[attr="class","jenkins"] [attr="class","maraschinocherries"] [attr="class","jscroll"] It was one of those weeks. People shooting at her, she'd JUST been cleared by IA for a shooting that had happened off duty, and now she was in the hospital back at work. Victim was in the hospital and Liv was already not liking the looks of this. The outcry witness was claiming that a cop had raped her sister. Just what Liv wanted more of Lt. Pain in the Ass. She was not looking forward to meeting with the blonde woman AGAIN. Though she was surprised when her husband joined her in the elevator as she jammed the button. Okay maybe after the week she had, Lt. Oxford would have been a better option. Olivia knew why he was there but it was the unspoken elephant in the elevator at the moment. After a moment she turned towards Ed and used his title just to be clear that she was speaking to him professionally and not personally. Liv tried to clarify things so that they didn't mess up things at home. "Captain. SVU is not handing over this case just because IA is bored." The elevator jolted and stopped. Great, something else to add to the list of 'this should not be happening' week she was having. Edwin followed Liv into the elevator as she told him that SVU wasn't handing over the case just because IA was bored. "Hey, the case came to us and we're going to run with it," he told her. Not that I really want to, he thought to himself. He wasn't sure about the cop's guilt and these days, he didn't like poking into thing without more concrete evidence. In his opinion, it made him a better cop. And he couldn't blame his wife for being upset as she had already had one hell of a week. She seriously needs a damn vacation, he thought to himself. Hell, they both did.
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "I'm not trying to jam anyone up. I promise," he told her. And it was true. He just wanted to know what was going on. Hopefully, they could take care of this quickly. He didn't like fighting with Liv and he didn't want it happening during this case.

[attr="class","jscroll"] Olivia glared her eyes at Ed, though her words came next. “So now IA doesn’t trust SVU with in house rape cases? That’s new.” She got out before the elevator lurched her forward. She went tumbling forward unable to hold her balance and before she realized what had happened she felt the hard knock to her head another jolt sending her straight into Ed right about the hipline as this point. There was some bleeding from where she had sliced the skin but nothing major. She groaned as she picked herself up off of Ed, oh her head hurt. But she wasn’t worried about that right now. “You alright?” she mused. It sounded a bit too thought out and a bit slurred. “Ed?” she called his name before laying on his chest. The elevator was spinning a bit. Olivia had no idea what was happening, but she wasn’t about to freak out. That wasn’t her style. Picking her head back up off his chest she started checking over to make sure he wasn’t injured anywhere. Her brain was processing things… a bit slowly. Then again she had just taken a decent knock to the head. The blurry spinning room was enough to make her feel sick in the stomach. All efforts to move were similar to trying to walk on a moving tilt-a-whirl. No it was better to just lay back down. When Olivia stated that Internal Affairs didn't trust SVU to close a rape case, saying that it was new, Ed sighed. "That's not it at all," he promised. Then, the elevator rocked and he went to steady her as she was knocked into him. "You okay?" he asked. Geez. That was fun..not, he thought sarcastically. "And yes, I'm fine," he assured her when she asked if he was all right. Elevator's never done that before. What's going on? he wondered. It was weird.
Noticing that she looked a bit unsteady on her feet, hte man went to help her sit down. "Take it easy. Don't move," he said soothingly. Great. She has a concussion, he thought. Not that he was surprised as she had hit her head pretty hard. "Don't go to sleep. You might have have a concussion," he continued. Hope she doesn't because that's the last thing she needs, he thought to himself, but he had a feeling that she did.

[attr="class","jscroll"] Olivia was seeing two no three of him. She reached for air and slide down next to him. She leaned into his shoulder. "I'm alright" yeah well her version of alright was a far cry from alright. "But tired" she told him. Not much was registering with her. "Noah, make sure someone picks Ed up from school?" First off the names were backwards and Noah wasn't old enough to be in school yet. She could feel the headache starting. Cringing under the pressure she was feeling from smacking her head. "I wanna go home, so I can take a nap" she was delusional and clearly singly focused on whatever was put in front of her. Sleep. She wanted sleep. "Paris. Rockettes. Sleep" now she was simply not making any sense as she was trying to figure out where she was. Ed's eyes flickered as she insisted that she was all right, telling him to pick Ed up from school. "Noah's not in school yet," he reminded her. And she had gotten their names mixed up. Yeah, she was definitely fighting a concussion. Not good. Phone. He needed his phone. Where was his phone? He needed to get her help. He pulled his phone out, scowling when the device indicated that it didn't have a signal. Damn it, he thought to himself. It looked like calling for help was out. At least from his phone. [color="Liv, do you have your phone with you?"[/color] he queried.
His eyes then clouded in concern as she rambled on, saying that she wanted to go home so that she could take a nap, saying the words "Paris", "rockettes", and "sleep". "You can't sleep right now, Liv," he stated. "You need to stay awake." She definitely had an a concussion and though he didn't have a lot of medical experience, he knew that someone who was concussed wasn't supposed to go to sleep. But how was he going to keep that from happening? I could kiss her, he thought to himself. That would keep her awake. No, she wasn't herself and that would be taking advantage. Bad idea. But he had to figure out something fast...

[attr="class","jscroll"] Olivia handed him her phone but wiggled away from Ed as best that she could. Olivia couldn't reach the button from where she was. The red one, she might be a little confused but the red emergency button on the elevator it was staring right at her. She half hazardly tried to whack at the wall with the palm of her hand. Feeling the hold he had on her she realized how familiar it felt. Though not much was processing. "But my husband is expecting me home." She grumbled. She simply couldn't reach the button and now had collapsed back onto Ed's lap. Things were spinning and she felt like throwing up. Olivia tried to pull up on Ed's shoulder. His cologne it was a comfort to her. Though her brain wasn't connecting the dots. "There was a ferret in my car this morning" she mused. "I'm tired because I was chasing it." She chuckled. Okay so she needed an ambulance and soon. 'You've gotten into my bloodstream' Once the call came through to the house, Beth was following her trainer. This was her last day of training. She was out of the door before the PIC. That wasn't unusual though. "Don't you ever slow down?" She heard behind her. "Does it look like it?" she smiled back as she popped into the front seat of the ambulance to drive. It was nice to be able to drive. Then again, it was because the more experienced medic got the back. She was fine until they got there, the fire department already had Olivia and Ed out of the elevator. Beth could tell that the female was the one in distress. She lingered a bit behind. "TUCKER!" the trainer snapped at her. "Yeah um... coming" she grabbed a bag and joined her trainer. Beth could see she hit her head. Beth started asking questions. "What's her name?" she pointed at Liv. Olivia was still conscious but she was half spaced out. Beth wanted to check how responsive he is. They were in the process of already loading as she tried to sort things out. One of the firefighters drove the ambulance as Beth and her trainer got an IV line and started checking Liv over. |

When Olivia said that her husband was expecting her home, he sighed. "I know and I'll do everything that I can to get you back to him," he told her. Just go along. Don't confuse her even more, he thought to himself. They could figure things out later. They just needed to get her checked out.
When she said that she was tired because she had been chasing a ferret that had been in her car, he raised a brow. Okay, it was getting a little more serious now. He just wished that he knew what to do. "And we'll take care of it," he promised. Where's that ambulance? he wondered. He was getting worried and he didn't mind admitting that to himself.
In the ambulance, his eyes then flickered as Annabeth asked what her name was. "Olivia Tucker," he responded and then explained what had happened. Please be okay, Liv, he thought to himself. He wasn't sure how serious the concussion was but he didn't mind admitting that he was worried. At least to himself.

[attr="class","jscroll"] Beth sort of balked at the similarity of last names but certainly Tucker was a common last name right? The guy looked vaguely like the man she’d seen in pictures with her mom from years ago. No she was imagining things but there was no time to sort any of that out. “Olivia, if you can hear me squeeze my hand” she checked Olivia’s eyes and Olivia blinked them closed at the light as a reflex. Beth felt Olivia’s hand grip around hers. She dropped the hand and started talking medical gibberish to her trainer. They were going to have to get her to med to do any type of head scans or anything else. So right now all she could do was keep an eye on her vitals and her responsiveness. Olivia was cranky and tired but hadn’t lost full consciousness yet. Edwin watched as Beth turned to Olivia, telling her to squeeze her hand if she could hear her. Please be okay, Liv, he thought to himself. And no, he didn't mind admitting that he was freaking out. How could he not? his wife was injured, and he had never been good with the idea of his family being hurt. Not that there was anything he could do about it at the moment, but that didn't make him any less attentive. He just hoped that nothing went wrong. Or more wrong than it had at the moment.
He then pushed that thought back. No! What was he thinking? He couldn't panic like that. It wasn't productive. Him freaking out wasn't going to help anything. Yeah, he just had to keep telling himself that. Maybe it would finally get through. Okay deep breaths. He just had to keep calm. Everything was going to be all right. He just had to trust Beth, which he did.

[attr="class","jscroll"] It was when Olivia was awake and fully aware of what was going on around her that Beth was getting off shift. Liv stretched her legs out and was starting to get a little antsy sitting in a hospital bed. But she knew better than to fight with anyone despite being fed up with being here. She was still a bit confused as to what happened. She was about to say something when Beth appeared in the doorway. Beth knew she wasn’t really supposed to be there but her curiosity had gotten the best of her. “Chief, Captain.” She greeted them by title in a professional manner. Liv seemed a bit confused. “I don’t mean to interrupt but can I borrow Captain Tucker for a minute?” She’d done her research on who they were within the department. Olivia nodded towards Ed indicating she would be alright sitting here for a bit though she really wanted to go to sleep; but it wasn’t an option. “I’ll be alright.” She confirmed from where she was sitting. There was so much stuff to still do. Edwin wasn't quite sure how he was going to explain things to Olivia. Not that anything bad had happened, but he knew that she might have some difficulty remembering things due to the concussion. But at least she was in the hospital and okay. He watched as she started to say something but then turned when he heard footsteps. "Hi," he greeted and nodded politely at the Beth's acknowledgment.
At her question to speak to him privately, he looked to Olivia. Don't want to leave her alone, he thought to himself. When she assured him that she'd be all right, he nodded and followed Beth out the door. "What is it?" he asked, his eyes clouding in concern. Something was up, he could feel it. He just didn't know what. And to be honest, he wasn't quite sure how he felt about it.

[attr="class","jscroll"] Olivia watched Beth and Ed at the door and she saw the younger girl take out a piece of paper and hand it to Ed. Olivia was doing her best to listen to the conversation without it being noticeable. She watched the paramedic react to Ed’s question with a lot of apprehension. “Captain. I um… these were in my mom’s things when she left.” She handed him her birth certificate and a picture of the man she was standing in front her. “She’s lied to me most of my life.. So I understand if this is all a mistake.” Liv could only watch as the girl turned and walked away, she really didn’t have the confidence enough to stand and face Ed. What if he was angry and took it out on her? Beth was hurting and Olivia could see it. Olivia wanted to get up and help. It was in her nature but the last thing she needed was Ed onto her for being out of the hospital bed. “Beth” Olivia called loud enough to be heard but not loud enough to yell, she hoped it was the right name, she remembered seeing a name badge. The call was enough to turn the girl’s head. Except Beth was frozen in place. Ed's eyes clouded with some confusion as Beth walked up to him, handing him a piece of paper and a picture, saying that they had been in her mother's things when she had left and that she had been lied to her entire life and that she understood if she was making a mistake. What? he thought in confusion. What was she talking about? He glanced at the paper and his eyes widened. Was he seeing this right? He looked back to the paramedic who was leaving. "Wait," he called. I can't believe this, he thought to himself. How could he have not known? Had he really been so obsessed with his work that his ex would keep this from him? I really screwed up, he thought to himself. How was he going to make this up to her? Did she want him to? Was she reaching out to him or he was he misreading things? He just wasn't sure. This was all new to him.
The man barely heard Olivia calling the other woman as his breath caught in his throat. He couldn't believe this was was happening. He had gotten so caught up in his work that he had missed out on knowing his daughter. If he hadn't been so obsessed with taking down SVU, he probably would've been told about this. But he hadn't been and he had a feeling he knew why. But she was here now, so what was he supposed to do? He just didn't know what to do. Now that she was in his life again, he didn't want to lose another moment with her. But at the same time, he knew he couldn't smother her. He just had to figure out what to do. Yeah, that was going to be easier said than done. But hopefully, they would be able to figure something out so that they could get to know one another.
