearing him spout off she could get just as snappy and feisty and right now so be it. "Easy?? You think this is easy for anyone?" she fired off. Jess wasn't a liar and she didn't like keeping things from people. Though she defended Martin. "You want to be mad at someone Jackson then you can be mad at me. I wanted to tell you. FACE to FACE!" Having someone yell at her, it was not something she was accustomed too. Sure Gibbs was stern with her at times or disciplinary but he never yelled at her.
While JJ unloaded on Martin, Jess shut herself in the bathroom locking the door. She didn't even hear them discussing whatever it was about lamp posts. Nor did she care. It took a bit to get Jess in a mood but when she was in one. Heaven help the person who put her there. She should have never said anything. Jess didn't come out she heard them leave. Jess didn't understand that JJ was going through right now. She was only half asleep and catching half a conversation.
Jess was outside sitting in a tree with her chin propped up on her knees. She was leaning against the tree trunk. She was staring down at her phone. 'Come get me? This was all a mistake. At Martin's'. She had been staring at the message for half an hour. If she sent it, then she was giving up. If she didn't send it, then she was stuck here dealing with JJ screaming at her.
She saw him on the couch. Part of her wanted to go and see what she could do to make him feel better. Out of principle, she was more about helping people when she could. The other part of her was so angry at him. Furious even. Even still another part of her wanted to just walk away to protect him. He had a family why should she tear that apart. Him knowing that his birth parents were both still alive? That was a hard hit for anyone. People he didn't even know. Jess hit send on the text message. Evan was the only person who would come get her without playing twenty questions. Her own parents well... their dad would only make things harder on everyone. Then to drag him into this? No. If she had wanted to talk before, she didn't want to talk now.
I'll message you as I have an idea of sorts

Easy, yes it was easy for his father to keep it quiet for however many hours, it was easy for Jess to just not tell him outright what she knew. Easy seemed to be going around in his mind. “Well we are face to face.” He said though really he hadn’t even thought he would have had to help his sister back from a party, or that he even had a sister beyond Teresa. He was trying not to snap but there was that much going on in his own mind that snapping was the only way before he said something worse.
Jackson hadn’t been the sort to outwardly show upset or annoyance unless it was bad. What others called an average arguments was full flown angry for him, he maybe didnt show it but once he did it was much worse under what people could see. The evening just seemed to get worse as he unloaded onto Martin and then the only mother he knew was gone. His family was disappearing and he couldnt fix it, he wanted to and his head was telling him every little thing that could be done but none of it could save her.
JJ didnt even know if he had energy to be angry with Jess, she was family and he just hadn’t been in the mood to hear it. When he didnt hear anything back JJ looked around as he wondered outside and saw Jess sitting in the tree. He kept his head down not wanting to look at her because he knew he was too mad and too upset but she was his family, a family he didnt even know he had. “She died.” He stated in a matter of fact tone before he sat down on the cold ground, at least he knew what the cold felt like because he wasn’t too sure he could feel much else.
“My, mum she...” he said trying to let her understand what was going on though Martin, Kristina and Teresa were the only family he thought he had. The only family he had wanted and now there was Jess there too. For the first moment since he had stepped outside JJ looked up at her, “Who am I?” He asked her trying to understand where he had come from and who his family was, he knew he was never giving up the Martin’s as family but if he had more out there. His own blood family then he decided he wanted to know the who’s and where’s of it all. Jess was the one who had the answers because she had told Martin, he wanted to know what else there was that she knew.

don't apologize Jess was still mad at him. Though she wasn't holding it against him. In the time he was gone she had managed to settle herself down. Though she still wanted Evan to come and pick her up. This wasn't easy for her and what she knew well that wasn't easy either. Sighing she heard his voice again. Did he really have to be such a jerk? She could always just tell him the truth and leave.
Jess didn't come down from the tree, it was easier to be up there where he couldn't see her expressions. What was she supposed to say. Jess was NOT the apologetic or sympathy type. She was the comforting type but when she was mad it was hard to find that side of herself. Though she knew if she'd lost either of her parents... she'd be just as much a wreck. It wasn't easy.
"I'm not going to understand, because I don't." She decided the truth though blunt was... the best option here. Jess had both her parents. Jess didn't grow up with siblings either, so she was just close to her mom and dad as a result. When he asked who he was she sighed.
"You are my half brother who has acted like a complete asshole" She mused. Cursing wasn't Jess' thing but she was upset. Jess was far more polite.. "I'm sorry that was uncalled for" she realized what she had said. This was a mistake she just should never had said anything. She wanted to tell him that the Martin's were his family and just leave it there.
"Right now is hardly the best time to come barreling into Dad's life" she was protective of her dad in a lot of ways, he was going through a lot. Hell Jackson's mother had just shown up alone without Kelly. "It's a really long story and it's not mine to explain" she wasn't going to tell him about Kelly. No, she had to do that. She knew it would break her dad to talk about Kelly. "When you were born.. your biological sister was eight. Your birth mother.. she hid you; tried to save your sister Kelly.. and the rest to me is a mystery." She jumped down from the tree and got in his face.
"If you EVER bring up Kelly in front of either one of them. So HELP ME I will end you" She stated as she got in his face. Telling JJ he was born the day his sister died? No. Not going to happen. "She was my sister too but that name is Taboo. Do you understand?" Jess wasn't about to get into the fact that she have never known Kelly. That was kind of obvious by her age. "They did what they had to do to protect you! I will do the same for them. I want that to be perfectly clear" she stated as she put her hand down and walked away. Leaning on the side of the house she closed her eyes and looked down at the ground.
This was not Jess, Jess was fun loving and rambunctious. Friendly and calm, the introvert who had her nose in a book and loved to read. But she was protective of her dad. She was VERY protective of her dad. He'd had enough heart break in the time that Jackson had walked the earth. Shannon had come clean about JJ but that didn't make things just magically okay. The Two and a half decade of his biological parents' life was nothing but heart break.
"When dad is ready, he'll find you." She ascertained as she glanced down at her phone to see that Evan was on his way. JJ could hate her all that he dang well pleased. That wasn't going to change Jess' stance on things.

JJ didnt know what to do or where to begin, his mum was gone and she was a consistent in his life just like Martin was. His dad was at the hospital and now what did he have, a family that he had lost someone from and now he was finding out about an entirely new one on the same day. He wished that Kristina had been there because she’d know what to do or what to say about it all. Her bluntness surprised him though he soon snapped out of his sadness as he glared at her. “I didnt ask you to understand, there’s a lot I dont understand.” He said equally as bluntly.
Then he was about to listen to her when she called him a complete asshole. “Sorry, no don’t be sorry just bring it on. I’m an asshole why? Because you didnt tell me? Because you were so drunk I had to take you back home to make sure you’re alright? What you wanted to be left at the party?” JJ had to take a breath to stop himself as he chewed on his lip fighting the urge to just yell at her about everything though she didnt deserve that. It wasn’t her fault that his life was falling to pieces on that night.
He could have handled one thing, his mother or his actual family but both on the same night and he didnt know where to turn or who to trust. JJ just stood and listened to her explain that it wasn’t the best time to come barrelling in but as he saw she had come barrelling into his. JJ dropped himself to the ground below the tree when he heard he had a sister called Kelly. “Tried to save her? Is she dead?” He asked not sure how to take the fact he had a sister he didnt even know about to know he had lost family already.
Hearing her threat as she got in his face JJ just nodded. “I understand, no talking about her at all.” He said not sure what was going on though he had Teresa, Jess and an unknown Kelly as his sisters. JJ got up as he watched her leaning on the side of the house, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to yell at her more but then it wasn’t her fault. Why weren’t his parents there too? Why were they avoiding him but he guessed at twenty five he wasn’t exactly the kid they left that day. No he was an adult that could do everything for himself and who he had no idea of a family that was out there.
“No he cant, tell him no... I just cant. Don't tell them about me.” He asked as he thought of Martin and what he might think though right then was thinking anything to do with anything. “You... you I know them no I cant, they cant. Either of them, you know?” He said trying to make sense as he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. He had to be there for Martin, to make sure his dad was alright and Teresa and Jess too as his head was spinning.
“Jess, are you sure? I mean really sure that you’re my half sister?” He asked just wanting to make sure of that fact as he reached out a hand to her. “I just... you, me, them.” He said again making perfect sense in his own head. Whoever his mother and father were, what made them think that he wanted to know? He did want to know but still, after twenty five years why now? Why did they think this was the best time and how did Jess know it was him. There were so many questions he didnt know where to start with them.

don't apologize Jess snapped right back at him. "I wasn't drunk!! I don't drink Jackson!!! EVER!!!!" That meant that something else had happened. She'd not intended for anything to happen at that party other than to talk to JJ. But something had happened and she'd not gotten the chance. Jess was upset, Jess didn't do upset. Usually Jess was calm but she was protective and so help her she was going to protect her dad.
"Your parents. Jackson they already know. Shannon came clean to Dad. She threw her life away to make sure that you could have yours. She took a bullet trying to save Kelly!!!" she fired off. "But trust me.. Dad already knows. He's just not ready Jackson." She knew that because it had been his whole life. Where was she supposed to start.
"Dad was deployed and Shannon did everything to keep you safe. That meant giving you a life!" Their lives had been very different. "Me? Yeah I'm the result of dad grieving and falling into bed with my mother." She narrowed eyes at him when he said he couldn't do it. "You should talk to Shannon. But I swear if you yell..." she paused. "On second thought don't. She's trying to readjust to being herself." Shannon didn't need a kid she hadn't raised yelling at her. That would get all of them off on the wrong foot.
Coming clean had been a mistake. "You know what.. Just all of this is one big mistake." She blurted out. "And yes I am sure that we are half siblings." She looked at his hand. What was she supposed to do with it. Jess had her ways. It wasn't like Jackson Jethro was a common name. She'd been able to narrow it down well enough. Then she'd seen his birth certificate. It had been Shannon's name on it, well her alias. "Her name was Karla when she gave birth to you. That's not my story to tell. You want to know you can talk to Shannon." she wasn't going to explain what she knew about the witness protection thing.
She didn't take the hand. "It's your perogative. Your life is here. I get that. But you wanted to know then you haul off and yell at me. Don't even think about it Jackson." She just looked at his hand. "You don't get to yell at me and then act like it's all okay." No one yelled at her, and it stung. Jess didn't hesistate to put people in their place when they got to her. She moved off the wall and headed for the curb out front as she checked her phone again. "Seriously Cross where are you?" she mumbled under her breathe.
