we've lost it all my heart is beating im gonna pass the test
Matt wasn't ignoring everyone else, it was he had just left Severide in charge of Truck for the time being while he dealt with the bomb squad. They could ask Severide whatever it was they needed to know. He noted though that Stephanie hadn't moved. Hearing Tess ask if it was safe to come down he just raised a brow.
"You tell me, you are the bomb expert" he knew the bomb and the fire were completely on opposite sides of the parking lot and the fire was mostly under control. "I don't need smart ass comments from the bomb squad about a fire that's under control." He pointed out. This was one reason he missed Mills. Though many of the guys on truck also had a little bit of bomb training but not near as much a Tess.
Matt could tell that Stephanie though she wasn't moving was terrified. Though it wasn't like Stephanie hadn't dealt with bombs before. Though this whole motion activated crap? Like honestly? If she moved outside of the box, then she was likely to go boom. At least from her understanding of things. Matt could see the irritated look on the woman's face. Stephanie would be a ticking time bomb herself once she was freed up.

Kelly frowned, his eyes perusing the scene. Don't like this, he thought to himself. What was going on here? It didn't make sense. And why was this pit in his stomach growing? What was he sensing? He wasn't sure, to be honest. He just had a feeling that something was horribly wrong. He just wished that he could figure out what it was.
As Matt continued to argue with the bomb guys, Kelly looked the scene over, trying to determine if they could plot out a way to get in. So far though, there hadn't been anything that they could use for their own purposes. Great. Just great, he thought to himself. Why couldn't things just be simple for once? he wondered. How come everything always had to happen the hard way?

Ben could feel himself getting agitated about what was going on or rather the lack of Bomb squad down there. They had to send the sarcastic one he thought silently try not to yell at the blonde haired woman that he watned Stephanie out of there along with the rest of them. The day felt out of whack to him, a bomb in a parking space and a fire. It was as if they wanted to get the fire department as he felt like asking if anyone was on a hit list.
He knew the department was hardly on everyone’s friends list given that a fire could reveal a lot about a person, family or situation. Even the arson calls they got, do the wrong thing or worse annoy the wrong person and you were paying for it for a while. His previous house had gone through the mill with that a few times but giving up was never going to be an option and just like this, together it would be fixed. Unless bomb squad had other ideas he thought. “Severide, what do you think?” Ben asked curious as to what he did think.

Tess smirked at Matt, well at least he knew she had an idea of what to do. Most people thought it was a case of pulling the wires or just simply moving an object but to her there was a fine art to it that she was more comfortable with. Had the fire not been there she might have sauntered in as a relaxed as if she was lying on a beach in a Caribbean but today there was a fire and that had her back up.
She knew it was going to happen but the thought of it and seeing it, well there were some things that people just didnt forget and the smell of the smoke that was one of them. It felt like it had taken her days to get rid of the smell the last fire she had been in. Even after anyone she asked said they couldnt smell it she still could and after several showers and clothes put through the washer it had gone. She could imagine there would be a similar experience at the end of her shift that day.
“Oh you need my smart ass comments if you want your girl out of there.” She teased lightly as she shrugged, “I can see and smell smoke, what’s it you guys say there’s no smoke without fire?” She asked as she masked the worried look on her face as best she could with a smile. “So tell me what you know so far? What do you see?” She asked as she wondered just what they thought they had walked into. There was no chance of anything going off but then she was safe in that knowledge which made it slightly awkward to keep up a worried face had it not been for the fire.
