Taking a breath, Mattie tried to center herself, starting by believing what he said. She had to, or things were going to be more complicated. And if she found out later that he was lying, she would find a way to get her hands in him and turn him into Koda kibble. "No, I'm not fine," she admitted, shaking her head. "I hate that my partner got injured, I hate what's going on with you, I hate not knowing for sure..." Well, that was enough of that, and she stopped herself, taking another breath, then stepping toward him. "Let's get you booked." There was the hint of a grim smile. "Slowly...I want to be sure this is done right." The longer they took here, the longer before he got to the part where he had to strip down and put on an orange suit, although she could only stall so long. "Is there anyone you want to call?" Maybe he had an ally who who could help him straighten things out? Thomas Voight

Thomas wasn’t lying he just wished he had an iron clad way to prove it. It wasn’t like he thought he had to go around in life making every moment an alibi moment because really he hadn’t expected to be arrested. The day had gone entirely wrong and now what he was stuck with a cop who had every right to hate him because he couldnt prove anything.
He listened to her before he nodded, “I hate what’s going on too, I hate that your partners hurt because of me and I hate not knowing what is happening and why. This isn’t how I work.” He said trying to make sense of things, he was a fed yes he had fired his weapon and killed people but it was always in defence of himself or his partner. He didnt just go around killing people let alone another cop.
“Thanks and I wouldnt expect to be booked any other way. Just do me a favour, dont put me in with the others.” He asked knowing it was a big ask but he was sure he wouldnt get out alive if he was put in with other prisoners. Killing a cop if he was in a gang then he might live but knowing he was a fed, it was as good as giving him a target on his back though he was sure a few of them might want that.
Thomas thought about it, who could he call? Sharon, well it wasn’t like she would be able to do much and with everything that was going on it was one of her cop family that had been killed. They already had enough in the way of trust issues without adding the ‘is he a murderer card’ to it all. That left one person and it was one call he didnt want to make. “Hank Voight, can you call him and explain what’s going on?” He asked Mattie hoping that Hank was his last option for getting things sorted out.

"Of course we won't put you in with the general population," she reassured him. That would be akin to murder, although she knew that there were some who probably wouldn't hesitate to put him in with true criminals and make it clear that he was FBI. "Come on." They had to move to a holding cell, and she checked to be sure the hallway was clear before Of course, if she was wrong, and he was lying and had really done what he was accused of, she was essentially committing career suicide. Not only would no one want to work with her again, but they would make life for her here miserable, if not dangerous. “Hank Voight, can you call him and explain what’s going on?”"Yeah, all right." Not that she knew much about what was going on, but she had cast her trust with the agent, so she may as well go all-in. But first he needed to be secured, as hard as it was for a cop to be behind bars, but she'd stay here with him. "Sorry," she murmured as she closed him in the small cell then used her personal cell to call Voight... Thomas Voight, Henry 'Hank' Voight

Thomas was thankful to her for saying she wouldnt put him in general population, one step at a time he thought and it was safer to be out of there than in there. A suspected cop killer might get him credit but then once they found out he was a cop then he’d be lucky to last five minutes in there. It surprised him sometimes that criminals still had a code of sorts. Thomas followed her glad that there didnt seem to be many people around, “Thanks for this, you’re a good cop.” He said though he knew it wasn’t easy for her. Thomas knew what would happen if he wasn’t found innocent, it wasn’t just his career it was hers too and the fact of the matter was she wouldnt be thanked for helping him. The last thing he wanted was for her to have to deal with a blue wall of silence and to be an outcast among any cop family. He’d essentially seen it happen to good people and there was nothing worse though he was the type that would openly go sit with them when no one else would just to show that things were alright with some of them. Thomas backed away from the bars as he took a seat in the cell. “Doing your job, I get it.” He said trying to smile though looking from the wrong side of the bars it was tough to do. “You know I see a lot of why people complain about it, its no fun on this side.” He joked taking a breath to try and think of what was happening. ------------
Hank had just finished with Sharon, Braden and Javan. He was going to try and fix the storm that had erupted by way of the feds being arrested. Hank was in two minds about it, Thomas was his daughters boyfriend and there were times when he wanted nothing more than to see the guy jailed for something. There were days when he had even considered framing him for murder because the background check he had done on the guy was nothing but okay. A few sketchy things here and there but on the most part every cop had those less than black and white calls so really who was he to throw the first stone. Hank picked up his phone when he heard it ring. Just what he needed a call right in the middle of thing storm. “Hank Voight here.” He said trying to be as polite as possible given he had no idea who was calling him and if it was the chief then he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t about to mouth off at someone before he knew who it was.

“You know I see a lot of why people complain about it, its no fun on this side.”"Well, I have to admit, the bars just aren't you." She managed a small smile at Thomas before turning her attention to the man on the phone. “Hank Voight here.”"Um, hi, Detective Voight...this is Officer Chappel with the K-9 division." He wouldn't know her from Adam, and she just hoped that she'd have some sort of credibility. "I'm here with FBI agent Thomas Jackson...Oh, 'here' is the precinct jail...he was arrested for the murder of the CPD officer, he wants you here. Will you talk to him?" No reason to not just give Thomas the phone and let him plead his own case. Thomas Voight
