Generally speaking it would take a natural disaster, sacrifice or end of the world to get someone like Roxanne into an overly populated, terrible smelling, annoyingly chipper coffee shop. It was such an event that had her there that morning, the horrid idea that her coffee maker and finally given up its ghost. It had passed on to the other side of the electrical grave yard, her sister was working early which left Roxanne to take that leap of faith and try joining society once again.
The one morning she wanted her coffee more than ever, her last shift had run six hours over and instead of having the twenty four hour allotted break, she was on a number between ten and eighteen accounting for sleep and travel time. She had just one twenty four hour time frame to adjust to the world before picking up another shift and if she was at all truthful about it. Roxanne would have it no other way.
Despite the yawn that escaped her lips gathering her a few dirty looks from the shop that she never gave the time of day. It was morning, the sun was out and she had her one day to make the most of. She debated going to the gun range for a while but then was it a waste to go there. She might have tried to harass her brother for a few hours but that was off the table unless she stalked him from the great beyond which given her mind set some days was a possibility.
No she had one option, Roxi was going to make the most of her day starting off with a much need and required coffee. It had taken a while but finally the person in front of her moved on and she managed to place her order. "Black coffee, no sugar, milk or cream... just lots of coffee." She ordered before taking that dutiful step back to await her order at the far end of the line as she watched the overworked staff behind the counter churn out coffee orders as if it was the last day on earth.
