Ever since Eyal had received that text message from Jess he had been worried and once he had clarified there was no house hold incident and the only incident was her brother. Eyal had spent the few moments he had plotting her escape. It was relatively easy to figure out who had the contract for the Cross security detail, who the players were in there and the of course the ones who were heading to the house. Eyal never really liked to rush a plan but today for the sake of Jess he was calmly plotting the demise of the detail in what he could only say was a jail break kidnapping.
Frankly if anything he was saving the girl from an overbearing brother and boss who thought a detail was what she needed? It was a crazy idea though Eyal enlisted a little help of his own through the mafia, they had enough guys to go around as he stole two of them away. It was an easy enough job to have the detail stop to help a broken down car. A few drugged syringes in the neck later and Eyal watching from a vantage point he could see the two detail officers shoved into the back of the van.
It was almost scary efficiency that the two men were striped of ID and clothing before being driving off, leaving two new and improved private security guards. Eyal had been nice, mostly leaving instructions to use their company cards to get them a room at a hotel and place in the most comprising positions available within that room. Really there was nothing like a good case of do not ask and do not tell especially when the male ego was involved. No clothes, on a bed during work hours Eyal was sure the only thing coming from their mouths was silence.
It left however Jess in the hands of two very capable and trust worthy individuals who had instructions to get her to the airport without incident or people would get hurt. To make the point of being as far away from the incident as possible Eyal drove to the airport as he waited for Jess to arrive in one of the departure lounges. The plane was fuelled and ready to go for them and the destination was the one place where people could blend in and get lost. Vegas. There were stores to get things if Jess needed them, Eyal had his bag with him but he had decided against breaking into her place and packing for her.
On the creepy scale it was far too high he thought so he would just get her what she needed or wanted once they were there. There was no one else around as he had managed to pull the VIP card and there was little that money never bought. Privacy was one of those things, plane tickets and a plane were others. He was still in the process of sorting out a few days in California too though he knew there was no immediate rush.
His phone pinged with the booking for the Penthouse at the Bellagio, he was sure it was big enough to fit his entire Chicago apartment into ten times over but then if Jess wanted alone time to herself. Then at least he knew there was little chance he would be in her way. He put a pin in California as he wondered how she would take it all but then, it got her away from her brother so he thought he should be in her good books.

don't apologize
If it was one thing that Jess had enough of it was her detail. After everything was sorted once the detail that arrived, Jessica couldn’t wait to leave her brother’s house. It was really obnoxious that she even had to deal with a detail at all. Sighing she headed to her place only to get a text from Eyal asking if she could get away and meet him at the airport. Something about a business meeting and he wanted to see her before she left.
Sure why the heck not? Maybe seeing him for a bit could do her some good. He always seemed to be able to calm her down when she was frantic like this. She went home long enough to run inside grab some clothes, change, and come back out. Jess didn’t let the detail inside. Last she’d checked there wasn’t a loose lightbulb that could fall on her head and give her a concussion. Honestly, Jackson was on her nerves.
Jess took the moment to text Evan and let him know the detail had arrived. She’d tried to remember what he’d told her about paying them no mind. They weren’t intrusive and they’d let her go about being herself. Right now she tried to take comfort in that. Laying on the passenger window with her head turned out she watched the road. It helped in the car, seeing the wide open space helped ease her out of her claustrophobia in a car. One of the many tricks she’d learned when dealing with it.
Her detail had insisted on driving because she was so stressed out as they put it. She’d let them, and it was probably for the better seeing as much as she just wanted to be anywhere but in her own head right now. Jess didn’t like to dwell on things but JJ as usual had struck a nerve. The car pulled to a stop at the airport and Jess got out, marching off from the detail in rather of a hurry. If they couldn’t keep up that wasn’t her fault.
She found Eyal right where he told her that he was going to be. Jessica ran over to him and wrapped her good arm around him embracing him in a hug. She still had the one broken wrist to contend with. “How’s your leg?” She was concerned because he was going on a business trip when he should be home resting it. Though she was hardly going to read him the riot act when that’s what she was running from that herself.

Eyal had tried to give the new detail specific instructions to give Jess her space without letting her know that they were his. He hardly wanted to have any conversation relating to his work that was a lot less genuine than most other things he did. No letting her believe things were going on as normal and asking the detail to give her space, it was a fair trade off in his mind. Jess needed to get away and he was more than happy to provide the escape for her. It was easy to want to spend more time with her and the brother was giving him every excuse imaginable.
Waiting was easy for him as he watched a few planes taxi to the runway; the sounds of the airport were the same every single time. He sat facing the open seating area; a habit given that people sneaking up on him was usually a very bad thing. This was as far from work as he could get, there really was no work involved in it despite what he had told Jess. His leg still hurt and yes he might have been flouting doctor’s orders to stay off it for a few days but Eyal had never been the orders type. At least recently and especially not when he knew what his limitations were.
There were no contracts to chase down, no gun fights to get into and no assassinations to take care off. Even his day job had given him unlimited leave despite his protests though now with the prospect of whisking Jess away for a few days. That time off suddenly felt well earned and he was going to take full advantage of it. He had packed his things in the overnight travel bag, big enough for everything he required. He never understood ten luggage bags being hauled placed as people just had to know the tricks to packing correctly.
Eyal found himself smiling the minute he saw Jess, even when she ran over to him and wrapped her good arm around him he embraced her in a hug. It was the single most best feeling in the world and despite her broken wrist, seeing her seemed to light up his day no end. “My leg is fine, works just as it used to.” He said smiling as he motioned to her wrist. “How is your wrist?” He asked not wanting her to injure herself further in doing anything that was too much for her. Eyal saw the detail or the two clowns he had managed to procure for the day finally find where the woman he had told to protect had gotten too.
“She’s fine and you can go home now.” Eyal stated waving them off but not before giving them both a warning glare, if Jess had been anywhere else he might have dragged them by the ears into the restroom and beaten their heads against the wall for losing sight of her. With Jess there it would wait until they got back though Eyal was more concerned with Jess than anyone else. Smiling at her Eyal hugged her a little tighter. “So how much would you like to get away from your brother?” He asked her knowing he was going to attempt to convince her to go with him but then she had to make that choice herself.
“Because I’ve got two tickets for you and me to get away for a few days if you want a break?” Eyal explained, maybe she would forget about his work comment from earlier. A simple excuse to get her out of the house and yes kidnapping her would have worked just the same. Though maybe giving Jess the choice was the better option there.

don't apologize Jess really didn’t want the detail but Eyal telling them to leave… she didn’t catch it. She had other things on her mind right now. Jess did not want to argue with him over his leg, she didn’t think he needed to be out on it; but she was too tired of arguing to argue. Jessica just wanted peace and quiet. “My wrist is alright. It just needs time to heal.” Jess was at least willing to admit that and while she could be a handful, she wasn’t the type to fuss over going to the hospital or getting the proper attention.
Feeling Eyal’s hug, she couldn’t explain how great that felt. “I’m here aren’t I?” She was teasing him a little bit. He’d convinced her to leave the house so there was that. Then he mentioned something about having gotten them tickets to go away. Jess was an adult, she could go anywhere she pleased and she still had a few more weeks off of work. Jessica quirked a brow.
“Is this the so called business trip you were telling me about?” Jessica dared to question though she smiled some. “I guess I can forgive a small lie to get me out of the house.” Jess wasn’t usually the type to do so, but she simply didn’t want to argue right now. Before she realized what she was doing, she locked lips with him. What was so wrong with PDA? Then again it might not be his thing? "But the answer to your question is yes, yes I will go with you for the weekend." It was hardly kidnapping if she was agreeing to go. Though she realized she didn't have anything packed.

Eyal smiled as he glanced at her wrist, well she would get as much time as she needed to heal if he had anything to do with it. Away from all the stress and her brother that appeared to be bothering her. “I can make sure you get all the time you need for your wrist to heal. Just try to stay away from anything dangerous for a while.” He said trying to be funny but given she was there with him, dangerous was more ironic than anything. The family he worked with and for, he knew how they would react if they knew though it was the handy part of what he did. Deception was a living.
“Yes you are here and I am very glad you are.” He said with a smile as he nudged her lightly. Eyal watched her face to see what her reaction would be, he had never done anything like this before. He had never really invited anyone to the beach either so Jess was a first in many respects for him. Even holding her in his arms felt right to him though he knew better to admit that as rejection he was used to. Better not to feel much of that he thought though when she questioned his business trip he grinned.
“That is the business trip I was talking about. No business at all other than a trip with you.” He stated, he was hardly glad that he had deceived her but it was a greater good. “Glad you can forgive a small lie, it will work out for you though because you get a break so please try not to hold that against me. I was only thinking of you.” He said not sure how forgiving of lies she might be but if she could forgive a small one perhaps there was hope she might one day forgive a bigger one. Testing it was far from his list of things to do though when he felt her lips against his he was lost in her kiss.
Normally he would have shied away from and personal displays, even holding hands was a big thing for him though despite that he found his arms around her enjoying every minute of it. “Really?” He asked almost in a surprised tone as he just grinned at her. “Well then let’s go.” He said as he held out his hand for her, “We can get you whatever you need when we get there if you are worried about that. Though I can guarantee the place we are staying has water and heat so it should be okay.” Eyal added grinning knowing he was keeping it to himself as to where they were going.

don't apologize Jessica semi rolled her eyes. “I’ll be sure not to pick up a coffee cup or use my legs.” She was being sarcastic, but then again it was the only way to be when people were being overprotective. Though she highly doubted that Eyal would lock her up in the house over a coffee cup. At least he was treating her like a human being. She couldn’t help but let her eyes wander over Eyal. What was she thinking? Well if she couldn’t put her hands on him, she could at least make her point known through body language right.
When he nudged her she only returned the favor. She knew he wasn’t big into PDA but she really needed the hug right now. Though she pulled away as she started to get settled down some. They’d been over the whole PDA thing. Jess was respectful of his wishes as often as she could be.
“I’d have preferred you to have been honest, but since it’s a surprise I can make a small exception.” She was making it known that she wasn’t too thrilled with lies in general without actually coming out and saying it. Jess preferred truths. Omission of truth wasn’t necessarily a lie.
Jess pulled out from his hug and their brief moment of PDA. Okay so she was a little bit excited, though when he held out her hand she took it. Jessica was still getting used to some of their cultural differences. Though he had proper etiquette and it made her feel like he took the time and effort to care. Ironic as that sounded when she was rebelling against everything and probably being the most disrespectful to her family that she had been in a while. “Yeah that sounds okay. I only need a few days change of clothes anyway.” Jess did not like to pack a lot. She was one of those hairbrush, toothbrush, and clothing types. Anything beyond that was usually able to be done without for a few days.

Eyal furrowed his brow for a moment. “If you don’t want coffee no one is going to force it on you Jess.” He said not wanting her to think that he would do anything like that. “But if you no longer want to use your legs, I can always carry you onto the plane? Just so you don’t hurt your wrist?” Eyal suggested grinning at her. Sure locking her away was hardly his style, being jealous and protective was very much his style though the way her eyes wondered over him his mind was taken away from most other things.
Jess’s body language said all he needed to know but he had never been overly relaxed about public displays of affection. Behind closed doors that was all changed but in public, he needed to think clearly. Her hug was amazing; she was distracting and the best kind of distracting as he gazed at her deciding to return the look.
“How can I be honest if it is a surprise but it is a good surprise.” Eyal said not wanting to debate the finer points on lies. Then again he had omitted the destination as he debated in his own mind if Jess wanted truth if she should get that. No she preferred him to be honest and he would be as far as he could be in life. When Jess pulled out from his hug he grinned, he was trying to be respectful of her wishes too even if it was a little awkward or he was far from great about it. Then again he got to hug her so really it was a win win situation.
“Well you can get as many clothes as you want to or anything you want to.” Eyal said smiling, “Because we’re off to Vegas for the first part of the trip and then somewhere else but that is one of your surprises so I am not lying I am simply choosing not to tell you.” He said as he walked with her to the gate for the plane.

don't apologize
Jess shook her head trying not to chuckle. “The point is lost. It’s a euphemism. In other words, I was expressing my sarcasm through my words. Sometimes I don’t always mean what I say. They are expressions. Not to be taken literally.” Jessica’s right brow quirked as she closed her left eye when he mentioned carrying her onto the plane. “Wanting to carry me over the threshold already?” She teased him of course with the tradition seeing as he was the one who started the whole carrying thing. It wasn’t like her to not tease him in return.
Jess knew that certain things were not for everyone, so she was usually very respectful of his wishes to keep the PDA to a minimum when they were in public. Though this time she had just really needed the hug. It wouldn’t have mattered to her their location or how many people were watching at that point. Though she decided to counter his argument about the surprise, though that was just more of a conversation point than an actual argument.
“You could just have said that you were going on a trip. You didn’t have to specify if it was business or pleasure. Then the surprise is not ruined, and you aren’t lying.” Jess smirked. “It’s much better to omit things when you are trying to hide something.” She shrugged for a moment. Okay so that came with years of experience and learning from her dad.
“You want me to buy clothes in Vegas?” Jessica chuckled trying to keep the smirk off of her face. “I will buy clothes if I can find something that does not make me look like a two dollar hooker.” In Vegas she was pretty certain that if clothes were a thing, that they were in short supply. Jessica had never been to Vegas. Part of that was because she’d just turned twenty one the past year. Though to be fair she was going on twenty two soon and was well past her teen years.
Jess let him take her arm as they walked. Having hardly slept much recently she was hoping to catch a nap on the plane. “Do you mind if I doze off on the way there?” She questioned. Jess questioned a lot of things anymore. More or less trying to find boundaries was her way of things. Her boundaries had always been well defined and now she felt like there was a new set of them when she was with him. “I haven’t slept well lately.” No, between the pain in her wrist and the nightmares and the being up most of the day arguing with her brother. How could anyone sleep?

Eyal furrowed his brow for a moment while she explained he had misunderstood what she meant. American’s, it would be so much easier if they just said what they meant and made it easier to understand. “Expressions, I can work with that. Just forgive any mistakes I make, I don’t always understand the sarcasm.” Eyal explained trying to smile it off though he knew with Jess he would need to get used to it. “Oh of course, it’s the proper way to do things unless you want to go the less traditional route and you can carry me?” He offered though with a broken wrist and the fact he was taller. No that would likely end up with more issues than it was worth, it was simply his attempt at humour and teasing.
“I could have and I will keep that in mind for the future. No specifying anything that is not the truth.” Eyal said as he realised his mistake there, for a man that lied so effortlessly it was difficult to do that to Jess directly. Business seemed to be the way to go as it implied he could be away for a few days at least. “Has anyone ever told you it is scary that you know how to do that?” He said with a grin though honestly he was impressed by it. “But I will omit in future, lesson learned. Though would you have still come here if it was just a trip?” He asked her, a trip to him implied a trip to the store or a trip that would take an hour or two though maybe it was just one of his learning curves he needed to work on.
Eyal was about to ask her if she preferred to not have clothes as he watched her chuckle. It explained things a little more when she mentioned two dollar hookers which sure, Vegas had a lot of clothes like that. “Maybe I like the two dollar hooker look?” He teased before shaking his head, “No I will make sure you have real clothes, no fish net stuff and no see through anything. Real clothes for you only, I am sure there are a few places we can find them.” He had hardly checked that out in advance but then he was sure there would be a few stores that had the right kind of clothing for her.
Hearing that she wanted to sleep on the way there Eyal had to wonder if she was doing enough of that at home. “I don’t mind at all, you take all the time in the world to sleep if you want to.” Eyal said as he looked worried for a moment. He knew their boundaries were a little fudged at times, cultural differences, different worlds it all added up to make things a little mixed at times. “What is going on Jess? Is there anything I can do to help?” Eyal asked as he let her step onto the plane first as he motioned to a set of seats near the front he knew reclined to make it easier to sleep. “I can get you a blanket and anything else you need to sleep?” He asked her not wanting to keep her up because sleep to him was as important as food.

don't apologize Jessica giggled when he was trying to be funny. “Oh yes, but we’d need to get you a pacifier and a baby bonnet. We don’t want to be tipping off TSA.” There was a small smirk followed by the tell tale wink that she was teasing him as she lightly hip bumped him. “Read my body language. It will tell you everything you need to know M’hudar.” (Smart one) Jessica replied as they arrived towards the plane.
She was grabbing her things and setting them on her shoulder, out of the way. “I’m the daughter of two federal agents. I’d better be able to learn to how to tell a lie without telling a lie. Yet I don't make a habit of lying” Jess settled into a light walk beside Eyal as the conversation lent itself to clothing tastes. Jessica started laughing when he said he liked the two dollar hooker look. “I could be your two dollar hooker for the night.” Jess smirked playing into his teasing.
When he mentioned real clothes she agreed. “Yes, real clothes would be nice.” Though she knew there was real clothes in Nevada, it had been mostly a joke. Once she got to her seat and sat down she heard Eyal asking if there was anything wrong. “I’ll be alright. I took some pain meds for my arm and I can relax, that should solve a good bit of the issue. But thank you for the offer.” She looked around the plane realizing it wasn’t a commercial flight. “I usually bring a blanket and pillow to sleep, but don’t go out of your way.” She shrugged. Well she wasn’t going to force him to get it and she really didn’t like being waited on hand and foot. But she also knew he was just trying to be nice.
“Kapara” (Babe) she called up towards him, her voice was calm and gentle. “Don’t spoil me.” Standing up for a moment she moved to face him standing with her body right up against his. There was no one else on board to see them. “I’m an independent woman. There are some things I can do for myself. You’re being sweet and I appreciate it.” Kissing his lips she smiled towards him. Jess was one of those that liked to let people know when they were being nice to her and that she appreciated it. Her level of respect for people was very high.

Eyal smiled when he heard her giggle. “I think that might suit me well, cutest baby ever.” He said grinning as he laughed feeling her hip bump him. Jess was funny he though knowing that he was a little stilted when it came to humour but Jess managed to do it seamlessly. Read her body language, well that was easier said than done as he watched her for a moment before grinning when he heard her Hebrew. “Then you are a very funny person who likes teasing me Nisicha Riva.” (Princess Bambi) Eyal said hoping her Hebrew was awful and she would never understand what he had just said to her.
If there was ever a statement he never wanted to hear from Jess it was that her parents were federal anything’s. Eyal laughed it off smiling and nodding, yes it was fake but then what could he say to that? “Then you have learned a lot from them and thank you for the advice.” Eyal stated glad that the conversation turned to clothing as he heard her laugh. “I think I would love you to be my two dollar hooker for the night, I might even offer you three dollars for the night too.” He offered grinning at her though honestly the thought of her being a hooker, nope he would have that profession stopped for her before it even started.
Once they got to their seats Eyal heard her talk about being alright and solving the issue. He was more than happy to help her with anything at all though if all it took were painkillers and relaxing. He could leave her be to enjoy relaxing without issue. “Then a blanket and pillow you shall have.” Eyal said as he went to a few of the compartments to find her the pillow and blanket as he came back with both. He was trying to be nice and look after her so if that meant doting on her then so be it. He was happy enough to spend all day doing that if she wanted him to.
Eyal placed the pillow and blanket on her seat when she called him babe. He sensed a trap as soon as she said those three words. Was it a case of do not spoil me in the sense that she wanted more? Or was it that do not spoil me meaning she really meant that as reading her body language was a lot tougher when she was distracting him standing right up against him. Women, why could they not just say what they meant. Eyal found himself checking to see if anyone else was around though it was more of a habit as he knew beyond the pilots there was no one else there.
With her kissing him, Eyal wrapped his arms around her much more enthusiastically than he had done in the airport. He was always different when there was no one around to see him, as letting anyone know that he liked Jess beyond the very few and far between displays of any kind. No it was for her own safety and good and he was never the public affection type. Eyal pulled back from her kiss for a moment. “I love you as an independent woman and I have no doubt of it. I just want to make you happy and if that involves me getting you a blanket and a pillow I will. No mark on any independence at all. Just know that I’m here for you and your independence.” Eyal said as he wanted to keep her in his arms forever, she was half his age but he hardly cared about that as he held her.

don't apologize Jess gave hima look when he called her Princess Bambi. Had he really just gone there? “Bambi? You know Bambi was a boy right?” She retorted as she teased him. Though to be honest it was kind of a cute nickname and it had Jess blushing a bright red color trying to hide her face. Eyal had never been anything but sweet and helpful to her. She’d come to enjoy their time together. Was that so hard to see?
All Jess could do was laugh with Eyal, his laughter was contagious. She just shook her head when he mentioned three dollar hookers. “Thanks” she replied as she took the pillow and blanket and made herself somewhere comfortable to try and get some rest later. For now, she could at least converse until she fell asleep.
There was no trap. Jessica wasn’t someone who tried to make a trap with her words. That wasn’t her style. Jess had never really meshed with people her own age. Too immature. She could only smile as he started trying to talk his way out of the small hole he had been making since they got on the plane. “You are sweet.” Jessica pulled the blanket over her shoulder remaking herself comfortable on Eyal’s shoulder. There was a small smile. “I could get used to it.” She closed her eyes and tried not to focus on the plane itself. At least they weren’t as claustrophobic as elevators.

Eyal could see the look on her face which told him she understood exactly what he had just said. He was hardly going to explain the reason why he called her Bambi but he nodded to the boy comment. Even the bright red colour of her face was cute while he watched her try to hide it. “Bambi was a boy? Since when?” He teased, “But boy or not you are my Bambi and look very cute.” Spending time with Jess was amazing, she was okay so far with his lack of personal affection showed which usually killed any relationship he started.
Time with Jess was like a holiday; no matter what was going on he just wanted to be with her because she made his world brighter. At her reply Eyal just smiled about the hookers, he was sure he would pay a lot more for her however Jess was the furthest thing from a hooker. Watching her make a place for herself to sleep Eyal knew he would be awake. It was what he did; a person he cared about was asleep so he would be awake to make sure that they got their sleep. A thing or a reflex from his job but either way it was his thing.
Sweet. Oh how that might change he thought if she knew the whole truth about him but if anyone was sweet it was the girl who was making herself comfortable on his shoulder. If there was ever anyone who could be his reason for finding an ounce of good in the world it was her. Eyal rubbed her upper arm lightly when he saw her eyes were closed. “Thanks and I will always be sweet to you.” He said quietly as he thought about her claustrophobia and an enclosed space in a plane was maybe a bad idea. “Just relax Jess; we’ll be there before you know it.” He said as he relaxed into the chair.
