Erin Reagan Voight
Erin had been taught to shoot but that didn't mean she went around shooting people, but she knew the law and she knew she was within her legal right to shoot him. She also knew the ins and outs of being sued if the guy had lived. All she could do was freeze up right there. Hardly hearing him she couldn't even respond to his first question the gun was still in her hand when she wandered over to Sharon and Thomas. Not even aware she was still grasping it til her hands were white.
Erin let Hank take the gun though without a fight. The firmness in Hank's voice she knew left no room for argument, as she went to sit she was pulled into a hug but then didn't let go. She wanted to assure him that everyone was safe but the point of the matter was she knew they weren't. Sharon and Lou were in some sort of psychological war in their heads and Thomas was on the ground bleeding.
Lou sat down after a moment but she was shaking. Her mind had all but heard what happened after that as her mind was thrown into somewhat of a space where she zoned out and couldn't think. A nothing space. Almost as if she didn't know how to feel after pulling the trigger. Her mind hadn't made up its mind yet.

Thomas could see the pain in her face, she was the easiest person he knew how to read and yet even then all he wanted to do was talk to her because he couldnt imagine not being able to. “I ... will talk.” He gasped hearing that something was going to hurt and she loved him. Thomas was still trying to work out what was going to hurt, surely she knew he had already been shot though he soon found out as he bit down hard on his lip trying not to cry out in pain. He knew it would only hurt Sharon more as he gasped for breath.
Trying to breath and hearing her voice it took him a moment to actually say anything other than just nodding to her. No he wasn’t going to be shushed he thought trying to glare but it took too much effort, “I’m staying.... and talking... because ... because I ...can.” He spluttered, if he kept talking then he knew he was alive enough to do so. It was stupid and it wasn’t his first time in getting shot but he was pretty sure this was the worst one yet. Arm, leg, shoulder sure that was all okay but chest no that hurt like hell and made him ten times worst.
Thomas knew the taste of blood in his mouth wasn’t good though he tried to smile to make Sharon feel better. He had to as he took a breath hearing Hank speak as he smile soon turned into a grin. “He... yes... you yes... now to be married?” He asked as he heard the familiar sound of sirens. Usually he was the one waiting for them and not being the injured party but this, this wasn’t what he had planned for the day. “Right here...I promise to stay.” He said as he felt his eyes getting tired, “Sharon... I love you.” He stated trying to take a breath without panicking but the more he tried to calm down and relax the tougher it was not to lose it completely as he felt a little cold.

Shooting someone didnt come easily but Hank had done it enough times to know what to expect, the feelings that came after or even sometimes the lack of feeling which he found was a lot harder to deal with. Lou wasn’t a cop, to his mind she hadn’t done that before though he felt guilty because he hadn’t done it himself. He had frozen when people needed him and now Lou was the one freezing up. It didnt sit well with him though he knew trying to help Sharon and Thomas was a bad idea and looking after Lou was the right thing to do.
Hank was glad it was easy to take the gun off her and as he hugged her he tried to hold her tightly. “It’s okay, it’s safe.” He said trying to make her feel better or at least talk to him though with everything going on it wasn’t exactly the idea conditions for it. He could feel her shaking as he tried to get through to her in any way he could do. “Lou, look at me.” He asked her trying to be firm but not to the point in challenging her. He knew she could argue already and wasn’t wanting to start a fight.
“You did the right thing, I know it isn’t easy but you need to talk to me Erin, please.” He asked her trying to snap her out of her own head. “Lou, come on you didnt have a choice. It was a clean shoot. Just say something.” Hank knew that it never mattered if it was a clean or good shoot or not it was still a shooting though Hank knew he had time to worry over it later. He could change the locks and get more of them though right now it was family that needed him and he wasn’t about to go anywhere.

Sharon shot him a glare when he said he would talk. If he made things worse. She saw the lights outside reflecting off the other window. "Hey I got you. Just stay with me" she by now had said that more times in the last however long this was going. What else was she supposed to say? Sharon wanted to cry, 'Don't stress him out more Sharon, hold it together'. Not that she didnt expect him to have her OKAY with him getting shot but the more she showed her worry and stress, the more she knew he was going to feed off of it. When he gasped for air she bit on her own lip. This was a nightmare and she was going to wake up right. Catherine came in through the door followed by some floating partner they had her with. Sharon looked towards the paramedic. "I had to clamp off one of the arteries. I don't know... " she was coughing as she tried to find words but she started choking on them. "the bullet. I don't know if it went through or.." Sharon moved out of the way of the medics but not very much farther than they needed to get Thomas to the ambulance, everything was moving so fast. "I'm going to ride with him" she stated looking at her dad and Erin but she looked like she was about to fall apart. She'd just watched the man she loved take a bullet for her. There was no way she was going to give up on him. Somewhere between the blur of everything they were in the back of the ambulance. A sight Sharon hated, there wasn't anything fun about the back of one but some of her most painful memories came from inside of an ambulance. How many times he had fallen down the stairs and Mark would tell his co-workers that she tumbled down the stairs or something else. When they got to the hospital as soon as Sharon was separated from Thomas she emptied the contents of her stomach in the bathroom. She went to punch the mirror in anger but someone from behind stopped her. Erin had apparently taken off after her probably as an extension of Hank. Though honestly she wouldn't put it past her dad to join the two of them in the ladies room. Erin took her outside to the waiting room and Sharon launched into her dad's shoulder and cried. Erin Reagan Voight
Somewhere between Hank telling her she was safe and to look at him, she locked eyes into his. Well it wasn't up for debate either way was it? She didn't leave his arms. "I know" they weren't much but they were words. Erin wasn't sure where to start. She knew CPD was going to be up at med hounding them with questions. Though she had a feeling neither her nor Sharon were ready for that.
The medics in and out, it was faster than what Erin could process anything. Erin gave Hank her keys. It was her way of telling him she wasn't okay to drive. Not that it had to be stated, or that it wasn't obvious it was just an Erin quirk. Erin talked on the way. Everything from something random that had her attention to trying to convince herself she was going to be okay, to worry about Sharon and Thomas. By the time they got to med she was exhausted but when they got to med she had gotten there just in time to see Sharon go running into the women's room.
“I'm gonna go get her" she told Hank. She knew if they wandered too far he was going to worry more. Erin took Sharon's hand and pulled her into a hug. "Hey hey hey. Come on. Your dad is outside" she was just glad Sharon hadn't a chance to punch the mirror. Finally getting her to leave the rest room watching Sharon run to Hank, Erin just nodded before taking a seat on Hank's otherside. What was there left to do but wait and snap at cops who wanted answers at a time like this.

Thomas tried to laugh hearing her tell him again to stay with her and she had him. Two things he wanted to do though he felt tired, the kind of tired where anything was about to become a serious effort in life. Not just the snapping tired, the I started watching that movie but i’ve no idea how it ended. “I know, I’ve got you too.” He said glad that she wasn’t hurt. That was how many bullets now? He didnt want to think about it but it was starting to add up and this one hurt a hell of a lot more than the last one did.
John was with Catherine that day, new partner and all and now what a gun shot wound. Well the day was holding out to be interested as he listened to a woman tell them she had clamped off one of the arteries. “I’ll get a line started.” The medic said to Catherine as he did just that. Thomas could see and hear voices and face that weren’t familiar at all as he looked at Sharon. “I’m fine, really... just a scratch.” He said deciding that the less Sharon knew the better though in his head it made perfect sense to say although he knew she knew what it was.
Ambulances, it was the smell more than the actual thing itself. He couldnt quite describe it, not like a hospital but it had the same sterile smell that a hospital did. Thomas reached out a hand to Sharon, he wanted to know she was still there as the thought of being on his own scared him. He’d never have bothered about it before but this time, this wasn’t work related. They were in a placed that was home and someone could have killed Sharon. It didnt bare thinking about as tried to work out what was going on though soon enough he was separated from Sharon.
Leaving her when he knew she would be upset, after all she could have been killed. It didnt even occur to him that it might be because he’d been hit. No in his head it was because someone had broken in, it could have been Hank or Erin, those were his reasons for wanting to stay with her though it wasn’t possible. It didnt take long before those words ‘count back from 100’ were spoken and the last number he remembered was ninety seven. Not exactly a great start but then all things considered being entirely unconscious had its benefits as the doctors worked.

Hank smiled when she said she knew, he was safe because of what she did and that didnt sit right with him. He was supposed to take care of family and because he failed it had fallen to Erin to do that. “Everything will be alright and you dont worry about a thing.” He said knowing he would bite the head off the first cop that came anywhere near asking questions. He knew it was their job but right at that moment he wasn’t in the mood to have Erin or Sharon poked and prodded for information.
With the medics working and Sharon with Thomas there was so much going on it was tough to focus on one thing. Hank took Erin’s keys, there wasn’t a chance he’d let her drive after that though he was a little more used to it. Push it away until later when he didnt need to be up and running as a cop given he had missed the entire even because of asking about marriage. Driving to med it was like having that peace and quiet to actually think things over, the shock of the initial question had worn off and now he was left with the anger that came with having his home broken into.
That and a fed bleeding on his floor which he wasn’t happy about either. A fed that was almost family. Hank managed to catch a glimpse of Sharon heading into the women’s room. He smiled a thanks to Lou, he knew that he wasn’t above going in there himself but then he didnt want to argue or fight with her about anything. Hank waited outside taking a seat in the waiting room. Another day and another hospital waiting room, it was oddly familiar as much as his own office was which was a scary thing.
He looked up when Sharon launched into him. He pulled her into a hug, “It’s okay, he’ll be okay.” Hank said hoping for the first time that the fed actually made a full recovery. It wasn’t because he liked the guy or considered him family but because he knew it would hurt Sharon too much if he didnt. Hank moved to reach a hand over to Lou as he looked between both women. “Thank you.” He said to Lou as he kept a hold on Sharon not sure what he could say or do to make any of it any better.

Sharon could only bury her head in Hank's shoulder. She sat on his lap was curled up almost in a ball. Sharon had seen too many people shot, more than anyone should have to in a lifetime. She still felt sick to her stomach. Her mascara was running and it was clear she'd finally lost it, letting tears stream down her face. Sharon wanted to argue with Hank that this wasn't okay. It was not okay that her almost fiance was shot protecting her. Part of her wanted to march into the OR room and yell at Thomas, tell him how stupid that was. Sharon unclipped the other barrette from her hair and let her hair fall over her face to hide the streaming tears from any of those passing by. Leaning her head on Hank's shoulder she listened to Lou. "Erin will be here in a bit. The team is looking for a lead in the meantime." That was probably not the best thing to say. "I should be helping them look. He was talking to someone. There were others.." she knew they were just as dangerous and she was going to make sure this murder was pinned on them. The State's attorney brushed some hair from Sharon's face. "He's a fighter, he'll make it out of this" All Erin could do to make her step daughter feel better. Though all Sharon could think to do was change the subject, but no words would formulate. She knew what pulling the trigger was like, she knew what her dad's wife was going through. It was Erin who spoke again. "Your sister said she'd bring you a few changes of clothes" she stated. Sharon wanted to tell them to go home to her apartment and get some sleep. Though she already knew the answer to that. Suddenly Sharon's phone went off it was Erin asking if she wanted anything specific. No, but thank you was all she typed back. Sharon hardly said much or moved much other than protesting that she should be out there looking.
I combined Sharon and Lou. I will wait one more round before bringing in Deb MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Hank kept his arms around Sharon, he wished he could have fixed it been faster on his feet or even for the first time in his life wished that it wasn’t the fed. That was a new one for him though with what the fed had done it was tough to be remotely angry or mad at the guy. Getting shot wasn’t easy and taking a bullet less so but all in one day he had seen a guy do that for his daughter. Hank didnt quite know what to say to Sharon other than repeating the words it would all be okay.
He kept up rubbing her back hoping it would help though without a word from a doctor he wasn’t sure his would do anything. The team, he needed to go look for that lead and rip someone’s head off their shoulders for what they had done. “Sharon you’re not going anywhere, the team can handle this one.” He stated knowing that if anyone was going it would be him although he realised that he had more immediate concerns to deal with. Hank was glad Lou was there but he didnt know how to help her with what had happened.
Hank reached out a hand toward Lou as he looked at her once she had spoken about the change of clothes for Sharon. “Thank you.” He said knowing he had a lot to thank her for. It wasn’t just being there or taking that shot it was for doing everything else that went along with it. When Sharon started protesting again he looked between her and Lou. “Neither of you are going anywhere okay? You’re staying right here with me until we know more.” Hank stated deciding he wasn’t about to let his family out of his sight and if Erin was heading to the hospital then that was all of them safe.
Remembering he needed to tell Debra Hank sighed as he reached for his phone. Better to call or to text he thought as he decided to text. He didnt want to get into the conversation over the phone and let along that it was at his house. The message was simple enough explaining that Thomas had been shot and was in the hospital and that she needed to get down there. He hated things like that but then this time it was unavoidable.

All she could do was wait and cry and wait some more. Hearing her dad say she was stuck there she buried her head under her jacket. It kept people who were passing by from seeing how upset she was as she fell apart not wanting to let go of Hank. Lou rubbed Hank's back and kissed the side of his shoulder. She knew he was taking things rough, so she was just there. Something she was so good at doing. Sharon would give anything for a distraction, if it was shooting her weapon at the gun range or just getting lost in paperwork. Was it so wrong to be protective over those she loved? Though right now she knew what her dad was doing and that was okay for now. There was no protesting on her part. Hearing her step mother's voice again she still stayed buried under the jacket. "You two want coffee or anything? I'm gonna go down the hall and get some" Erin could use the hot beverage. Sharon wasn't even paying attention to the question. She was staring at the inside of her coat trying to relax under her dad rubbing her back. Worry and fear taking over. Sharon moved out of the way just enough so that Hank could get his phone but she rolled right back into his lap once he had it out of his pocket. She was stuck to him like glue. Why did everything have to go so wrong? She was fairly certain that no matter what she was simply cursed. She didn't see the message sent or even the one that showed that Debra was on the way. Hank kept his arms around Sharon trying to comfort her as best he could, he knew he hadn’t exactly been nice to Thomas or given him an easy ride of things but he was dating Sharon. His daughter, he just asked to marry her and now they were in the hospital again, was the guy even safe to have around Sharon he wondered though given that Sharon was alive and Thomas was the one injured. He had his answer even if he didnt exactly agree on her choice. Hank tried to smile as he looked at Lou, this was his fault if he had been focused and not scatter brained he could have done something more.
“I’m sorry Lou.” He said in almost a whisper, he was sorry she had to shoot someone because he wasn’t even in the right head space to do so. When Lou asked about coffee Hank nodded as he pulled his wallet from his pocket. “Here, anything you want.” He said handing it over, he knew that Lou knew what coffee he had and really he hadn’t a clue how long it would take to hear any news. He wanted to be awake for that at least if only to support Sharon no matter what they said to her.
Hank knew there was no moving with Sharon stuck to him like glue, he didnt mind it at all as at least he knew she was safe. Hank glanced back at the message that said Debra was on her way, well this was going to get interesting he thought as he kept rubbing Sharon’s back. “He’ll be fine Cher.” He said softly to her, he felt like saying that he’d been shot before and that didnt scare him off so second time around it should be better. Then again probably not the right thing to say to her in that moment.
“Debra is on her way here.” He said trying to distract her a little, as he thought about what had been asked earlier that day. “So I take it you both discussed getting married before today?” He asked her trying to understand if it was one of those spur of the moment things and a heart break was on the horizon or if they were serious about it. “I mean after today, I dont have a problem with it. He protected you and that’s all I can ask he does.” Hank said trying to explain though it didnt exactly change the fact he was a fed and sure a job change would make him a little easier to accept but then he was still a fed no matter what.

Sharon wanted to cry herself to sleep. But the sleep was not going to come. Not here, and sure as heck not right now. She was silently just letting the tears fall. This wasn't just something that could be fixed. She'd only cried as hard as when Hank had been in the hospital. Sure she cried easily but how hard she cried and how quiet she was when she was crying was usually a good indication of just how upset she was. Right now she didn't feel in any state to explain or even talk. When he apologized Erin shook her head. "Don't apologize" she whispered stealing a kiss from his forehead. Erin had cash on her; but if he wanted to feel useful then she would let him. Sticking his wallet in her purse. Brushing her hand through his hair she smiled a bit towards him. Sure she was fighting her own battle but she had always been good at swallowing things to help others. She left as Hank mentioned Debra being on her way. Great Thomas' boss. Just what she needed. The FBI asking a million questions. "I.." She was trying to formulate words to tears. "don't... wa.. nt..." she sniffled. "to.. talk... i.." she didn't finish the statement. Sharon was in no state to talk and answer questions right now. Then Hank asked about discussions of marriage. "We talk about everything" it was still sniffled and hard to understand. Sharon didn't need to tell Hank about the incident where she'd stood up for herself. Sharon was very well aware that her soon to be fiance had just taken a bullet and she was scared she was going to lose him. Keeping her calm was hardly easy. Tears still streaming down her face as she just cried harder. Sharon wasn't like the other CPD in Thomas' family. She wasn't going to turn her back on him because of his job choice. Why? Because he was successful, that wasn't something to hold against anyone. Thomas took so much crap about being a fed that it was stupid. Part of her wanted to smack the next time she heard that phrase. So it was probably better left going unsaid. "He always has." He had that time she shot him even. He didn't have to do that but he had. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Hank knew her tears weren’t the usual sort, the sort that he could fix with trying to make her laugh or calming her down. No this he couldnt fix because he hadn’t a clue how to do that, he just hoped that the hospital could do their part and he wasn’t going to be trying to comfort Sharon because Thomas hadn’t made it. A couple of weeks ago he might not have been too bothered by it as he had wanted to shoot the man himself but now, now Hank had a complete change of heart on the matter.
Hank tried to smile as he shook his head, “I have to.” He said not wanting to explain the hundred reasons why he needed to apologize, first he hadn’t frozen and that just wasn’t him. He had caused Erin to shoot someone, Sharon was in tears, Thomas was in the hospital and all of this because someone had broken into his house. A house that was supposed to be safe. He promised them all it was safe and what if Nicky had been there too, no he was angry with himself for letting it happen. This was all on him though he was soon brought out of that when Erin brushed her hand through his hair.
Listening to Sharon try and formulate words he knew it wasn’t going to be easy with Debra. “No talking, I wont let her ask you I’ve got this Cher.” He said trying to take as much off her as he could do. Hank smiled and nodded to her even though it was sniffled and hard to understand he was getting used to it. “It’s good you’ve found someone to do that with Sharon, you’ve no idea how pleased I am for you.” He said wanting to take her mind off things but then where did he even start with that. It wasn’t as if there was a magic switch he could just flick on and off as he tried to figure out what to do.
“I know he has, just today I saw it and that matters to me that someone would do that for you. I know I would but you’ve been through so much already I don’t want things to...” Hank stopped right there, he didnt want things to change for her and yet things had changed drastically. “Cher, he’ll be okay because he has me to answer to if he decides anything else.” He said as he rubbed her back wanting to help her but he hadn’t any idea how to fix things for her.

Debra came in a little while later with another agent in tow. Debra told the guy to wait where he was as she went to go check on the state of her agent with the nurse station. At the time he was still in surgery. She didn't seem to notice that other agent had approached the Voights. If she had, then she would have stopped him. Sharon was still very upset. Though she was almost catatonic on her dad's shoulder. Erin was back and was resting on Hank's other shoulder, she'd brought them back coffee and something to snack on. Sharon was refusing to eat but had at least given her body fluids. She was sick still from the whole ordeal and her appetite just hadn't returned. Erin ran her hand over her husband's shoulder and tried to remind him that she was there. Sharon raised her head up as the agent came over. "Don't even think about it" Sharon grumbled. "Look. He was one of us and I want to know what happened in that house." He started... but Erin jumped in. Oh she was going to play not so nice. "Don't you dare even think about questioning my client. She wants to be left alone." The guy got up and narrowed eyes at Sharon. Almost threateningly but was yanked away by Debra. "We will have a talk later. Go back to the car Agent Leventhal" She demanded pointing to the door. “I don't want to talk to you either" Sharon grumbled at Debra. Debra gave Hank a small nod before taking a seat nearby but not too far. “I'm not here to ask questions. I'm not here to cause anymore hurt Sharon. I don't even want information." She whispered. "I came to check on Thomas, to check on you." Debra was sitting with her back bent over her knees. Her elbows rested on her inner thigh as she then sat up to be more eye level with Hank. “I know right now is a really bad time, but when she's feeling up to it." She knew she didn't have to finish the statement. "We want to get these guys too Hank" There was other things they could do in the meantime. Sharon hugged Hank closer. She was starting to get cold and was starting to shiver but she'd at least stopped with the endless tears. Sharon looked up to see her sister also come in. The woman looked in a rush. The two fought a good portion of the time but when it came down to it the girls were still there for each other. "Agent Oxford right?" She offered as she extended a hand. "Give us a minute? I'll be right with you" she clearly had something to say. Erin looked apologetic. "I would have gotten here sooner... I apologize" she stated as she set down the handful of bags she had been carrying. Erin looked to Hank. "We are still looking for the other two boys... Investigators want to talk to Erin.. but they are ready to rule the boys death self defense as soon as they have statements to confirm it." MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Hank looked up when he saw the Agent approaching, the one thing about the feds was that you could see them a mile off. The suit, the walk everything about them screamed fed and despite Hank’s warning glanced the agent just kept heading their way. Sharon wasn’t going to take it well and neither as Erin though the black coffee he debated throwing at the fed but that would only make matter worse than they had to be.
He smiled when he felt Erin’s hand on his shoulder, he couldnt imagine being there without her there to help him. It happened before he could say a word, Sharon grumbled, the agent spoke and Lou was right in there with the lawyer part. It was a mess and what else could he expect when it came to the federal government. The minute Hank caught the look from the agent Hank glared. “Try anything I’ll rip you into pieces so small even the best forensics wont find you.” He snapped though when Debra yanked her guy away it was lucky Hank didnt have his hands around the guys throat for what he did and said.
“It’s okay Cher.” He said as besides Thomas, Debra was the only other fed he trusted to be there. Hank kept up rubbing Sharon’s back as he reached for Lou’s hand. He wanted them both to be okay as he looked toward Debra. “When she’s ready.” He said as he wasn’t about to push Sharon into answering any questions. “Not as much as I do. My house, my family.” He said having never referred to Thomas as family before. Well things changed and he wasn’t about to be mean about the guy to Sharon even if taking a bullet had been the thing to change his mind about him.
“Thanks for coming down.” Hank said to Debra, he knew Thomas was her agent but it was nice to know that she would go to the hospital for one of her own. Hank didnt exactly like Thomas and hated the guy in the beginning, hell he had wanted to shoot him first but for anyone else to do that. It was as good as attacking Hank, it simply wasn’t done and whoever it was would pay for it.
He felt Sharon hug him closer as he hugged her back feeling her starting to shiver. Hank looked to see Erin as he smiled. “They can have statements when they are ready to talk, not a minute before.” He said though he was relieved for Erin that the shooting was self defence, not that he expected anything other than. “Erin, is there anything warm in there?” Hank asked as he motioned to the bags, “ Cher’s cold.” He said deciding that he’d fix what he could for her even if it was finding her something to keep her warm.
“Do you know why? Why my place? Why then?” He asked having so many questions himself but he guessed that Debra did too as he looked toward her. “Were they after Thomas or just random?” He asked knowing that he himself had enough enemies to start a war but he hadn’t a clue if Thomas did.
