"You didn't hurt me, no," Kelle assured him with a grin, then she leaned to get closer to him, rolling onto her hip so she could face him. "And since you will follow me if I run, then how about we just...don't?" Shrugging, she kissed him gently on the nose. "I don't run, you don't have to chase me...you can just say you caught me and we can call it good?" That was it...she was willing to set aside their awkward meeting, willing to look past his 'profession' and figure this whole thing out...somehow. "Of course, this probably isn't the best place to discuss this, but then, that's my fault for tripping you up..." Hmm...did that have a double meaning? She hoped not, none of this had been planned or orchestrated, and that was what made her confident that there might actually be something real. "Or am I crazy?" Scott Cooper,

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle Scott was relieved to hear that he hadn’t hurt her, the last thing he wanted was to do that to her. Smiling as she faced him Scott nodded to her, “You know what, that sounds like a pretty good idea to me.” He added grinning as she kissed him on the nose. “Yeah I mean the whole chasing thing if fun but i’d prefer to have just caught you already and on the plus side I know where you live so if I did lose you here, I can at least find you again.” Scott said smiling as he realised how that might sound given his admission.
“I mean if you wanted me to but I can also forget information too.” Scott added trying to work out if that was a really creepy thing to say or not. The general statement of ‘I know where you live’ could have been a better line if she didnt know what he did for work. Honestly why couldnt he just keep quiet when he needed to? There was a reason he had kept away from the dating thing, he was really bad at it.
“Yeah very true, I blame you for all of it really.” Scott said with a laugh, “Unless of course you waited that night knowing I’d be looking for someone to help me out. It was all just your master plan to make me think I’d found you by chance?” Scott added grinning as he smiled. “Not crazy at all but you know it’s not like I can re-kidnap you so when better to talk about it.” He teased though again he wasnt all too sure that was a good idea to joke about it.

"Oh, now the secret is up!" Kelle laughed. "Yeah, I had the sense that some guy was going to come by that night and need a hot-chick-medic! I just didn't think I was going to get my own personal stalker." Yeah, it was a jab, but they had to make light of it. "You can come by my house any time, just know that you'll be licked to death by dogs and cats." She sighed and took his hands in hers, looking into his eyes. "This was all strange, yes, but more than once you've showed me the kind of man you are, and despite the...initial incident, I think you're a good man." Reaching up, she cupped his cheek, her fingers playing over the stubble. "I know you'd never do anything to hurt me, and I know you'll be good to me. So....if you want to, I'm in this all the way...just be warned, I've never had a serious relationship, so I'm kind of a rookie where this all is concerned." Honestly, for her part, she had no real idea how to proceed, but she knew he would lead the way, and she also knew enough to realize that his guidance would sever more than showing her the way. For now, though, she was pretty sure she couldn't go wrong with a kiss, so she leaned forward and did just that! Kelle Lindsay, EMTP,

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle “Stalker huh, well if you knew that much then why didn’t you say so.” Scott said grinning at her, he didnt exactly want to turn out o be her stalker and he could have gone about things in a better way. That wasnt even really a thing but still. “Well at least now you know I like you, I mean if you didn’t before you do now, so getting your attention that night worked. I mean i’d prefer the easier options of a date and burger but you just had to make me kidnap you.” Scott said with a sigh smiling at you.
“ I think I can cope with that.” He said when she mentioned going by her house. Scott squeezed her hand lightly, he still couldnt believe that he was there with her. That things hadn’t taken that turn for the worst he was expecting at every single moment. It wasnt that he wanted it to go wrong but when you kidnapped someone, met them again in a hail of bullets then pretended to be someone else. It sort of happened that way.
“I want to be the kind of man you think I am, I really do.” Scott said knowing that it wasnt going to be an over night change, no he still had a job to do once they got back to Chicago and it wasnt like it would change unless Michael got something done. “I would love to see where this goes and same for you too, I haven’t really done serious relationships... or really relationships at all to be honest. It’s a new concept for me too.” He admitted not really sure what to do with one of them to start with.
Scott had always shied away from it, it wasnt that he didnt want to it was safer that he didnt. Then his family had been killed and things just spiralled from there. Scott kissed Kelle back enjoying doing it as he was there with her. He could have done that all day to be honest and been entirely happy. His hand played with the ends of her hair for a moment before he brushed his fingers over her cheek gently.

“Well at least now you know I like you, I mean if you didn’t before you do now, so getting your attention that night worked. I mean I’d prefer the easier options of a date and burger but you just had to make me kidnap you.”"I have that effect on people," she chuckled, although it really was interesting how fate had put her in that place at that time, and again at the ball, where she had learned the true nature of the man. And how cruel of fate to be playing this moral dilemma on her. But she had made her decision, and she was settled with going forward with it. “I want to be the kind of man you think I am, I really do.”"I know that." Smiling softly, she returned the squeeze to his hand. She was fully aware that he might not 'change', it wasn't really reasonable to expect someone to turn around what they had been all their lives, and what was in their character. But she knew, too, that his character was good, and except for his 'occupation' she was good with that. Besides, she knew that pushing him to completely alter what he was would be a big mistake. “I would love to see where this goes and same for you too, I haven’t really done serious relationships... or really relationships at all to be honest. It’s a new concept for me too.”"Oh, so we can learn together," she commented with a grin, "or just make our own rules, that way we don't have to fit a mold, we can make the mold fit us." Certainly a good thought, considering how skewed this all was to start with. Sighing, she pressed her cheek into his hand then scooted over to get closer to him, leaning against his chest. People were looking at them oddly as they sat in the dirt, but she didn't care, and the fact that he didn't seem to be all freaked out about appearances only added to his favor. "So, we just don't be serious, problem solved!" Giggling a little, she poked him in the ribs, then shrugged. "Better not to have any expectations, right? Just keep it all 'seat of the pants', take it as it comes. But heck, look how good it's gone so far, right? What can go wrong?" There was a loaded question!Scott Cooper

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle “So I’m not even original now with kidnapping wow I really need to rethink my life strategy.” He joked grinning at Kelle. He hadn’t really wanted to kidnap people, it just happened that the one person he had wanted to didn’t want to cooperate and make things simple. He knew that life wasnt simple but then again why couldnt it be? He understood violence, the workings of a mafia, it was all clear to him. This was a whole new ball game to him and he hadn’t a clue what he was doing.
“Sure that sounds like the best idea, just be us and work it out i guess that you know I can’t really tell you anything more than I have that might shock you. Guess my skeletons are all out in the open now. What could be worse than kidnapping and mafia.” Scott said deciding that at least she knew the main worst parts of him. Sure it wasnt the detail because that would turn anyone a shade of pale but that didnt matter. She knew and he figured she could read between the lines as to what went on.
Seeing people look at them he just grinned, yes he was in the dirt with the most beautiful woman in the world. He wasn’t complaining one bit about it. Wincing teasingly as she poked him in the ribs Scott laughed and nodded. “Exactly I dont think there can be anything else but if there is... it can all be fixed and like we said, it’s an island that we can look after.” Scott added grinning glad to be there with her.

"Just us." Giving him a firm nod, Kelle finally pushed to her feet, dusted her pants off then held a hand to him. As she looked into his face, she had a sort of silly grin, thinking that he was the most amazing person she had ever run into, despite his occupation, but then, rationally, he was actually doing good, right? "Our rules, our game..." And those could change to suit their needs. "And we're honest with each other, right?" Taking a breath, she squeezed his hand. "I promise you that I'll let you know what's going through my head, as scary as that might be sometimes." She grinned and laughed, although there was the unspoken, serious plea that he be open with her as well...her biggest fear, with any committed relationship, was that she would invest her soul then have it fall apart, and she would be the last to know. She just wanted whoever she was with to tell her before that happened. Scott Cooper,

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle Taking her hand Scott pulled himself up as he laughed grinning back at her before he dusted off the sand and dust. He hadn’t meant to hurt her or cause any sort of upset to her but kidnapping her had been one of his better life choices. It wasnt the perfect plan but then if everyone found the perfect woman that way then it was sort of worth the act.
“Sure honest or as honest as you want me to be.” Scott said knowing that being honest came with a lot, not to mention if anything ever did happen at least Kelle had deniability on things. There were a few things in life better left unsaid and it wasnt like he was about to tell her where the bodies were buried just yet.
“Trust me I want to know every single scary thought you have and it cant be that bad.” He added grinning, being truly open with someone. He hadn’t done anything like that for a long time, it wasnt something he did when work relied on secrets and trusting no one. If everything fell apart would she know too much to be able to walk away from it all. Did he have a weak spot not because he did trust someone? Thinking ten steps ahead of everything was what he knew best but this he couldnt see ten steps ahead because he didnt know what Kelle would do. It was an entire new situation that he hadn’t been trained for at all.

"Well, I do know there are things I'm not going to ask...at least I don't think." Kelle took his hand, her fingers lacing into his as they walked. "It's funny, really, the things I worry about don't have anything to do with your...profession." Well, yeah, that did worry her some, too, but she was already finding it easy to justify what he did. "Anyway, I want to just have fun for now, get to know you for you, not what you do...or did. Are you sure you want to go riding? We can do anything you want...this isn't just my time, you get to have fun, too." This was a time of exploring each other, and she wanted to know what he liked and what made him happy, besides making her happy! Scott Cooper

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle “Okay that is good that you know that.” Scott said smiling, there were things he wasn’t all too ready to tell and of course there was always a worry that she would look at him differently as well. It wasn’t a case of, yeah bad day at the office we ran out of paperclips sort of work. “They don’t?” Scott asked a little shocked as he stared at Kelle for a moment before he started to worry about what could possibly worry her more than being a trained killer.
“What does worry you?” He asked not sure if he wasnt prepared for the answer or if he should have asked the question before now. “Yeah me too, that sounds like a good plan and yeah I’m sure. Havent been riding for years so why not try it out now.” He said smiling not wanting to change his mind on it, it wasnt exactly something he would have picked himself but then again he hadn’t really had much cause to think about what he enjoyed doing anymore.
It wasn’t that he didnt know but doing what he wanted hadn’t been on his mind for a long time so he was getting used to how that worked again. Being back in the UK wasn’t exactly a great choice for him but then again, he couldnt deny it did feel good to be home in a place he knew well enough. Chicago and his work was a family thing, this was the place he knew as his real home and the place he had grown up in which at one time he had enjoyed.

"Good!" Kelle grinned widely. "I love riding, it helps to clear my head, helps me focus." She shrugged with a laugh. "Well, mostly I can just let my brain go numb...or neutral?" It was hard to explain, but when she was riding she felt free of the stupid things in life. And maybe she could process her thoughts on the other subject...it was something she felt, but trying to explain it, even to herself, was a challenge. "And if you're afraid of falling off, we can ride double..." she grinned widely, "I'll sit behind you and hold you on!" She wiggled her eyebrows at him, then kissed his cheek. "And remember, if you do fall off and bash your head, I know CCR...or something!" Kelle Lindsay, EMTP

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle “Well focus is a great thing to have.” He said smiling as he grinned and laughed, “Neutral brain, hope it can do the same thing for me too. Too much thinking about everything in general.” The past few days thinking was all of what he had been doing, how she would take thing, if it wasn’t right, what he would do if things went sideways. His brain wasnt really doing much neutral of anything lately.
“I’m not afraid of falling off but are you sure holding onto me is a good idea... if I did fall of I wouldn’t want to squash you.” He joked as he chuckled feeling her kiss and the CPR. “Good job one of us knows about that, looks like I’ll need to make sure you’re the one safe in case I need CPR.” He teased grinning at Kelle as he leaned in to kiss her lightly.
Scott wasnt used to saving lifes and CPR usually meant he needed professional help which Kelle had given the night he decided to go and find her. He was just glad he managed to find someone as good as her when he did, if it wasnt for her then the baby wouldnt have been okay that night and his person of interest wouldnt be wherever they were. It was best not to talk too much about what happened to him in the spirit of things that weren’t to be too well known. Still he couldnt help but grin as he walked to go and find the horses.

“I’m not afraid of falling off but are you sure holding onto me is a good idea... if I did fall of I wouldn’t want to squash you.”"Oh, right, that's a good point." Grinning, Kelle nodded sagely. "I'd hate to get squished in Scotland, that's something to do at home." Of course, while he had a good point, she was pretty sure he'd stay on anyway, and even if he did fall off and take her with him, if she was going to be squished, there was no one else she'd rather have squish her! “Good job one of us knows about that, looks like I’ll need to make sure you’re the one safe in case I need CPR.”"Oh, well, any time you need mouth to mouth..." She gave him a saucy grin, then broke into a genuine smile when they got to the stables...she loved riding and, as much fun as she was having here, she missed her own horse, not to mention the dogs and cats. "Oh, here's a pretty boy!" Picking out a big dapple grey, she held out her hand to let him sniff her, then patted his neck. The stable hand met them, and in a few minutes they were on their way, headed across the rolling hills. "You look like a knight in...well, without shining armor!" she laughed. "Me...I'm kind of just the country bumpkin!" Well, in all honesty, it was the small English saddle that had her a little uncomfortable, since she was accustomed to the larger Western type. Still, she wasn't a stranger to English, and was holding her own. "So, did you ride a lot when you were a little kid? You were a little kid, right?" Scott Cooper

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] IN THE HEART of the jungle “Oh yeah pretty sure you can get squished anywhere but home makes it feel like you at least know where you are.” He said grinning as nodded. Scott knew he would do his best to not squash Kelle, he had done enough bad things to her without trying to add to that list. It wasn’t something he wanted to do but then again, given what he had done already it wasnt like it could get much worse for two people trying to figure each other out.
Scott watched Kelle’s face when they got to the stables, honestly if he could keep that same look on her face forever he would have. It wasn’t something he ever wanted to see go as he watched her pick out a horse she liked. His horse was chestnut brown, a lovely sleek colour though at least that meant the horse knew what he was doing. “Aww well you look like a princess not a country bumpkin at all.” He added grinning used to the saddle type. No handles, small and practical with a slightly raised back.
It was the very thing he had been taught on and the whole idea of a western saddle had been a new thing to him though he hadn’t been riding in what felt like forever. “Oh yeah at one point, many many years ago sure.” He said laughing as he nodded, “Yeah I did a fair bit of riding, my whole family loved it. Would have liked my own horse but we didn’t really have time to keep up with one. So I just stalked the local stables a lot.” Scott explained, he had loved the freedom it gave him but then he grew up and riding became time spent away from school, books and then the military which meant horses took a backseat to life once again. “What about you? You must have practice on the English Saddle?” He asked her seeing how well she was getting on.

"I never trained in English, just sort of picked it up a bit from friends," Kelle explained. "But, you know, growing up a Montana girl, it was all about Western...well, when it wasn't bareback. But then, I was riding almost as soon as I could walk...on weekends, Dad and I would be out all day, riding through the hills." She realized that there was a good deal she hadn't talked about, not because she had a reason not to, but just because...well, there hadn't been much of an opening. "I loved that...kind of being the 'son' he never had, not all dolls and makeup and girly-girl...we'd camp and go fishing and riding while Mom was happy at home 'staying warm and clean'." She grinned, then shrugged. "Then Dad got Guillain–Barré Syndrome...muscle weakness...he almost died and he still hasn't fully recovered. It's why I went into paramedic-ing instead of staying in school to be a vet. I don't mind, I mean, I'm still young, I have plenty of time to do that." Her grin widened as she looked out over the heather-covered fields. "Well, that is, if we ever decide to leave this place! It's like a dream, really." All sorts of weird dreams mixed into one that she was willing to see through. Scott Cooper
