The next thing Kelly knew, Matt was pulling Gabby aside, probably to talk to her on his own, which, in his experience, was never good. Then again, he had no idea why Matt was pulling Gabby away, and honestly, he just didn't care. As long as it got her to stop yelling at her, he was all for it. Things had gotten way too tense and he didn't know what to do to fix it.
He then shrugged as Brittany said that Gabby was wrong. "Maybe she's not," he said. She probably wasn't. Gabby was Shay: she had a tendency to be blunt and to say what was on her mind, even calling people out for things. And he had been called out here. Obviously, he was screwing up. He just wasn't sure how to make things right again. What could he do?
When she asked him to promise her that he'd come home and talk to her, he went to pull her close and gave her a reassuring smile to her. "I will always come home to you and we will talk," he promised. "You're my rock. I wouldn't have made it this far without you," he told her. And he wouldn't have. He knew this. Britt had saved him. He knew he had been spiraling when he had gone to Vegas, and if he hadn't met her, he'd probably still be spiraling. So yeah, Britt had saved him.
At her comment that they both knew that he wasn't ready to give up his badge and that the man she married didn't give up on anything, kissing the top of his head, he bit his lip. "I feel like...I'm drowning here. And it's affecting my work, I know that. Part of me thinks that things would just be better if I retired," he confessed. He had really screwed up back there. He could've gotten someone killed.

Gabby wanted to ping pong something alright and they were all lucky it escaped being Severides head. Why was she to blame in this and where did his wife get off being a complete and utter, oh she had words for it but it was best to keep them in her own head before she landed herself in any further trouble. No one hurt her family and for everything Matt was her family, it was simple as that and if Kelly thought that she would simply roll over and let that happen because he had stripes and bars then no. The man was wrong.
She had stood up to people higher up than a Lieutenant before and everyone in that room knew it. Having a hot head for her was like waking up in a morning, it happened and people had to deal with it. Was she wrong in what she had said? What would it take for her to get her point across and then for Kelly to say what he had done about Brittany she did feel for the woman. Then she was the one being dragged off to do inventory while Kelly got to go in his office and act as if it was all fine.
Gabby tried not to glare at Matt as she knew at work there was no special treatment, they were good at that part at least though it meant it was that bit more annoying when she was called off. “Fine you win Lieutenant.” She said attempting to take a much needed breath of air feeling his hold on her arm, he hardly deserved her anger when it was Matt she was defending in the first place. She knew something was off with Kelly but him not doing his job, no that was worse than off because that was how people got hurt.
The minute Matt let go of her arm and closed the door she deliberately kept her eyes away from him. “No.” She stated simply, she was trying to look out for him and tell Severide exactly what he had done wrong and now she was in the supply room like it was her fault. The change of tone in his voice helped and when she felt his hand on the side of her face she turned her face toward him leaning into his touch as she did. She was still angry but with the door closed and Matt there she was hardly angry with him.
Gabby listened to Matt though she wanted to argue every single point of it to him. She tried not to be mad about it and when he tugged her close for a moment she tried to struggle away until she relaxed. Feeling the kiss on the top of her head she wrapped her arms around him knowing that fighting him fighting the wrong person. “Unload, he could have hurt you? Hell she could have hurt you Matt. Lieutenant or not I don’t care because he’s in the wrong here. I don’t want to unload on you, it’s him that I want to hit.” She said before realising that inciting violence against a senior officer, not exactly her smartest move in life.
“Kelly lost it, you covered it and now he thinks that his bimbo from Vegas can just get at you because he is the one who’s lost it? No and I wont let that happen. Kelly is as much family as you are and he needs to know what he’s done. Everyone lost Shay, it’s not exclusive but if he puts people in danger Matt... it’s not just Shay that we will say goodbye to.” She ranted, so much for not unloading she thought as she rested her head against his chest. “Am I wrong? He has a problem and it needs fixed but neither of them are doing anything and what it’s my fault for telling them straight?” She asked as she stared up at him looking for answers.
Just because she told things like they were she was hauled off to a supply room and what the Severide’s would likely go back to Vegas because it’s what they do when they are hurt.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany right now had no care for what Gabby and Matt were talking about. Her focus was Kelly right now and only Kelly. When he said that Gabby wasn't wrong she gave him a look. "Kelly she's wrong. You are going to be an amazing dad. I know this because you are a wonderful person." Brittany had no idea that Gabby had lost a baby, if she had then she might have chalked it up to jealousy. "It's normal to not feel ready to be a parent. But you are full of so much love Kelly. Love our daughter is going to use to wrap you around her finger." She smiled on her face. "It might make me jealous" she teased and it was clear she was just trying to get him smile. Brittany glanced on his desk. "Captain's exam?" she noticed the envelope. "You didn't open it?" she queried snatching it off his desk. Oh she was totally going to play keep away now. She looked at the date before opening the envelope reading it's contents. It was evident she was reading everything. Folding up the piece of paper she put it back in the envelope and out of his reach behind her. "What if you left this place? Not the department but what if you left fifty-one? New house? You're stressed out here babe" she pointed out. "But you married this job long before me, I would never take that from you. You aren't ready to hang up the badge; but maybe it is time for a change?" she questioned as she kissed his face. ∵ @kellyseveride ∵ [attr="class","sinner2"] [attr="class","sinnerlyric"]vegas and chicago same difference [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:10px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(http://i.imgur.com/E4DnkWA.jpg?1);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:georgia;font-size:25px;text-transform:uppercase;color:#fcfcfc;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.sinback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:12px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert span]font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert b]color:#065c40;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinnert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]

we've lost it all
Matt knew that Gabby needed to calm down. That's all he was trying to do right now. So what if he used his rank to do it. Not the most professional move but right now Gabby mattered more than his professional and personal line between what was going on. They usually didn't blue the line because it got complicated but in this case, he felt that he had every right.
Maybe he had been fudging about inventory; but it was a good excuse to pull her somewhere to another part of the firehouse. A place where they could talk. He was probably going to have it held against him, but he didn't care. Matt ran a hand through his hair and sighed as they got to the turn out room.
He could tell that Gabby's adrenaline was running high. Both of them were hot heads but Matt had a level head most of the time. Unless he was being... protective. Then the hot head came to front and center. That was not what Gabby needed right now and he knew it. Though trying to reason with an angry Gabby was not the easier thing ever.
Matt wasn't put off by her no. He just internally chuckled. The woman had a feisty spirit but once she leaned into his hand and looked towards him, he ran his thumb along her cheek. Gently kissing her lips to remind her that he was right beside her. Well that no didn't last very long. He was still trying not to last. He'd let her think she won that battle.
Matt chuckled when she said Kelly could have hurt him. "I'm not scared of either Severide, and clearly neither are you." Well Brittany wasn't exactly dangerous. Not even in the slightest. "I can't let you hit a senior officer Gabby, you know that. And I'm going to let him either. You're better than that Gabby. We can go back and talk, but right now..." he kissed the top of her head again. No talking right now with everyone's tensions high was a terrible idea. There was too much damage control going on right now.
“Name me one person in this house who hadn't lost their head once?" He already knew the answer to that. Everyone had their triggers. "I covered because that's what a friend does. I'm not worried about a pregnant shrink." He laughed at the last part of that. "I have his back Gabby, I am not going to let anything happen to Kelly or anyone else in this house. You know that right? We hold each other accountable but is making him feel miserable really the answer?" he asked quietly. Granted Matt had unloaded on Kelly already. "It's one thing to talk to him. Be honest Gabby if the roles were reversed. You would have unloaded on Kelly if you were in Brittany's position. I don't blame her for that. She's protecting the man she loves. Kind of like someone else I know just did." He pointed out softly as she questioned things. "You aren't wrong, but maybe going after his wife was probably not the answer?"
Matt tucked her in a hug feeling his chin on his chest. "Everyone's upset but look I'm right here. You can yell at me, get anything you need to out of your system babe. You're trying to do the right thing" he offered. He knew she was, really he did. However, she wasn't exactly going about it the right way, she was doing things the Gabby way.

Kelly shrugged as Brittany assured him that Gabby was wrong and that he'd make an amazing father because he was an amazing person, saying that it was natural not to feel ready to be a parent that their daughter would probably have him wrapped around her finger and that it would make her jealous. "I don't know, Babe. What if I'm too much like Benny? Or worse---her?" he asked. All he really knew about being a parent was from his father who was absent more often than not and shacking up with a different woman every month. And his mother....well, that was best left unsaid. It was one of his greatest fears though: that he could hurt Brittany or child the same way his mother had hurt him. And if he ever did that, he'd never be able to forgive himself.
He then gave himself a mental shake as her attention turned to the envelope on his desk, reading what it was and asking if he hadn't opened it. "Was sort of afraid to," he admitted. "I mean, I probably didn't make it anyway," he continued dismissively. Come on. Him, captain material? Yeah right. He was no Boden. Guys like Boden were destined to be leaders, but he was too much of a hothead to do anyone any good. Still...he had been curious as to whether or not he could cut it, so he had taken the exam.
When she suggested leaving the house for a new one, saying that she was stressed out and that he had married the job before marrying her, adding that she'd never take it away from him, and that he wasn't ready to hang up his badge, but that it time for a change, he shrugged. "I don't know. Wouldn't that be leaving them in the lurch? It's not like I've talked about this with Boden, and he would need time to find a replacement," he pointed out.

Gabby knew if she had stayed much longer than things might have been said that there would be no taking back or worse. She had her job to think about but the one thing that mattered more than any job was her family and if Brittany thought she could mess with that then the woman had another thing coming. Gabby had never been the calm reasonable one and if anyone had expected that when it came to Matt then they were ridiculously miss informed however Kelly was still her friend. Handling that better might have been a better less angry option.
His kissed seemed to melt away some of the anger and resentment she had before. Being told what to do and being dragged away from a disagreement was hardly for the faint of heart as she would argue the why’s and why not’s of it all until she was blue in the face. His touch reminded her that he was still there right beside her, he could have written her up for insubordination of a superior or suspended her or told the chief or the thousand other things that were available to him and yet the supply cupboard was looking like the much better option to her.
Her eyes narrowed when Matt laughed about Kelly hurting him, since when was that funny because she had never thought so. She would have taken Severide to the ground for that if she had gone this far already. Gabby was listening to him up until he said ‘let you’ and those words were like a red rag to a bull. “You can’t let me? I am my own person and can do what the hell I like Matt. I am not better than that Matt, not when it comes to family and not when it comes to you. He deserves it anyway.” She argued though the minute he kissed the top of her head again it felt like he had kissed away her argument.
Did he really think she was better than that? She was hardly sure if that frustrated her more or less as she felt that when it came to Matt there were no lines she would hesitate to cross. He was her family and Kelly needed to understand that, no one hurt her family even if she considered that person family as well. All she needed to do was to think of one person that had kept their head except all she could think of was the hundreds of times it had happened to just about every single one of them.
“Fine give me time and I’ll think of one.” She said trying to come up with just one name in the entire house. “Pouch!” She stated as if naming the dog was a sort of victory, truth be told she had never seen Pouch loose it and that dog was in with the woodwork and the family. “Yes it’s what a friend does Matt but does he need a friend or does he need the truth? What if he had gotten you hurt? His squad needed their boss, how many times can you cover for him before something goes wrong and people pay the price?” Gabby knew that there was hardly a person in the house that had a golden spotless record.
Mistakes were made because they were human but she would fight tooth and nail to make sure that her family was safe no matter who was losing it on the day. “I know you do Matt, just what is the cost for that? Miserable, yes because if he knows what he did then he can fix it. He needs a shake and if I need to do that then I will. I wasn’t there for him much when Shay died and I’m not making that mistake again so if he has to feel miserable for a day then let him because he needs to be the Kelly that we know he is.” She explained knowing that she could be tough at times but it was hardly the simple clean cut reasons that she was a hot head. There was Matt to think of and Louie too because he had already lost his family and to lose Matt because of someone’s mistake was not a option for her or Louie.
Gabby was trying to argue her point but she found that if she did swap with Brittany she would have done the same thing. Protected the man she loved no matter what was right or wrong she would have argued it to the death no matter was what said or done. “Fine then, she was protecting the man she loves but she’s still on the wrong side.” She said as she took a breath nodding to what Matt had said about going after Kelly’s wife. “I’m still right and she deserved it took. What does she actually understand about our jobs anyway? If Kelly keeps falling down when people need him he’s going to get hurt or one of us is. What does she want for people to just look the other way?” In that moment Gabby would hardly say she was a fan of Brittany and that likely worked the other way around too but she had no idea what was in the woman’s head at all.
Feeling his hug she tried to relax which was easy to do, it never mattered where they were a supply cupboard or at a fire his hug was all she needed to feel better about anything. She was content to simply listen to his heart beat for a while listening to his voice until she pulled away for a moment. Gabby gazed at him for a moment before she reached up and ran her fingers through his hair slowly. “I don’t want to yell at you Matt; I just want you to be safe. Is it too much to just want that?” She asked trying not to be angry or mad about what was going on.
“I am trying to do the right thing but what else can I do? He went after my family, Brittany isn’t helping him as a shrink so far as I can see, so what do we do? Kelly is my family too and I’m not going to let him destroy himself or anyone else especially not you. I don’t want to yell at my Lieutenant Casey or Matt Casey.” Gabby stated as she knew any hopes of keeping those two lines clear in that moment was lost as she moved back to him and kissed his neck gently before she rested her head back on his chest.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"]Brittany got a wild look on her face. "Kelly NO! You are not like them. Stop letting her get into your head" she leaned her head on his shoulder. " I can tell you that you are not like that. I've seen you with children. Kelly you are going to be a great dad. It's not normal to not be ready to be a parent. Even if you think you are." Brittany was furious with Gabby. The woman had just backtracked Kelly, headway they had been making on his self esteem and that woman just tossed it all out the door. To say Brittany was displeased was understatement. The underlying anger at Gabby was clear as she moved Kelly's face to look at her. "Stop listening to the outside voices. You know what is best for you. I might think I have you all figured out Kelly but only you know you. I do the best I can and dammit I will watch out for you; but don't you listen to her." Her voice was more pleading than anything else. Brittany opened the letter. If he wasn't going to, then she was. Flipping the paper around she showed it to him. "Come again Captain?" she stated with a hand on her hip. His self esteem was shattered. Brittany was trying the best she could to help him fix that. Then Casey's sidepiece had to come and throw a wrench in the whole thing. "I can make a few calls Kelly. I have weight in the department too." She reminded him quietly. "if you aren't going to do it for yourself, do it for me. Please?" she wasn't above a little manipulation to get him out of this situation. This place was toxic for him. Even if it was family. One thing she had learned was that family wasn't always healthy. Her dad and Kelly's mother were proof enough of that. Brittany took him by the shoulders. "I want you coming to us every night. I worry about you Kelly." She held her breathe everyday that he was on shift. She didn't trust the house to watch out for him right now. Not after this. we've lost it all
So what if he was blurring the line right now. The main objective was to diffuse the situation. He'd accomplished that. Anything else Gabby threw right now would be in his direction. She'd either go batshit on him or she would calm down because he wasn't the one who had upset her, so yes he had his priorities. Oh she could do what she wanted; but he could also stand in the way and be a pain in the ass if he wanted to be. He just kissed the top of her head lightly again. She was getting it out of her system and that was okay.
Then she came up with Pouch and he just laughed. "Pouch it is." He would let her have that victory and as she seemed pleased with herself for that he smiled at her. When she started going off on what Kelly needed. He'd let Brittany worry about that. While Brittany wasn't too fond of Matt and Gabby at the moment. Matt trusted her with Kelly. Something Gabby had to figure out. At least Kelly was sorting things out in his life. Slower than the rest of them.
"Everyone has their way of dealing with things. I've got everyone's back regardless. I always have" he reminded her gently. "We are all trying here Gabby. I can promise you that much." He didn't add the words even Britt, he knew that woman was trying as hard as she could to figure things out. Though he had no idea himself how to get through to Kelly, so he wasn't any help in those regards.
"Everyone is doing the best they can but how is attacking each other going to help? It certainly won't help Kelly to have you taking a swing at his wife. Right or wrong Gabby that's going to just push him away. That's not the goal, and I know that. You're tenacious and I love that; but that's hardly going to help the situation" he replied kissing her lips softly. "I'm right here babe." He pushed some hair from her face. "And it's okay to want that." He whispered feeling her lips on his neck it was driving him mad.
When she rested her head on his chest he pushed her against the back wall of the coat closet. This was hardly a good idea but if she settled down it was worth it as he reached back locking the door and praying the alarm bell didn't go off as he put his lips back on hers. He had other ideas for getting her to chill.

Kelly's eyes flickered as Brittany stated that Gabby was wrong. "What if she's not? She does have a point. I have a tendency to run from things, everyone says I'm a hell of a lot like Benny, and sometimes the abused become abusers themselves. If I ever..." He cut himself. "Promise me. If I ever start changing...you'll take our child and just go..far away where I can't hurt either you." If she promised that, he'd feel better. He wanted to be sure that Brittany would do whatever it took to protect herself and their child. He'd never forgive himself if he ever hurt either one of them.
He bit his lip as she asked him to promise her that he'd come back and talk to her, caressing his cheek as she did this to her. Come back to her? What if he was a danger to her in this mindset? Hadn't that crossed her mind? He could very well hurt her, he knew this. He didn't want to end up doing that. But at the same time, he knew that he couldn't handle this on his own. "I promise," he said finally. It was only fair as he had just made her promise to leave him if he ever put her or their kid in danger.
He then went to sit beside her on the bunk as she reminded him that they both knew that he wasn't ready to hang up his badge and that the man she married didn't give up on anything. "I just...I don't know," he sighed. He wished he knew what to do. Hell, he wished Shay was still alive. If she was, she'd be able to give him some perspective on things. And that's what he needed: Shay's perspective. But she was dead, which meant that he was out of luck.

Gabby hated when she went off at Matt, especially since it was hardly his fault. It was different if she felt it was but this entire mess was started because she was trying to protect him. Gabby could hardly wipe the smile off her face as he let her have the Pouch victory, small but it was entirely worth it. When it came to trusting someone with Kelly, the two people she did were in the supply cupboard and some piece from Vegas was hardly helping things. She was too angry to figure out that Brittany was perhaps helping or too bull headed to admit it.
“I’ve never doubted that Matt, ever. You always have everyone’s back but it’s about time you let someone have yours too.” She said as she raised her brow at him, “I know I just wish that he would, you know just talk to us.” All she had wanted to do was to help and now she was in a supply cupboard with Matt, not that she was complaining at all however where Kelly was concerned she wanted to be his friend but she had no idea how to do that without arguing with him.
What she had done had made things worse she knew that listening to Matt who was making more sense than she liked at that moment. Attacking Brittany made sense at the time though she had tried to defend the woman toward the end even if it was perhaps too little too late. She had been a sledge hammer when maybe a gentle shove might have done the trick. Gabby stared up at Matt when he pushed some hair from her face, “I know, I just want to keep it that way.” She mumbled against his neck not wanting to lose him to some silly fight between friends.
Her surprise gave way to a smile and then a grin as he pushed her against the back wall of the coat closet. This would be fifty shades of awkward if the alarm bell went off but the minute he put his lips back on hers it was forgotten. Angry and frustrated soon gave way to anything but as she ran her fingers through his hair until she reached the nape of his neck and she became content with playing with the back of his neck. “Matt.” She gasped as her other than found his belt loops as she wound a finger around one of them and tried to pull him closer to her.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany didn't know what to think? How could he possibly? She wanted to yell at him; tell him how stupid he was being. Kelly wasn't anything like them. The anger boiled up inside of her. Hearing him, her heart was breaking and she didn't know what to do. Kelly hadn't gone down that path. Brittany was never going to let him go down that path. Silence where she should have had words for him. Failing in her own head. Dammit No! For a moment it crossed her mind to stand up to him. No. That's what Gabby and Matt did and that hadn't helped one freaking bit. "Kelly" she managed to get his name out of her mouth but that's all she managed to get out. Watching him hurt.. it was hard. "Kelly look at me" she managed to get out. Maybe if he could see into her eyes he could see what he was doing. "Please don't say things like that. You are nothing like them. Look around you. Look at everything you fight for everyday. The people you love, the people you save! No one's going anywhere Kelly." There was a pause as she lightly pushed him against the wall. They had every example of what not to do. "Your daughter is going to love you." She wrapped one of his hands up in both of hers. "I know this because I love you" she added before kissing him softly once. Sometimes her emotions came out better without words. "When you told me you were from Chicago. I felt my stomach drop. I had no clue what to say. Knowing much of anything at that point in my life was the norm. I've been there too." She paused a minute. "Do you know what happened that day?" she questioned. There was another pause giving him time to think about it or formulate a question. "I trusted someone." She kissed the tops of his fingers and lightly brushed her thumb over his knuckles. "I trusted someone enough to spend the rest of my life with him" she added. " And I will be damned if I am going to let him give up." She wasn't used to choking on her words. Maybe that's why she sounded like her husband? Kelly needed to do what was right for him, not please everyone else. "You can't please everyone. I tried that once. It didn't end well." Oh no it ended up with her going on a drinking binge at twenty two years of age, and she'd spent the whole week recovering from the hangovers. That was how she had dealt with Vince's bullshit the first time. If her dad hadn't been the responding officer that night, she might have more than just a drunk and disorderly on her record. Though that was a generation ago. "You need to do what pleases Kelly. Not Brittany, not Boden, not anyone else. You!" she poked him in the sternum with a finger lightly. "You deserve to be happy." She'd even take a hike, if that's what made him happy; but that wasn't the point of the conversation. Her hand went to the back of his neck and she ran her thumb from where his hairline met the neck down to his shoulder. She stepped forward and buried her head in his neck and guided his arm around her. Brittany wanted him to understand, wanted him to see that he was full of so much love, and had so much to give. Kelly was about as dangerous as Jay the dog who wasn't too dangerous unless you were a squeaky toy. Their bulldog loved to eat the squeakers out of rubber squeaky toys. Brittany lifted her head and smiled towards him. ∵ @kellyseveride ∵ [attr="class","sinner2"] [attr="class","sinnerlyric"]vegas and chicago same difference [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:10px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(http://i.imgur.com/E4DnkWA.jpg?1);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:georgia;font-size:25px;text-transform:uppercase;color:#fcfcfc;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.sinback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:12px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert span]font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert b]color:#065c40;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinnert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]

we've lost it all
If Matt didn't know any better he would have thought that Gabby was slightly jealous of Brittany. But he knew that wasn't the case, so it never even crossed his mind. He knew Gabby was trying to help; but he couldn't blame Brittany for protecting her husband. Same as he would never hold against Gabby for protecting him. Protective women did not belong in the same room sometimes.
Matt knew if Kelly was going to talk that it wasn't going to be them he confided in. As much as Gabby wanted that, Kelly wasn't exactly Mr. Personal with his feelings. He never had been. Neither had anyone in the house really. It's probably why they fought like family at times. Sure they all had people they confided in; but Matt was hardly going to have a deep personal conversation with Otis.
Matt just played with Gabby's hair. He wished he could fix it all for her; but life didn't work like that. "Just give him time." That was about the only advice he really had at this point. He understood he got that; but Matt had already fired off on the other Lieutenant. That had gotten them where? Not helping any. Kelly was just sensitive apparently, probably how he ended up married to a shrink. Though Matt's attention was on Gabby.Fifty shades of awkward was definitely not something he was against as he locked the coat closet door and set his attentions on Gabby. Let her forget that she was mad.

Gabby just wanted him to be okay and after everything he deserved to be happy. She knew she had gone at him and Brittany but then had the shoe been on the other foot she was sure Brittany would have done the same thing. She also knew that Kelly had no issue in telling Matt what was what either. Too many personalities she thought for a moment but then when did that come into things when she was trying her best to help a friend and he was just being, well Kelly was being Kelly and she should have known better.
None of them really talked feelings most of the time, only with those they truly let in and even she had her own issues in talking to Matt at times. She trusted him completely but with that came the worry, the fear, and the neurosis that she was going to mess everything up once and for all. Everyone had their people to talk to she just hoped that Kelly did too, even if it was the shrink who had no idea in her head of what she was doing or this would have been fixed already. Unless she was the one with the head issues though that thought was soon gone when Matt played with her hair.
“He can have all the times he wants, I just can’t lose another friend to this job Matt.” She said honestly, it had taken Shay and she was hardly going to let it claim Severide too. The angry feelings were soon gone when she was too distracted by Matt to think of anything else. He was the antidote to everything in life that was bad, the one person that could drag her out of a mood or make things seem better in a few words or just a look.
She focused her anger towards her kisses, his neck, his shoulder or anywhere she could reach as she ran her hands over his back. Who cared where they were because she hardly did, the door was locked and anything less than an emergency it was not going to be opened any time soon. She could hardly keep the grin off her face as she realise that Matt and Kelly had gotten on at Steph and Ben about what they had done when really, the rest of them were just as bad at times.

Kelly's gaze went to Brittany as she asked him to look at her, asking him not to say the things he was saying, telling him that he was nothing like his parents, reminding him to look around at what he fought for: the people he loved and saved, telling him that no wasn't going anywhere, assuring him that their daughter would love him, telling him that she knew this because she loved him, gently pushing him against the wall as she said this. "Okay," he said as she took a hand in hers and kissed him briefly. "Sorry. I just...I don't wanna take that chance, you know?" he queried. If he ever hurt her...no! He couldn't think like that! It wasn't going to happen!
He then forced his attention back on her as she admitted that she had freaked out a bit when he had told her that he was from Chicago as she hadn't known what to think, saying that feeling had been the norm for her, asking him if he knew what she had done. When he shrugged, she said that she had trusted him enough to decide to spend the rest of her life with him, kissing and caressing his fingers as she said that she'd be damned if she was going to let him give up. "I just don't want to screw this up," he admitted. Though to be honest, he wouldn't be surprised if he did. He was well aware that he wasn't the best at relationships, even though he was trying to do all that he could to give his marriage his all. And she seemed to be into it, which meant that he had to be doing something right.
He then nodded as she told him that he couldn't please everyone, saying that she had tried that once and it hadn't ended well. "I know. I just....I thought....this was family," he said softly. And they had turned on him. Well...not everybody. But Gabby had. He just didn't know why. He then fell silent and nodded again as she continued, saying that he needed to do what pleased him and not her or anybody else, telling him that he deserved to be happy. "I know," he said.
He leaned into her touch, relishing the contact. She always knows how to make me feel better, he thought to himself. How had he gotten so lucky? "I want out....of the house. I can't stay with 51 anymore," he admitted, his shoulders slumping. And that killed him. They had been his family for so long and now....now he was losing them.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany leaned into Kelly as his body hit the wall. Brittany was gentle and when he picked up her hands she relaxed, though she was hardly high strung in anyway. Though she would fight to show him that he was wallowing in too many what ifs. "Just... stop." She put her lips inches from his. "You are not her. I've been married to you long enough to know how you handle people." Brittany on occasion was quiet but she was very observant. She took in everything. His protective streak was hardly one to turn on her or their daughter. Pulling his hand down she placed it on her stomach as Leslie kicked Kelly's hand. "See even Leslie's telling you how it is." Her voice was lighthearted but at the same time getting him to realize he was worrying about something that would never happen. Chicago was still new to her. 17 months was not a long time to be anywhere. It wasn't an easy adjustment but she had Kelly to help her through. "You aren't going to screw this up." She understood he was scared of having a family, it was normal and on top of everything else he was going through. Brittany cringed at the pain in her side, oh their child was a pain in the backside. She reached up and kissed him softly. He was hurting and she was going to stand by him and they were going to get through this. Brittany understood, she looked at the house as an extension of Kelly. They may still be family, but the loss of Shay had gotten to him and he was still reeling in that loss. Brittany was trying so hard to fix that gap. She knew that she could never replace the bond that Shay had with Kelly, and she'd never tried but she did try to be there no matter what Kelly spewed from his mouth. They weren't just words they were feelings but they weren't something she was willing to back down from. "Leaving doesn't mean you have to outcast anyone here. I hope you can see that. But you owe it to you to give yourself room to think." She pulled his hands to her collarbone and stepped towards him until their bodies were pressed together. Brittany had her ear to the ground up at Headquarters. "The chief at 23 just left. You could be close." She whispered. "I can make a few calls." She knew the closer he stayed to those he had built friendships with the better off he would be. Being able to drop in on 51 is not something she would take from him but the space would do him some good. That much she was sure of. ∵ @kellyseveride ∵ [attr="class","sinner2"] [attr="class","sinnerlyric"]vegas and chicago same difference [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:10px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(http://i.imgur.com/E4DnkWA.jpg?1);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:georgia;font-size:25px;text-transform:uppercase;color:#fcfcfc;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.sinback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:12px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert span]font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert b]color:#065c40;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinner:hover .sinnert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.sinnert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]
