You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know
How much you care, or how much you don't
If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine.

Maxwell had strict orders. To make sure Sam got to the hospital and to stay there. The entire security team was on full alert. Samantha had been injured protecting Vanessa. He was sure that all of them were now on shift. That was how it always worked. He managed to get Teresa to stop and get Sam’s favorite coffee and bring it by the hospital. But only because he couldn’t leave. Plus he was worried about Teresa being mixed up in all of this too. He could keep eyes on her if she was here. Not that she was a target but it just settled his mind to have her closer by.
Ashton stood outside of Sam’s door while she slept peeking over his shoulder at the monitors. He was worried but he was working. He wanted to stay immediately by her side but he had instructions to keep her safe. Maxwell was no stranger to medical stuff from his EMT days and he wasn’t too fond of what he had heard about her condition. He hadn’t been there when things happened. He’d been called in to come stay here and he’d been here ever since he’d arrived at the hospital.
“She’s not awake yet is she?” Teresa questioned to Maxwell. Ashton reached his arms out and placed them in a hug. One that if anyone saw it would just be that of a concerned friend. Maxwell only shook his head no. He wished he had a better answer to give her but he didn’t. “You holding up okay? How’s Vanessa?” Well she wasn’t on the detail her order of asking about people wasn’t the same.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” Well he had Teresa here to keep him out of his own head at least. “Vanessa and her family are safe."He replied. Ashton looked over his shoulder. He knew the family was at a safe location but he couldn't really tell her much of anything since she wasn't on the detail. Hell, he couldn't even tell her that they secured a location and he didn't even know what it was. “I think Sam will be happier to see you than me when she wakes up.” He chuckled just a little bit.
