Location - Patrol Room/Desks Time- 11.00am Blue sky and sunshine. Chicago had finally seen that glorious sunshine and business was bustling at precinct 21. The squad cars lined up outside, shiny and washed for the day ahead. Sgt. Platt was giving out the assignments to patrol for the new shift and dealing with incoming enquiries. It was a full house of detectives, officers and civilians all going about daily life. Filing reports, asking for help, working on cases and paperwork. No one had really noticed the large van drive into the garage. Checked at the gate as a pickup of evidence for central storage the paperwork was in order as the van was let through the gate. It drove down into the lot, missing the first space it needed to take to make the pickup. Instead it drover further into the garage that sat directly under the precinct. It parked up next to the elevator for the parking structure and to the far side of the van was the structural column. The very beam that if damaged could cause a catastrophic failure to the foundations of the building. The driver got out walking back up to the check point as they tapped a box of cigarettes and motioned to the corner across the street. What was a five minute smoke break the cop of duty thought, it would take ten to fifteen to check the evidence out and into the van anyway. A polite nod and smile at the driver in the base ball cap as he watched the man make his way across the street. The cop went back to checking the paperwork seeing the signature was missing from the evidence lock up across town. He took two steps to try and catch the driver before the explosion hit and sent him flying into the concrete wall. The sound of crumbling and falling, screaming voices and the cloud of dust and debris that seemed to go on forever as the air was pushed out of the building to be replaced with fire, smoke and dust. Rachel Murphy, (victim of explosion) @meriton,(help) Aria Campbell,(victim of explosion) Steven Hudson, (help) (No one dies just injured if you want your character to be, only victims can be injured. Helpers are required to help those injured)

Aria let out a small groan as she slowly came to her senses. Everything hurt, and there was a ringing sound in her ears, making it difficult to hear anything. The teen slowly opened her eyes, blinking several times in an attempt to get her eyes adjusted to the lighting, or the lack thereof.
What happened? Aria thought as she tried to sit up. It took a couple tries as it hurt to use her left arm, but eventually Aria was able to sit up. The sixteen year old instantly regretted it though when the pain in her chest increased. Aria took a few deep breaths in an attempt to lessen the pain, but instead it made the pain worse. Aria's vision blurred, and she felt like she was going to pass out. The teen wasn't sure if it was from the pain in her chest, the pain in her arm, or the piercing headache she had.
At the thought of her head, Aria moved her right hand up to her head. She felt something warm and sticky, and when she removed her hand, Aria saw there was blood on it. Her head was bleeding, her left arm hurt, and she found it difficult to breath unless it was short and rapid breathing which still caused her chest to hurt. This was not good, and Aria knew it.
Trying to remain calm, Aria continued to look over herself. She had several bruises and cuts. There was one cut on her right leg that looked really deep. The more Aria noticed, the more she panicked. Aria was hurt, in pain, and she couldn't remember what happened or where she was. It was getting harder to breath and Aria wasn't sure if she had irritated any injuries, if it was because of the smoke, or if she was panicking. What Aria did know though was that she was in trouble, and she needed help.
"Help..." Aria called out weakly, before coughing. It hurt to cough, and it hurt to talk. Everything hurt really, but Aria had to keep calling out. She had to hope there was someone uninjured and nearby that could help her.
"Please. I need help" Aria continued, before stopping. Her vision blurred again, and Aria almost lost consciousness. She managed to stay conscious though, but Aria wasn't sure how long she'd be able to stay awake.

Rachel had one dreaded word. It was a name really and ever since Michael had decided that he was going to stop being a cop. (Yes she knew his reasons but she wasn’t for liking them) Rachel had been saddled with that one dreaded word nightmare. Today was no different, Masterton. Platt had read out that name ten minutes earlier and her life was about over as soon as shift had started. Of all the lazy, no good, do all the work with no back up sort of cops there were. This guy wasnt the one you wanted on your shift.
No, since Michael had left Rachel had been saddled with the guy almost five shifts out of her six shift week if she didnt work the over time. No this was the end of this partnership, Rachel one day wanted to move on up through the ranks of patrol so being stuck with a guy like Masterton that took her work and claimed it as his own. Hell no. Rachel had listened to Sgt. Platt and this wasnt happening to her today. She went to her desk, grabbed her kit for the day as she went to march back through and take on the desk sergeant in a war of words.
She wasnt too sure what happened next, the world seemed to slow down then speed right back up again. It was like an explosion of pain that shot through her as she lay on the ground. Her eyes tried to focus on anything though between smoke, fire, dust and cries for help her eyes hurt even to be open. It took her a moment to register a weak cry for help from close by. She tried to reply but it came in coughs and splutters. Her eyes focused on a cop that lay a few feet from her, they were all in uniform as she could see he looked in pretty bad shape.
Even as she saw his hand go do undo his tactical belt though even as bleary eyed as she was she could see the problem that became her problem immediately. The belt was hooked around wires and concrete and the more the cop struggle to free it the more the gun hit against a piece of concrete with the hooked shaped metal. Rachel struggled to try to get out of the way but it was too late the cop made one final tug and the gun went off. She felt the bullet slice through her arm as she screamed.
Her hand went instantly to the wound though she could feel the blood steadily oozing as she did so. Though her shoulder felt out of place too as she yelped the minute her hand touched it. Yeah dislocated she had done that one before. Rachel saw the cop relax as if falling asleep though her attention was taken by another voice. Help, someone needed help. Rachel was shaking as she got to her feet, she couldnt remember if her husband was working or not and as she tried to take a few steps she felt her legs crumble under her as she reached out her free hand to feel for anyone in her path.
“Hey, right here... talk to me.” She called out as her hand felt someone’s shoulder. Her eyes came to rest on the girl that didnt seem old enough to be in a precinct let alone a cop as her heart fell. Nope this couldnt be a kid, no she couldnt take that. She had a kid, they were innocent in whatever this was. “Hey sweetheart talk to me, tell me what’s wrong?” She asked trying to look over the girl as she coughed and held her hand to her arm to stop her own bleeding.

Aria heard the sound of a gun going off followed by a scream, causing her to involuntarily flinch. Her eyes surveyed the space, her mind jumping to the worst possible conclusions. What had happened now? What caused the gun to go off, and was it a threat? The sixteen year old was brought out of her thoughts when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder. Instantly, Aria's gaze settled on Rachel. "Hey sweetheart talk to me, tell me what's wrong"Aria blinked a couple times, not responding right away. She kept holding Rachel's gaze as she gathered her thoughts and tried to figure out what hurt the most. "My head hurts...and it's bleeding" Aria mentioned to get out before coughing. "My chest hurts too. I think I may have broken a rib or something" That's what it felt like anyway, and it would explain why it hurt to breath and cough. Her left arm hurt too, and there was also the cut on her right leg. But Aria wasn't concerned about those right now. No, her head and chest pain was definitely worse then a possible broken arm and some cut on her leg. "What happened?" That was where Aria kept coming up blank. She tried to recall what happened and where they were, but she couldn't. It was like there was no memory to draw on. Everytime Aria thought about it, her mind was blank. She couldn't remember anything. "And where are we?" It was then that the sixteen year old noticed Rachel was holding her own arm. Aria's eyes widened in both surprise and concern. How had it not crossed her mind before that Rachel might've been hurt too? "You're hurt!" Aria exclaimed before coughing again. Rachel Murphy, Steven Hudson

Steven was trying to made sure everyone had everything they needed but that had failed the minute they rolled up onto the scene. He was down his partner and had a new guy who had thrown up the minute he saw someone pulled out by the fire-fighters who was in the worst shape he had seen for a while. It reminded him of the warehouse fire where Stephanie and Peter had been hurt but then blurring the calls together. No it was a bad idea as he grabbed his stuff, telling his partner to run a triage out of the back of the ambulance. Not pretty but then none of it was as he placed his bags down to the help and pass off one of the walking wounded to another medic outside. He fastened his jacket around him and shoved on the paramedics hat as he figured it was a bad day for the staff shortage. There were too few people to take on this though he knew where Boden had sent him to, patrol room desks. Cops were his friends and yes they might not all get on outside of work or in work but this was an attack on a city. Not just the cops that worked there. Steven went around to the side of what remained of the building; apparently there was a faster way in there as he helped getting a few people out of the door that seemed sturdy enough. It was slow going trying to get into the building as he saw the opening and made a dash for it trying to find his way to the patrol area when all of the usual landmarks were obliterated. Steven froze when he heard that shot, the familiar sound of a gunshot as he ducked and kept low. Escaped criminals maybe? All the cops had guns and ammunition so in the dark, no he never wanted to think about that. Do not shoot the wrong side he hoped as he approached the general area as he shone his torch around to try and see a little better. The dust shining like glitter in the air along with the smoke. “Paramedic call out. Fire department call out.” He yelled taking a breath and coughing slightly. All he wanted to do was to get home to Alyssa right now, calls like this made him realise more and more what was going on in his life. A pregnant girlfriend and he never wanted to go the same way as his father. He had seen what it had done to his own family, seen it and lived it so getting people out alive was all that mattered to him. “Paramedic call out.” Steven called as he moved slowly climbing over pieces or rebar and ceiling concrete. Even desks and chairs that were stuck or melted into place as he tried to find anyone. Rachel Murphy , Aria Campbell , Saajida Al-Hasan ,

Rachel furrowed her brow watching the girl, her lack of response worried her but then she was a cop and told how to deal with things like this. No panic, just calm and try to get through the day. She could scream and cry afterwards which she knew she would once she managed to get home and know her husband was safe. “Okay just try to breathe, slow breaths okay.” Rachel said to the girl as he searched through her pockets with her good hand. She had nothing that was remotely useful at the moment.
When Aria asked what happened Rachel wasnt even sure she knew herself what had happened right at that moment. “I think there was an explosion but let’s worry about you right now.” Rachel said doing her best to smile as she coughed a little. “You don’t know where we are?” That statement worried Rachel a lot as she just smiled, it looked a lot different to when she had stormed in a few minutes ago but yeah this was the patrol desk area.
Rather a moving paperwork pile that they swapped seats with. “We’re in the patrol desk area of the twenty first precinct. Probably a good place to be other than a hospital right now.” Rachel joked as she found the packet of tissues she had shoved in her pocket earlier that day. She ripped the packet open with her teeth as she took her hand away from her arm and placed the clean tissues over the girls head to help with her bleeding.
“Hey I’m fine, just a scratch. Probably shouldn’t have tried to fight the floor.” Rachel added trying to let the girl feel at ease a little. “Just breathe and what’s your name?” Rachel asked not wanting to not know who she was sitting with as she smiled at her hearing the call of the paramedic. “Over here.” She called keeping her hand against the girls head as she tried to sit so the girl couldnt see her arm that was gradually turning her uniform a burgundy colour of blood mixed with the blue.

[attr="class","Ariatitle"] [attr="class","Aria"] [attr="class","Ariabox"]everything's made to be broken, i just want you to know who i am [attr="class","Ariamain"] “Okay, just try to breathe, slow breaths okay”
“It hurts to breathe” Aria complained as she tried to take slow breaths like Rachel said. It was doable, but it did hurt a lot. “You don’t know where we are?”Aria slowly shook her head. She had tried to remember, but her mind was coming up blank. Now that she thought about it, the sixteen year old couldn’t remember much of anything. She blamed the headache and the cut on her head for that though. “We’re in the patrol desk area of the twenty first precinct. Probably a good place to be other than a hospital right now”Twenty first precinct, that sounded familiar though Aria couldn’t remember why. Maybe one of her parents or a family friend worked there. That had to be why the name sounded familiar. “It sounds familiar” Aria admitted. “I think somebody I know works here” She flinched a little when Rachel put some of the tissues against the cut on her head, but Aria didn’t pull away. It stung a little, but she knew it was better than bleeding everywhere. “Are you sure you’re fine?” Aria asked, frowning. She didn’t completely by the whole ‘I’m fine’ statement. The sixteen year old leaned closer to Rachel, both for comfort and so the officer would have better access to the cut on her head. “Just breathe and what’s your name?”Aria blinked, thinking about it. It was like her memory was foggy in some areas, and nonexistent in others so she didn’t know off the top of her head. She knew she had one, everybody had a name. “Aria” the sixteen year old responded after a few seconds, relieved that she had been able to recall something even if it wasn’t a lot. “Do you think everyone else made it out?” Aria asked. She knew there were other people trapped here, and that logically not everyone had made it out. She also knew that not everyone would make it out today, but she tried not to focus on that. Instead, Aria tried to focus on the fact that maybe others had made it out and were alright. Aria relaxed a little, letting out a sigh of relief when she heard someone shouting that they were a paramedic. They could get out of here and get to safety now. Paramedic in charge, he hardly felt as if he was in charge of anything as he wondered through the building trying to find his way around. He wanted to go and check on the others but clogging up the radio with chatter to make sure that they were all safe. He had to trust that the fire-fighters at fifty one had the backs of the paramedics he knew were working. Trust in the team he thought as he really the cops in the building that was now unrecognisable were as much family as his own partner.
Steven bent down as he found the foot of a person though when he went to find any sign of life. There was nothing. It turned his stomach walking away but then it was his job to do that, he had the living to help though it helped little with the thought that it would be one of many. One of many friends that were lost to whatever had happened, maybe a senseless tragedy. The gas line igniting or something worse but something worse required the thought that the cops of the city had been a target.
Friends had been targeted and that was almost crippling. No he wanted done with the day, to go home to his girlfriend and lose himself in talking about a nursery or what cot to buy. A colour of a wall, anything but the nightmare that seemed to be living right now as he prayed for a voice. Then he heard it. The over here, a voice and living voice as Steven felt he could almost cry at the sound of it. Ridiculous but at the end of the day, living people were his business and he had at least one as he shone his light in the direction of the sound as he came across the cop and the young girl.
Just a kid he thought as he smiled doing his usual happy face for any and all bad situations. “Hello ladies.” Steven said as he placed his bag down shining his light over Aria first and then Rachel. “I’m Steven and I’ll be your paramedic for the day. So talk to me ladies, what am I dealing with here?” Steven asked them both smiling as he saw Rachel’s arm and the fact she was holding tissues to Aria’s head. Steven reached into his bag as he pulled out some gauze for Rachel's arm though he left that for a moment as he turned to Aria.
“Okay Miss, I’m just going to place this c-collar on you, it will keep your head stable for when we get you up and out of here okay?” Steven asked Aria as he leaned forward to try and place the piece of plastic around her neck carefully.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THE BEST DREAMS happen when you're awake “It hurts now but it won’t for long, just relax and focus on my voice nothing else.” Rachel said trying to be at least a little comforting. She wished she could make the pain for her stop but then it wasnt like she was trained as a doctor or anything which right now. That life skill would have been very handy to have. It was heartbreaking to see the kid shake her head trying to remember where she was. A police station wasnt really a great place to be when you didnt work there, generally it meant that things had gone all kinds of wrong.
Today had been one of those wrong days and now, trying to see the patrol desk area in the state it was in. All her brain could think was that the clean up job was going to be a nightmare. Sure she might panic over it later or freak out once she got home but right now all she had to cling to was thinking about cleaning up the desk area before the sergeant managed to get on at them for anything. “Yeah you do? Do you remember their name sweetheart?” Rachel asked figuring that it was a start on finding out who the kid was with.
Information was key after all. Rachel just smiled and laughed a little, “Yeah I’m good. Seen worse but dont tell anyone that okay.” Rachel said, sure she had been shoved from a second story window onto a car a while back. Then chased someone into the street and got hit by a car, so really she just didnt have much luck with cars at all. Seeing the girl lean closer to her Rachel smiled rubbing at Aria’s arm gently. “You’ll be okay I promise you.” She explained though wanting to tell her that the precinct was a safe place.
It didnt seem that safe to her right now at all. If anything it wasnt a place she wanted to be. “Aria, that’s great and it’s a lovely name.” Rachel said with a smile, “See now we can figure out who your friend is here.” She was trying to sound positive about things though how things would work out was anyone guess. Rachel just hoped Aria’s friend was okay. “Sure they will have Aria, everyone will be outside waiting for us. It looks worse than it is.” Rachel said though she couldnt really believe a word she was saying to the girl. There wasnt a chance everyone else made it out, maybe a few but by the looks of things it wasnt going to be the entire building.
Hearing the paramedic, yeah there wasnt a greater sound in the world right then. "Glad you're here Steven." Rache said before she winced as she felt the light in her eyes as she glared at Steven. “Great... Steven keep your torch to yourself please... pretty sure that’s grounds for arrest blinding someone.” Rachel replied sarcastically as she motioned to Aria. “This is Aria and she has a cut to her head, she is a little foggy on details and take care of her first.” Rachel stated smiling toward Aria. “See help has arrived... with a very shiny torch.” She said almost as sarcastically as the first time as she grinned.

Do you remember their name sweetheart?Aria bit her lip as she thought about it, trying to fight back the panic. She tried to focus on what she did know, rather then what she didn't. It wasn't much, but Aria figured it was better then freaking out over her lack of memory. Maybe that would return after this gets dealt with. Aria hoped it would at least. "I can't remember their name" Aria admitted after a few seconds. "I think they're a detective though, if that helps any" She couldn't remember a name, but Aria was almost positive they had been a detective. Something about that just seemed familiar to her. "It isn't much, I know. But it's the only thing I remember" That was assuming Aria wasn't making it up, but the sixteen year old was sure that she wasn't. If Aria was making it up, then she wouldn't have known why this place sounded familiar. No, Aria knew that someone she knew worked her, even if she couldn't remember their name right now. “Great... Steven keep your torch to yourself please... pretty sure that’s grounds for arrest blinding someone.” Aria couldn't help but smile a little at Rachel's response, though she did have to agree. The light was bright. It was nice to see that Rachel could still be a little sarcastic in a serious situation, and it did help Aria feel at ease more. "I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it would be a bad idea to arrest the person trying to help us" Aria quipped. She knew Rachel was joking and wouldn't actually arrest Steven right now, but Aria couldn't let Rachel have all the fun. No, the sixteen year old had to make her own witty comments too. “This is Aria and she has a cut to her head, she is a little foggy on details and take care of her first.”"I'm sure it's not that bad" Aria said as she let Steven put the c-collar on her. The idea of getting out of here sounded nice. Aria wasn't sure how much longer she could handle seeing this place. "I'm practically living the dream. I mean think about it. People always say they wish they could forget something, and I get to." It probably wasn't the best thing to say, but Aria was trying to make light of the situation. She didn't want Rachel and Steven worrying too much about her. Sure she probably wasn't fine, but then again what person would be when injured in an explosion? At least Aria was alert and responsive for now, even if she couldn't remember anything. That had to be better then something. “Alright, just keep your hair on you know that I can’t help you with cuffs on.” He joked though it was entirely true. “Sure my torch is shiny; I’ve got lots of other shiny things too but mainly a torch.” He added grinning at the pair of them. “Officer press that against your arm firmly.” Steven stated as he nudged the gauze he had, he only had one pair of hands and they were focused on the youngest of the group as he listened to them both.
Steven grinned watching the girl’s reaction to the cop, well at least someone could take away a smile from the day. “See now I know who my new favourite patient is today. At least I finally have someone on my side, right kid? Any chance you can share some of that forgetting with this one.” He asked motioning to Rachel. “Might make her be a little less... eager to arrest people. Just saying if you want to share.” He joked smiling at them both hoping to make a bad day a little better.
Steven grinned as he nodded to Rachel who gave him orders to take care of Aria first. It made sense to him to do that given she seemed to be the worse of out of the two there. “Nice to meet you Aria.” He added.
Getting the C-Collar onto Aria he laughed, “Oh sure they do and mind if I share that dream with you, it can be your superpower, besides I can think of at least ten things I want to forget.” He added grinning, Steven had a long list of days, moments and memories he would rather never have lived through but then it was the making of a person. It was how people came to be the people that they were; then again he could still be that person minus a few hours here and there in life.
“I’m sure it’s just a temporary thing though, the human mind is very mysterious that way. I forget my keys all the time and then I can look at a bowl of cornflakes and remember exactly where they are.” He stated before he glanced over Aria again, “If it’s okay with you, I’m going to wrap that head wound of yours too? Don’t want too much dust in it, you know in case we have to ask those doctors at med to do too much.” He joked though those guys would have their work cut out for them with this. It was no walk in the park day at all.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THE BEST DREAMS happen when you're awake Rachel watched Aria try to remember, she didnt want to stress her out too much thinking about it but then she was a cop. She needed information to work and this was a nightmare, the information was blown to pieces by the looks of the room. “Oh sure, don’t you worry about that. If they are a detective then we will get you both reunited with the right people.” Rachel said smiling, a detective would be looking for their kid in something like this and she didnt even want to go down the what if route. No all parties involved would be fine unless confirmed otherwise she told herself.
“It’s great information and besides it’s more than I knew two minutes ago so its very helpful Aria.” She said smiling toward her wanting to make sure she knew she was doing great. A detective narrowed the Search to those with a badge and not the entire Chicago area so it was something they could work with a lot faster than just a location. Then came the sarcastic paramedic, “Yeah I know that but just keep it from blinding people.” She said glad to see Aria found it amusing, well there was no harm in making her laugh about things.
“See lesson one in life Aria, never trust a guy who says he has shiny things.” Rachel said grinning toward Steven, it was a little true at least. “You know Aria I will let you change your mind about that at any point but you’re right, might not be the best idea right now.” She added grinning deciding there was no winning that battle of words. She wasnt about to arrest the one person helping them though it did depend on where the light was shining.
Rachel took the gauze as she gasped pressing it against her arm as instructed though she didnt move away from Aria or Steven. No she was sticking with who she knew to make sure the kid was okay. “Yeah I’m with you on that Aria, there are a few things I’d want to forget too.” She added grinning as she rolled her eyes at Steven talking about finding his own keys.”Why is it that I sense you loose your keys a lot... or do the cornflakes talk to you too?” Rachel teased grinning at them both wondering if they had just gotten off a crazy train to paramedic land.

[attr="class","Ariatitle"] [attr="class","Aria"] [attr="class","Ariabox"]everything's made to be broken, i just want you to know who i am [attr="class","Ariamain"] “See now I know who my new favourite patient is today. At least I finally have someone on my side, right kid?”Aria grinned when Steven referred to her as his favorite patient for the day. That hadn’t been hard to accomplish, though a part of Aria suspected that statement was used often. “Right. I got your back” she replied. Her gaze went back to Rachel when the officer mentioned letting Aria change her mind at any point. “I appreciate the offer Rachel, but I don’t think I’ll change my mind on this one” It was nice seeing them be able to joke back about the whole situation. It made things less stressful, which was good. “If I figure out how to share my forgetfulness, I’ll let both of you borrow some” Aria promised, offering a small smile. She could only imagine what kind of things Steven and Rachel wanted to forget. Hearing Rachel ask about the cornflakes talking to Steven made Aria want to jump back in with her own quick remark. She couldn't help it, it was too tempting for the sixteen year old. "Maybe it's the tiny voice in your head speaking through the cornflakes. It's probably the only way it can get your attention" Then the conversation switched back to the brain and memories. Aria really hoped her memory loss was temporary. If it wasn't, then she didn't know what she would do. She'd probably have to re-teach herself a lot of things. Though Aria tried not to dwell on that too much. Everything would be fine. If this was temporary, then her memory would fix itself. It had to. “I hope it’s temporary. While I enjoy being able to forget what I’m sure aren’t the best moments, I would love to remember the good ones.” She responded. Wrapping her head wound, yeah that would be great. “Sure go ahead. And you’re right, we don’t want the doctors to have to worry too much. I would imagine they’re pretty busy right now” Aria agreed. The wrap would probably help with the pain and bleeding some too. “How bad does it look?” Aria herself hadn’t been able to tell, but she hoped it wasn’t anything too serious.
