“Woah a whole hundred, I mean sure thanks it’s a hundred more than I would have. Here was me going to share the loot but now... maybe just the hundred too.” He replied grinning as he chuckled knowing he would share whatever win he got little or big. “Yeah I’ll get the tickets, at least that way one of us might be able to buy a whole new rig. Gold wheels, bigger lights and sirens... maybe even spinning rims.” Steven sure he liked cars to a point but he preferred his cars with more of a safety feature first rather than style. Steven thought about what Kelle had said, they could find men like that if they existed which for the sake of mankind they had to exist somewhere right? “Yeah see that’s what I’d want for them but what if their taste in guys for them is different to their own. It’s not like I can background check them before they find them...” He muttered though actually it did seem like a better plan than wait and see. He knew his sisters had good sense, self worth and hopefully if he had managed things okay a good idea of what guy not to go for. It was the last part that worried him though at least he knew he was still young enough to show them the door without having to wave a walking stick at them. “Sort of, for a few years at least but that’s what worries me. Ha you’ve worked with me so you can see why I worry about them.” He joked as he grinned, he had been sad to see them leave and worried sick too because it was one thing to worry when they were all under the same roof but when they left. He had hardly slept; worried every time the phone rang and he was sure he almost had a heart attack on the hour every hour for the first few months. He was the worried one about them, especially when he struggled to recognise the adults they were with the memories of the kids he had grown up with. Kelle Lindsay, EMTP ,

"Get them a kitten," Kelle muttered as she leaned back, closing her eyes. Chocolate and caffeine were quickly wearing off. "For prospective suitors, I mean...you can't trust anyone who is mean to a kitten, and if a guy gets all fuzzy over a kitty, well, he can't be all that bad!" She chuckled, then added, "But don't mind if they don't ever find a guy...it's not all that, and I think it's better to be blissfully single than in a bad relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship." Shrugging, she chuckled. "Me...give me a bunch of cats and call me the 'Crazy Cat Lady'! But I said that, didn't I? Guess that's something to play by ear...Might not mind having kids, but I'd have to quit work, and where would that leave you?" Steven Hudson

Steven looked at Kelle like she had just sprouted horns, a kitten as much as he thought that was a good idea he had no clue as to why he would do that. Then all he had to do was listen and to her and he found his answer. “Oooh you’re onto something, kittens it is then. You’re right and if they are mean to the kitten then at least everyone will know they’re a bad guy.” He stated nodding in agreement, “Genius, you’re a genius... that’s my next job kittens.” “Finally a woman who has sense. I mean I can’t say from the female perspective but as a guy, yeah there is a lot more to life than finding a guy I just wish I could convince my sisters. Not that I think they are hell bent on it but I’d be happy if they were single for life.” He said not sure if they would be happy that way but at least they would safe in his eyes, no heart break, no guy to put them down in any way. So he was perhaps the crazy older brother that no guy would ever be good enough for his sisters but there had to be one crazy person in the family. Steven laughed as she spoke about being the crazy cat lady. “Exactly, I’d be back to the work partner search so thanks for thinking of me there” He said chuckling, “Even with a bunch of cats i’d never say you were the crazy cat lady but I’m sure there’s someone out there for you. As I keep saying every princess has to kiss a few frogs before they managed to find a prince... or at least as the frog here I tell myself that.” He said smirking. Kelle Lindsay, EMTP,

"Oh, eww...can't say that kissing frogs is something I would do, even if it was the only way to find a prince! Present company excepted, of course." Then she laughed. "I wonder how you would so with kittens? Probably turn to mush!" Yes, he had a reputation, but she had no doubt that he was a good guy, it was just going to take time and the right lady. "And as for you sisters, aren't you going to want nieces and nephews to spoil? Better than having your own kids, right, because you can give them anything they want, feed them sugar, teach them to belch then give them back!" Steven Hudson

“Aww you think I’m a prince... I’m flattered.” He said grinning at her as he chuckled, “Mush never... I mean kittens are cute but mush nope no way. Too tough for mush.” So given the right occasion yes he did turn to mush over things. Kittens, puppies, anything cute really and that was staying far away from any movie that had the power to make him cry. Steven knew he had been around a bit and kissed a few female frogs at times too but then if there was a princess out there for him. Well they needed to find him or him to find her though really given it would likely be bad day if he showed up with work then it was perhaps safer that he stayed far away from it. “Nieces and nephews, since you put it like that then sure it would be cool. Getting to be the cool uncle and like you say hand them back when they eat too much sugar. I think I can teach them a few rhymes too just in case school gives them boring ones.” He joked knowing it would be some of the first things he did. “Oooh belching, good one... you know it wouldn’t be half bad.” He stated thinking about it. “Aww you think I’m a prince... I’m flattered.”"Frog, maybe," Kelle muttered with a grin. “Mush never... I mean kittens are cute but mush nope no way. Too tough for mush.”"Ah, right, the 'manly man!" She laughed, then shrugged. "No sense in rushing things, though, right? Be happy with family." “Nieces and nephews, since you put it like that then sure it would be cool. Getting to be the cool uncle and like you say hand them back when they eat too much sugar. I think I can teach them a few rhymes too just in case school gives them boring ones.” He joked knowing it would be some of the first things he did. “Oooh belching, good one... you know it wouldn’t be half bad.”"Yeah, and when your sisters yell at you, just tell them you're teaching them the alphabet! After all, just the song is boring, but what red-blooded kid wouldn't go all out to learn to belch the alphabet?" Looking over at him, she laughed. "That's why I don't think I'd make a good parent...I'd have fun, but I wouldn't take any guff off the buggers. Heck, I'm the sort to read diaries and take the bedroom door off the hinges if they act up. Trouble in school? Mom's going to show up in her moo-moo, fuzzy slippers and curlers to keep an eye on little Johnny!" Kelle Lindsay, EMTP,

“A frog, seriously?” He asked grinning, well maybe he could see that but then again being a frog was at least better than a tadpole. It could always get worse, it was wording he lived by on shift and if anyone said there was no way then they were all doomed for the rest of shift. “Yip exactly, happy with family and besides if I had a plus one then that means that family time for annoying me sisters might get cut down. Can’t have that.” He said not too sure he was willing to give up that torment just yet. They were still his little sisters and there were job requirements to being big brother. “You’d be a great parent you know that and sure I can see my sisters going nuts if I did that so that is the plan for the future. They need kids so I can steal them for an afternoon teach them all the bad stuff and hand then back like nothings happened. Belch alphabet is great.” Steven said chuckling, on this was a plan of plans to deal with children. “You’d make a fantastic parent trust me on that. And no guff taken at all besides you have to read their diaries because it’s not like they will tell you anything.” He explained, “Just make sure to put it back exactly where you found it and don’t directly jump into the subject, my sisters diaries made an interesting read at times.” Okay so more of a case is there an issue sort of read but still he had to do it because what if he had to fix something? It was hands on parenting or he had no idea what to do so it was and kind of parenting he could do. “So you’re that scary parent... I mean sure you’d look great in a moo-moo, fuzzy slippers and curlers but little Johnny might be a little put off and I don’t see any parent challenging you on it.” He said with a smirk though to be honest it was fair in his mind. Kelle drew in a breath, looking at him in surprise. "You read your sisters' diaries?" Shaking her head, she made 'tisking' sounds. "Man, I don't know if I want to be your partner any more...I mean, dude, you're going straight to Hell, and anyone with you at the time is just collateral damage!" Laughing, she leaned away from him. "I wonder how far 'Collateral' goes. Man, I hope they're not coming for you now!" She laughed again. "Now, as a Mom, reading my kids' private writings is acceptable, but you're a boy!" Oh, this was great fun, needling him, and he wasn't going to distract her by stroking her ego. She looked over at him, a little more serious, but still grinning. "Were they really that wild that you had to spy on them. Steven Hudson,

Steven glanced at Kelle as he heard her draw in a breath and tisk at him, what had he done? He was being responsible in knowing what was going on in their heads at the time. “Yeah I did, what’s wrong with that?” He asked her looking a little surprised. “Are you serious right now? You’ve no issue in what we did earlier, I can’t keep a partner, I knocked the guy who hurt my sister around and you’re taking offence at me reading a diary?” He asked not sure if it was a more serious offence to have done that than any of the above. Then again the straight to hell part he could understand, he had no issues with what but collateral damage, no that was far from good. “Oh trust me, you’re an angel there’s no chance you’ll catch my collateral at all. Besides you’ve stuck with me so far.” He said with a grin as he furrowed his brow. “Yeah well I had to know what was going on and is it my fault that they write in these things? I mean they tell that piece of paper more than they do me so you know... if I screw up then I know about it. That’s if they didn’t tell me but they usually told me.” He explained as at the time it seemed like a good idea. Maybe not so much now to admit to but then again if they left them to be found by him, was it not just visible evidence. “Wild, you have no idea.” Steven said chuckling for a moment, no they had their moments but all in all they were great. “Not wild but then what’s the saying, it’s always the quiet ones... so I was just doing by human best to know they were alright. If along the way I found out that they had a crush on this guy and hated me for my awful cooking skills. Least I know they are alright.” He stated grinning, nope this was something he should have kept entirely quiet he thought. Kelle Lindsay, EMTP,

You’ve no issue in what we did earlier, I can’t keep a partner, I knocked the guy who hurt my sister around and you’re taking offence at me reading a diary?”"Oh, man," she declared, "huge difference between beating up the piece of crap that hurt your sister and reading her secret thoughts and hopes." She shook her head, not that she was going to run out because of it. "I mean, really, if I'd had a brother, reading my diary would have been grounds for justifiable homicide!" “Oh trust me, you’re an angel there’s no chance you’ll catch my collateral at all. Besides you’ve stuck with me so far.” He said with a grin as he furrowed his brow. “Yeah well I had to know what was going on and is it my fault that they write in these things? I mean they tell that piece of paper more than they do me so you know... if I screw up then I know about it. That’s if they didn’t tell me but they usually told me.” "Yeah," she shook her head, giving him a sly look, "not buying that..." “Wild, you have no idea.” Steven said chuckling for a moment, no they had their moments but all in all they were great. “Not wild but then what’s the saying, it’s always the quiet ones... so I was just doing my human best to know they were alright. If along the way I found out that they had a crush on this guy and hated me for my awful cooking skills. Least I know they are alright.”"You know, you could probably just have talked to them." She glanced over at him, then shrugged. "Guess it was hard, though, being the 'man of the family'. I mean, it's one thing to be a parent, but you were just a kid, and you took on a lot of responsibility...I don't know if I could have done it." She shrugged again, then laughed. "But I'm an angel, so I guess you must be forgiven or you would have gotten some asshole for a partner, right?" Steven Hudson,

Steven watched Kelle closely as he tried to think of a reason why reading a diary could be such a bad thing. “Woah justifiable homicide? Okay they are never to know because I know they might be capable of holding a grudge and if I am to be killed, I’d rather the motive isn’t twenty years old.” He said grinning though now he was hearing this side of the argument, yes he could see how it might be read as a bad thing. The right reasons in his mind but the wrong ones for the person who’s private thoughts he was invading. “How about this, if you catch any of my collateral then you’ve my permission for justifiable homicide?” He offered grinning, then again given what had gone on so far it was just as likely that his luck might rub off on her and then. Yes the two of them with IA jammed firmly in there business and all for doing someone a favour off the books. Nope better to steer clear of all cops, keep his head down and try to get on in life the right way or at least his way which so far had won him no favours. “Oh you mean like talk as in a conversation with them... sure I thought of that but then what if they lied to me. Got to go to the source of all truth.” He said grinning though sure in hindsight it was a pretty stupid thing for him to have done given there could be a price on his head if either of them found out at all. “It’s family, you do what you have to at the end of the day and really it was as much fun as it was tough. The whole parent thing though, don’t think I met that bar at all, more like hapless bothers who had no clue what was right or wrong and just went with it anyway.” He said grinning again. There had been no handbook to go from so he did what he had seen over his years, yes he might not have always been conventional but still. Both sisters were alive and well and not scarred for life as far as he knew. Therapy maybe but then if they were they kept it quiet. “Exactly and you’re not an asshole at all. You’re tough, kind and amazing and stuck with me so who did you kill in a previous life to deserve this?” He asked her smirking lightly, “But yeah thanks for sticking around. It means a lot and from what I’ve seen so far. You’re a great partner.” He stated. Kelle Lindsay, EMTP,

"Eh, too hard to break in a replacement." She grinned at him, shrugging. Actually, for all the chaos, she didn't have a particular problem with him, and she enjoyed his skewed sense of humor. Not only that, he treated her with respect and, well, as a partner and not a girl who couldn't handle the job, and that counted for a lot. "Besides, seems to me like you're the sort to keep an eye on, gather dirt, then use it to blackmail you for something better than chocolate and caffeine!" She was joking, of course, but maybe... "Just promise me not to read my diary, all right?" She laughed. Steven Hudson,

Steven laughed, well he was broken in he guessed as he shrugged and sighed. “Thanks at least I know I’m safe for now.” He stated glad that she had skipped the stage of asking for a transfer within the first shift. Now all he had to do was get through a second shift just to be sure there was no chance of her escaping and all would be well. There was no doubt in his head that she could handle the job or she would never have made it that far. Yes there were those occasion where everyone needed encouragement and those stressful times when a raised voice snapped someone back to reality but so far Kelle had been fantastic. “Oh well thanks for letting me in on the plan and if you want something better than chocolate and caffeine then you just have to say. Three course alfresco ambulance dining heading your way Miss Lindsay.” He replied smirking as he nodded profusely. “Of course now I know it’s a reason for murder. No reading your diary but if you bring it with you... it could be classed as fair game?” He asked her grinning knowing he would never dare for a colleague but his sisters that was different though that was a long time ago. "Is that so?" Kelle raised an eyebrow as she glanced at him, wondering if he really would do that, then thinking that maybe she'd keep a 'dummy' journal along with her real one, that had fabricated, juicy tidbits amid scathing comments about him to teach him a lesson, or just to torment him! Of course, from what she'd seen of him so far it could actually turn into a game. "I never keep a journal anyway," she commented dryly as she reached into her backpack and pulled out a small notebook with kitties on the cover. "So..." she took out a pen and opened the book, "dear diary..." Glancing at Steven, she asked, "Just what is al fresco ambulance dining? And really, more than food, I need a god like Thor who can wield a hammer on my front porch!" Steven Hudson,

“Oh yeah, because tonight or tomorrow or end of shift... I’m writing a note to say Kelle knows who did it.” Stevens said with a smirk, “That way people know who to look at first. I might even write a list of things I might have done wrong in life, including reading diaries just so the suspect pool is wide.” Given some of the cops in Chicago it was likely safer not to leave as scrap of paper around pointing a finger as he never knew what any day would bring. If the worst did happen to him then having the cops poking around anyone who would never have done it in a million years. No, that was far from his smartest move of the day. “You don’t?” He asked figuring that she would have done but then he never had, writing his thoughts on paper had never really been his style to work through things. “So now I know what it looks like...” He teased smirking though maybe he would just take a small peak to make sure he was going to have a partner the next day. Did people really write ‘going to do a swap this week’ or ‘Steven in a nut case’ though the second one he could hardly deny. “Al fresco ambulance dining, Kelle there’s so much you have to learn.” He said with a sigh, “You either pre pack it all before shift and take it with you, stick your tin of beans in the engine and hope for the best or you find the nearest food vendor, open the back doors of the ambulance and sit out in the sunshine eating Chicago’s finest pizza or burger.” Steven had perhaps eaten far too much street food for it to be good but then fast and quick made for an easy life. Pre packed although healthier and fun took time to unpack and sort out. “If you’re looking for a god then look no further.” He stated with the biggest grin on his face. “Get me a cape and a hammer and I’ll make mince meat of the porch.” With that he did his best muscle pose as he thought about what he had said. “Is the porch being laid or demolished?” He asked her just in case he did take a hammer to it in entirely the wrong way.
