Steven watched Alyssa as she explained why the beach was a better option than a runway. Her tone serious he guessed it was a case of she knew a lot about planes and he was only going by the passenger feel of it all. The pilot telling him they were going to crash onto a beach, as beautiful as that might be he would rather have had tarmac and an emergency crew on hand. Steve however was far from a pilot which given her explanation on the subject showed as he nodded. “I would never trade it either, well maybe the almost drowning you part, almost missing that you were there in the first place part too but other than that. Perfect landing.” He said grinning at her.
“Then feel free to teach me.” He retorted as he almost squealed when she started tickling him. Hardly manly but then again he thought there might be rules in place for that already. He tried to squirm his way from her touch though kissing her was a good a distraction as any. Her kiss was amazing, the thing he never wanted to end and if he could spend all day kissing her. He would have done that gladly without refusal. He doubted Boden would be happy with that but Steven never cared what others thought about things much.
Steven frowned for a moment when she spoke about it being complicated. What was complicated about it other than finding that right place to be though Steven knew little of moving house. His attempts had been stopped when his father died and although his sisters have moved out, Steven was still at home looking after family. Yes he was that ‘still live at home with mum’ guy but at least Alyssa had found that out early on. Via a broken leg sure things could have been smoother with that but she knew none the less.
To hear her reasons Steven just smiled and nodded until he had her against the side of the ambulance. “I’d love to hear from you however much you want. You might hear more from me too now I know you’re in the same city or at least country.” He said grinning. Steven could feel her hand run down his arm before he kissed her again as he stepped away from her in an attempt to give her space or actual space of about a foot or so. Rightly or wrongly or just crazy Steven had an idea. “So how about this for a place to stay.” He began, “Either choice I’m okay with just so you know and no pressure for either option.”
Steven was far from stupid and he knew that offering for her to stay at his place was a pretty big leap. Then again if there was ever a test to see if something would work, moving it was just about as big as things got. Beyond the ten day holiday and weekends away, yes he had two sisters so he had all the gossip magazines on how this worked. The ten signs it would fail and the thirty signs of things after that. “Why don’t you move in with me?” Steven asked her seriously, “There’s a spare room if you don’t want to share, plenty of space, garden, garage and you know the deal with my mum already. She generally keeps to herself and the place is big enough to co-exist without being under each other’s feet.”
He wanted to explain that part as the family situation was far from the typical one. Then these days what was typical but Steven knew it could be, awkward to say the least. “Only if you want Alyssa. There would be no price tags, no rent and lots of food.” He added not sure if that would help her any though it all depends on if he had seriously over stepped with things or if he had just signalled the end of any future for the two of them depending on what issue of Vogue you read.
