Inbar knew she had a tough road ahead of her. Though she had come this far. There was no such thing as cannot in her vocabulary. Tossing her bag at her desk, she was still trying to figure out how she had convinced Quantico to let her take a position here in Chicago with the new group. Though she was much more her pace. Ina did not like sitting still at all. Her last few years had been spent wasting away behind paperwork trying to prove herself that she was more useful than a paper pusher.
She was finishing her breakfast quick as she started sorting her stuff out. She knew that things were going to be different. The marine shook her head and started filling in her first day paperwork. Honestly... it wasn't like she wasn't already IN the FBI files IN CHICAGO. It was a transfer for crying out loud. Someone was going to die.

Esau had just returned to the FBI HRT squad room that had been set aside for the highly trained unit here in Chicago. If HRT wasn't out in the field, they were training. That was their true office. In many ways, this seemed like a wasted space, but if the American government felt like throwing money at wholly unnecessary expenditures, who was he to stop them? All they really needed were the resources to keep their skills sharp. The thing that had truly given him pause had been the notification from FBI brass about their newest addition: a woman. It was not the type of thing to ordinarily phase him, considering the woman he had married. He knew firsthand just how dangerous Ziva could be. Most everyone here, in the FBI field office, however, would not share that same belief. Inbar would undoubtedly have many eyes scrutinizing every little move she made. The least he could do was let her know she could count him an ally.
Esau made his way over to her desk, where she was scarfing down the remnants of her breakfast. "Your name is Israeli. You have roots there?" His own Israeli accent still peaked through strongly, even after his time spent in the United States. "Do not assume everyone believes you should not be here. I think that it must be an American male thing. Do me a favor? Try not to beat up our team leader too badly. We still need him at the end of the day."

Josh had spent an hour trying to talk his boss around to letting things go back to how they were. Females were a distraction and since when was HRT the guinea pig team for the FBI? One hour later and despite the agreement of others in the room he had left with a ‘this is how it is, make it work’ speech that only made him grumpier given the fact he now had a female on the team. Josh wasn’t against women, just within HRT because the last thing he needed was a distraction for anyone.
Special Forces had no women members so why should they because they did the exact same just on a domestic level. His issue was her keeping up; if they had to run ten miles then he wanted to know she could do that with in the accepted time. Rappel down a building without hysterics, do the job to their level and she would fit right in. Until he knew she was able to do that then she was going to get the short end of his tongue for as long as it took. It was his job to make sure his team was at their best and to make sure that nothing changed that, a woman changed it.
When he came back from the meeting he could see the new female sat at her desk and Esau speaking to her. Great the distractions had started already he thought as he rolled his eyes before making his way to his desk. “Morning.” He muttered deciding that a welcome to the team was a far stretch that morning. “See you’ve met the new kid.” He said glancing to Esau as he motioned toward Inbar. “Where do you think we start with her? How to hold and use a gun?” He suggested as dropped himself behind his desk knowing he was grumpier than his usual self.

When Esau called her out on being Israeli she spoke in Hebrew. His accent was… hard to miss. “Chetziy” Half those were her only words for a moment. “Shmi aba” My father she added. Then she swapped back into English. “My mother was Brazilian” now that they had her heritage out of the way as usual people could maybe stop focusing on the fact she was a woman? Though he seemed to be on her side but defending their team leader also. Well that was just… spectacular.
Inbar was going to say something else when she heard her team leader’s voice. Inbar was offended at the comment. “I come out of MARSOC.” She stood up and got in his face. Inbar was not afraid of this so called team leader but she would stand her ground. She was Marine Special Forces before she had come here. Her resume was nothing like that of any paper. She was calm and eerily so. Mentally checking her team leader off under the type of people she despised most. People who thought women could not keep up.
One thing Ina was , was judgmental and her team leader’s first impression was very judgmental. “Babaca” jerk (to put it nicely) she cursed in Portuguese. Oh sure she was born and raised her in America, but her cultural background lent itself to being very close to her parents heritage. Ina could not only keep up with the men but she could probably put most of HRT six feet under in the ground. Well she had kind of proved that at Quantico when trying to prove she was as fit for the job as men and a few men at HRT Quantico had been much slower than her, and much less efficient. Though Ina was no fool, she knew that she had learning to do; but she also would stand for this kind of crap. Her glance went back to Esau, could he really chew all that he had just bitten off.

Esau chuckled. Of course Josh was still caught on the fact his newest recruit was a woman. He fit into the American male pattern of thought, but he had another thing coming if he thought a woman couldn't handle this. "I should introduce you to my wife, Ziva. She can handle everything you can... with one hand tied behind her back," he told Josh. If Inbar was even half as good as Ziva, Esau felt more than comfortable with her watching his back. Given her MARSOC training, he certainly didn't doubt her for a second. Not unless she gave him reason to. If Inbar's curse was any indication, Josh would be getting it soon enough. Maybe Esau would give her that chance. "How about close quarters combat? You should see what she is capable of firsthand," he suggested, making the switch over to Hebrew. ".אני לוקח בחזרה את מה שאמרתי. שים אותו על התחת שלו. מגיע לו" It translated to: I take back what I said. Put him on his ass. He deserves it. Esau winked at Inbar. That was the appropriate American thing do, yes?
No need to make Josh overly suspicious, and he converted back to English with ease. "But forgive me. Where are my manners? Esau Sokolov, Yamam liaison to the team. Our leader is Josh Cameron."

Josh simply glanced at Inbar, she was a marine, well that just about explained everything he thought when she stood up and got in his face. For a first day this was going so well, by the end of it he wasn’t entirely sure who was going to come out of it alive and that was just speaking for the team. “MARSOC explains it all.” He stated, he was a US Army Green Beret. The rivalry was always there, army, navy and air force and if the coast guard were involved then it was all out war. He simply had no idea of what she could do and the fact that she was in his team, yes if it was some equality thing and she had no skill set to be there then people would get hurt.
When Esau spoke Josh raised his brow, “Oh really, sounds like I should meet her some time.” Josh said with a smile, women could be dangerous he was well aware of that. He had married one to find that one out but as for Inbar it had to be seen to be believed. Josh was a firm believer in working hard but with the way this had happened Josh had his doubts about what kind of work had taken place to put Inbar on the team. Flutter of the eyes or was she just that good? He had no idea but if it was the first option then he would do his best to drop kick her out faster than she could get in his face again.
The word Inbar spoke Josh had no clue what it meant, he spoke some Hebrew and Arabic. It was just enough to get by, a help me and i’m friendly kind of conversation anything more than that and he was clueless. Josh didnt back down or step away, if Inbar wanted to play in the big leagues then she was welcome to but if she thought special treatment was on the table then she was wrong. Josh glanced toward Esau when he mentioned close quarters combat. “Sure why not, if you feel up to it Agent Lavi?” He asked with a grin, it would either prove a point or make him trust her a little more than he did that moment.
At the spoken Hebrew Josh had no idea what was being said so he was glad when Esau swapped back to English. “Pleasure to meet you Agent Lavi.” He said as he held out his hand toward her, pleasantries were a given and one of five rules he had learned as a teenager. Always be courteous where possible and he was at least making an attempt to be on good terms with the new girl.

James arrived just in time to witness both of his other team members all but gawking over their newest edition of the team, they were not gawking in the sense of eyeing her up and down like a piece of meat, both men just had rather stupid looks on their faces because of the fact that yes. The higher ups had felt it right to assign a female to their (former) boys club. Did he agree with it, not exactly but not because he did not believe she could keep up. He knew from his own sisters that female were very capable of doing things guys did, if not better, so that was not the case. He mostly did not agree with it because of how everyone else would react. "Sir, you did read her file...correct?" James ask as he moved past the small group of people towards his desk, "Don't act like she came here entirely clueless on everything." he added setting his bag and coffee cup down only to pick it up again to take a sip and then place it back down again. Looking up to his desk he glanced to Inbar, he knew what it was like being the new person on the team, thankfully joining a team on the FBI three years ago was much smoother than being the Rookie on a Seal team. He quickly moved around his desk and approached the woman, "Please forgive my manners, and let me introduce myself before these two start in with whatever. James Harris, team member and lead negotiator if the situation calls for it. Welcome to the team." he said as he held out his hand to her. TAG: @inbar, Esau Sokolov, Josh Cameron,

"בְּחֵפֶץ לֵב"1 Hearing Hebrew she perked up. It wasn't that she heard it much anymore. It was true that Ina would gladly put her boss on the ground, if so given the chance. Even if it was just to prove her point, that she could run with the boys. Inbar grabbed him under his arm with an attempt to shift his weight backwards. Her leg came up so she could put her boot to his throat the moment he hit the ground, though not pressing to hurt him but the implication that she could was there. The stare she gave to him as he introduced himself was amusing.
She removed her foot and let their team leader up. “I have things to learn. Everyone of us do, but do NOT underestimate me.” The half Israeli moved away and extended her hand to Esau and James. “It’s Ina or Lavi” she preferred it to her given name. Now that the guys had their fun and she had hopefully put them in their place. The woman went back to what she was doing in her desk.
Though eyes traveled to the mail person who was coming by. “Esau has mail it seems. Except who uses VHS anymore?” her English was accented. Ina was suspicious of it, then again she was suspicious of everything these days. Though honestly... everything was computerized, unless it was old security or footage? It wasn't her place.

[attr="class","esaunah"] [attr="class","esauleft"] [attr="class","esauleft2"] | [attr="class","esauright"] Esau was sporting a look that said I saw this result coming a mile away, as Inbar put Josh on the ground. This is why you didn't underestimate Israeli women—a lesson their fearless leader was no doubt realizing. If Esau hadn't been one hundred percent convinced before, he was now: she was someone he wouldn't mind watching his back. He shook his hand when she formally introduced herself. "Welcome to the team, Lavi."When Inbar pointed out he had mail, Esau grabbed the tape, choosing to borrow the team's briefing room to view his personal correspondence instead of staying in the squad room for everyone to see and hear. He popped the tape into the player and sat down, his back to the wall. Esau began to watch the video, but unless you could understand fluent Arabic, you never would have realized something was wrong by observing him. The expression on his face was impassive. Unreadable. He'd been the one to teach Ziva how to suppress her emotions. And, considering what had been recorded, he couldn't afford to let his emotions get the best of him. His wife sat tied to a chair—and she appeared bruised, battered, and beaten. A man, speaking in Arabic, ordered her to start speaking, if she wanted Josiah to live. Esau couldn't focus on that right now. He needed clues, like the message Ziva would be trying to tell him. Due to the nature of their work, he and Ziva had developed their own unspoken communication in the event of this circumstance. He grabbed a sheet of paper and a pen and started writing. He came to a screeching halt when a man's hand wrapped around Ziva's throat, as he threatened to break her neck, if she didn't stop moving her eyes and keep them fixed firmly forward on the camcorder. Esau stuffed the paper into a pocket for safe keeping. He'd gotten enough information. Everything seemed designed to get under his skin. Hamas had captured his wife, threatened the life of his son, and then sent him the tape to taunt him. He came out of the briefing room, cursing in Hebrew, and went straight for his desk. Esau reached into the top drawer for his holstered sidearm. Unlike the American agents, he maintained his standard, the Israeli-made Jericho 941. He couldn't rely on HRT—not now. The team needed to be called in before they could officially take action. That was time Ziva simply did not have if Hamas was involved. He was going to have to go this alone. It also meant he wouldn't be bringing his other equipment. Walking out the door with anything less would be... suspicious. "I need to run. It is my younger sister, Efrat. She is visiting from Israel and being harassed," he lied to the team. The benefit to being former Duvdevan, he could believably sell that lie. They were trained to infiltrate—and infiltration meant deception. @inbar , Josh Cameron , @jimmy [attr="class","esauright2"] |

Josh gave James a look when he came in and spoke, clueless was exactly what he was thinking of the woman. Maybe she had winked at the right guy with paperwork or worse it was an experiment, the one thing that Josh trusted above else was that the team worked well together. Females were a distraction and one he didnt want especially when it came to the job they did. Focus was everything and a woman in the line of fire never sat right with him no matter what a sheet of paper said she did or didnt do.
‘Welcome to the team’, yeah if he had anything to do with it he could see himself writing a report to get her transferred to something more her speed he thought, HRT wasn’t the place or time to start messing around with a tried and tested formula of agents that worked well together. Literally in his head she was the ‘spanner’ in the works and that meant deadly repercussions. Josh couldnt stop it the moment he was grabbed under the arm it was all he could do to land without injuring himself, yeah a woman with an axe to grind, even better for a team he thought.
He knew he’d been proved wrong when her boot was on his throat as he just glared at her. “I dont underestimate you anymore, but I wasn’t fighting back. Lucky try.” He said with a grin, not that he had much chance to which was great because at least he knew she was dangerous when she needed to be. She had also challenged him so that in itself showed guts even though he wanted to throw her to the floor just to prove a point. Well at least now he knew what kind of woman the team had which went in her favour.
Josh pushed himself up from the floor stretching a little as he did so as he listened to the three get introduced. Josh sat himself at his desk though his ears perked up at the mention of VHS, it had been a long time since he had seen much of those tapes. Sure old footage but most of that was digitised now, there was an entire unit for that kind of thing. Forensic stuff that could sharpen the images, make them easier and obviously get rid of the need for a video player.
He watched Esau leave to use the briefing room, it wasn’t unusual as he wouldnt want an entire team of people looking through personal things. He was the private sort, the kind that kept himself to himself until people broken that barrier with him. The one thing Josh had learned was that Israeli’s were difficult to read if at all, he struggled on his best days and even then he was usually way off but looking as Esau there was a lack of anything that he could make any emotion of.
When Esau came out Josh looked over to him, holstered sidearm. It wasn’t unusual as even going for coffee when on duty required a gun on your hip no matter what, only inside the building were the weapons stored away in lock boxes and desk draws. At the mention of his sister being harassed Josh rolled his eyes, officially they couldnt touch it with a barge pole but unofficially for family and a fellow team member the rules could be bent slightly. “Esau.” He said as he stood up, pulled his own gun from his desk draw and grabbed his jacket.
Something was off, the words sister and harassed coupled with a gun was bad news. Not that Josh didnt trust the guy but when it came to family, he knew what he would do for his own or even his team. “Think we could all use some fresh air, maybe a coffee and if we come to find a person being harassed on the way then it’d be our sworn duty as federal agents to intervene right?” Josh offered looking to Ina and James before he looked back to Esau, well a badge and a gun had to do some use with harassment.

James did not move as Ina grabbed Josh and quickly took him to the floor as if the move was nothing, “I have things to learn. Everyone of us do, but do NOT underestimate me.” Josh seemed far from amused at her actions but he also seemed to respect the fact that the woman (seemed to be able) to hold her own in a fight if need be. So that took care of one issue. “I don't underestimate you anymore, but I wasn’t fighting back. Lucky try.” James tried not to laugh at the mans response, "Now that that has been settled, can we move onto the next topic for today. Maybe something that doesn't have us sparring in the middle of the office?" he asked, walking back to his desk he sat down and started checking his email. Esau got up to go see what the VHS was all about, James agreed with Ina, who still used those hunks of plastic anymore? His kids..his youngest sisters hardly even knew what the things where, and his kids would never know what they were. It was when Esau emerged from the briefing room and Josh spoke that James finally looked up from his computer screen, “Think we could all use some fresh air, maybe a coffee and if we come to find a person being harassed on the way then it’d be our sworn duty as federal agents to intervene right?” his eyes went from Josh, to Esau for several moments and then back to Josh. Something was wrong, even though James could not read Esau like an open book, there were still several small things that just about everyone did when under stress, some handled them better than others. "When did your sister get in town?" James asked as he stood up, "Coffee sounds good, mine is getting cold." he lied, his coffee was still very hot, he could not tell if Esau was being serious or not, but something was wrong and sometimes there was nothing wrong with trading one lie for another. James' response was ill received by Ina when he said they should be doing something besides sparring in the office. "Would you like to join him on the ground? I can arrange it" she stated hotly. She was about to say something in response to both men when Esau went storming out.
Inbar caught up with the others and just lurked in the background. Poking Esau right now would not be a wise decision but she wasn't going to let him do at this alone. Ina didn't understand what it was like to share a bond like Esau had with Ziva, and perhaps she even envied it to some extent. Though what kind of team mate would she be if she didn't have his back?

[attr="class","esaunah"] [attr="class","esauleft"] [attr="class","esauleft2"] | [attr="class","esauright"] Unbelievable. Esau had lied, coming up with a story pressing enough for him to leave now, but nothing that would require an HRT unit to step in. He'd failed to take into account that his friends might do so anyways. It didn't change the situation. Esau would do whatever was necessary to protect his wife and son. "I think, Cameron," Esau snapped back, using the man's last name, a sign he was agitated. He didn't have time to debate with them; he needed to put as much distance between himself and this time as soon as he could. The worst the FBI could do to him was ship him back to Israel, and Yamam would probably give him a medal. If Josh and the rest of the team stepped in, the FBI would have their careers. The Americans and their bureaucratic red tape... Esau would protect them, even if they hated him for it. "You should back off before you end up on the ground again. Get in my way and I will leave you there, bleeding and broken."His eyes flicked over to the other tenured member of the team. Doing this to them was hard, but he was long past having options. He quashed any hesitation that had crept into the picture. "The same goes for you. Take a good look, Harris. Tell me. Am I bluffing?"And then there was Inbar, their rookie of only a few minutes, dutifully tagging along. His eyes flicked back in the opposite direction towards her. "Let me be clear. If I wanted your help, I would have asked for it. I'm not that desperate."Storming out of the squad room, Esau nearly put his fist through the wall, as he punched the button to call for the elevator. "Do not follow me."@jimmy , @inbar , Josh Cameron [attr="class","esauright2"] |

Josh grinned towards James, another topic that didnt have them sparring well that was going to be tough when the newbie on the team was asking for a sparring session. “Come on Harris, it’s good fun.” He said with a grin though being thrown to the floor by someone half his size wasn’t exactly the greatest thing in the world but then at least in his own mind it was a lucky try because anything else wasn’t acceptable. Josh chuckled as Ina challenged James until Esau went storming out. It was easy to simply wait and see what was going on, waiting was their game and he had done enough of it over the years. Finding that one person he loved wasn’t something he had managed to do because everyone he opened his heart to; partner or friend seemed to let him down. It didnt stop him doing it but he didnt take it well when they eventually disappeared which usually they did. Was it him, usually he made some out there suggestion that it was or something got in the way but it didnt change was happened usually.
When Esau snapped Josh stood there silently trying not to let it bother him, blank face and no tell he thought though he knew Esau well enough to see his tell of using his last name. Agitated and yet Josh didnt care how agitated the man was all he wanted to do was help. It wasn’t exactly great practice to let an armed Israeli ninja go doing who knew what around Chicago when they were clearly agitated about something that was going on. Josh was finding it tough to tell if it was his sister or something else but either way there was no denying there was a problem there.
Josh stayed silent when Esau explained exactly what would happen to him if he got in his way. Like he hadn’t been told that before though he didnt doubt that Esau could do it, it simply didnt matter to him. If being left bleeding and broken was what it took to make Esau see that it didnt change a thing, then he could take that and yell later. Josh simply said nothing when he did the rounds with James and Inbar, there was mean and then there was just... well whatever he was trying to do if the idea was alienate the team then it was a good way to start.
Watching Esau Josh looked around at James and Inbar, “You don’t have to follow, it’s your choice and I understand it whichever you both want.” He said giving them both the option just in case being hit by Esau wasn’t as appealing as he was making it. Nothing like baiting an angry person and hoping for the best outcome even though it was likely to end badly for him. With that said Josh took off after Esau, “Like hell I won’t.” He snapped back at Esau as he moved closer to him, he wasn’t afraid of being broken by the man simply afraid of what was going on to make the guy act like that.
“Listen up right now, working with this team means something to me and if it doesn’t to you that’s fine. Get over yourself and understand that you’re whole lone wolf thing, doesn’t fly or work here.” Josh snapped with a stone cold glare to match it. “You want to make be bleed and break me then go ahead but don’t expect me not to shoot you or give as good as I get. So I’m with you on whatever is going on, or take your best shot and it doesn’t change a thing.” He said as his hand went to undo the leather clip on his holster just in case he needed to shot something.

"Would you like to join him on the ground? I can arrange it"
James managed to not smile as he looked at Ina, he liked feisty women who could stand their ground, but at the same time he did not want to start his day by ending up on said ground. His attention was quickly drawn to Esau who was very much so fired up, whatever was wrong, it was serious. "The same goes for you. Take a good look, Harris. Tell me. Am I bluffing?" James knew he wasn't, usually when Esau was bluffing, he did not have his emotions written clear across his face and his body language was different "No." James replied, "What is the problem, and how can we help?" he added in an even voice. Esau did not reply and continued storming out of the room.
Josh watched him go before looking back at his other two teammates, “You don’t have to follow, it’s your choice and I understand it whichever you both want.” did Cameron forget that they were a team and that when one of them had a problem, the rest did what they could to solve said problem? Josh then left, James moved to his desk to toss his now luke warm cup of coffee into the trash, grab his gun and lastly grabbing his jacket. "Lavi, grab whatever you think you'll need and lets go." he said as he started towards the elevator, it was time to go find out what the hell was wrong with Esau.
