[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"]Tyler stared at the piece of paper in his hand. The company he worked for had decided that they were going to let him go. He had just moved his family across the world and now this. Bringing that kind of news home to Josie was not what he wanted to face now. Every relationship had their ups and downs but he felt like Josie was the only optimistic one lately. There was enough to be said for that. He felt like shredding the psych eval but he knew better. He'd probably need it for something down the road. Collecting his things off of his desk, he dropped a picture frame off his desk. The glass shattered in it and he bit his lip, just something else to add to the list. Tossing the glass in the trashcan and sweeping up he added the broken picture frame to his things. He stared down at the image of his wife and kids. He felt like he'd just let them all down in one fell swoop. Facing Josie... he felt pale just thinking about it. Heading down the parking garage with everything that belonged to him at his desk and that terrifying piece of paper sitting in the corner, he set things in the passenger seat and headed home. The drive home loomed over him and people must think he was grandpa driving on a Sunday morning the way he took over the road and it's slow lane. The speed limit was just that, something he was well under. He'd be lucky if PD didn't pull him over for driving too slow. Finishing the last few dishes and setting them on the dish rack to dry, Josie let out a sigh. She grabbed a notepad before walking over to the pantry to see what they were running low on. Her and Tyler would need to make a grocery run later this week, and Josie was determined to have a list this time. The last few times they didn’t have a list, one of them ended up forgetting something they needed.
Finished writing down a few items, Josie made her way to the fridge. As she passed the counter, Josie checked her phone and frowned. There wasn’t any messages from Tyler. It wasn’t that unusual, especially if he was busy. But generally there was at least one message asking how she was doing.
Fighting back the worry about worst case scenarios, Josie opened up the fridge. She would wait a few more minutes before trying to call her husband. She was probably overreacting anyways, but Josie was a wife and a mother. She worried about her family constantly. It was what she did.
Closing the fridge, Josie checked her phone once more. She was about to send a message to Tyler when she heard the door open. Looking over, Josie was surprised to see Tyler there. “Hey Honey” Josie greeted, a smile forming on her face. “You’re home early”
It wasn’t often that Tyler came home early, but Josie wasn’t about to complain. “I was just working on a list of things we needed from the store, so we don’t forget anything this time. Unless we forget the list” Josie joked as she went to set the notepad on the counter.
“How was work? If you’re hungry, there’s some leftover dinner in the fridge” Josie continued. She turned around to face Tyler again, and almost immediately she could tell something was wrong.
Josie had always been able to tell if something was up with her husband. She wasn’t always able to tell what exactly was going on, but she knew if something was bugging him. “You okay Tyler? Did something happen at work?”

[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"] Tyler wanted the world to swallow him whole, he wasn’t the guy that went home to his wife and told her he lost his job. That just wasn’t him but right then, even when he opened the door to be greeted by Josie’s smile he wanted to turn around and walk back out. He did his best to smile back, he wasnt the home early sort and usually he’d call first to let her know what was going on but that wasnt today. He nodded and stayed silent hearing her talk about the list of things from the store. There in laid another issue, paying for what they needed when he didnt actually have a job anymore. “Yeah it’s a great idea, a list would help.” He mumble as he placed the box of things he had under his arm by the door. He could put them away later and find another frame for the picture that had broken. “Left over’s sound great to me, thanks honey.” He said trying to force the smile though with Josie he knew it wasnt possible to fake anything. She knew him far too well for him to hide anything. Tyler glanced at Josie as he motioned to a chair. “I’ve some news and I think we should talk.” He said not wanting to scare her but then he didn’t have a job as of mid day so that wasn’t exactly news he wanted to share. “Something happened and I want you to know I’ll take care of it, just things might not be easy for a few days or weeks depending on how it all goes, but I don't want you to worry.” He explained, job searching wasn’t something he had to do for a while and bouncing from the military to a steady job to nothing. It wasn’t what he wanted not when he had a family to support. It almost made him want to go right back and rejoin. It wouldn’t be that difficult to do but the point was he was home now, he could be at home and be there for his family. Not half way around the world which wasn’t the best at times, then again at least he knew that his wife and kids had a pay check to make sure they were okay. He felt guilty about something he had no control over, he wasnt sacked, he was let go and that made him feel like crap. Josie made her way over to the chair, sitting down. She kept glancing at Tyler, trying to make sure her husband was alright. Her brain barely registered the box that he had set by the door. All of her attention was instead focused on Tyler, as she kept trying to read him and ensure nothing was wrong. “Something happened and I want you to know I’ll take care of it, just things might not be easy for a few days or weeks depending on how it all goes, but I don't want you to worry.” “Something happened with work, didn’t it?” Josie asked. She wasn’t being accusatory or judgemental though. Instead, her voice was laced with concern. Work was the only explanation as to why things might be hard for a bit, and why Tyler was home early. Placing a reassuring hand on Tyler’s shoulder, Josie looked at him. “It’s going to be okay, honey” she said. She was trying to comfort both of them. Whatever happened, couldn’t be a good thing. But they would make it work. The two of them always did. “And if you say you’re going to take care of it, then I believe you. You haven’t led me wrong yet” That much was true. Ever since Josie had met Tyler, he had always steered her in the right direction. He was a good guy, and Josie both loved and trusted him. So if her husband said that he would take care of whatever happened, then she believed him. And she would continue to believe him. “In the meantime we just need to focus on the good things and watch our budget. We still have the antique store, and we’re still getting money from that” Josie pointed out, offering Tyler a smile. Only having one paycheck wasn’t an ideal situation, but they would make it work. “We also have some money in our savings account for emergencies. It’s not much, but it’s there if things get really bad” Josie added, though she had faith that they wouldn’t need to touch the money in their savings account. The situation they were in, it was concerning. They were going to be down to one paycheck for a bit but if Tyler said he had it under control, then Josie believed him. Her husband hadn’t let her down yet. “Have you thought about asking your sister, Sofia, for help? Or her boyfriend, Martin?” Josie asked. She knew Tyler and Sofia were working on catching up after the incident at the hospital. “Maybe they could help you out” Tyler Austin(Sorry for the delay. Life got in the way lol)

[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"] Tyler didn’t want to trouble anyone with his news, it wasn’t something he had really thought about if he was honest. Leaving the military he was learning that the world wasnt run with cheques and balances like he was used to. His mind had gone through all the possibilities that came with the military, not being able to make it home, there was a plan for that, injury that was planned for too in his mind. Not having a job, that wasn’t really a plan more of a world’s ending kind of situation in his mind. He nodded hearing Josie say something happened at work, there wasn’t much he could get past her. He hadn’t really tried to but then explaining why he had an extended holiday from work and the fact that the money usually associated with it was gone. Yeah, it wasn’t the sort of news he could sit on and hope for the best for a while. Feeling the reassuring hand on his shoulder, he couldn’t help but smile thinking he was the luckiest guy in the world to have a wife that understanding. “I won’t ever lead you wrong Josie and I’ll take care of it, I promise.” He said knowing that he wasnt about to go longer without a job than was necessary. He would end up driving everyone insane if he even had a thought about that. “Yeah we do and I guess that I can be home with the kids now too so you don’t need to worry about a thing.” He added trying to see the bright side of things. He was now build in babysitter now too and could take care of things around the house more than he did. “Thing’s wont get that bad Josie, I won’t let them. I’ll find something you know. It doesn’t matter to me what as long as there’s a wage.” Tyler said not wanting her to think he would hold out for some mystical job that might not actually be there. If worst came to the worst he could re-enlist of a sorts even if it was as a trainer and not his old job. Tyler reached out his hand to her shoulder as he reached out to hug her tightly. He didn’t quite know what to say about the option of his sister, it wasn’t like he wanted to ask her for anything right now when things were still a little rocky. Let alone Martin who, well it was a whole can of worms but then for his family, he could get over himself at least a little to ask. “Yeah I’ll give her a call, maybe she knows of a job or something. No harm in it right?” He said not wanting to be the brother that reappeared and then holds out his hand. “You know I love you and I’ll do everything to fix this.” He added taking a breath not really sure that he wanted to have come home to tell her that he didn’t have a job. (No worries at all) [attr="class","Tylerner2"] [attr="class","Tylernerlyric"]But I must abandon you alone I don't know where I will go

“I won’t ever lead you wrong Josie and I’ll take care of it, I promise.”
“I know you won’t, Tyler. You haven’t lead me wrong yet” Josie pointed out, offering her husband a smile.
“Yeah we do and I guess that I can be home with the kids now too so you don’t need to worry about a thing.”
That was one good thing. And Josie herself liked the idea of her husband being around the house more as well. “I know the kids will be happy about that. They love spending time with their father” she replied.
“And I don’t mind it either. In the meantime, it means that there won’t be a hectic or busy schedule. It could give us some more alone time” Josie added. “We haven’t had much of that since the twins were born”
Not that Josie was complaining of course. She loved her son and daughter, and wouldn’t trade them for anything. Sure they could be a handful at times, but they were kids. And more importantly, they were hers and Tyler’s kids.
“Thing’s wont get that bad Josie, I won’t let them. I’ll find something you know. It doesn’t matter to me what as long as there’s a wage.”
“I know they won’t. I trust you, Tyler. I always have and always will” Josie promised. Things were going to be okay. Tyler would find a job, she knew that. They would be okay. “Don’t try to rush into it either though, honey. If you end up with a job that you don’t enjoy, it could do more harm than good”
Josie would rather wait a little longer for her husband to find a job that he enjoyed then him finding one right away and end up dreading it. The last thing Josie wanted was for her husband to be miserable and hate his job. It wouldn’t be fair to Tyler.
“Yeah I’ll give her a call, maybe she knows of a job or something. No harm in it right?”
“No. There’s no harm in asking. At the very least she may be able to point you in the right direction, or even help you look too” Josie responded. “It could also give you guys a chance to talk some more”
Josie knew their relationship was still rocky, but she did want Tyler and his sister to work it out. She was Tyler’s family, and also the twin’s aunt.
“You know I love you and I’ll do everything to fix this.”
“I know Tyler. I love you too” Josie said, before planting a kiss on his cheek. “Just don’t be afraid to ask for help either. I can help look up some job offerings too while you ask Sofia. We’re in this together, okay? Try not to worry too much”

[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"] Smiling back at Josie, she never failed to make him feel better about things but he couldn’t help but think he had led her wrong the minute he left the military. He had a steady job then and now he didnt even have a job or one he knew he could go to tomorrow. “Oh I love spending time with them, I just figure give it three days and they’ll have had enough of me.” He joked though honestly it was the one good thing that came with losing a job. He instantly had more family time, time for the people he loved most in the world as he smiled. “Alone time with my gorgeous wife, why didn’t I think about getting let go sooner?” He questioned smiling, “You know this whole no job thing has a lot of perks attached to it you know.” Tyler knew time had been short for them, the twins and work seemed to take just about all the time they had and getting home was sleeping, eating and starting all over again. There wasn’t much time for Josie in all of that though now he had spare and free time, he didn’t have to make the time it was right there. Tyler loved the twins, they were the best and sure they might drive him nuts and make him think about not buying that new car because of food stains or chewing a door handle or the million other things that didn’t go well with kids and new stuff. He wouldn’t ever change any of it for anything, he was the most amazing family and one he never thought he would ever have a chance at. Tyler smiled hearing that Josie trusted him, it meant a lot to hear that from her as he nodded. “I promise not to rush into anything but I’m not going to let anything bad happen here okay.” He said wanting her to know he would take away job enjoyment or even satisfaction if it meant that he could provide for his family. “Besides I think I’d do great as a sign flipper or something.” He said smiling, yeah life was very different outside the military and finding a job now was looking like throwing himself down to the mercy of the world. Not exactly something he wanted to do. The topic of his sister came up and Tyler still wasn’t overly sure about all of that. Things had gone... well they had gone and Sofia had her own life now. He had his life and yes they were family but sometimes maybe it was best if they stayed apart. “I don’t even know if she’d want to help me, I did up and leave and then asking her for help in finding a job. I wasn’t the best brother to her.” Tyler wasn’t even sure if Sofia would help him out. He smiled feeling the kiss on his cheek as I hugged Josie tightly for a moment. “Sure that’d be great and I get to worry about you and the twins all day long. It’s a husband and father thing.” He said with a grin, “Besides what job do you think would be best now?” He asked her grinning, “Guess I have free range on picking one.” It was a new feeling to actually throw open the field as it were then again it wasnt what he wanted it was a mutual thing. They had to want him to work for whoever it was as well. [attr="class","Tylerner2"] [attr="class","Tylernerlyric"]But I must abandon you alone I don't know where I will go

Josie smiled at Tyler “our kids will never grow tired of you” she reassured him. “Except maybe when they’re teenagers. But that’s still a few years away” their kids were still young and wanted to spend time with Josie and Tyler. There would come a day that they would want their independence though.
Looking on the bright side, that’s what they had to do right now. Focus on all the positives and worry about the negatives later. “On days when the store isn’t open and the kids are in school, we’ll have about seven hours to ourselves” Josie continued as she put her arms around Tyler’s neck.
“And if they spend the night with a friend, we’ll have an entire night to ourselves as well. We could have a date night.” Josie pointed out, offering a small smile. “Just imagine that. One night where it’s the two of us. We don’t have to worry about the kids because they’ll be with their friends, having fun. We could pick them up in the morning, maybe take them to the park if they’re not too tired. Ask them if they had fun spending the night with their friends. You know they love telling us about their friends and everything”
The sign flipper comment managed to cause Josie to chuckle. “Honey, I love you. But you would probably end up hitting yourself with the sign somehow” she teased playfully. “So maybe you should stay away from any job that requires spinning large objects”
“And you’re trying to make up for that” Josie responded “but you can’t keep trying to avoid her because things are rocky right now. It won’t do anyone any good. Point is, you’re here now. Show her that, and don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way”
Josie knew how it was to worry about loved ones. She had constantly worried about what would happen to her husband when he was in the military. And then she had worried about the twins when they were born. It was a parent and spouse thing. “Well, with your history you probably qualify for quite a few jobs. I’m sure we could look online, see what job offerings are being listed and find one that catches your eye. Maybe we could fill out a few job applications too. There’s still a few hours left before it’s time to pick up the kids, and I was thinking we could do that together. Surprise them, you know?”
“I know for a fact, the twins would love seeing you there when we go get them from school” Josie said. It wasn’t too often that the two of them got to pick up the kids from school together. It would be nice to be able to do that until Tyler could find another place to work.
“It’s also up to you on how much we tell them about what happened. The last thing we need is for the kids to panic, but they will wonder why you’re home more often” Josie explained. The twins were young, and as such they could sometimes jump to the worst conclusion or scenario. The last thing they needed were for their kids to be scared of what would happen until Tyler got a job again. “We could always tell them that you’re taking a few vacation days too, if you don’t want to worry them”
Josie hated lying, especially to her kids. But she also knew there were times when it was needed. And if Tyler felt that not telling them everything right now would be beneficial for them then that’s what they could do. But if he also decided that they needed to tell the kids the truth, then they could do that too. These situations weren’t always easy but they had a plan and it would work out.
“If we do tell them though, we should probably explain that we have a plan and nothing is going to change for them” Josie added. At least that would keep the twins from panicking too much.

[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"] “Teenagers, no way then I get to be crazy dad that checks in on them and sneaks out to make sure they’re not doing anything they shouldn’t be.” Tyler said smiling though thinking of their kids as teenagers was terrifying. He didn’t want them to grow up at all, just stay as they were but as things went he knew it wasn’t something he could stop any time soon. He just had to go with it and hope for the best then pray that neither of the kids turned out like he had, or his father. “A whole seven hours.” Tyler said grinning at Josie as he held her to him, he couldn’t remember the last time that they actually had seven whole hours together let alone an evening to themselves. “Now date night sounds perfect, just the two of us for a whole night. We might be the ones too tired for the park if we stayed up past nine at night.” He teased, it sounded like the perfect night or even the perfect seven hours. He loved the kids, he really did but spending time with Josie seemed few and far between and he didn’t want to miss a minute with her either. “Sure no spinning large objects, but since I have spare time now too. I could also come and help you at the shop? That way I get to spend more time with you and take care of things here and the kids.” He offered, he was trying to help out in any way he could given what had happened. Hearing about his sister Tyler nodded, he wasn’t one to avoid things but then with this yeah he would make sure that he stayed away far enough that he wasn’t going to come out with wounds. “I hate asking for help. Especially from her, you saw how she is, some doctor now that dealt with everything while I just... did the military thing.” Tyler said, he should have taken her with him, managed to work it out somehow but that was about twenty years too late for it. “Sure looking unlike would be great and yeah, how hard can it be for me to get a new job? That would be great Honey, what did I ever do to deserve someone like you.” Tyler usually missed school pick ups and generally drop offs too and it would be nice to finally get to do something like that out with a holiday week. Losing his job was starting to have a decent amount of benefits to it the more Josie told him. “I don’t want to lie to them over what happened but I don’t want them worrying about things either.” Tyler said thoughtfully, it was a fine line between lying and having two scared kids wondering what was going to be happening in life. “Vacation days sounds perfect, nothing to worry about then and its a normal they know.” He said smiling. “If I don’t get anything in a week then how about we tell them then, that way it might not be too much of an adjustment having me around?” He offered, panicking their kids wasn’t what he wanted and he knew that it wasn’t easy. He was panicking in not having a job but he wasn’t under the age of ten either. “Might even have to tell them about my new sign flipping business.” He joked grinning as he leaned in to kiss Josie for a moment. “You also get to be the one that scares any boys that are interested in our daughter away, and I get to give her advice about relationships and show her how to apply make-up” Josie pointed out, “Though I’m sure our son would love to help with that. The twins have always been close” “Though I do want them to stay little for as long as possible. I’m not ready for them to be grown yet. I don’t think I ever will be” She continued, smiling. There would come a day when the twins were grown and ready to move out and start their own lives. But for now, Josie wanted to focus on the here and now. Tyler’s comment about them being too tired for the park managed to get Josie to chuckle a little. “I was going to say we might be tired if we stayed up past eight-thirty. You’re being generous with nine” she joked. “Though I think even if I was exhausted the next morning, I could manage to stay awake for a trip to the park, especially if it made the kids happy” Josie loved her kids, and while she was fully capable of telling them ‘no’ when it was warranted, she also wanted them to be happy. And a trip to the park would allow them to be happy. Besides, it would wear them out too. “Not to mention the benefits of that park trip. It lets the twins burn off some energy, and then when we get back to the house they will hopefully be tired and want to sleep for a bit” Help around the shop would definitely be nice. There were a few things that could use some touching up. “Sure, that would be nice” Josie agreed. “There’s a few lights that probably need to be changed. And I was thinking about touching up some of the paint in a few areas if you want to help with that?” Telling them after a week if Tyler didn’t have a job lined up by then sounded good. “Okay. We’ll tell them that you’re taking some time off to spend with us then” Josie agreed. “If it comes down to us telling them about what happened, then this will show them we can still function okay. It won’t be any different except for you being around more often. Like you said, the week can be used as an adjustment period for them” Tyler Austin

[attr="class","Tylerner"] [attr="class","Tylerner1"] [attr="class","Tylerback"] [attr="class","Tylernert"] “Oh, no boys are getting within ten feet of our daughter, I can promise you that.” Tyler said shuddering at the thought of her being old enough to date. In his mind it was a heart attack waiting to happen let alone make up though Tyler felt he wasn’t without another guy on his side. Just like Josie said, their son he hoped would take after protecting his sister just as much. “Just remember where the bail money is sweetie.” Tyler teased, yes boys and their daughter it was going to be a nightmare. “Me either, I don’t want them to be old enough to disappear to high school, college or worse move out.” He added smiling lightly, he couldn’t imagine being that clingy parent but he was sure when it came time to do it. He would cling to their leg and plead with them to stay just for the sake of it. Then again he actually needed a job to pay for all of that, he was glad there were a few more years just so he could actually top up their savings hopefully. “Ouch I so think we can make it to nine, I mean, we are the adults right.” He said laughing, “But yeah I think a trip to the park would be great. Any time I get to spend with you guys is amazing to me. Added bonus, tired kids and then we can spend some more time together without having to be responsible adults.” He added, though he was sure Josie was a lot more responsible than he had ever been. Tyler grinned hearing about the things that needed to be done at the shop, it give him a way to feel useful even if it was a light change and a new coat of paint. “Sure I’ll help with that, how hard can it be to change a light here and there and paint? Just don’t call a professional while I’m still there.” He joked grinning, it wasnt something he felt was out of his skill set but he was glad for the work and something to keep his mind off the inevitable wait before he heard anything about a new job. He nodded as he hugged Josie tighter to him, “Honestly, what would I ever do without you?” He asked, well fall to pieces and never be able to function as a human was about the answer. “You are smart, beautiful and talented and have the best ideas.” He said with a smile, glad that he had a week to try and turn things around for them. “I don’t know if I’ll have enough bail money to get both you and our son out of jail” Josie lightly teased. “Because let’s face it, our son would be in the cell with you because of some guy that our daughter fell in love with”
“Patrick acts just like you sometimes, you know?” Josie said, offering a smile. “It’s really adorable. I think he wants to be like you when he’s grown” she had definitely noticed Patrick looking up to Tyler. Both twins did, but Patrick especially seemed to look up to their father.
“Not having to be responsible adults? That would be the dream” Josie replied, laughing. There always seemed to be something that needed to be done. Whether it was taking care of the kids, or straightening up their home. It seemed like there was almost always something that needed to be done. Josie didn’t mind that though. It came with being a parent and with being an adult.
“I don’t know what I would do with all that free time. Maybe take a nap so I can stay up past nine” She continued. “That might be the only way I could stay up late besides coffee” though if she had coffee, Josie might never fall asleep.
Josie shook her head lightly as Tyler asked her not to hire a professional to fix the light and paint the shop. “I wouldn’t even dream of it. Not when I have an amazing husband who could do ten times better then some professional” It was true, too. Josie would ask Tyler to help fix up the shop over a professional any day.
“I honestly don’t know” Josie whispered softly as she wrapped her arms around Tyler. “And I don’t know what I would do without you either. You help keep this family together”
Hearing Tyler compliment her, Josie couldn’t help but blush a little. Even after all these years together, her husband could still find ways to embarrass her. “Honey, you’re making me blush” Josie lightly complained as she pulled away just enough to look up at Tyler. Tyler Austin
