| S he had no idea what time it was when she woke up. She rolled over and realized that Jay had moved her into the bed, she didn't remember being moved the night before but Jay was right beside her. The puppy curled up at his feet.
Though as soon as the dog saw that someone was awake he started whining to go out. "In a minute Tin-tin , can I at least put slippers and a jacket on?" she grumbled as she scooped up the puppy. "Let him sleep" she stated as she stuck her slippers on and groggily rubbed her eyes with her free hand. She grabbed a jacket on her way out the door to let the dog out after clipping on his leash. Leaning against the building the events from the night before whirling in her head. What point was there in dwelling on it. Today was another day.

Jay blinked as he became aware of a familiar voice talking. "Wha---?" he murmured. What was going on exactly? There was a woof and he blinked again, trying to get things into focus. Rinty. The alert dog. Damn. He probably needs to go out, he thought to himself. "I got him," he said, rolling over. "Sleep," he encouraged her. He knew how much she liked to sleep in on their days off and he wasn't going to make her get up to take care of the dog that they had bought to help him with his PTSD. That wouldn't be fair.
However, as soon as he had completely rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, he saw that Erin was already out of the cabin. "Damn," he mumbled as he got out of bed. Oh well. Might as well make himself useful and make breakfast. He slipped on a pair of boxers and jeans and went into the kitchen, where he got the ingredients to make sausage and eggs, and started cooking. Hopefully she liked sausage and eggs, but if not, he could always make something else. He didn't really care. The point was to pull his own weight here and not leave her feeling like she was doing everything around the place.

| O h yes, Erin loved her sleep as much as the next person in the morning; but Jay had been up most of the night because of her. The least she could do was let him sleep and let his dog outside. Except Erin had forgotten that dogs especially puppies like to get into trouble. The kind of trouble that if you weren't paying attention, could be hilarious.
Erin was lost in her thoughts when the puppy started wrapping her up in the leash before hearing Jay and darting back inside. Erin tried to regain footing but feet what were those? She couldn't move them. Thump and a bang. The bang was Erin landing on the half open door as the puppy tried taking off. "JAY!!" she squealed from the doorway. Though she was totally laughing like a kid as she was trying to unwrap the leash but it was leading to puppy kisses.
"No tin stop!" she sighed. Well he'd managed to figure out that she needed to laugh alright. "Jay!!!" she called again. Nope she wasn't able to get herself out of this mess. She couldn't even reach the leash now... It was like being three and not being able to tie your shoe laces. Puppies were... she just stared at the dog.

Hearing Erin's squeal of laughter, Jay turned, barely remembering to turn off the stove before he followed her voice, skidding to a stop and laughing when he saw the sight. Somehow, she had gotten tangled up in Rin-Tin-Tin's leash. That is awesome, he thought to himself. However, he knew enough not to say this out loud. He couldn't believe that this had happened. It was too funny.
Still laughing, he walked over to her and started studying her, trying to figure out a way to get her untangled. "How did you even manage this?" he wondered. Wow...this is...hilarious, he thought again. He was half tempted to go see if he could find his phone, but he had a feeling that if he took a picture of this, she would kick his ass.

| E rin laughed harder hearing Jay laughing. "It's not funny Jay!" she tried to protest but it was too late, she was laughing he was laughing and the dog was wagging his tail like all was right with the world. Erin just nailed Jay with a look when he asked how she managed to get all tangled up. "I took the dog out" she said. Well that was kind of obvious but that was all that happened. She laughed as she tried to reach for the leash missing again.
Picking her legs up she set them in Jay's lap. "Can I come out of jail now please detective?" she teased as she reached up for the leash again. The dog now happily sat his behind down on Erin's arm. Erin just shook her head. "I promise I'll behave" she added with a small smirk of amusement. It felt good to laugh though she had to admit that. Last night was not forgotten but she was distracted.
Managing to sit up in his lap, she was totally at the mercy of him untying her feet from the dog leash. "Merit points for good behaviour right?" she added playing with the side of his face before stealing a kiss. It was nice having someone to laugh with, though if she knew his thoughts on the cellphone the look from earlier would have been child's play.

Jay tried to stifle his laughter to no avail Erin said that the situation wasn't funny, though she was laughing as well, so he didn't really take her seriously. She then laughed as she reached for the leash and missed as she explained that she had just taken the dog out and had ended up getting tangled. "Okay, let me see if I can get you out," he chuckled and went to grab the leash, intending to unwrap it from around her body.
After sitting down, she plopped her feet on his lap asking if she could come out of jail, saying that she'd behave. "Maybe," he replied. Crap. She's trying to get me worked up, he thought to himself. Yeah, no, that wasn't going to happen.
He then moaned and leaned into her touch as she said that she got merit points for good behavior. "Hell yeah," he answered huskily. Gonna be the death of me, he thought to himself as he went to kiss her. But damn...what a way to go..

| W hen Jay had her unwrapped she snaked her arms around his neck as the puppy went bounding off. There was a smirk on her face. Leaning into his shoulder she smiled. "Good morning sunshine" she teased lightly. She'd not actually given him a proper good morning yet. So this was going to have to do. She rolled up out of his lap stealing another kiss as she heard him. What was she going to do with him? That voice he was getting dangerous if he wasn't careful. Though she had a feeling he knew exactly what he was doing.
Letting the dog out of his collar. She then turned her attention back to Jay as she offered him a hand. "Just don't tell Dawson you had to save me from Rin-tin-tin" she laughed pulling him up towards her. Anyone who had no idea that Jay had named his dog that would be so quite confused.
"What did your damsel in distress disrupt this time?" she teased lightly playfully poking him in the side as she closed the door with her foot realizing that it wasn't shut all the way. She had a smile on her face, so contrary to the night before when she was in tears. She was distracted enough for now, if she simmered down though there might be a problem.

He smiled as she told him good morning, calling him "Sunshine". "Good morning to you too, Gorgeous," he responded. And she was gorgeous, even if she didn't realize it. She was always taking his breath away without even trying. How is it that she's so amazing? he wondered. He just didn't understand, even though he knew it was true.
He then laughed as she told him not to tell Antonio that he had had to save her from Rin-Tin-Tin. "Taking it to the grave," he promised. Hey, if she didn't want it getting out, it was the least he could do. Besides, he could understand where she was coming from. It would've been embarrassing for him, and if she was feeling that way, the last thing he was going to do was prolong it in any way.
When she asked him what she had interrupted this time, he shook his head. "Nothing," he assured her. And it was the truth. There had been no nightmares or dreams. Just blissful slumber. For that, he was thankful. He had needed it. And besides, waking up to his girl and his dog was a pretty good way to wake up if you asked him.

| I t was good to know that Jay slept through the night without incident. That put her mind at ease. Though somewhere between the dog trying to sneak away with eggs and Erin trying to talk about any and everything to keep her own mind off of things, he decided they were leaving the house. Erin had been really puzzled when he'd told her to go get dressed into something decent. Was he taking her somewhere just to get her mind off of things?
Erin started playing a million questions on the car trip. Okay well anything to keep her mind off the looming night before. The detective in her was curious but he gave up nothing. Erin should have known better, if Jay wanted to keep secret, then he was going to keep a secret.
It was the middle of the week. "Did you forget to tell me you had to testify in another state this week?" She quirked a brow in his direction. Right a Thursday and they were pulling up to the court house. That was the only thing she could think of, was that he had to testify and maybe he was just hiding it? Though she wouldn't blame him. Then again this was Jay... usually he mentioned if he had to testify.

Jay knew that he was being impulsive, but he didn't care. He loved Erin more than life itself and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And that was why they were pulling up to a court house. When she asked him if he had forgotten to tell her that he had to give testimony for a case, he laughed and shook his head. Couldn't blame her for coming to that conclusion though. "Marry me?" he asked. Please let her say yes, he thought to himself. To be honest though, he wouldn't blame her if she turned him down. After all, he hadn't done this with a lick of planning and it was the least romantic proposal ever.
He then bit his lip and glanced at her. Maybe this was a mistake, he thought. Oh, asking her to marry him wasn't a mistake, but the way he had gone about it was actually pretty crappy and she'd probably appreciate it more if he did this the traditional way which would include asking Voight for her hand. Okay, maybe he was panicking, but when it came to Erin, he just wanted everything to be perfect for her. He wanted her to be able to have the proposal and wedding of her dreams.

| A ny other woman might have just thrown him a punch. Erin with everything that had gone wrong in her life and could go wrong in her life was completely speechless. It took a lot of guts to drag her down here with a two word proposal and not expect to be smacked in the face. Erin's jaw dropped at the two words and she looked as if she was trying to screw her brain back in for a minute.
Shaking her head, like she was trying to process something. "Right now?" she clearly got the message. Though she was going to make him sweat this one out for a moment as she looked over from her side of the car. "Jay ... I..." Okay Erin stop stumbling on your words. It's a yes or a no question.
Her side ways head tilted right side up. "Yes. Just Yes" she was soon sitting on his lap in the drivers seat. Voight was going to kill her for this if he ever found out but she didn't care. This was her life and right in front of her was the man who always stood by her, why would she ever let that go? She'd have to be stupid, crazy, or both. There were no words just her settling into stealing his lips for her own. He needed to stop with the lip biting it was... intoxicating.

Jay wasn't really sure what kind of reaction he was expecting, but it wasn't her asking if he meant right then and a simple utterance of his name. "I---I know, it was a pretty crappy proposal. I...should've thought it out more," he said apologetically. Of course she's not going to accept it. You did a piss-poor job of making the moment special, he chided himself. And she would want something spectacular, just like she deserved.
His face then lit up as she responded that she would marry him. "Yeah?" he asked. She said yes? She said yes! he thought. He wasn't sure if she would've. Mot that he would've blamed her for saying no. But she had said yes. It was amazing.

| E rin put her hand over his mouth as he kept talking. "Jay... Shut up." She replied kissing him her lips replacing her hand as as her arms wrapped around neck. He questioned it. "Yeah" she confirmed. Why did he have to go and be so... cluelessly perfect for her. When she was at her worst, he was lifting her up and when she was tripping over puppy leashes he was right there laughing with her. Erin sat against the steering wheel smiling at him.
The blonde reached across the way and ruffled his hair messing it all up as she smirked at him. She hadn't really lost her playful mood from earlier that morning. Before she realized who was doing what they were outside of the car in the chilly Wisconsin air. Erin snuggled into his shoulder and looked up at him with a smile as she lightly hip bumped him a bit.

Jay smiled as she told him to shut up, kissing him and confirming her answer as a yes. He leaned into her touch as she ruffled his hair and then reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring that was gold with a white diamond in the middle, going to slip it on her finger. It wasn't very fancy, but it had been his mother's and there was no one else he'd rather give it to. "I love you," he murmured. And that was certainly the truth. He couldn't even put into words how much he loved her.
Once they were outside of the car, he went to pull her close, attempting to keep her warm. "Who do you want as our witnesses?" he queried, going to place a kiss on the top of her head. Personally, he was all for the Severides, but maybe she would think it would be awkward to have her ex there watching her get married. Which, yeah, that would be, and the last thing he'd ever want to do is rub it in Kelly's face, even if he was married to someone else. That was just bad manners.

| F ancy wasn't exactly Erin's style. She could tell the ring was older and wanted to ask him about it; but she figured if there was something he wanted her to know then he would tell her. "I love you too" she whispered as the cold air reminded her why she loved the Chicago air back home so much. She was off in her own little world when he started asking questions.
"That's more of a loaded question than your proposal" she teased lightly. The proposal had been so much easier to decide. As for who wouldn't tell Voight? Not so simple. Erin looked towards Jay. "I'm gonna let you decide" she pointed out. Nope. She didn't want to try and put that puzzle together, she'd go back to thinking about Voight.
