Her look told him enough to know that her backing down on it wasn’t really an option. “Fine but I’ll still worry about you and look out for you too if this works both ways.” He said smiling as he felt relaxed when she played with his hair. “Yes I was, you are safe, Erin is with Hank, he said yes to the marriage, all in all it was kinda worth getting shot in the first place.” He said trying to be optimistic about it. As soon as he could he would be up and out of there and finding who had managed to break into Hank’s place for the simply reason it was supposed to be a safe place for Sharon and Erin and the other Erin.
Hank saw the text on his phone as he replied ‘Sure, we can do that’. He answered knowing that a hotel was good but Sharon’s place was a little more like home than a new hotel room. “I’m not arguing.” He said as he tried to whistle a little but even the effort of that seemed to hurt a little more than he had felt before. He was fidgety, yes he wanted to get out of there and do his job but he knew that wasn’t going to happen within the next hour. “Just want to go home Sharon.” He said honestly, it was the only place he wanted to be right then.
“Thank you.” He said when she secured her hand around his arms. He didnt want her to leave but he wanted her to get some sleep or at least rest but that battle wasn’t worth fighting at least not at that moment. “A few hours?” He said having had little idea of time, to him he had been wheeled in and then just appeared within the room in a matter of a quick nap if anything at all. “Im sorry Sharon, I didnt want to cause this.” He said not wanting her to be emotional or tired or really anything because of what had happened.
He was happy that she wasn’t going to play with his heart like that as he smiled seeing he snuggled up to the side of his face. “Okay so less information... I can do that.” He said grinning as he squeezed her hand lightly when she took his. Thomas was relieved to know that she wasn’t changing her mind about getting married, he had thought for a moment this was the beginning of the end speech or at the very least a get away while it was still possible sort of duck and dive.
“I remember and I’m marrying you, my name doesn’t matter to me if it’s Jackson or Voight. You are still you, Sharon and yes I’m happy with whatever we decide because it’s what we’ve chosen for us. You are who I want and that won’t ever change I promise but you have to be happy too.” He said smiling as he felt her hand run up and down his arm. “I know but since it’s just us and before Hank says anything or changes his mind, you know because he might change pink to yellow...” He said though maybe he needed to talk to the man about that because pink, was it really his colour?
“Then you’re name it is. Sharon and Thomas Voight.” He said smiling as he felt her kisses that then turned onto his lips. Kissing her was all the medicine he needed as he smiled. “I love you too.” He said meaning every word he said, hadn’t they said that in a hospital before for the first time he thought as he watched her close her eyes. He was happy that she was getting at least some rest he thought.
