Many roads to take Some to joy, some to heart-ache Jamie had taken Jamie out of the interrogation. The nice thing about having a sister higher ranking in the department is she could pull federal rank and watch her sister fold. Not without a fight mind you. The younger sister had always been the more tenacious of the two. Debra on the other hand was the mother hen. The sister had told her that there were FBI agents in the mix but what Debra had heard passing by interrogation. No. She was going to look out for the fed who needed it right now.
Uncuffing Andrew she pocketed the handcuffs. She would extend him the common courtesy as another fed to extend a bit of trust. It went a long way in professionalism. "I called your legal representative. She'll be here in about thirty" She sat down at the table to talk to him. Talk but not about the case. "You holding up alright?" Debra sighed, this whole thing was a mess. "Have you eaten, water?" She had a bruise on her shoulder from where her sister had clocked her during their "jurisdiction" fight. Debra had gotten her way in the end, and gotten access to the investigation.

Andrew looked suspiciously at the woman who had taken Reagan's place on the other side of the table. She seemed like she had his best interests at heart, but first impressions could be deceiving. If what she said was true, then she'd already contacted his attorney, who would be here within the hour. She'd even removed the handcuffs and asked if he'd had anything to eat or drink. It was actually a little disconcerting after round one of the interrogation. At the moment, he wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but he could at least kill time until his lawyer arrived. "Well... you're being very... nice.""I'm always nice until you hurt someone I care about... then I'm not so nice anymore.""And if you believe the clown brigade, we're guilty.""You think I'm here to throw my own agents under the bus?"Andrew shrugged. It was possible. Cut ties with your agents and have the agency save some face? "You'll forgive me if I'm not exactly the most trusting person in the world right now. My partner and I just got arrested along with two of our coworkers."Debra rubbed at her shoulder, though Andrew didn't press for details. If the FBI had butted into this investigation, had things become physical? It could have been something else entirely. He was still feeling his way through this conversation, seeing what information he could tease out. After all, there were ways to get information without coming out and asking direct questions. "I don't expect you to trust me.""That's an... interesting change of pace. Normally it's all 'you can trust me,' not 'I don't expect you to.' Bonus points for originality at least.""I believe in being honest. Even if it's not what someone wants to hear or expects to hear."Andrew was busy trying to decide what to make of her. This certainly hadn't been what he'd expected when she first walked in. "Okay... I think I may like you. More than the other guy at least.""He's a local... they have a know-it-all complex.""Yeah... well, they also just destroyed our covers." "I know... I have some news about that..." That got Andrew's attention. The way she said news, he knew it wasn't the good kind. Of course, given their current predicament, perhaps that much should have been obvious. He wasn't looking forward to what she said next. "You didn't hear this from me, but your partner's cover ran deep. Deep enough she's in danger. I've already got people working on what connects where. DEA has already pulled her from UC."
He visibly winced. Just about as bad as he was picturing, but it tended to be like that with undercover work. "Paige and I are a package deal. Where she goes, I go. You should pass that along to our boss.""Your cover isn't much better off than hers. I know how that goes. When one gets burned, they both burn.""Sure, but whatever happens after we're both proven innocent, they're not splitting us up." *** Some thirty minutes later, and true to Debra's word, his attorney entered the room. "I trust you haven't said anything." His lawyer was down to business already, but that was Heather for you. Not much for chit-chat, but that was one of the reasons Andrew kept her as his legal counsel. "Nothing pertaining to the case, no. CPD continued to question me, after I requested legal counsel, and one of the officers leveled an implied threat in my direction. You should have a field day with that, if this goes to court. Thankfully—" Andrew looked to Debra, giving her a nod of gratitude now that he knew she was actually looking out for him. "She showed up and put a stop to that."This is where things got a little dicey, and he was a little out of his depth. Andrew looked between the two women. "So, what's our next move? And not just legally. If our covers our blown, we might as well have giant targets painted on us. I'm not entirely sure I trust the CPD to keep the four of us safe."@debbie

Many roads to take Some to joy, some to heart-ache Debra already knew about the news cameras, stuff traveled fast to the media but the FBI was on top of things as usual. She had been working to get things under control. Her agents were in trouble too but not as much trouble as the DEA agents. The marshals came into the room not soon after with Paige and closed the door behind them. Paige moved to the table on the other side of Graham more out of habit. Debra looked to the three on the side of the table as she spoke. “The CPD no longer has jurisdiction over the matter. As of now you both are in federal custody” she handed each of them a folder. “In there, is the information the FBI has on how much is known by some of the heaviest hitters in the Chicago Area.” The folder Paige was staring at was much heavier than Grahams. It was clear without even reading it that Paige was in trouble. Handing them a piece of paper on top of that was a police report with their current names.
Paige read it and gulped, she had been afraid of this. She gripped the side of the counter. But why was Andrew here in the room. Surely his identity was still intact, but the folder that was in front of him told her otherwise. Paige’s guilt set in as Debra spoke. “We have new identities for you both, but as you can imagine having them and these” she pointed “in the same room would be a huge liability”.
“Who else is burned?” Paiges voice was stern at Debra as she got up and slammed the chair into the floor and then kicked it at the wall.
“None as bad as this. The others in the house will come off UC; but their covers were not near as deep.” She explained. “They are safe Agent Arkin.” Debra understood her frustration. Looking towards Graham and his lawyer she spoke. “The FBI has no interest in the case against the CPD officer. Given light of evidence there is nothing connecting Paige Arkin or Andrew Graham to anything more than being in the general vicinity of the deceased within a 24 hr time frame. They are no more at fault the guy he bought coffee from every more morning.” She assured the lawyer and Graham.
