[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany was wandering down the halls. Waiting on tests was killer. Leslie was already released into Kelly’s care and Kelly was somewhere. She was fairly certain he was on a tea run. Britt was a tea lover, and she was fairly certain he wouldn’t have left for any other reason than her persistence of wanting tea. Britt was minding her own business when Sydney walked by. “Paige?” No Paige was dead. There was no way that this person was Paige, but she looked exactly like her. Sydney didn’t react, she wanted so much to do so. Dammit Britt. she thought to herself as she saw her twin. Sydney kept walking. It was one of the first few days she’d been strong enough to walk and the doctor wanted her doing just that. “Excuse me Ma’am?” Brittany tried again hoping to get Sydney’s attention. When Sydney turned towards Britt there was a confused expression on her face. “Sorry, were you talking to me?” Sydney faked the fact that she knew who this was. No one could know the truth. “Paige?” Britt asked again. “Who? No.. Sydney.” The reply came complete with a quirked brow. Brittany sighed. So now her twin was taking to lying to her? Faking her death making her miserable and then pretending to be someone she wasn’t. Brittany knew Paige better than this. What the hell was going on? She was soon regretting this decision to scour the halls. Kelly was silent as he walked back to where Brittany was, the tea in his hands as Leslie napped in a carrier on his back. It had taken some doing, but he had managed to find the exact brand of tea that Brittany liked. To his surprise, she was in the hallway, talking to someone. Seeing who it was, he went over to his wife. "Hey Babe, got your tea," he said, ignoring the other woman, giving the appearance of being the epitome of calm. But he wasn't calm as he gave her the tea and then gently took the pack off of his back and cradled Leslie in his arms as he sat next to Brittany. Oh, no. Oh he was seething. What the hell was she doing here? She had caused Brittany nothing but pain and now she was just waltzing right back into her life? And wasn't she supposed to be dead? What the hell was going on?

A car accident had brought him to the hospital to see Britt. Though Beth had assured him Britt was fine, a part of him needed to hear it directly from her. Worrying about her was one of his favorite pastimes – maybe it was the protective brother in him. The last thing Tanner expected to see there was his sister… talking to herself. The resemblance was uncanny. "Uh… Beth? I think you stopped too quickly on that last red light. I must have hit my head. I'm seeing Britt's double." No, not double. Britt's doppelganger sported dark hair. The only person that looked like Britt was Paige, but that was impossible because of one minor little detail. Paige was dead. He'd attended the funeral. Could Britt possibly have another sister? One she didn't know about – that she could have been separated from at birth… The idea certainly seemed more plausible than looking at a ghost. "Britt," Tanner approached her cautiously, walking the length of the corridor. She'd taken Paige's death hard. So, this – whatever this was – couldn't be easy for her either. Sure, Kelly was there too, lending a comforting presence, but Tanner planned to be there for his sister. As the voice of reason, if he needed to be. "Are you okay? What's going on?" [attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany took the tea from Kelly with a thankful smile but laid into Paige nevertheless. “Don’t sit here and lie to me Paige. That might work on someone who is blind. Just because you color your hair and go by a different name now doesn’t mean you aren’t Paige.” Brittany wasn’t done when Tanner came to interrupt, asking if things were alright. Did they really look okay to him? Brittany took a breath. “This bitch has me confused with someone else.” Sydney informed Tanner. No she wasn’t being spoken to, but that didn’t matter. She was going to answer the question before Brittany decided to give her some other crazy story. “Excuse me? I’m not the one pretending to be something I’m not. Your name is Sydney now but let me guess it will be Tamara when someone else is shooting at me again right?” Brittany leveled eyes with Sydney. It was clear the girls were going to keep at it, if given half the chance. Kelly glanced at Brittany as she snapped at Paige, telling her not to lie to her, adding that it would probably work on someone who wasn't blind and that the changes she had made didn't change who she was. "Easy, Babe," he murmured soothingly as he checked to make sure that Leslie hadn't been woken up. He hated that she was all worked up now. Damn Paige for doing this to her.
He then turned to watch as Tanner came in asking if everything was all right before stating that he must've hit his head because he was seeing double. "No you're not seeing double because of a concussion," he assured. Well, at least he hoped he wasn't. He had no idea if they had gotten into an accident, though from what he could see, they hadn't, so yeah, the worry was unfounded. Hopefully, this helped him not to be so freaked out.
When Paige said that Brittany had her confused with somebody else, calling her a bitch, Kelly whipped around and glared at her. "You can leave," he snarled. Not standing for that crap, he thought to himself. Yes, he was being protective, but he didn't care. If she was gonna call his wife a "bitch", he was going to get nasty as hell. What could he say? He was loyal to a fa=ult and everyone knew it. And it looked like Tanner was about to witness this. And if that meant things went haywire, oh well.
He turned to Brittany as she pointed out that she wasn't the one who was pretending to be someone else, stating that even though she was going by the name Sydney for the time being but that her name would be something else when she was she was being fired on again. "Forget her, Babe. She's not worth it," he murmured soothingly. No, anyone who could rile her up like this wasn't worth her time. And he was going to do whatever it took to keep her away from the toxicity.

The man marching down the hall in their direction didn't look pleased. If he could read body language, it wouldn't be hard to tell people were beginning to gang up on Sydney – even from a distance. Hell, he might have even been able to overhear the conversation taking place. Considering words like 'bitch' were being exchanged, things didn't look to improve unless someone stepped in to intervene. As the man got closer, it was easy to tell he was carrying a little bundle in his arms – his and Sydney's, no doubt. So the confrontation had grown by two – well, one and a newborn baby. A girl, if the pink blanket and beanie were any indication, but Tanner was pretty sure the baby wouldn't be weighing in on the situation... unless she started crying, which was a very real possibility with tempers flaring. Voices were already being raised. Dallas passed Emerson off to Sydney. It looked like – to Tanner, at least – that Dallas was already busy sizing Kelly up, so that if he needed to incapacitate the other man, he could. Neither was Dallas afraid of getting right up in Kelly's face. That took some guts. Of course, from what little Tanner knew of Paige, she was a DEA agent. If her husband had similar training, this could go downhill fast. "Don't know who you are. Don't care. I'm only going to say this once. Back the hell off."Tanner was tempted to stick everyone in a corner – especially Kelly and this new guy. They both seemed about ready to start trading blows. That was the last thing this volatile situation needed. "Everyone calm down." Tanner was talking before he realized he'd started, trying to put himself between two men intent on protecting their wives. There was no way this could end poorly. It was a bad sign when he was reasoning with himself sarcastically. "We're all adults here. Almost all of us. Why don't we act like it?"Brittany Severide , @kellyseveride

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] Brittany carefully took Leslie from Kelly and handed her to Beth. It was a clear indication that Brittany wasn’t going to step away from this; but wanted her daughter well out of the way. Then someone came up telling Kelly to back off. Oh it must be the new male flavor of the week. “One of your egotistical boy toys already smacked me around. I’m not scared of this one.” Brittany moved between Tanner and Kelly. So she was being protective. That tended to happen when your twin’s partners couldn’t keep their hands to themselves. Britt saw Sydney’s facial expression falter. Apparently Paige didn’t know about the cop who hit me. “That’s right. That cop you were seeing. Mistook you for me and put his hands in places they didn’t belong.” Brittany wasn’t going to let up. “Then the next I hear anything you’re dead, I’m still not over that. Then you turn up here and lie to me. I got shot for you!” Brittany had her back up against Kelly. She was making more space between everyone if she could. Sydney put her hand out to stop Dallas. “Dallas, don’t.” She couldn’t do much with Emerson if he chose to walk around her but she could at least try. She took one step in front of him knowing full well he wouldn’t do anything to her. “She’s rightfully upset. I remind her of a twin she lost.” Sydney wasn’t going to admit to Brittany that she was Paige but she knew Dallas would know the truth already and maybe if he was thinking clear enough catch what she had implied. “She needs to grieve and I’m feeling weak.” She was supposed to be up and walking around, not wearing herself down. “Take me back to my room?” She offered it as a suggestion hoping that the overprotective husbands wouldn’t go off on each other in the middle of the hospital. Kelly scowled at Paige as Brittany reminded her that one of her boy toys had already smacked her around, adding that she wasn't afraid of the one that was here now. "And I'll have no problem kicking his ass if he tries anything," he added. Yes, he was protective, but how could he not be? Especially after everything that had happened to her. So yeah, he would readily take on anyone he needed to to make sure his wife stayed safe. His wife. Wow. That never got old. Okay, wow. Not the time.
As she backed up, he went to take her in his arms, going to give her a comforting kiss on her shoulder as she went on to tell Paige that the cop she had been seeing at the time had thought Brittany was her and had touched her, adding that the next thing she was hearing was that she was dead which she wasn't over, finishing by saying that she had gotten shot for her. "Easy, Babe. I've got you," he murmured, going to place another kiss on her shoulder. Hate that she's so upset, he thought to himself. Not that he could blame her for being upset. He just didn't know how to help her. "Love you," he whispered in her ear. Wish I knew what to do, he thought to himself.
His eyes then flickered as the other woman spoke, telling the other man that Brittany had every right to be upset as she reminded her of a twin she had lost, going on to say that she was feeling weak and wanted to leave. "Yeah that's probably for the best," he agreed. Okay, he was sounding like a b-d but again, protective, so he wasn't going to apologize. Yes, he could hold a grudge. Just ask Matt.
