It was a headache waiting to happen. And it happened. Thomas had been arrested, seriously? This had to be some kind of joke he thought, funny yeah the CPD did have a great sense of humour when it came to the FBI so was this payback for stepping on toes? Was this Hank? No surely the man wasn’t that crazy as he realised that sounded insane. What was it with these cops, being undercover was tough enough without getting arrested but this was when he was legitimately himself. Thomas Jackson, FBI he didnt get arrested he did the arresting.
The worst part was he was stood with his hands on the top of a vehicle waiting for the cuffs to be placed on him. Thomas tried to look around for Howard, lord knew what they were doing to his partner though before he could take a second look he heard the order for eyes to the front. Yeah, he knew the drill he just didnt like the CPD version of it as he muttered under his breath. He wanted to scream at them for what they were doing but that never went well, he was FBI he was on their side not a murder suspect. Honestly, their intel people needed to be checked out better because this was a disaster as he stood there. His hands firmly placed on the roof of the car and his eyes facing forward though he did try to look around for Howard to see how he was getting on. Did he start right now with the argument 'I swear I didnt do it officer' because that one always worked well.

Howard Bennett wasn't impressed was an understatement of the lifetime. It didn't take much to get on his worse side. He had just set the glass down when two officers busted in "What can I...." he began, only to find his face being slammed on the counter. Wincing, he tired not the squirm. What the hell was going on around here? Knew asking about it was out out question. He felt a hand wiggle into his back pocket to take out his wallet. " Howard Bennett?" One of the guys who was aiming the gun asked. " Uh huh," was all he could get out. As the tables had turned on him from arresting to getting arrest, he didn't like it. He almost frowned when he realised that cops had no idea just who they were arresting. Well jolly fun. " You are under arrest...." Howard tuned out the rest as he knew most of it by heart. Handcuffed and arrested, they lead him out. As he got closer to the main doors he could see the lights flashing and heard the sirens. They were taking the FBI Agent out of the FBI building, how fraked up was that. Seeing Thomas he shook his head. Both were done for. Stopping in front of the Unit car, he was guided to the back seat, once inside the door was closed behind him. There was going to be a field day with the headlines. He could see it. The whole thing send him back to his first point. The FBI Agent was not impressed. Thomas Voight ((If it needs editing, let me know.))

Normally James would have had great fun arresting someone from the FBI, he'd be full of the usual comments - however, it wasn't called for right now - he'd heard some words and not normally one for gossip James' mind was full of the wonderful 'thoughts' he called concerns, assumptions, curiosity... Yeah no, he'd go for just doing his job.
Though he hadn't expected to be asked, well it had been a while - he figured maybe it was cause of his experience he'd been asked to 'attend and assist' he watched as the FBI agents were marched out of the building and shook his head, at least they'd come quietly.
He'd been outside waiting, more to just observe - there were enough officers going in they didn't need more - plus, he wasn't too keen on going inside and loosing his head if anything were to go awry.
He watched Howard be placed inside the squad car and approached "I'll meet you at booking" he said before heading over to the squad car and sliding in beside the FBI agent inside - well, that was probably a good idea just in case.
-
When they arrived at booking James led Howard inside and towards the desk "One FBI agent for our holding" he announced, disbelief in his tone as he frisked Howard and removed his belongings.

Mattie shifted uncomfortably, glancing occasionally at Marty as they stood on the fringes, just two of many officers brought in to stand-by, since the men being arrested were FBI agents, and therefore considered a higher risk, and to a degree, that was true. Without sufficient back-up, an agent might think he could take on the arresting officers and escape. But then, they were cops, too, and knew that resisting didn't really gain you anything. "So, who do you think they supposedly murdered?" she whispered to her partner, watching the arrest, wincing when the FBI agent was told to keep his eyes forward. Where the hell was professional courtesy? And besides, what cop was stupid enough to rough-up another cop...that only led to lawsuits and court dates, and who needed that? So, it seemed like everything was in hand, one agent already being taken to the station and the other being detained, it was just a matter of time before they were all released... "Hey! Chappel, Enfield!" Mattie looked toward the Sargent that was shouting at them and nodded. "Take this guy to the station and get him booked!" "Yes, sir." Again, she glanced at Marty and shrugged. At least they'd come in a regular cruiser because she didn't have Koda with her. Going over to Thomas, she muttered, "Sorry..." as she opened the back door to the patrol car. She hated having to do this, but it was what it was. @marty Thomas Voight,

"So, who do you think they supposedly murdered?" she whispered to her partner "I have no idea," he responded in kind as he frisked Jackson. Out of the agent's back pocket he pulled out his wallet with his badge and ID along with some keys and a gum wrapper. When he finished he handcuffed the agent's wrist and placed him into the back seat, making sure he didn't hit his head. "I'll drive," he told Mattie as he gathered Thomas' belongings and waited for Mattie to get into the frontseat before he hopped behind the driver's seat then pulled out into traffic heading to CPD. Mattie's question played on his mind as he looked at the agent through his rear view mirror. "I'm really sorry, Agent Jackson. We were told to arrest you. But if I may I'd like to ask you a question. What's this all about?" Thomas Voight , @howard , Mattie Chappel

Thomas saw Howard shake his head, really undercover FBI and they were being arrested. This had to be the fail of all fails for the CPD, where was their boss he wondered though really was she going to be thrown to the wolves too with them. As long as their mug shots weren’t plastered on the front page, yeah like that wasn’t going to happen. He’d probably end up shot for that one too as he gave Howard a sympathetic look. “No clue.” He mouthed to his partner before he watched Howard guided into the back seat.
That was something that would stay with him he thought, no this wasn’t right at all. Thomas heard someone call another two cops over, who was it this time he wondered the rough up squad. How many flights of stairs was he about to take a face first flying leap from he wondered until the female cop said sorry as the door to the back of the patrol car was opened. See, that was all he wanted someone who knew it wasn’t right what was happening to him. “Just doing your job officer, it’s all anyone can do. Don’t worry about it.” He answered knowing if the boot was on the other foot then he wouldn’t like arresting a CPD officer either.
The worst part of the ordeal wasn’t the eyes front or the you’re under arrest it was the frisking. Criminals were frisked and yes he had gone under cover as a criminal before but this, this was Thomas the agent not Thomas the unknown criminal. With the handcuffs around his wrists and sat in the pack of the patrol car Thomas wished that this could just be done with. When the male cop asked the question Thomas stared at him, “Haven’t you heard?” He asked before deciding not to be a complete idiot. He did have the right to remain silent. No the guy was one of their own so really he had to have a heart.
“Sorry you’re hearing this from a suspect but firstly I didnt do it.” He said before he showed a lot more sympathy in his face and tone. “A CPD officer was killed and I’m truly sorry for your loss.” He said lowering his eyes to the floor. So now he could expect to get three rounds kicked out of him he thought as he stared out of the window. He could just imagine the greeting at CPD too, this was a nightmare of nightmares.

"Of course not," Mattie muttered dryly, and part of her really wanted to believe that, that was why she was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt...'Innocent until proven...' Still, if it turned out he was guilty, both she and Marty were going to take hell, likely enough to be badgered off the force. But, if he really was innocent... "They're not telling us anything," she added, shrugging, "but we'll do what we can..." She trailed off as they pulled up to the precinct house...there were a couple of news vans, their satellite dishes raised as eager reporters surged forward, tethered by their microphones. Swirling around were dozens of people, mostly civilians, some cops, shouting, some in support but most in protest. "Dammit...down..." She looked back at Thomas, encouraging him to duck, not that she thought he couldn't figure that out for himself, and when Marty stopped the car she got out and opened the back door, tossing her jacket over Thomas' head...this was stupid, she thought, to have to hide him from the immaturity that some supposed adults could display. @marty, Thomas Voight

Marty was nodding as Mattie spoke to Jackson and he was ready to add his agreement when she stopped in mid-sentence. "Ahhh, crap!" he let loose the expletive when he saw all the various news stations parked outside the House entrance. Mattie was already trying to protect Jackson from the hungry sharks with cameras and microphones. These people could be merciless. After stopping he also jumped out of the car and ran around to the passenger side where Mattie already had her jacket slung over Thomas' head to keep him from being seen, as though they didn't already know who it was. With Jackson between them Marty used his height and weight to move through the throng of reporters with Mattie as they shouted questions and pushed forward. "Let us through, please!" he demanded. "Move out of the way! Let us through!" he ordered doing his best to protect their prisoner. Thomas Voight, @howard, @james, Mattie Chappel, Any

Thomas rolled his eyes as he knew how it sounded, yeah not like every guilty suspect pleaded their innocence and if the shoe was on the other foot then sure it could be a little suspect to hear an ‘I didnt do it’. “Thanks.” He replied before he saw the chaos at the precinct house. News vans, dishes and reporters all of his least favourite people all in one place for the perp walk, the kind of thing that would blow his undercover ID straight out the water. Great, just great he thought trying to sink down into the back of the car.
How many years work down the drain in one go, he thought cursing under his breath as he was grateful for the jacket over his head. The noise was unbearable as he tried to bite his lip and say nothing, the whole right to remain silent thing was a good idea until it made him look twice as guilty with a room full of cops that wasn’t the best idea. Thomas tried to keep himself close to either cop as the precinct suddenly felt as if it was ten miles away.
“I’d take a back door or trap door right about now.” He muttered to both of them wishing that his cover hadn’t just been blown. Reporters and camera’s could be handled but not when they had got what they came for. He could had switched out with another Fed, one who wasn’t an undercover officer and if Howard had gotten the same thing the entire operation was gone. The house, the job, everything he thought as he tried to hide his worry over that.
His boss would kill him unless Hank Voight got there first he thought, what would this do to Sharon too and after all it wasn’t as if trust came easily to either of them. ‘Honey, guess what, this is my job and just sorry about reading on the front page tomorrow’. Life just got better and better as he felt like two worlds has completely smashed together entirely for the worst possible outcome imaginable. “Innocent until proven guilty.” He muttered deciding it was better to cling to those words than mention he didnt do it again.

God, she hated this kind of thing, trying to protect a suspect when the vultures were circling, trying to get a picture for the big scoop, especially when there was a cop involved. At least they'd managed to conceal Jackson's face before anyone got a picture of him, at least she thought, and now it was a matter of getting him inside without any mishap. Keeping close to the man, with Marty on his other side, they shuffled him into the building, and Mattie kept her own face turned away from the cameras, not wanting to be caught on camera any more than Jackson. Once inside, she figured they were home-free -- the reporters wouldn't be allowed in -- but she was wrong. It wasn't reporters, but a civilian, a woman, who accosted them. "You did it, you son of a bitch!" Before anyone could stop her, she ran at them. "You killed my brother and you're going to pay!" Funny, none of the other cops seemed to be in a hurry to stop her. @marty , Thomas Voight

This was an unexpected, out of the blue attack AND it was inside the Precinct. An unknown woman charged at Jackson. When it happened Marty's training kick in. His main purpose was to protect their prisoner and he did just that. Not knowing if the woman was armed or not he told Mattie, "Get him inside!" he told her and meaning inside the booking area. Only certain people were allowed inside. Then stepping forward he used his large frame to block her and keep her from doing any of them any harm. "Ma'am, you need to back away. Now!" he barked at her but then the unexpected happened. How she got the knife inside past the metal detectors was beyond him but the swipe of the knife that was meant for Jackson instead caught Marty by his right lower arm. Crying out in pain as his blood squirted out then with a shout of pain mixed with fury, he grabbed her wrist and twisted it until the steak knife clattered on the tiled floor. It was then other cops charged forward to help him. His opposite hand slapped over his sliced flesh. @howard, Thomas Voight, @james, Mattie Chappel, Any

"Marty!" Mattie growled, starting to move toward him, but then shifting back to block Thomas as other officers moved in to help. As much as she was worried about him, her responsibility right now was the 'prisoner', the man in cuffs who was helpless at this point. "This way," she snapped, nudging him toward the processing room, closing the door behind them once they were inside. For a moment she just stood there, waiting to catch her breath, hoping that Marty was all right. Sure, this sort of thing happened from time to time, but it was uncommon enough that it had rattled her. Finally, she let out a breath and asked, "Are you all right?" She wasn't sure she cared, not when her partner had been injured protecting him, if he was really a cop-killer, but she didn't want to believe that. Thomas Voight

Thomas struggled to do much considering he was under arrest, he if resisted or tried anything he wasn’t entirely sure he would be alive though soon enough he didnt have to think about that. Just the cop that stepped up for him. Thomas could hear the words barked and yelled before he saw the blade. “Stop her.” He called looking toward the other cops, he would have tried to help but the cuffs restraining him did their job as he saw the mess the knife had made. Didn’t they have metal detectors there he thought though shooting his mouth off about it in the mean time wasn’t going to help anyone as he watched Mattie. Thomas went toward where he was nudged as the door was closed. Thomas had spent enough time under cover to expect the unexpected but he had always seen the precincts and police building as sacred. No bad things happened there, he could relax and not keep one eye in the back of his head but this time that had shaken him. “Yeah I’m okay.” He said as he motioned to the door, “It’s your partner I’m worried about.” He stated before he looked over to her, he knew she was doing her job but you trusted your partner no matter what happened and hers had been injured. “Are you okay?” He asked genuinely concerned about her, he didnt know anything about the woman, was she as a seasoned cop, fresh off the academy beat or just a year or two in. He simply wanted to make sure she was alright. Tag: Mattie Chappel

"Fine, I'm fine," Mattie snapped, glaring at the man, her initial instinct to blame him for all of this, and her concern for Marty dictating her mood. But she was professional, and she managed to bite back her emotion as she let out a breath. "Yes, thank you." This was softer, accompanied by a nod as she moved behind him to remove his cuffs. "Just...tell me you didn't do what they say." Not that she was an astute profiler, but she was fairly certain she could tell if he was lying, and she needed to have that reassurance -- or not -- before she decided to continue to actively protect him or just throw him to the wolves. Thomas winced slightly when Mattie snapped, yes it was his fault but then he couldnt control a crowd or what people chose to do. All he knew was that he didnt do what he was being accused off, then again it was a cop so really his word against a rumour. It wasn’t exactly going to be easy to convince the blue brigade that he was innocent. When she spoke in a softer tone and he saw her nod he was grateful the minute she removed his cuffs. He didnt make any rash movements as he simply brought his hands out in front of him and rubbed his wrists slightly. “No I swear to you I didnt do it. A fellow cop, no way. I know us Feds and CPD dont always see eye to eye but at the end of the day a cops family is family to anyone of us.” He stated meaning every word he had spoken. She obviously needed to know he didnt do it and he hadn’t done but then maybe saying it would make it easier for her to see. He had no proof yet and he knew he couldnt work the case but then hopefully the others knew and could set about doing something to fix it. “Are you sure you’re okay?” He asked her again just wanting to be absolutely sure, he wasn’t the monster people thought and despite the criminals he played he did have a heart there.
