Location - Detective Desks Time - 11.00am Blue sky and sunshine. Chicago had finally seen that glorious sunshine and business was bustling at precinct 21. The squad cars lined up outside, shiny and washed for the day ahead. Sgt. Platt was giving out the assignments to patrol for the new shift and dealing with incoming enquiries. It was a full house of detectives, officers and civilians all going about daily life. Filing reports, asking for help, working on cases and paperwork. No one had really noticed the large van drive into the garage. Checked at the gate as a pickup of evidence for central storage the paperwork was in order as the van was let through the gate. It drove down into the lot, missing the first space it needed to take to make the pickup. Instead it drover further into the garage that sat directly under the precinct. It parked up next to the elevator for the parking structure and to the far side of the van was the structural column. The very beam that if damaged could cause a catastrophic failure to the foundations of the building. The driver got out walking back up to the check point as they tapped a box of cigarettes and motioned to the corner across the street. What was a five minute smoke break the cop of duty thought, it would take ten to fifteen to check the evidence out and into the van anyway. A polite nod and smile at the driver in the base ball cap as he watched the man make his way across the street. The cop went back to checking the paperwork seeing the signature was missing from the evidence lock up across town. He took two steps to try and catch the driver before the explosion hit and sent him flying into the concrete wall. The sound of crumbling and falling, screaming voices and the cloud of dust and debris that seemed to go on forever as the air was pushed out of the building to be replaced with fire, smoke and dust. Tanner Sutherland, (help) Shani McGuire, (help) Anthony Romano, (victim of explosion) Amanda Rollins,(victim of explosion) (No one dies just injured if you want your character to be, only victims can be injured. [attr="class","atar"] Amanda passed the paperwork over to Tony. "None of this makes any sense. If the guy is guilty then why is Horacio covering for him. Last I checked that had something to do with some gang war or something." She shrugged. "You don't possibly think this girl's rape touches that do you?" She’d seen worse, and she’d seen far more illogical conclusions than what she was thinking. Amanda got up from her desk to go pace around a bit and try to come to some logical sense about this whole mess.
She’d taken three steps when soon she was watching her life fast forward. Too much of a fast forward that it was a blur, until it wasn’t. Then it was the slow motion of cries for help. Amanda realized that she couldn’t go help them. Her eyes were heavy but so was her leg. She was trapped and pinned but the moment she had a breath to use she called out for Tony. “Tony! Tony can you hear me?” There was no way she could get to her partner but she needed to know he was alright. Panic set in, Amanda searched around and everything just felt like it was closing in. No, she wasn’t claustrophobic but this had to be what it felt like.
“Tony!” she called out again. If anyone could hear her calling out for her partner they might find her and know too that she wasn’t the only one there. Delirious shapes started to take place as she laid her head down. There were coughs. She could feel something pooling up beside her. Dammit that was blood. Though she couldn’t tell that the slow bleed was not anywhere near life threatening, she could only tell that she couldn’t reach to stop it. She really should have taken Fin up on his offer this morning of playing hookie from work. | Rollins notes |

Taking the paperwork Amanda had passed him Tony just nodded. “Well it could do, you know how those gangs operate. Women aren’t really looked at as humans, more property so it depends on who benefits from this.” Tony added lost in thought about it, he was unsure how he felt about knowing there was worse in the world and almost feeling like telling the kid that himself. There was worse but to her, he knew it was the worst he could be. That side never got any easier though Tony stayed at his desk, deciding it was better to settle a moment than to pace. Tony had just about enough time to watch Amanda take that third step, open his mouth and then... then he was unsure what happened. The roof came down or the floor gave way or the desk that was there was gone. Tony was unsure where he even was as he glanced over himself to see the piece of desk sticking roughly out of his side. It was like an outer body experience, he was there but he was far from understanding. He even reached out to touch the piece of wood that was stuck there. He wished he had done anything other than as the silence and lack of feeling were quickly replaced. The cries for help, the sudden overwhelming feeling of pain in his side and shoulder as he groaned trying to move. He heard Amanda calling for him but it took him a moment to find her, the dust and destruction that had been an office or a desk or even his chair. He had no clue where that went but he was flat out with a headache, a pain in the side and a foreign object lodged within him. Not his typical work day as he wondered what had possessed him to move to Chicago. Coughing into his hand he noticed the blood as he did his best to wipe it away to join the other slowly seeping wound. First rule of first aid, tough nothing and press on the bleeding. Tony heard his name again with pulled him from his own mind and staring at the piece of desk. “Amanda!” He called out coughing through his intake of breath. “Amanda talk to me.” He called as he slowly managed to crawl to where he saw her blonde hair. It seemed to that there was everything in his way but she was his partner, not even a stake to the side would stop him from getting to her. Tony shook his head as he tried to move next to her pushing a few things out of his way though ever movement seemed to hurt worse than the last. “Amanda, can you move?” He asked trying to ask the right questions though his mind was trying to catch up. [attr="class","tannernah"] [attr="class","tannerleft"] [attr="class","tannerleft2"] | [attr="class","tannerright"] Tanner couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Excuse me? You're pregnant -- Boden put you on leave." It wasn't something Beth could just decide to put a stop to herself. He felt a sneeze coming on before he could finish putting an end to this foolishness. Once Tanner had gotten that out of the way, he picked up where he had left off. "You're not going anywhere."But Beth was already up and grabbing her keys. "I am going. I'm not going to be stupid about it, but they are short-staffed. I don't have time to argue with you about this."The news still played the graphic images -- a never-ending loop that spurred him from the place he was comfortably nestled on the couch and into a sitting position. Sick or no, scores of people were out there injured. Dying. He couldn't lay there doing nothing -- it wasn't in his DNA. His job was to help people. To save lives. That's exactly what he planned to do. "If you walk out that door, I'm following you.""We don't need you spreading the plague. Last time I checked pregnancy wasn't contagious."Tanner gave Beth a less than amused look. "I don't have the plague," he grumbled, as the door closed behind Beth, watching her leave to render what aid she could to the victims of the bombing. Feeling the sudden rush of weakness as he stood up too quickly, ignoring Beth's warning, Tanner pushed past it, throwing on a pair of old jeans and a department t-shirt. He could do this; he just needed to grab his car keys and make his way down to the apartment's parking garage without passing out. The precinct, when Tanner finally got there, was the epitome of chaos. The building itself -- what was left of it, at least -- was unrecognizable. Smoke and dust still curled up from the ground, marking ground zero. "Shani!" Tanner called out to the paramedic he saw first -- Beth's partner -- who was already diligently tending to the injured. The number of casualties the first responders pulled from the building would soon begin to outweigh the number of bodies they had to provide aid, if they didn't already. Tanner sneezed again into his arm. No doubt the Israeli-born woman would give him an earful for showing up like this, when he was supposed to be home recovering, but at least he hadn't stumbled across Boden first. That would have probably ended with Tanner getting locked inside the fire truck. Much better to have found Shani first. He wouldn't be sorting through the rubble in his condition, but he could prove emergency first aid. Post by Shani McGuire on Feb 10, 2018 11:08:16 GMT
Shani had been working the extra shift, 2nd into 3rd for staffing levels. The kids were with the McGuire family which in reality had become her baby sitters for life she guessed. Then again the grandparents were always happy to have two grandkids to stay though she knew that morning it was more a get ready for school chaos. Shani had everything ready for them, labelled in bags for that morning but then working an extra shift. She would now be playing catch up at home once shift ended that evening. If it ever did though when the call came through and every ambulance and fire truck was heading to the twenty first. That evening was looking more like another day to her. They were down Beth, Tanner and whoever else was out that day though she Beth it was best she was kept as far away from this as possible. Yes she missed her partner but then again pregnant and falling concrete was a bad combination. Shani was pulling her kit from the back of the ambulance among the chaos when she heard Tanners voice call her name. “Lieutenant?” She called back shaking her head as she never expected to see him there at all. He was sick and the sort of sick that she called plague because really, yeah she had kids and hardly wanted to content with their school plagues than a fire house lieutenants. Shani watched as she raised her brow when he sneezed into his arm, yeah case and point he needed to go home and stay with Beth. Gah if the woman knew she was working with Tanner and not giving him an earful, sometimes life was just a bad choice after another. There were too many people and the medics were already split down to one each along with the fire departments so her choice was limited. Have someone die because there would be no help, or let the plague Lieutenant help out and risk getting her butt kicked by her partner later. “We need about another hundred but yeah could use a hand.” Shani said as she went back to the ambulance and pulled out the oxygen tank throwing it over her shoulder as she held the two other bags and folded stretcher. The yellow back board might have been great but space and hands were hardly allowing for everything at once. The fabric make shift one would do until they were outside again. “You shouldn’t be here Tanner, you should be home with Beth looking after her and trying not to infect half of Chicago. Honestly you fire-fighters need to take a day off occasionally.” Shani stated having never been one to keep her opinions to herself. “But since you’re here, get your kit on and don’t even think about coming with me without an O2 mask. I’m not getting the blame for this stunt if you choke on the smoke and dust, all due respect sir.” Shani stated, Lieutenant or not Shani would still talk to him like she would anyone else and more so given the fact she felt he was crazy for trying to work today. “And we’re heading to the detective desk area. Think you can manage it?” Shani asked a slight teasing tone as she took a few steps toward the unrecognizable building. She would make sure to keep a close eye on the guy, not just because he was sick which was crazy but they needed the help. It was the fact he was her partners guy and that sort of made things a little more personal. Especially when she guessed she would get an earful from Beth about letting him near the scene. The smoke and dust seeming like a movie set as she tried not to worry about the people she knew in there. No they each had their jobs to do it was just a matter of getting in there and getting it done. Amanda Rollins, Anthony Romano, Tanner Sutherland,

[attr="class","Bethner"] [attr="class","Bethner1"] [attr="class","Bethback"] [attr="class","Bethnert"] Of course Gabby had threatened her with the Chief but they were short staffed and Beth could help. Fine, she’d go find Tanner and Shani. Sure her partner would be a lot less understanding and her fiance would probably kill her but at least they wouldn’t bother Boden. Beth came up beside the two. “Don’t even say it. You know we need the help. I’m keeping in mind to watch out for myself and the baby.” Beth gave Tanner a look. She wasn’t expecting it to be all rainbows and roses. But at least he didn’t yell like Gabby scaring her half to death. She was pretty certain she could barely look that other medic in the eyes. Beth hated yelling above everything else. After everything she’d been through, yelling only made her feel trapped. Which was why she ran to the safest place possible. Tanner’s side. “Whatever you do, please don’t yell at me. I will stay right here where you can see us.” Her words were directed at Tanner and so help her if Shani yelled at her too, she wasn’t sure she could handle anymore people yelling at her. “Fire department call out!” She decided that her voice being much stronger than Tanner’s they could at least work as two halves of one person. “Don’t strain your voice.” Beth who was ordinarily very soft spoken could project her voice if she really wanted to do so. She couldn’t bark orders well at patient’s quite yet but she could make sure she could be heard when people were in trouble. Watching her step, she heard the simmering reports of gunfire. Whatever that had been about was under control now but she doubted that was going to help her case. “Fire department! Call out!” She boomed away from Tanner’s ear so she didn’t deafen him with her high pitched booming. Oh this place was enough to make even those without weak stomachs sick. She had to hold herself together. [attr="class","Bethner2"] [attr="class","Bethnerlyric"]I could fly higher than an eagle because You're the wind beneath my wings

[attr="class","tannernah"] [attr="class","tannerleft"] [attr="class","tannerleft2"] | [attr="class","tannerright"] "Long story," Tanner called out. Explaining that Beth had been the one to walk out the door of their apartment first – that he'd come here looking for her, but also to provide what help he could – would probably go over like a lead balloon. Shani would, no doubt, accuse them both of being crazy, and maybe they were, but neither was she about to turn away another set of hands. The injured were too badly in need. For a moment, Tanner could see the conflict etched on her face. "No time, but it looks like you could use a new partner."The way Shani started giving out orders to him, you'd think she was the Lieutenant here. The opinionated woman never failed to express her viewpoint, but if those instructions kept her from reporting to Boden, then Tanner could learn to live with them. "Yes, ma'am," Tanner smartly replied, already grabbing his gear. The last item he took from the truck was an O2 mask – the one thing Shani insisted he bring with him – before moving to join the paramedic. Tanner recognized a teasing tone when he heard one, but the comment still earned Shani an exaggerated sigh. Just because he was sick didn't mean he was going to fall over dead, or whatever else she thought might happen. He rolled his eyes, coming up on her six. He could keep up just fine – wherever they were headed. "Right behind you, Shani."As Tanner and Shani advanced on the unrecognizable precinct, the soft-spoken voice coming from his right could only belong to one person. It seemed liked Shani would be getting a clearer picture of that long story, as their team of two increased by one. Tanner didn't yell at Beth when she planted herself at his side, but he remained firm with his orders. Tanner was already breaking the rules by being here himself. The last thing he wanted was his fiancée putting their unborn child at risk. Per department policy, a pregnant firefighter or paramedic was put on immediate leave, but Beth wasn't wrong: they needed the help. If Shani could be flexible, then so could he. "You stay within three feet of me at all times. You even think about moving further than that, I send you home. Understood?" To Beth alone, in a softer tone approaching a whisper, Tanner added another sentiment – a personal one. "I'm not losing both of you. Okay?"Annabeth Tucker , Shani McGuire , Amanda Rollins , Anthony Romano [attr="class","tannerright2"] |

[attr="class","Amandaner"] [attr="class","Amandaner1"] [attr="class","Amandaback"] [attr="class","Amandanert"]Amanda heard Tony before she saw him. “I’m pinned down. But don’t move anything.” If the rubble shifted she was going to go underneath of it. She then noticed the blood coming from Tony. Deciding now was a good a time as ever to break the news to him that he was probably already painfully aware of. “You are bleeding.” She replied. “Move to where I can reach let me help.” She was dizzy and the world felt like a tilt-a-whirl. “Fire Department Call out!” If anyone had a stronger voice right now given she didn’t have a stake in her side, she was going to use her voice. “OVER HERE!” She screamed towards the approaching party of paramedics and firefighters. She could hear more than one voice. Then again the were mixed with screams for help and they could have been other firefighters. She was quite certain at one point she heard gunfire. No, this wasn’t happening. “When we get out of this, think we can convince Liv to get us a nicer building?” She was adding a personal sentiment in regards to the chief of police since she knew Tony and her had gone back years and she wasn’t sure but she thought there might be something more between the two. Tony glanced around to see what she meant, he could see that if he did move anything he likely would send her flying under the rubble which annoyed him more. “I won’t, just stay still and we’ll find help.” Tony stated not sure where help would come from with the abundance of voices that he could hear. Screams, pleading, medics and fire department but he was focused on his partner right in that moment. “Wow I really did get the good pick of the detectives.” Tony snarked grinning as he best he could as he shook his head to Amanda.
“No, you’re not moving okay. I’m fine. Just getting one of my five day by way of a desk.” He added as he heard the call for the fire department. Tony was glad Amanda yelled, he tried to follow her yell but it was much quieter as his side hurt like hell and every breath he took seemed to only make the pain worse. Funny thing about that, if he stopped breathing the pain would stop but then so would everything else. “My partner needs help.” He wheezed trying to point them to Amanda first.
He was sure he just heard gunfire but then the cells, criminals oh this was just one big mess he thought. Tony smiled sitting by Amanda as he nodded to her reaching out his hand to move some hair from her face. “Oh not just a nicer building, one that doesn’t cave in on us. A nice desk, better chairs and maybe even stuff that works. Like a computer that works at light speed.” Tony joked grinning as he tried to pull his cell phone from his pocket. Even that trying not to move the piece of wood in his side felt like he had just been stabbed all over again as he groaned.
He glanced at the screen as he tried to turn it on to call Liv, at least to find out she was alive or out of the building. He might have been able to make a call but the screen was smashed and his phone was pretty much useless as he threw it hard across the room. Instantly regretting that too. “So what else do we need Liv to get us partner? If there’s ever going to be a better time I don’t think we’ll get it. So keep talking to me, what else do we want in our demand list?” Tony asked if anything just to keep his partner talking as he tried to see a way out for her. He would stay there as long as it took to make sure she was safe and not going to fall anywhere.

Shani had never much cared about the rank side of things, yes Tanner was the lieutenant but she could always go to her own boss. She knew better than to undermine him but Shani was attempting to make him see the error in what he was trying to do. She was opinionated and that was how she went through life, if people had an issue with it they needed to tell her but Shani would never change. Shani glanced to see that Tanner had the mask, well it was going to be difficult to breath for a person that had a good set of lung and not the one who was sick.
“See I knew I liked you Lieutenant.” Shani replied to his ‘yes ma’am’ reply, the smirk clear on her face. Even the exaggerated sigh her comment got, it amused her a little though she was making her point. The last thing she needed was another patient not to mention Beth would kill her for this in the first place. “Yeah I can hear you wheezing a mile away.” She joked though looking at the precinct. It was tough to see a place where her husband had worked in ruins. This was just going to be a nightmare of a day.
Shani was about to carry on when she saw Beth, oh her eyes had to be playing tricks on her because Tanner was in no shape to be there and Beth was on leave too. Shani glared at Beth, honestly had she no sense what so ever right now? “You two... I can’t even.” Shani stated annoyed beyond belief but then Beth was right, they did need the help. She hated that just as much as putting a lieutenant in danger when he was sick and his pregnant girlfriend and her partner. Oh this day was seriously out to bite her in every way imaginable.
Her next glare was directed at Tanner when he said three feet. “Make it one foot and if I say go to either of you. You leave this building, no if’s buts or orders from either one. You’re not on duty and should never be here.” Shani stated not amused by any of this but turning away help was hardly going to be a great thing either. “I swear when this is over, you two are...” Shani ended her words abruptly hearing the cries for help as she motioned in the general direction trying to find where they were.
“Over there.” Shani said pointing to where she could see two people though making out anymore than that was difficult as she tried to make her way over there while keeping an eye on Tanner and Beth. Today was becoming more difficult but the second.

[attr="class","Bethner"] [attr="class","Bethner1"] [attr="class","Bethback"] [attr="class","Bethnert"]Beth didn’t exactly expect a welcome home party but when Tanner and Shani both gave her the looks and the stern talking to she felt about two inches high and she hated the feeling. All she could do was nod. She wasn’t exactly in the best of moods after Gabby berated her and yelled and screamed. Though now was not the time to discuss it. Beth was just silent even as Shani started continuing on with whatever spiel she was on. They got over there and Beth knew she wasn’t going to be much good to anything other than getting supplies to them as they needed them. Lifting, she knew, was out of the question. That was up to Tanner and Shani. Beth was already pushing her luck but she wasn’t out to not take care of herself and the baby. That’s when she saw Tony. “Dad” she about choked on her words. Oh things just got about three million times worse didn’t they? Beth was just not having a good day. She kneeled down literally inches away from Tanners right foot, after asking for permission but not waiting on an answer. “I’m on your right boot, don’t kick me in the ass Tanner.” Though her voice wavered. Beth peered up at Tanner as she started to slow the bleeding on Tony’s side. Words weren’t coming just actions. Beth was doing what she was trained to do. “My partner will get to your partner dad okay." Beth was going to need Tanner’s help there was no way she was going to attempt at moving Tony. “I need you to stay still alright.” her voice was raspy and fighting her emotions was harder than she was making it look. When she got home it was not going to be pretty. [attr="class","Bethner2"] [attr="class","Bethnerlyric"]I could fly higher than an eagle because You're the wind beneath my wings

[attr="class","tannernah"] [attr="class","tannerleft"] [attr="class","tannerleft2"] | [attr="class","tannerright"] At least Beth seemed amenable to the terms laid out for her, otherwise she could just drive herself right back home. He still wasn't thrilled with the final outcome, but he could live with this arrangement in the meantime. But Shani was pushing her luck – she was not sending him home. Tanner rolled his eyes at the Israeli. "Now I know you're exaggerating. I am not making that much noise."Tanner heard a woman's voice call out for help above the background noise – a welcome sound. You hated for anyone to get hurt in the line of duty, but there were at least some survivors in this part of the precinct that their team of three could provide aid to. As Beth cried out and ran towards one of the casualties lying on the ground, Tanner joined her before she could get too far. He'd said three feet – and despite Shani's earlier correction – he meant it. Tanner gave her a stern look to remind her of the standing rule. "That ass is too fine to kick."Hold on. His mind worked to catch up: had Beth just said this was her dad? Tanner knew, as a detective, that he worked for the CPD, though he had never met the man. Kind of an odd situation, since he was engaged to his daughter. Tanner knelt beside Beth; he trusted Shani to tend to Tony's partner who was lying just a few feet away. He began to assess their patient's injuries. Tanner sucked in more oxygen through the mask – a nervous reaction once he saw the foreign object lodged in Tony's side. It didn't take a psychic to know what Beth was thinking right now. Hopefully she could still stay focused on the job. If Shani still had a problem with him being here, then tough. She couldn't treat both detectives at once, although a quick glance over towards the senior paramedic and her patient told him that Tony probably had it worse. Tanner still sounded like crap, the sickness in his voice evident, but if it were him in Tony's position, he'd want to know how his partner was doing first. “Keep telling yourself that Lieutenant Vader. All due respect you sound like Mutley off the Wacky Racers.” Shani added grinning, well if he was going to write her up he needed to be able to breathe to do it and right now. Shani was sure Tanner had better things on his mind, which did leave him wide open for sarcastic comments that she was more than happy to dish out. She would still have said them if they were at the fire house so really, she was just being herself with an extra kick of wheezy jokes.
Shani was only giving Beth a talking to for her own good, being pregnant and working on an ambulance was a bad idea. It would be desk work from there on out and maybe Boden could swing her a job in the office at fifty one but actual field work. Yes, Shani had worked as long as she could but there was no use in putting both parties at risk and right then she was trying to protect her partner and the plus one in the situation.
If the situation needed to get worse Shani heard Beth said dad, yes her father was one of the cops injured. Just what they all needed though when Tanner made his ass comment, she could barely stifle the laugh. “Meet the parent.” Shani muttered glancing between Tony and Tanner, maybe this call would just keep getting more interesting. Two people who should never be there, the dad of one of them and the partner making an ass comment. Oh this day she now never wanted to miss at all.
Shani focused on Amanda seeing Beth and Tanner take Tony. “You’re partner will be alright, he has his daughter there and... a lieutenant too.” Shani explained as she started to look over Amanda. The rubble hardly looked stable as she glanced back seeing one of the support beams still intact. Shani tied off the gear she had before trying to strap it to Amanda. “We’ll just get you anchored in, so if anything moves you’re not going with it okay? And what's you're name?” She explained, “Now can you tell me where it hurts and what you feel?”

Tony felt like crap, he was trying to put a brave face on things but the fact he was looking at piece of desk sticking out of him. He had seen a lot as a detective but this was a new one, and it was starting to make keeping the contents of breakfast down a little bit harder. Throwing them up as he felt like doing would likely hurt a hell of a lot more so really there was no good option in this day at all. Hearing the medic or fire-fighter or whoever it was hearing the word dad. It mean one person was in this mess that should never have been in this miss.
“Beth?” He questioned, as if he had another child though to his knowledge no Beth was the one he knew about. Tony was trying to focus, his daughter was pregnant what was she doing involved with this mess at all. Tony heard something about sitting on a boot and then a comment that if he was able he would have knocked the guy out flat for what he said. “Fine ass... eyes away from my daughter.” Tony snapped glaring as best he could, “I should shoot you for that.” He added though he knew his gun was in his desk which was now, partially in him too so who knew where that went.
Liv was going to kill him with paperwork for a missing firearm too though if he was injured maybe she would take pity on him for that. Yeah, pigs could fly too. Tony hissed feeling Beth poking at his side, “You need to get out of here.” He stated as he shook his head, “Ass guy, tell her to get out of here right now.” Tony demanded, did the fire department really wonder why PD had a dislike or rivalry with them. This was the reason though he was sure Beth had mentioned a boyfriend but his mind was too focused on other things to try and work out the wider world right then.
“Beth, don’t you dare get upset. I’m fine, I’ve seen worse.” Tony stated trying to smile and focus, “You just go wait outside where it’s safe okay, I’ll stay still once I know you’re safe. You shouldn’t be in here at all.” This day had started out not too great and now it was a case of could it get much worse, he knew better not to voice those words because when anyone said it. It generally did get worse but his daughter being in the building that just exploded was about as bad as it got.

[attr="class","Bethner"] [attr="class","Bethner1"] [attr="class","Bethback"] [attr="class","Bethnert"]Beth nodded when he questioned her about her being there. “Yeah, I’m here and we are going to get you out.” Come hell or high water there was no way she was going to be able to lift anything but that’s what they have firefighters for right? That didn’t mean she couldn’t do simple things. Beth started to assess her dad’s injuries right about the time the ass comment came back to bite her in the ass. “Dad, please don’t shoot my fiance.” She’d spoken about Tanner often and even told her dad she was engaged but the two hadn’t actually properly met. Well they had met now but she wouldn’t consider this a proper meeting. Beth didn’t listen to her dad. “He already tried that, I’m still here.” Beth looked up towards Tanner trying to keep herself together. “After I get this stabilized, we need to get him to transported.” Beth hated triage tags and marking loved ones as red was never easy. It was even harder when you didn’t know how many you could transport at a time. “Dupage county is sending resources our way. Their ETA is around 30 minutes; but he needs transport sooner.”One thing Beth was learning from her partner was how to put on a face that meant she wasn’t playing around. “You don’t get to make those decisions.” Beth was certain that she would be riding with her dad, but she wanted to get a status check on her dad’s partner, for his piece of mind. “Talk to me Shani.” Beth called as she got a C-collar around her dad’s neck so he could be transported. Better safe than sorry, even if she had to listen to him all the way to med.
