Sharon was enjoying walking through the halls of the museum. She had excused herself from Thomas to go use the ladies room. She was on her way back when a familiar voice caught her from behind. "What a surprise. It's nice to see a familiar face" came the sound of her ex. He undoubtedly thought he was trying to be nice. Sharon just kept walking. "What is the matter. Now you can't say hi?" he sounded offended. Sharon turned around. "Jason. I am asking you nicely now to leave." Her voice was quiet but confident. She wasn't feeling comfortable with the situation and kept walking towards Thomas as the conversation continued. Right now she wanted to be no where near this Jason character. "Vicki. Honey. Will you talk to me? Please. Look I am sorry about what happened between us." he offered trying to be cordial. Though as Sharon found Thomas she looped her arm around his waist. Jason didn't seem too pleased with that. "Are you serious right now Victoria?" he shot off. Sharon cuddled up to Thomas and made it very clear that her and Thomas were together. "I'm asking you to leave. I will not say it again." She made the point very clear. What else could she say? She didn't want to make a scene. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Thomas was stood looking at one of the exhibits while Sharon left to use the ladies room. He was enjoying their time together as really looking at any of the pieces in the museum was secondary to tearing his eyes away from Sharon. He was just glad to be there with her and he was certainly the luckiest guy to be with her too. He had practically given up on any resembling a relationship or love or really females all together. It was until one shot him and that turned out to be the best day of his entire life.
Getting shot was usually bad but to him, that day if he hadn’t have been then there might have been no chance for them at all. Thomas stood and squinted at a painting on the wall hearing a few people talk about the abstract and colours while all Thomas could think was that it had been substituted for a painting done by a two year old. Then when the chat turned to price he almost had to pick himself up off the floor, that was until he was distracted by another conversation he heard.
Vicki, it was the name as he glanced around to see Sharon. He smiled when she looped her arm around his waist as he placed his arm around hers too. Clearly there was something wrong and the guy who was talking to her, well Victoria had been the person he was trying to save from the boat as he forced himself not to call her Sharon at all.
Thomas glanced the guy over for a moment as he looked toward Sharon and smiled. “The lady asked you to leave.” Thomas stated in a friendly tone with a serious undertone behind it as he looked to Sharon. “How about we move off to another exhibit?” He asked wanting to get her away from the guy who obviously she wanted nothing to do with.

Sharon felt Thomas loop his arm around her waist. Maybe Jason would get the hint. Sharon knew she was safe. There was no trembling but more confidence as she had been informing the ex federal marshal to leave. Kissing Thomas’ shoulder as he mentioned moving to another exhibit. “Anything you want babe” she said. Sharon was not afraid of being openly affectionate in public but this was deliberate to piss off Jason as she reached up and kissed Thomas. “Don’t mind him babe, he’s just jealous that you keep me warm at night.” she reminded him softly as she cuddled against his neck her fingers tracing his opposite shoulder as she just followed Thomas’ lead. Though Jason was clearly not getting the picture. The other male’s voice was like nails on chalk board. Though Sharon got a bit bold as she untangled from Thomas’ arms hearing Jason’s next words. “You seriously think this is going to work Victoria? You think sleeping with your partner at work is going to get you somewhere.” “Let’s get this straight. My Partner is a good person. He’s a husband and a father and you if you think for one second he’s going to throw it all away for me?” She pointed to Thomas after a moment. “My boyfriend right there would shoot him. No questions asked. Kind of like I feel like shooting you right now.” She snapped. “But I should probably get in line.” Sharon snapped. “Whoa Victoria. Feisty honey.” That is when Sharon snapped and grabbed Jason like she would an uncooperative suspect. He had more training on her but she had a new found confidence up her sleeve. Jason was used to her backing down. Soon she had his head against the wall. “If you EVER think of belittling my boyfriend or my partner again. I will have you arrested.” She snapped. Jason recognized her take down as standard police training. “Wait you are a cop?” he seemed confused. “Nope” she could say it with a straight face because technically she wasn’t a beat cop, she was a detective. She still didn’t have a poker face but she was getting better at turning lies into half-truths that didn’t show on her face. There was perhaps a little too much Voight blood running in her veins now that she had gained a fair bit of confidence over the last year or so. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Thomas smiled and nodded to her when she said anything he wanted, whoever this guy was he was being a pain and Thomas didnt like him one bit. Thomas had nothing against being openly affectionate and he would do so but all he wanted was for Sharon to feel comfortable and with Jason around. It was obvious that something was off other than the fact he kept calling her by her wrong name, one that screamed at him that something was entirely wrong.
He could feel his hold tighten around Sharon as she spoke. “I’d keep you warm at night any time you want.” He said confidently, Sharon was a beautiful woman and if he glared at everyone who might look twice at her then he’d never smile. Still this guy Thomas wanted to punch that was until Thomas heard Jason’s next words. He did his usual, completely quiet and kept that nonchalant look on his face. It was better that people couldnt read him than see that the thought of Sharon being with someone else hurt and it hurt more than he could ever have thought it would.
Thomas felt his grip relax on Sharon as he listened to her barely able to take in what she was saying as his mind suddenly felt like it was elsewhere. Braden was young right? Was it working late? Had he actually found someone to trust again who was now more interested in their work partner than... Thomas stopped himself as he saw Sharon point to him. Oh he would shoot Braden if he had reason to and right at that moment he had enough reason to shoot him and Jason.
“Yes, I’d happily shoot you and be first in line.” Thomas snapped at Jason though he had to admit he was amazed in the turnaround in Sharon. From the woman who had shot him to now he would have been convinced they were two different people though he was proud of how far she had come. In thinking that Thomas remembered seeing Braden a few times, good looking, fit and compared to himself probably a better guy. Was it even possible that Braden and Sharon were?
Thomas watched as Sharon grabbed Jason like a suspect and he listened to the exchange. “NO she’s not a cop just taught how to handle an idiot by one.” Thomas explained deciding that the less Jason knew about Sharon the better as he walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. “He’s not worth it sweetie, just some creep who doesn’t know any better.” Thomas stated glaring at Jason, he wanted to rip his head off among other things as well as now ask about Braden though he knew that was a bad idea from the start. Better to keep quiet and wait to be dumped than to ask and risk finding out the answer any faster.

Thomas’ one eighty in behaviour she didn’t like it. She could tell by the relaxation around her that something was wrong. Sharon forced herself to stand there, a terrified expression on her face. The look of adoration to thinking that maybe she should take off in any given direction. Away from the situation. Jason had her scared and Thomas was letting go. She panicked a little. She turned to run and ran straight into Thomas’ chest before trying to change direction but she wasn’t getting it right she just couldn’t not run into some part of his arm, shoulder, or chest. Jason smirked seeing her get all worked up as she had him still with his hands pulled behind his back. “You have always slept around Victoria. That’s not news” Sharon slammed his head into the wall. Probably a bit too much of Hank showing right about now, but she wasn’t regretting it. “You tried to have me killed. HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE!” she released Jason as she shoved him up against the wall with a lot more force. That’s when she felt an arm on her shoulder. Sharon wanted to relax under it, she tried. She was terrified and her breathing picked up as she started to take deeper and slower breaths. Jason although free of Sharon pinning him thought about going after Sharon he didn’t. Not with Thomas standing there. He was an idiot but he was no fool. The man was intimidating him. Sharon’s hand reached up and intertwined her fingers with Thomas’ on her shoulder. Refusing to turn her back on Jason she stepped towards Thomas. Sharon shook like a leaf. She’d stood up for herself with no one holding onto her, but it scared her. Every emotion etched in her face like stone. Putting her free hand inside her jacket pocket she balled her fist. There was tension it was the same tension she felt when she’d pulled the trigger on Thomas. Jason took off running and Sharon finally buried her head in Thomas’ shoulder and just hugged him close. “Take me home?” there was a pause. “And don’t let go” she whispered in his ear. Her hug tightened, still unsure why he had let go of her. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Thomas could see her terrified expression though all he could think of was the possibility that he had yet again fallen for the wrong woman. He had actually told her he loved her, the three biggest words he had said in his entire life and now her and Braden. Thomas stood there as Sharon ran straight into his chest and every other direction but she didnt seem to get anywhere as he assumed she was trying to get away from what had been said. Was her running a confirmation of it? Was she scared of what he might say or do?
If the news wasn’t going to get any worse Jason had to add that she slept around always. Well it might not have been news to anyone else in the room but it was to him as he did his best to hide any feeling he had toward it at all. Thomas quickly got out from inside his own head as Sharon slammed the guys head into the wall. Like father like daughter he thought though he knew better than to say anything of it. If he hadn’t realised it before then this was the guy that tried to have her killed.
He just wanted to be ten minutes earlier where thoughts of cheating or leaving or killing were way behind him. He was glad to hear her take deeper and slower breaths, Thomas kept a glare on Jason just in case the guy thought about trying anything. Not that he didnt have faith that Sharon could look after herself. Having shoved the guy into a wall and slammed his head against it, no there was no doubt she wasn’t capable though she shouldn’t have to be.
Thomas kept his hand on her shoulder when Sharon stepped toward him, he could feel her shaking like a leave. When Jason finally took off running and Sharon buried her head in his shoulder Thomas hugged her right back. “Home, yes I’ll take you.” He said as he wondered about her ‘dont let go’ whisper as he felt her hug tighten. What was this reverse psychology? Did she want to leave him or not or was he just good enough to get her home, his head as spinning as he hugged her tightly.
All he wanted was for a woman to be honest, hell she had shot him and they had both been honest then. Maybe she just missed that day and this was the next best thing, can’t shoot someone twice without a pattern but break their heart and it’s not a criminal offence. “I won’t let go.” He said, he knew he would have added on ‘I promise’ to those words had it been any other time but then promising anything when he had all but assumed that this was it was something he couldn’t do. Thomas pulled away from her slightly as he moved to walk to the car though he still kept an arm around her though he wasn’t sure how tightly to hold onto her. “Are you alright?” He said not wanting to push too much though it was open ended for an answer or no answer he thought.

Sharon wasn’t sure what to do as Jason ran off. She just held Thomas. But she had to get it all off her chest. Though she waited until Thomas asked before she just started spilling it all out. “No. I just the man who had a hand in trying to kill me come approach me. He’s accusing me of lies. I can’t think straight right now. I’m scared and I have no idea what the hell just happened.” She looked down at the scraps on her hand from the wall she had slammed Jason against. She looked towards him as he moved away. Sharon dropped her arm from around him and sat down in the front passenger seat and just cried. “What he said about my partner and me sleeping around? It’s not true.” She was just getting to the point where she could let Thomas that close to her and look how long that had taken. Sharon knew how much Thomas trusted women. “Please tell me you don’t believe him.” ‘Please tell me you trust me’ she was shaking. It took her a second to explain herself. “He said that… and… you let go of me… what am I supposed to think?” she was making a mess of her words and probably not even remotely close. Her mind was… scared. She’d defended herself and she had scraped knuckles to show for it. Tears were streaming down her face. “Tell me you don’t believe him.” Repeated words as she closed her eyes and tried to push those thoughts from her mind. Why had he let go? Why was she fighting her own battles? It wasn’t that she hadn’t but she felt so vulnerable and he’d only tried to calm her down. Something wasn’t right. Deep breathes came as she tried to calm herself down. Grabbing the jacket that she always wore of his off the seat behind her she cuddled up in it. It was a comfort thing for her when she was scared of something and it helped to calm her. She couldn’t help the tears or the hurt that was pouring out right now. “I love you too much to ever hurt you” she stated. Sharon’s face couldn’t lie so the truth was etched in the hurt. Thomas had no clue what to do or what to think about everything that had been said. He simply waited for the ‘fun while it lasted’ or at least that was the hopeful outcome. There was always the other possibilities of ‘not good enough’ or ‘too much time at work’ or worse because his mind wasn’t exactly thinking of the positives right at that moment. Thomas listened to what Sharon said, scared yes he was scared too and what had just happened? Was life about to fall apart he wondered as he looked at the scrapes on her hand from the wall.
He kept quiet as he got into the drivers seat, what could he honestly say to her about any of it? Did he believe a complete stranger or did he make the assumptions his head had already leapt to. Her crying broke his heart and yet he didnt know who or what to believe in that moment. Thomas looked toward Sharon when she denied it and then asked if he believed Jason or not, it maybe wasn’t so much believe more of finding the fifty reasons why Braden was a lot better than he was. Why he had been there and done all of this before any why was this time any different?
Thomas shook his head though barely enough to be noticed as he sat there facing her as he debated reaching out for her but then was that only going to make everything worse. “Yes he said it and yes I let go... then you shoved the guy into the wall.” He said trying to make any reasoning for letting go of her other than the fact that he was scared to death that he had just found out the hard way she had been with or more interested in someone else. What was she supposed to think he thought as he attempted to at least make a positive out of it.
“You’re supposed to think how impressed and insanely proud I am of you defending yourself like that.” He said as those two things showed on his face despite his initial upset at the thought of what had been said. There was no deny he was impressed and proud of her for what she had done, a year ago he doubted she would have spoken to the guy let alone shoved him into a wall though shooting him was still on the table as he knew how that went.
Thomas watched Sharon as she grabbed the jacket of the seat for any sign that it was true, was she really going with her partner? Thomas couldn’t see it in her face jus the tears as she spoke again. He turned to the car wheel as he held onto it for a moment trying not to completely unload but the minute he looked back at her and he saw the hurt in her face. Any trying just wasn’t enough as he turned to face her again as he held out his arms to her. “I love you too and I dont want to hurt you ever Sharon.” He said trying not to ramble out everything that he thought, yeah like he wasn’t going to do that.
“Sharon you’re the first person I’ve ever said I love you to and meant every single word. Then he says that you and Braden and all I can think is that you work together closely, I get that he’s good looking, smart, has the whole tall dark and handsome thing going for him and I guess I just didnt know what to do or think or...” Thomas rambled as he tried to take a breath, “I shouldn’t have let you go Sharon I’m sorry I just didnt know what else to do. What if you had wanted to leave... I just... panicked. I love you Sharon more than anything else, to the moon and stars and back and wherever you want me to go to prove that to you.” He explained trying to sound calm about it but even he could hear the panic and upset in his own voice.
“I never meant to hurt you Sharon. I love you.” He said finally as he felt silent, he should have kept a hold on her. Fought for her and yes he was more than willing to knock Jason out cold though Sharon seemed to have him under control which left his head to run away in circles with what the guy had said.

Sharon didn’t try to hide her hands, though they stung quite a bit. In her anger, she hadn’t exactly been thinking clearly. How was she supposed to explain them to her dad if he asked. Maybe they would heal before he got a chance to see them. Sharon was oh so quiet as she waited on Thomas to speak. Almost afraid of what he might say. Her eyes followed him around to the driver’s seat. Right now she just wanted someone to hold her, and as strange as it sounded after just scaring the crap out of her ex, she felt like she needed someone to protect her. Words couldn’t be put on the emotions she felt that all etched itself in her face. A face she was trying to hard not to show how hurt she was, but as usual it failed miserably. As Thomas explained what had happened, she just nodded. In her mind, it had all happened and there wasn’t thinking there was just doing. It was hard for Sharon to stand up against people for any reason and much less herself. That she didn’t really think through the whole situation scared her some too, but she wasn’t going to dwell on that. Hearing him from the driver’s side she moved towards him and rested her head on his shoulder. Sharon just nodded at his words. Proud and impressed weren’t really words she would use for just having beat the snot out of someone. The last year had been a turmoil of things for the two. Her head lifted off his shoulder and her hand ran over where her head had just been. It was hard to feel so distant from the person she was sitting beside. Fear pulsed through her as she could hear her dad’s voice in the back of her head. Though part of her wanted to run and hide under Hank’s desk and never come out. But that wasn’t what she was faced with right now. She was as far as picking up her phone but feeling Thomas reach for her she tossed it back on the floor with her things. Sharon heard all the words spill out and she felt herself shaking. “There is a lot of things in my life that I have done, that I am not proud of. But one thing I am is loyal. I’ve given you my heart, and it’s not been easy. There are times I’m scared to death of that. But I love you and to me that means giving you every part of me.” She explained. “Yes I work close with my partner; but should my best friend being a guy really be an issue? We put our lives in each others hands. Yes, I trust him. But he’s like a brother to me. It’s you I gave all of me to.” She wiped her face. “I was scared. I’m still scared. What if I am not enough? Or what if heaven forbid something happens at work. I can’t lose anyone else. Not you, not my dad, not my partner, not Erin. I can’t and I won’t and so help me if any of that falls apart." There was a pause and she tilted her head the curiosity getting the better of her. “Would this even be a conversation if Braden was a female?” She sighed she didn’t really want the answer to that. “I love you too, I love everything about you. You are my tall, dark, and handsome. If I’ve told you once and I’ve told you a thousand times, you have nothing to prove to me. I just have to know you trust me.” They had the same discussion over and over and over and over. “I don’t want you going anywhere. Right here beside me is enough for me” she explained. Bringing up the fact he hadn’t fought for her was only going to make issues worse. He’d been beside her as she’d fought her battle and it was enough to have him beside her. It kind of felt good to stand up for herself for probably the first time in her life. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Thomas could already hear Hank in his head yelling about what had he done or more to the point, what hadn’t he done. In no uncertain terms he hadn’t protected the woman he loved though Sharon had a serious handle on protecting herself. Had he stood in and fixed things with punches thrown it wouldnt have given her a chance to do what he had seen her do though really her being hurt, it wasn’t his best idea. Not that it really was an idea more a reaction to words said.
He could clearly see the emotions etched on her face, she had never been good at hiding them and it was something he loved about her. He knew how hard it was for her to stand up to people which was why he was so impressed when she had done. Jason was a jerk and Thomas wanted to kill the guy for what he had said but it was too late now to even begin that witch hunt. Not that it was beyond him but Sharon was more important to him than any idiot that shot his mouth off. Even if he hadn’t been entirely sure what side of the fence he stood on he did now.
With her head on his shoulder Thomas felt as if the world had done a loop and now everything was right again, just a lot more emotional. He didnt know what he would do if he ever lost her, maybe he would hide for years and just never come out from his apartment ever again. Join a gang and just stay in it for the rest of his days and hope for the best, he had no idea all he knew was that she was his world and losing that wasn’t an option for him not without a fight at least.
Thomas saw her pick up the phone as he winced, Hank it had to be Hank she would call he thought. That meant certain if not sudden death on his part, he could hear the man yelling at him and telling Sharon how awful he was among a list of other things he had against him. Thomas was sure the man just thought up reasons all day of why Sharon was better off without him and given he had let her go, Thomas wasn’t too far behind with his own list of reason why she was better off without him.
He could feel her shaking as Thomas listened to her, hoping and praying she wasn’t about to say enough was enough and that was it. “Sharon how could you ever think that you’d not be enough? You are more than enough, more than I could have dreamed of. If I could only get you to see what I see in you for just five minutes.” He said knowing that losing people was difficult and their jobs didnt exactly scream safety and security. “You wont lose any one of them without a fight and I dont want to loose you. You mean the world to me Sharon.” He said meaning every word.
She had a point in mentioning if Braden was a female. Unfortunately Thomas nodded, “You’re right, it wouldnt have had the same affect but I’ve been there and I just... well i’ve seen Braden and... I know you wouldnt do anything like that. You’re far too honest for that.” He said trying to smile as he held onto her. If he asked her he was sure he would see the answer in her face and so far he had no reason to think she would ever lie to him after all she hadn’t done that so far so why start that now.
“I have everything to prove to you and more now than ever. I love you Sharon and I trust you, I’m just learning how to do that again and sometimes I get it wrong.” He explained knowing that the said this over and over. Then she said those words ‘right here beside me’ as he smiled feeling a little more relaxed though he didnt loosen his grip on her at all. “Sharon Voight I’ve a question to ask you and I’d like an honest answer.” He stated deciding that well the timing wasn’t exactly the greatest but since when did timing and them go together.
“I dont want to lose you or be without you and there’s no place i’d rather be than beside you.” He began trying to make sense of a simple question but then putting his cards out there hadn’t ever been a strong suit until Sharon and she had him falling over himself to simply say I love you. “It’s not the actual thing right now but would you ever consider marrying me?” He asked her before he deciding that if he kept talking it would make it easier if she said no. “Totally your choice and no pressure and if it’s a no then that’s fine but I just want to ask to make sure and with everything about today...” he managed before he had to take a breath and he stopped himself as he gazed at her trying to read her face though panic over her answer prevented him from doing much other than shallow breathing.

Sharon knew if she texted her dad that things would fly to hell in a handbasket faster than the handbasket could be made. She was torn between realizing she could protect herself and still feeling like she needed someone to do it for her. She’d only stood up for herself because Thomas hadn’t stepped in. Sharon could still feel her adrenaline rushing some as she had finally stopped shaking. Pulling Thomas’ jacket up around her to keep her warm she shivered some. Sharon’s mind was racing. Racing along the thoughts that he’d not protected her, and she was still processing what to do with that information. She just reached to lace her hand with his for a moment as she continued to lay on his shoulder. Mark used to hit her, but he was still… protective. Galacio had tried and Mark had put a stop to it. Maybe it was some weird control thing but even that jerk had protected her to some degree. Thomas was far better a man and she didn’t want to lose him. She just wasn’t sure why she had to stand up for herself? Would he have stepped in as things got out of hand? Was he trying to encourage her. ’Maybe he has more faith in you than you do in yourself.’ Her thoughts put her at a bit of ease. When Thomas winced she raised a brow. “Relax babe. I’m not going to call Dad. I wanted the time” she wasn’t lying. She’d THOUGHT about calling her dad but she wasn’t going to do it, and she was curious of the time. She ran a hand down his arm. “Can we order pizza for lunch. I don’t want to cook and I don’t want to go out” she admitted. Sharon listened towards him. “I just feel like I let you down.” She wasn’t sure why she felt like that, but she did. Maybe it was because she wasn’t used to being enough for anyone. As much as she loved her dad, she felt like everything she did was the wrong thing to do. “How did I ever deserve someone like you?” She whispered hugging him tighter. When he said she was right she lifted her head to level her eyes with his as she turned his face. “Thomas look at me. My partner protects me, we are close friends. We work together but you are the one I gave my heart to, and I take that so seriously. I know you never told me women are hard to trust, and if I have told you once I have told you a thousand times. We are teaching each other to trust again, I don’t hold it against you.” She didn’t hold it against him no matter how much it hurt. The hurt she could deal with, watching him walk away… no. When he started talking marriage momentarily her previous marriage flashed before her eyes. She reached for Thomas’ hand and laced her fingers with his and smiled at him. “When you are ready for that step. I have always stood by your side and I always will. But I think giving my dad a heads up might be a better idea” she teased as she nudged him with her head in the shoulder. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

It was like finding your feet when you were old enough to know where they needed to be. Thomas had been that many different people in his life time he was still figuring out himself and trusting someone on top of that. Well the first sign that something might have been wrong he froze not know what to do for the best. Did he fight in defence of someone who could have turned around and told him every word of it was true or take that leap of trust and believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was all lies.
Thomas knew he had made the wrong choice and it was written all over Sharon’s face too as if he needed clear proof of that. When she laced her hand with his he gazed at her, how could she be so nice about it? He hadn’t stepped in when he should have done and even though he was proud she had stepped up for herself she shouldn’t have had to do that at all. He knew the minute the guy raised a hand he would have stepped in but should it have to take that for him to believe her beyond a shadow of a doubt? Not really.
He had absolute faith in Sharon and her ability to protect and look after herself but she shouldn’t have to do that if he was there. Relax, how could he relax when he thought that she was going to leave. “I couldnt blame you if you did call him.” He said knowing that he deserved the screaming and yelling that would probably happen with that call. “Yes pizza would be great, anything you want you can have.” He offered trying to make amends by offering her anything in the world she could possibly want.
Thomas gave her a confused look the moment she spoke about letting him down. “No, you’ve never let me down. I’m the one who let you down the minute I didnt step in and Im sorry Sharon, i’m so sorry for that.” He said honestly as he shook his head, she deserved so much better than him which was one reason he thought she might have found that in her partner at work. A better guy. Thomas hugged her back as he shook his head, “You deserve so much more than me Sharon, I’m the lucky one to even have you look twice at me.” He stated as he listened to her when she levelled her eyes with his.
“I trust you Sharon with all my heart. I’m deadly serious when I say I love you but the thought of you leaving. I just didnt know what to do with that and I froze but I promise it wont happen again. No matter what I wont let anyone hurt you. I’m sorry I failed but I trust you Sharon more than anyone else.” He said knowing he had completely screwed up but he had to make it up to her. How he would do that he had no idea given that it was a pretty big issue that had been caused by him doing nothing at all when he wanted to do everything but just couldnt.
When the conversation turned to marriage Thomas hadn’t a clue what she would say or even do but when she reached for his hand and laced her fingers with his. He simply squeezed her hand and smiled back at her as he nodded. It was then she mentioned telling Hank and yeah, eloping sounded good to him right about then. Running to the hills, moving to a different country or continent was a very good idea as he simply nodded when she nudged him with her head. “So you want me shot again before we get married?” He asked as he kissed the top of her head for a moment.
“Sharon Voight, I am ready right now to take that step with you. I’d even drive us down to the court house and find a judge this minute if you want me to. However I’ll speak to Hank, I just cant guarantee the outcome.” He said deciding that no matter what the man said he would marry Sharon if she wanted him to but it would be nice to have a yes or at least a grunt toward an ‘okay go for it’ from the man.

Sharon didn’t blame him, she didn’t trust as easily as she should. Though she knew without a shadow of a doubt that she trusted Thomas. Sighing she looked towards him before laying her head back down on his shoulder. Right now she was just trying to forget they were fighting. She was hurt but she was a lot stronger now, despite the emotions etched in her face she was fighting for what she felt was right. Jason had raised his hand towards her and she had finally stood up for herself. Sick of everything that came with a raised a hand, finally having the confidence to push back. People were human they made mistakes, Sharon recognized it. Deep down she gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and believed in people. She believed in Thomas, and he’d never given her reason to think otherwise. They were in things together. They were dysfunctional but without dysfunctional she wouldn’t know how to be them. Sharon raised her brow. “Thomas. Our relationship is ours. Yours and mine. Not my dad’s. Running to him doesn’t always solve things” she knew sometimes it made her feel better but it caused a whole lot of other things too. “Don’t make this about me..” she stated when he said he would give her anything she wanted. “You are apologizing without apologizing.” She gave him a light glare. Sharon hated apologies. When he said that she deserved better she violently shook her head no. “I have the most amazing boyfriend. Just because we are both a little damaged doesn’t mean I deserve someone else. We both have someone who fights to make the other one a better person; despite mistakes that make us human. Do not ever think you are not good enough for me Thomas.” With that comment she buried her head in his shoulder. Emotions were running high but she knew the one thing she didn’t want to do was let go of him. “I’m not leaving babe. You can’t even put a bullet in me and chase me away” she teased making light of how they had met. “It didn’t turn you away and it sure as hell won’t make me leave either.” She meant that. “You’ve never let anyone hurt me.” She showed him her arms and her neck and almost everywhere her clothes didn’t cover. “Not a mark on me, bruise from running into the wall yesterday on my hip doesn’t count” Okay so Sharon was a bit of a clutz at times. Hearing his words as he kissed the top of her head she shook her head. “I think he would be more apt to shoot you if you didn’t ask” she reminded him. Right now she wanted nothing more than to just be held. Even if she had fought for herself she was still reeling with the adrenaline and not being used to handling everything that came with it. “I would right now but I think that doing things the right way, will be much better in the long run. I don’t want to regret not having dad there. I know you two don’t always see eye to eye, but he is and always will be my dad.” she explained. Sharon didn’t want to even think of how much that would hurt her dad by running off and eloping. If Thomas could stand up and do things the right way? Maybe her dad would… see what Sharon saw in Thomas, or at least part of it. The part that made him such an amazing person. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Thomas never liked their fighting and especially not this time, he knew it was his fault and that he had to live with. It simply wasn’t just the fact that another guy had gotten to him over Sharon, it was what he had said and the fact that he didnt step in to help her. He didnt step in to protect his own girlfriend form some random guy who was annoying her. Thomas was glad in a way it had given her a chance to stand up for herself but at the same time he was annoyed with himself for doing nothing to help.
It felt like sometimes it was the three of them, Sharon, Hank and Thomas but he understood it. If he found that he had a daughter after not knowing for years then he would be protective. It didnt help but he understood why though when Sharon stated not to make it about her he didnt know what to say or do. “I want to apologize, you’ve no idea how sorry I am for not stepping in.” He said knowing there was an equal amount of guilt in there too. He had left her to deal with her own battle and that just wasn’t him, he had frozen on something he should have trusted her on and now he was trying to say sorry and he was even ruining that too.
It was the moments like that where Thomas had no idea what she saw in him, why she wasn’t running away at the speed of light. It wasn’t anything that he didnt deserve given what he had done. Thomas held onto her when she spoke about having the most amazing boyfriend, more like idiot or stupid or foolish but he couldnt help but smile. “I just want to be good enough for you and I completely failed you today.” He said when she buried her head into his shoulder. “So today, I’m not good enough.”
It was one of those things, if he failed today what made him think tomorrow would be any different. He knew he would fight for her no matter what but if all it took were some words to have him practically useless then what good was he. Thomas chuckled as she spoke of how they had met, “No i’d take any bullet for you Sharon, I might even let you shoot me again because it was worth it the first time.” He stated with a smile as he relaxed some with her words of not leaving.
“No and I promise you I wont let anyone hurt you and yes the wall counts. I wasn’t there and look what happened.” He protested though he knew he couldnt protect her from walls but still he was sure that he wouldnt let anything happen to her as long as he could help it. Hearing what Hank might do if he didnt ask he rolled his eyes. “Shot if I do and shot if I don’t.” He sighed with a grin, “Told you it was worth a second bullet.” Well he would ask and that was all he could do he thought. The right way about things and just hope for the best outcome possible.
Thomas kept his hold on Sharon as he nodded, “He’ll be there and sure we dont always agree but we do when it comes to you sometimes.” He said positively, yes if it came to looking after Sharon then they usually agreed which made things a little awkward but still. There was one person that could make them work together it was Sharon. “I’ll ask him Sharon but it doesn’t matter what answer he gives, I’d love nothing more than to marry you.” He said as he kissed the top of her head as he held her running a hand up and down her arm slowly.

Sharon looked up at him when he said he wasn’t good enough. “Don’t you dare start with me Thomas” she stated. She knew he was FBI but she had no idea what he did with them. It wasn’t like he could tell her. She was okay with that and she trusted him. That was good enough for her. Sharon had always taken everything he had said and didn’t ask questions. Knowing she couldn’t. This was no different. “You’ve always been good enough for me” she’d argue that point until the cows came home. When Thomas spoke about taking more bullets she shook her head. “I’m not shooting you again.” She stated pointedly. Grabbing him by the shoulders she fixated her gaze into his. Her face softened into his. Reaching for his hand she flipped it over and smiled. Before she had shot him, shooting people had been out of the question. “I was scared that day of something happening to you and now it’s the same.” Well it was for a different reason, but that went without saying. Sharon nodded when he said he would talk to Hank. There was a smile on her face. The red head wrapped her arms around his neck a bit tighter. Though it dawned on her that she didn’t even know his last name. One of those things he’d never mentioned, probably for UC reasons. “We should go home?” Usually that meant her apartment. Kissing the side of his face she pulled back and laid down across the seats with his jacket overtop of her. Laying down while someone else drove was a habit and just kept her from being motion sick. It was also comforting in an odd sort of way. Sharon was trying to put all the pieces of things together and it just always felt as soon as she did that one side went limp, spilling everything else out of place and she was right back where she started. Though she started random conversation, which wasn’t out of the ordinary. “Sometimes I wonder what things would be like if I’d grown up in Chicago. For once I can finally call a city ‘home’ but it’s still such a foreign place” She’d been so confused after flipping on Galacio. Then within only a few months of living here in the city she’d ended up in the FBI office. Her whole life changed and every time things changed.. She had to start all over. Deep down, she was scared of too much change. Marriage was change and it was a name change and part of that scared her because of what she associated with new beginnings. “Some days I wake up wondering how I can stop things from changing. I’m finally getting used to things like they are.” Though their relationship had been through so much change, but it hadn’t been fast. Her hand rested on the inside of his thigh as she listened with her eyes closed. Sometimes she fell asleep but sometimes she just babbled. Today she was talkative in the car. It was nice to feel like she could express herself without being judged. Something that had been a long time coming. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0
