Teresa showed up at Maxwell's doorstep looking upset. Sam was still in the hospital but Teresa had insisted that Maxwell get some sleep while she was there for a while when the next change of shift came and went. Though the hospital had kicked Teresa out after visiting hours had ended. She didn't exactly think that showing up at his house like this was a good idea but she had no where else to go. Someone was following her.
Well, she could have gone to her dad but her dad was farther away and she sure as hell didn't want to wake up the only other detail she knew where they were. Most of them were with Vanessa and her family. Teresa tapped on the door, no she vowed to herself that Samantha wouldn't find out this. She would swear Maxwell to secrecy or something.

You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know How much you care, or how much you don't If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine. “ Maxwell groggily answered the door. He'd tried to get a nap in but it wasn't working well. He'd been drinking most of the night and he was worried about Sam. "Teresa?" Really it shouldn't have come as a shock to him. He needed to find a way to sleep. He took Teresa in his arms and just held her. His alcohol tainted breathe was going to best him tonight. The scent of Teresa's shampoo seemed to have a calming effect on him. She was safe and right now he wanted after whomever had targeted Vanessa. No, trying to get information out of Sam would just make her worry that he was up to something. ”

Seeing Maxwell drunk made Teresa wish Sam was here to smack him. "How much have you had to drink?" No, there were more important things than the person who had been following her. "You can't even tell your girlfriends apart is that how much you've had to drink?" There was a pause. "Don't answer that." She put a finger to his lips as he held her. She'd distract him and put him in a better mood if given half a chance but she didn't think stress relief would come so easily. No, they needed to sit down and talk. Maxwell had been bottling things up long enough.
"Talk to me. Ashton, this isn't healthy. This whole whatever this is." Teresa was the first to get onto Sam or Maxwell for bottling up their feelings. "Look, you can be mad at me all you want after this, but what would Sam do if she was here? She'd smack you right upside the head without remorse. Then make you talk." Teresa pointed out. It was hard to double team Maxwell when she was just one person. But that doesn't mean she had to keep secrets from Sam later.

You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know How much you care, or how much you don't If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine. “ Oh she was a real box of humor. "One's a gorgeous fiery redheaded goddess, the other a drop dead sexy work partner who apparently likes to threaten to hit me with things?" He was a little confused as he was putting all of what Teresa said together. Yeah, he was already answering that before she could get him to shut up, hands to his lips or not. "But you're right, I have had enough to drink tonight." He pushed his drink aside as he sat down with her in his lap. "I'm talking to you Teresa. I'm just worried. This week hasn't exactly been the best of weeks." He couldn't really talk about it with her. He could talk to Sam about work but not Teresa. That wasn't really something he wanted to worry her with. "And I'm not mad at you." He played with some of her hair. "You gonna tell me whats on your mind? Because I know you didn't come here to talk about my drinking" ”

He was folding. In fact, he was folding way too easily for Teresa's liking. Usually he gave her some spiel about something or another. He was trying to hide things and Teresa knew it. She was caught off guard by him and now she was trying to regain her footing as he flipped the question.
"It's not been much of any one's week. But you have to keep a clear head. Sam needs you, Vanessa needs you, I need you. Promise me no more of this?" There was another pause. "When's your next shift?" Well if he wasn't going to keep up then someone had to do so. Teresa looked towards him. "Just came here to make sure you were alright, and I didn't' really want to spend the night alone." Not that it was a lie, it just was leaving out some minor details.

You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know How much you care, or how much you don't If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine. “ "Tomorrow. I um I was off today and yesterday." Maxwell admitted as he played with Teresa's hair, it was easy to get lost in her strands of redhair. Sam had been right, redheads were alluring in their own way. "I have a better idea." He pointed out "Why don't you sit here and tell me about your day?" She was hiding something but Maxwell wasn't really sure he was ready to pry too much. She didn't seem panicked and maybe he was just worrying too much. It was highly likely just the stress from the shooting. He kissed Teresa's forehead. "You could always try getting some sleep?" He knew he needed it and if it took a redhead beside him to do so then he would gladly do that. ”

Teresa yawned. "I can get you up in the morning then. I'm not going home tonight." Oh she stated that as matter of factly as she could. Teresa laid on Maxwell's shoulder. "Carry me to bed?" A pause. "Just don't drop me." Yes, explaining to Sam that Maxwell had dropped her could be amusing but no, he didn't need both girls in the hospital.
She soon felt the soft down of his bed. Oh she could get used to that. "You know how my day went Ashton, don't be so boring." Teresa mumbled as she stole him for a pillow and yanked the blankets up around her shoulder. "In fact, you can be boring all you want. It should help me sl...." but before she could finish her sentence her body was limp laying atop his torso. It was awkward without Sam on the other side but she'd be going to see her first thing in the morning.
