Many roads to take Some to joy, some to heart-ache
Debra came into her sisters office and closed the door behind her. Jamie wheeled around and the face drained color from her face. Of course her sister was here.. there was FBI agents being brought in for interrogation. Jamie didn't expect her sister to play nice when the FBI was involved. But what she didn't expect was Debra to be so demanding. "This case isn't yours anymore" she fumed out.
"Excuse me?" came Jamie's tone as she stepped forward. Jamie wasn't afraid of Debra. Why was she pushing her around? What happened to common courtesy? Jamie narrowed eyes at her sister. If Debra was here to start a fight then she was going to get one.
"You heard me. The case with the dead officer. FBI is running it now. Cooperate and I will let your people stay on it." Debra was all business right now and knew to get one over on Jamie she was going to have to be more stubborn.
"Absolutely not. Our officer our case" she spat out.
"The lives of federal agents are at risk and you are telling me no? Doesn't work that way" She held up the files for the case. "I know more than you think I do. CPD can continue their investigation into my agents. That's not what I'm after. Give me agents Graham and Arkin"
"Did you forget what agency you work for dear sister?"
"I want Graham and Arkin. I know damn well what agency I work for and I also know things above your paygrade"
"No" though as she said it Debra stepped forward and glared Jamie down. Jamie took a few steps back before shoving her sister hard enough to push her back into the wall and hard enough to leave a mark.
"So you are going to risk lives to settle whoever killed this officer? That's not you Jamie. That's not you and you damn well know it." She narrowed her eyes and turned to leave the room.
"Fine." Jamie conceded as she followed her sister out.
