What was wrong with like a Wednesday where she could have most of her week and still slowly sink back into the whole scheme of things. Since the explosion, the new lab had been under construction for some time but Mia was finally getting to see it. She'd spent the last few days after the explosion in ICU and the last several weeks in protective custody. In fact, she was fairly certain even though protective custody had already ended that people will still keeping tabs on her.

Mia wasn't too impressed that they'd scheduled Liam off on her first day back. To be fair, she'd been quite clingy to him as of late. Throwing her purse in her desk in the corner she took no real notice of who else was in the room. They'd told her about the new hire. Some transfer from Los Vegas. Just what she needed some west coastie boy telling her how to do her job. Mia wasn't brand new to the lab but she was still young and had a fair bit to learn. Most people assumed that she didn't get her own job most of the time and that was started to grind her nerves.

Her last name alone was enough to raise questions if she was related to the mayor and if he made sure she got her into the career field. That's mostly why she didn't get along with new people. It was just better to keep her thoughts and opinions of new people to herself. Though to be fair, she hadn't even greeted the guy. Yeah, she was hesitant though. Distrust of new people was a thing. It was staring her in the face. Mia plopped down at her very empty desk. She had some things to put away that had been able to be retrieved from the other lab. Maybe those detectives weren't so bad after all.

Contrary to what some may assume Greg wasn't nervous about this new job, he had started his career in a lab and he was pleased to be going back to that. Greg's forte was DNA and when he was still in the lab in Vegas, DNA was usually handed straight to him. It kept him busy because a crime was never too far away in Sin City. He took some time to get into work that morning, it was unusual for him to not be working at night, given he was on the night shift before. He was sipping on coffee looking through his phone when a woman, in her early 20's came into the lab and sat straight down at her desk

Greg wasn't afraid to both introduce himself and make a nuisance of himself, so he stood up from the stool he'd been sat on and walked towards the female. Standing in her line of sight so she would see him. Underneath his lab coat, he was wearing one his bright shirts a green one. "The names Greg...Greg Sanders...straight from Sin City to deal with all the DNA needs." he introduced himself, with a sideways smile at the woman.

Most times she was just helping Liam out and to be honest, most of the stuff in the lab she was trained to do but everyone had their preferences. Mia clearly saw the new guy in her peripheral. Right, she was trying to avoid introductions and this was working as well a a lead balloon.

Mia, despite being born in the US, had a strong Serbian accent. Though her English was that of someone who grew up in the United States. "Mia Vukovic, Ballistics." Right well she could take a hint. Then there was that ever looming smile of his. New people were hard for her to read and they made her anxious. Where was Liam when you needed him? No he'd probably make her anxiety worse by giving away her emotional state in front of a new comer without realizing it. Fumbling with her desk drawer she tried her best to put off the inevitable handshake.

Greg could do most things in the lab too, but chemistry was his strength and anyone could see that. He had micro focus when it came to DNA, chemistry having held his attention since he was a child. Chemistry was his perfect partner, maybe its why he had such bad lack with relationships. Being back in lab was like being home, although it wouldn't be long before Greg would grow antsy to get out in the field. His motivation was always the science and mystery, helping others came as bonus.

Luckily for Mia, Greg was one of those people that what you see is what you get. He didn't hide much and more often than not he would overshare without even batting an eyelid. He noted the fumbling and dismissed the handshake, his new coworker seemed uneasy around him. He chose rather to glance around the lab, "This is a nice lab, how long have you been here?" he faced her again, waiting for a response. He wasn't one to be stopped my anothers awkwardness or uncomfortableness.

[attr="class","Mianert"]The lab was new. Mia was older than the lab but still new. “I um… not long… I uh..” Her accent was thick but she didn’t want to admit HOW she’d gotten the job here. It looked pretty bad to say that the sitting mayor pulled strings so that she’d have a job. “I graduated recently and came here to learn.” Mia wasn’t exactly the most talkative person.

It wasn’t difficult to see that Mia was struggling with dealing with strangers. “The lab just got a remodel.” That was one way of putting it. Though thanks to the remodel she didn’t struggle with seeing the nightmare unfold while she was in the lab itself.
