James Reagan If anyone had told him he'd be working for the FBI he'd have laughed, but after his return to Chicago and a little time working for the Arson Investigation team he'd gone into the FBI - the options there for someone with his skill and expertise and experience were far better than what he was dealing with, not that he minded being shuffled around, but he hoped this was the last move for a while.
It was 7am and James had arrived at work early, his sitter had decided to do an 'overnight' sitting as James now had a spare room so she could stay during the night and watch the kids first thing in the morning, allowing James to rush off. He appreciated being able to dash off, plus he'd make it up to them later. The FBI was different to his time as Army CID, different to the SRU even - but it was a different challenge and that was what James liked, new challenges and experiences. Plus, it wasn't like he was new to the whole 'moving around' thing being former Army-CID, it was in his norm.
He reached his new desk which was in the far corner of the bullpen, it seemed to be next to another empty desk that looked like it was reserved for someone, maybe another new agent, either way he didn't mind. As he set the box he'd been carrying down on the table and his backpack down on the floor an agent approached "Hey, new agent?" he asked and James nodded "Yeah, Reagan" he extended his hand and the man shook it "Johns, Get settled in I'll catch up with you later" he gave a curt nod and strolled off. James shrugged and sat down at his new desk, getting himself organised. Well the new challenge was beginning. notes ♡

Ziva had applied to the FBI when the Sokolov's first moved to Chicago. It wasn't unusual for the local departments get back to her first. Though when the FBI job was secured, she most definitely did not intend to stay with Arson. That had to be the single most boring task. She had rode in with Esau, so she had gotten in at her usual stupid o'clock. Plenty of time to reserve her desk.
Then there was the whole hearing the familiar name of her old Arson partner. No... there was no way. Reagan was a common last name but not that voice. She wasn't very good with voices but certain ones would occasionally stick out from time to time. Ziva was in the middle of a conversation with one of the agents in Russian.
Moving back to her desk she looked over at the familiar face. "If I did not know any better, I would think that you were harassing me Agent Reagan" She was teasing slightly. She was still trying to figure out how this had happened. Once she got over that part, she was actually kind of glad that there was familiar face.

James Reagan "If I did not know any better, I would think that you were harassing me Agent Reagan" James heard the voice and looked up as he saw her sit down at her desk, he chuckled shaking his head - he'd heard a familiar voice which stood out from the other voices when he walked in but hadn't actually taken notice "Could say the same about you" he replied with a wry smirk. Okay it was nice admittedly to see someone else familiar around, granted Josh was here but he'd probably likely not see him all that much, and maybe one or two others - but it was good to see someone familiar actually next to him, he sat back in his seat and turned his chair to face her "Never knew you applied, I must have been a terrible partner" he added knowing full well what he'd probably get in response. Around him the bullpen seemed to be buzzing with an air of something, and James was picking up on it, but he decided to focus, it wasn't likely to come drag them into it...would they?!

" That can be arranged, if you would like " | [attr="class","walkpost"] [attr="class","linescr"] "Could say the same about you." Please if she was going to harrass someone she would do a lot better than showing up at the FBI building on their first day of work. Ziva knew that HRT being not even in the same building was going to be like dangling a carrott in front of a rabbit and then not letting them have it. Esau worked for HRT and though it was the same compound, the place was a maze. Esau hadn't been against her applying to the FBI but there had been a long discussion about it for sure. Israeli men. Ugh.
"Never knew you applied, I must have been a terrible partner." Ziva raised a brow. Did he even have any idea how long she had been trying to get into the FBI? She just shook her head. WHY did she have him for a partner again? Was there just a label on her side that just pointed to her needing an annoying partner who didn't even have to try? "You think you can keep up with the feds?" she mused.

James Reagan "You think you can keep up with the feds?" James snorted shaking his head “Just cause you don’t think I can doesn’t mean I can’t” he replied nailing her with a look, he could tell she was just really hard to impress but then again he didn’t come here to impress people. As he shook his head and returned his attention to his desk his phone rang and glancing at Ziva he shook his head again - scooping it up, sitting back he placed the handset to his ear “Reagan, yes” he sat up now seemingly intrigued, he tugged out a piece of paper from his notebook that he’d placed on the side and grabbing a pen he took notes as he listened then standing he dropped the handset down and held out the paper to her “You’re the boss” he replied - it was a call out to some sort of assault in a busy train station the full details of course would be given when they arrived. notes ♡

At his snort, Ziva pierced coffee stained visages cold enough to freeze over the Sahara. Looks didn't work with her. Ziva's years of training taught her better. In fact, she didn't even flinch but she looked almost ready to kill. There was no emotion behind the cold stare. Behind her walls was not a broken person who needed special treatment for her misfortunates. True like most she had her misgivings in life, but her personal life was her personal life. "Do all men have big mouths or is that a Canadian thing?" Yes by his accent she could differentiate between the two. He was clearly as American as she was, probably just on a piece of paper.
Ziva's profiling skills were on the prowl. Then again when weren't they? Watching as he answered the phone. Clearly being in charge was his thing. When he told her that she was the boss somewhere she was amused by this. None of that showed. Either he was scared or testing her. Taking the piece of paper from him she glanced over the piece of paper. Grabbing the keys she headed for the door. Either he kept up or did not that was his perogative. She had learned from Gibbs and Gibbs did not put up with lolly gagging to the scene of a crime.

James Reagan
She evidently didn’t like what he’d said but he simply brushed it off, it’d take a lot to make him squirm "Do all men have big mouths or is that a Canadian thing?" James narrowed his eyes but didn’t say a word, seriously - that comment was going to keep going over his head, as did her watching him - he didn’t care, he could handle himself and he could certainly deal with the worst of personalities, and he wasn’t going to hold her personality against her. As she headed for the door James grabbed his backpack and darted after her, grabbing his jacket on the way. The drive there had been insane to say the least, but James had simply just clung on for dear life and stayed as calm as he could be - maybe it was cause he was used to speed or maybe he was just used to insanity, either way his legs didn’t give way when he clambered out of the car upon arrival and he simply grabbed his backpack and followed Ziva. The scene was a hive of activity, people being evacuated, spectators being pushed back and police and CSU going in and out.

Ziva was just... distant with everyone. Her husband was the exception. Even if they were in the same office complex, the distance between buildings was enough they wouldn't distract each other. Ziva read his body language. Clearly she was getting to him. While he might not say it outloud she could see the annoyance laced into his features when she'd gone after Canadian men. Note to self sore spot.
Once they got where they were going, she looked around the hustle and bustle of the train station. This was Chicago everyday someone go assaulted on a train. This wasn't the CPD and she certainly wasn't going to hold up their job. Ziva hadn't ever really exactly played well with local LEO's. Now was certainly no exception.
"Sokolov, FBI." Seriously could the CPD not handle their own issues? Though inflection of her tone and her eyes did not give way to her annoyance of the entire situation.
