"I guess a bigger zip-line would be good," she observed with a grin, "that way it would be harder to hear his little-girl-screams!" But then she shrugged, becoming more serious. "When he offered to buy me a car...it's hard, letting someone do something that big for you, but I know for Steven, it's his way of...dunno, being a big brother, and it makes him happy. I mean, I had a crappy little death-trap, and it's going to be a while before I could get something better."
In all honesty, once she's spotted the Mustang, she'd known what to do. "He'd never do anything like that for himself, and he's done so much for us since Dad died...gave up his childhood so he could be a pain in the ass trying to raise us, and even now he still does."
Sometimes it drove her mad that Steven was so 'Mother-Hen', but she always, in the long run, appreciated what he did for her, and she just wished he'd do more for himself now and again that didn't involve taking care of other people.
"I guess sometimes you can just fall into 'good deeds' and not even realize it," she muttered quietly, "and a good man won't run from it."

Fin laughed hearing about the screams of her brother. “Yeah I guess some people just have that way about them, making others happy makes them happy. If it works for you then why not, after all can’t really beat an upgrade from a death-trap right?” Fin asked, he had to wonder really why her brother would let her have a death trap in the first place but then he was hardly sure on the whole thing to be honest. He took reliability over safety, as long as it started he hardly minded what it was.
“I think it’s a good thing he did, I have to admit, I picked up and dropped of at school. Made dinner for us both while our parents worked, it was fun for a while but he must have at least enjoyed it a little.” Fin said, “Besides he has a great sister from what I can see so he hasn’t done that bad.” He added grinning, oh Logan was a pain in the backside each and every day. The guy was nice, funny, athlete, vet but then he was either too trusting or tried to fix what never needed to be.
It was annoying given Logan was the junior in the family and Fin never liked the idea of needing to be fixed at all. If anything he took pride in the fact that although he was damaged goods, likely broken in side he still had a job after a fashion. Not conventional but it worked for him and worked for his skill set too.
“Well glad you fall into good deeds and there are plenty of good men that run from it. Trust me, I’ve seen it.” He said shrugging, “People do the wrong things for the right reasons and the not everyone is good. People run and expect the next person to pick up the slack.” He added having come across that too many times as well.

"I guess it's easier to stay detached." Isla shrugged. "Steven tells me all the time about people calling 911 for something they see, but they don't take the time to actually check into it. Most of the time it's just someone sleeping or something, but heck, if there was a real emergency it seems like it would be nice to actually see if you can help."
Of course, there was the fear of doing something wrong and getting caught in a lawsuit, there was fear of some sort of assault, particularly from the homeless population, both fears that were largely unfounded, and there was just plain laziness.
"Then there are people like me, who will jump in without looking," she grinned, "and it's only sheer luck that we don't get into something we can't get out of." She laughed. "But then, sometimes it gets us free breakfast and nice conversation, so no harm, as long as big brother doesn't find out!"
