[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna smiled hearing he liked it in Chicago so far, that meant at least he might consider staying around. To her Chicago was a place to get lost and a place that felt like home when it needed to, it was a city that had everything to give and could take everything right at the same time. It wasnt like there weren’t another ten places like that to Chicago was it. The hub of activity in every way, the place that made her work fun to do and the puzzle all that better to solve.
“Eight o’clock works great.” She replied checking her time, well trying to look date worthy never happened over night and this she hadn’t even managed to have her ten day plan in place for it. Then again he had seen her buying the makings for a dinner alone and still asked her out on a date to she mustn’t be too bad. Parting ways Sienna felt relaxed up until the moment she set foot through her front door.
It wasnt the date or idea of a date, it was the idea that she would turn up and he wouldnt. She would turn up and he’d say ‘yeah this is the desperate woman I met who interrupted my thoughts on what I was reading’. Then there was the axe murderer angle, the serial killer, the very strange guy that she needed to background check first but then he said he was a cop. That counted for something right. Placing the store items away Sienna grabbed a quick shower before raiding her wardrobe for that perfect outfit.
It was a restaurant date, it was casual not too formal as she threw a few dresses onto the door that didnt make the grade. When it came time to look for trousers the panic set in before the sane Sienna came back to land. Black jeans, little heels, a striped shirt and grey jumper, it was simple, casual smart and well relaxing. She let her hair from the pony tail she had tugged it into, letting it curl lightly as she left her place and made her way to the address given.
Sienna wasn’t late, maybe a few minutes to eight but not late yet. She parked as near as she could before hovering by the door for a moment, her jacket slung over her arm and bag clutched tightly in her hand as she walked in. She could feel herself holding her breath as she glanced around the restaurant trying to catch a glimpse of the same guy she had seen at the store as she double checked the address before the hostess asked if she wanted a table.
That was when she saw him, her mouth almost dropped as she thought he was handsome in the store but now, no he was like... were there words as she tried not to stare. The smile came back to her face as she waved unsure if David had seen her but relieved to see him there as she pointed so the hostess knew where she was heading as Sienna started to make her way over to the table.

When Loki wanted something enough or set himself a goal he worked towards it steadily until it was accomplished. Back in the store he had worked towards asking Sienna out and had achieved that goal confidently. But he knew her saying 'yes' to the offer and her actually showing were two different things as he sat there bouncing his knee under the table with interned anxiousness and anticipation. Considering that she had been the one to suggest they go out that night Loki didn't have any reason to think that Sienna wouldn't turn up. But there was still the possibility that she could have changed her mind about going on a date with an introverted and somewhat brusque detective with a facial tick or had second thoughts about meeting up with a relative stranger after just meeting them. Not that he would be devastated if she didn't show, he'd just be disappointed but he'd push it aside and get on with his week, though her turning up would be much better of course. He would just have to wait and see. And waiting was what he did, his eyes gazing into the middle distance as he sat there rested his elbow on the table with his hand on his mouth and chins. Then after a few minutes his date walked in and Loki lifted his head. A gentle smile softened his pensive look as he saw her walking in. She showed up. He waved in return letting her know he had seen her and he watched as she walked over to him. He couldn't help but notice that they had dressed in very similar outfits, a shirt with a sweater over the top. A fact that was kind of cute, and was something to be added on the list of things they had in common. Not to mention it was a relief to Loki because the sweaters he owned were too casual for a first date and his shirts were too stuffy and professional, so putting them together was the best he could do. "Hey." He greeted as she stepped over to the table. "You made it. And on time too." He added as she took her seat. "Do you want a drink?" He offered, knowing the waitress would be over any second to ask the same question. "I take it you found the place all right?" Seeing as she was there on time and had been given the address he didn't imagine she had much trouble finding the place or a space to park. It was only a minute later when the waitress came over to take their drink orders. Loki ordered a beer then after she took Sienna's order the waitress placed a menu in front of each of them before heading to the kitchen. Loki looked at the beautiful blonde, a half smile raising one side of his mouth, "Your hair looks very nice that way." He complimented. A small part of him wondering what she was doing there with him, he thought she looked pretty under the terrible bulbs of the store, now under the flattering lights of the restaurant she looked rather stunning. In his eyes she did anyway. "So what do you like the look of?" Loki opened the menu, his eyes casually roaming over the options , "The mini crispy spring rolls here are amazing" He told her from personal experience. Yes small talk wasn't his strongest area of expertise but he was warming up to it. Tag: Sienna Kaye |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna hadn’t been this nervous for a while, it wasnt just the nervous date nerves but the fact she actually found the Loki interesting. More than just skin deep attraction or a date that was a one off thing if he turned up, she couldnt deny that she really wanted him to but then she had to prepare herself for the fact that she maybe came across as nuts. After all who met in the isle of a store and then went on a date? Maybe suggesting that night was a mistake, did he turn up or did she or should she run and put it down on nerves.
No it was unfair to just run, she has asked for that night and maybe that way it would stop the nerves or over thinking. After all she had asked him to go out that night, she could have waited for him to pick a time and place but there she went getting all. Why not later today. Seeing his smile when she finally managed to see him she felt relived, he was actually there. Then about three seconds later nervous again because ‘he was actually right there’.
Even when she saw his outfit, she had to take a look at hers to see they had dressed similar, oh he would think she was a stalker she was convinced. It wasnt that she had, she just didnt know what to put on and to be relaxed about it. Well she wasnt all heels and fancy dressed every day, no she lived in comfy clothes when work wasnt involved. “Hey and sure I did, you can’t be late to date you know.” She added grinning as Sienna sat down glad to be there and happy that David was there too.
“Sure a drink would be great.” She said smiling as Sienna nodded, “Yes I did, it was easy enough to find actually and plus I had a great taxi driver guide to do it too.” Well sure it didnt take a lot to work out a map but then trying to wonder around Chicago looking for your date first. Yeah the taxi driver knew where she was talking about and it had worked out. Hearing Loki order a beer Sienna smiled as she ordered a rum and coke, simple really and sure she might have had wine but then first date she didnt want to seem like she was some sort of wine snob.
Which she wasnt but then he was a cop so conclusions and reading into things was a thing for a cop she guessed. She glanced at Loki for a moment, he was handsome and interesting in the store but outside of it, the change of clothes and vaguely more relaxed version, well almost more relaxed version she liked even better especially with that half smile. “Thank you and I really like your outfit, it seems more you than in the store earlier.” She complimented back smiling happily.
He would turn out to be a crazy cop, serial killer, general insane person... yes because he was having dinner with her. People just didnt do that with her or at least the ones she had found and she hadn’t been on a date for a while and most of those ended badly. Yeah she couldn’t get this lucky at all. Glancing down at the menu almost forgetting to really look at it Sienna smiled and laughed, “Well...” She said thoughtfully at the mention of spring rolls. “Spring rolls it is then and what else do you suggest from here?” She asked him smiling.
“Anyone would think you were a regular here.” She said smiling teasing slightly but then she had her places she ate most nights a week too. “So David, are you the adventurous order guy, throwing yourself into a dish you don’t know? Or the one who knows what he likes and sticks with it?” She asked curiously deciding now was the best time to ask a few questions.

"You're a rum and coke girl, huh? I can respect that." He smiled lightly with an approving nod. Not that he really cared what she drank, he was just keeping the mood light. "Um." Loki hesitated, glancing down at his outfit when she complimented him before looking back up at her, "To be honest just a dark sweater is really more 'me'." He confessed before jerking one shoulder in a shrug. "But it's a little casual for a first date and I wanted to make a good impression." He added with flirtatious glint in his eyes. "Depends what you like really." He replied when she asked him what else he would recommend. "The noodles are pretty good here, the mixed vegetables with oyster sauce is a nice dish. But all the food is pretty good here." "I've been here a few times." He conceded with a wry smile when she teased him. He had been to the restaurant several times but he had a Chinese diner that he frequented more often. But for a first date the restaurant was more appropriate venue, hence why he had suggested it in the first place. “So David, are you the adventurous order guy, throwing yourself into a dish you don’t know? Or the one who knows what he likes and sticks with it?” "Both I guess." He replied, putting his menu down and wrapping his fingers around his glass. "Duck's my favorite...but I'm not afraid to try other things." He finished before taking a sip of his beer, not able to take his eyes away from hers. "Don't tell me, you're a close your eyes and point kind of girl?" He shot back lightheartedly. Well he was teasing a little but given how she had said yes to an immediate date with a random detective she had met in the store it wouldn't surprise him if she was. Not that it would be a bad thing, there was room for a little more spontaneity and adventurousness in his life. "But seriously, would you say you are a very spontaneous person?" Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna smirked lightly as she nodded, “Glad you can respect that, just as much as I can the respect the guy who orders beer on a date.” She said with a grin, actually if he had ordered anything remotely flowery she might have taken off. A guy with a cosmo in his hand was a warning sign to her so the perfect order in her mind was beer. The hesitation made her a little nervous as she complimented him, maybe she wasnt supposed to do that she wondered. After all it had been a while since she had been on a date and there were too many rules to it all now.
Grinning she returned the flirtatious glint as she chuckled, “Well I would love to see you in just a dark sweater and so long as you’re you, it doesn’t matter to me how casual you are.” She added not wanting him to feel like he had to wear anything that wasnt him. He was different to the style she had seen in the store and yes it was great but she didnt mind either side she had seen so far. He was handsome and flirting and really, really seemed like a nice guy.
Listening to his recommendation on the dishes she grinned and nodded, “Well then I think I can trust you with what to order then, can’t have just anyone telling me what is good here.” She added smiling lightly trying to relax about her choice to go out with a guy she had literally just met. Gazing into his eyes Sienna smiled before her face frowned slightly at the mention of duck. “You... you mean you eat Donald Duck?” She pretended to gasp, “How could you?” She added faking mock shock and horror at the choice before he laughed as she wasnt wanting him to think she was nuts.
“Sure I am, food is art so why not trust the chef, unless of course someone tells me the noodles are good so in that case, I’ll probably try a noodle dish.” Sienna said while smiling at him as she thought over his question. “Sure in all seriousness I would like to think I can be spontaneous, I mean inviting the guy I just met in the store on a date could be classed as that.” She said smiling, “I mean I’m not liable to dye my hair pink tomorrow and go rob a bank... though telling a cop that would be nuts but yes. I’m not that spontaneous. What about you David? Are you the spontaneous type in life?”
Sienna wondered about him, sure she could make a choice a snap decision and likely it was the wrong one. It was a flaw of hers, like if the evening turned sour and he turned out to be a serial killer that was what she could chalk the entire event up to. A bad snap decision over talk about Chinese food. If it went great then sure it was one of her snap choices that worked and it wasnt an issue. Something told her that Loki was a little set in his ways but then she was sure he had a little bit of let’s just follow the adventure in him somewhere. After all he was a cop and you couldnt get much more of an uncertain and spontaneous day if you tried.

Loki's face dropped when Sienna frowned at the mention of duck. But then a little smirk appeared when he realized she was only playing. "You had me there. I was worried for a second, if you have a problem with duck I would have had to stand up and walk out. Avoid wasting our time." He teased back. "And that would probably spoil the date a little." He joked dryly. He nodded as she told him she thought food was art. Seeing as she worked with art it didn't surprise him that she had an artistic outlook on the world, in fact he found that a nice quality in her. As a detective he had a different outlook on the world, he was more logical and calculating. For him things tended to be either black or white with maybe some gray areas here and there. He figured it must be nice in some ways for people like Sienna who could see the world with more colour and maybe even be able to add some of that colour into the lives of the people around them. Another half smile momentarily crossed his face as he continued to listen to her talk about pink hair and robbing banks. "That would be a mistake." He told her plainly. "Pink would be too much of a distinguishing feature in a robbery. You want to keep it simple; All black outfit, balaclava, gloves. Nondescript." He joked, again with a dry almost deadpan humor. "Besides you look nice as a blonde." He complimented. Loki hard blinked as he looked across the table at her for a moment when she asked him if he was spontaneous, "Uuh, no." If you had to describe Loki in one word 'spontaneous' would not be the first word to spring to mind. Now he was adaptive, able to change and adjust if different situations or scenarios arise and he could go with the flow. But that was different from being the spontaneous type who would just up and do something on random impulse without any forethought or planning. "I'm more methodical." He confessed. "I can play things by ear, but I like order."Even in the action of asking her out there had been a certain level of calculation and planing to it. Strategies and courses of action ready for each of the various possible outcomes of the situation. But here they were, spontaneity and order, at the table seemingly getting on fine together and having a nice time. The waitress then returned to take their order. Loki ordered spring rolls and the beef lo mein before looking to Sienna to see if she was going to choose or if she was actually going to close her eyes and point. "You said you went to university, what did you study?" He asked once the waitress had left, remembering Sienna said in the store that she started traveling after university. Art was presumably going to be the answer, but Loki knew better than to make assumptions. She could have studied other things as well or maybe not. Who knew, maybe a career in art hadn't been the original plan. Maybe she planned on being a lawyer or a vet and had spontaneously taken an art class one day that changed all her plans. Loki knew all too well from his time as a cop and from his own experience that you couldn't make assumptions about people. In his youth he had himself been a troubled teen on the wrong side of the law at one point, now he was a dedicated detective on the right side of the law who spent maybe a little too much time on the job. No you couldn't assume anything about anyone and you always needed to find out the facts and ask the questions if you wanted to know someone. "Did you always want a career in art?" He asked, wanting to know all about the enchanting woman in front of him. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna smiled and laughed shaking her head, “I would never expect you to do that, I am sure I could go for a boiled rice if that was the case.” She replied grinning, “Well that would depend really, I’d kinda hope you’d take me with you rather than just leave me with the duck.” She added enjoying his dry sense of humour. It wasnt often she could meet someone and enjoy their company like she did with David, his humour was different but it was fun and good natured.
Seeing Loki smiled when she was talking about breaking the law and pink hair, it wasnt that she didnt think like that sometimes but it was nice to know she could amuse someone with it. Sienna wasn’t a criminal, she did everything she could to stop the criminals but it wasnt like she wanted to start blurring the lines. Then again maybe she needed to buy a pink wig and try it out, at least that way she could be spontaneous on the day and just decide, blonde or pink day today.
Leaning in a little Sienna listened intently before chuckling, “Wow so you really have thought about this huh.” She enquired, “Thanks for the tips, if I get caught though I’ll surely tell them that you told me the how to guide. So any tips on the getaway vehicle?” She questioned, obviously joking though it would be serious bad luck to have a string of robberies now. Sienna fought to hide the blush on her face from the compliment about her hair colour.
This wasnt what she was used to at all when it came to dating, in fact she wasnt a huge dating person given work and life and generally not having much of a life outside of work. Still when the conversation turned to David being spontaneous she could see he wasn’t the pink hair Friday type. “Methodical is a good thing to be, it’s a wonderful trait in a person.” She said smiling, “Order is good too, me I like both ordered spontaneous or at least chaos and order.”
Sienna listened to Loki order his dinner as she grinned at him for a moment pointing to three of the options on the menu. “Okay, we’re being spontaneous at this side of the table so one order of spring rolls and you can surprise me with one of the three options please.” She said smiling at the waitress and back at Loki. “And all of those include noodles or mixed veg and oyster sauce.” She added grinning. So she was trying to be a little out there with her order but she wasnt opposed to trying new things on a menu.
“Yes I did, I love learning new things but it was a little predictable on my part I guess.” She explained, “I studied art history, fine art and art restoration. I know, super boring but I love my art and I get to travel with my work too so I get to see some of the most beautiful painting and works in the most beautiful of places.” So yes it wasnt like she wasnt biased for her job, she loved it. Sure there was the criminal side but that didnt meant she couldn’t appreciate a good forgery now and again.
“So what about you David, was there university or college or just straight into the police academy?” Sienna asked curious as to what his past was, the tattoos spoke of something more but then she knew now better than to ask about it. She didnt want to upset him any but she couldn’t help but be curious about the very enthralling man sat across from her.
“Always no, I wanted to be a world’s best thief.” She said with a straight face, “Then me and my fellow bandit sister tried it, we failed and spent an hour or two in the back of a squad car. Turns out I wasn’t the world’s greatest, more like the world’s worst so I needed a career change.” She waited a moment before she grinned, it was a true story though she hadn’t intended being a thief. It was more like a bad decision mixed with a sister who had made the same choice. “True story but me and my bandit were scared straight after that. So it was either art or become a cop, my mother worked for a museum and that’s where I fell in love with it all and my dad. He had the best stories to tell me, so I thought I would mix both words. Art and investigating, best of both.” Sienna explained before she glanced over at David smiling. “So tell me, is being a detective the original career choice or were you more space man or Action Man?” Sienna asked.

"No, I'm just giving you insider information." He replied light heartedly when she said he had really thought about robbing a bank. "As a detective I know what we look for." He added before taking a sip of his beer. "Oh that's nice, throw me under the bus huh?" He teased when she admitted she would grass him up for giving her the advice. "I don't think it would be wise to give you any more tips. The less I know about your plans the the easier I can plead ignorance and deny all knowledge." He replied when she asked about get away cars. "Thank you." Was Loki's simple reply when she said being methodical was a good trait. Not everyone saw it that way, and it was helpful that she did if she was going to be seeing him. Loki smirked as he watched Sienna leave her meal choice to the waitress, "You really are a wild woman." He joked. He listened silently as she went on to talk about her schooling and travel. Loki wasn't a big talker by any means, but listening was what he did best and he wanted to listen to everything the intriguing woman opposite him had to say. "It's not boring." He commented. "I saw a documentary on restoration last month actually." He continued. Blinking as he spoke. "They restored an ancient sarcophagus to put in a museum. The process is so meticulous, it's fascinating in a way." Loki my not have the patience to spend the time and effort painstakingly restoring a piece of history, but he could listen about it for an hour. Again he listened silently as she told him about her previous criminal desires, and she smiled lightly when she admitted to being the world worst thief. Loki would not have pegged Sienna as the type at first glance, all bank heist jokes aside. It just went to show that everyone had a past, everyone was young and stupid once and that you couldn't judge a person by looking at them. A lesson he had learned years ago and put into practice every day on the job. Then the question was put to him, "Um, I don't really remember what I wanted to be when I was little." He replied, lightly rubbing his chin as he thought. "I remember I had this little Diecast police car I always played with, so I might have wanted to be a cop, I don't really remember. But as I grew up I had no direction for a while." He continued, actually opening up a little. "To be honest I did a similar thing. Got myself cuffed in the back of a squad car and kind of got scared straight too." He confessed. Though his story ended with him doing a spell in juvie, not that he admitted that part. Not on the first date anyway, that would be something he would share with her if and when they got to know each other a little better. " After that I had the choice whether I wanted to be that side or this side of the line. I chose to be this side, best thing I've ever done.""So do you have any siblings other than the deviant sister?" He asked, turning the focus back to his date. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be “Oh I’ll take any inside information I can get.” She said smiling enjoying being able to joke with him about it. She hoped he knew it was a joke and she didnt end up on the wrong side of a warrant call. “Well then detective, do tell me more. I could always use some good pointers to get away with the perfect crime.” She added chuckling as she shook her head about throwing him under the bus. “Well if you know I’d throw you under the bus then we can at least share the spoils of the robbery right? That way my new partner in crime cannot throw me under the bus either.”
Sienna wasn’t one for a mutually assured destruction, people would do whatever it was people wanted to do. She knew that much in life or at least life had taught her that much already. Smiling lightly at Loki as he spoke about not giving her anymore tips, “Oh come on, live a little detective. Take a walk on the wild side, if you don’t like it. I promise to get you back to the right side of life without any harm... mostly.” She teased smiling at him, he was easy to talk to and in a person that was important.
It wasnt that awkward conversation or scraping around for scraps of ‘how is the weather’ type of chat. It was nice to just be able to go out on a date and just talk. Methodical was the perfect trait to have, it might take time but at least things would be right. Sienna wasnt always methodical but she worked it out in the end, she might start in the middle of something but it worked for her most of the time. “Oh completely wild, you haven’t seen me order a curry yet... that is when things get interesting. Who knows if it’s a low chilli factor or if it’s a trip to the ER i’ve burnt my mouth chilli plate.” She said smiling.
Sienna was surprise that Loki didnt talk much, she half expected him to but it was nice for a man to listen to her or at least seem interested in what she was saying. David was a man of many layers which was nice to see as she smiled wondering if he thought he talked too much. “You did?” She said surprised by him watching a documentary on it. Sienna listened to him intently as he spoke about what it showed. That was her kind of TV she thought happily.
“Very fascinating, I love to see restored sarcophagus. To image what it must have been like to live back then in that world. If you wanted, I could let you see around a few of the museums in Chicago, I know at least one has an Egyptian display.” Sienna offered, so yes they had barely started a first day but David was that kind of guy, the guy she wanted to know more about. A second date if he wanted, it was fun and after all unlike most other dates she wasn’t running for the hills right now so by her thinking it was going well.
Sienna smiled as she listened to him talk about the police car, it was nice to hear something personal about him. To see him opening up a little as she guessed he might be meticulous about that too. “Oh Detective, now I sense a story there.” She said grinning as she leaned forward a little, “Glad you got scared straight and glad that you’re on this side of the line. But what kid actually has direction so I guess that little diecast police car had a big affect on you.” She figured that toys as a kid must do, not that she played with a police car but her playground was a museum or a precinct depending on which parent was doing what.
“No for me it’s just my deviant sister, I have to say she is also on the straight and narrow now too. It’s amazing what these police cars can do to people.” She joked lightly, “So David, how about you? Do you have a deviant sister or brother? Or was that your walk on the wild side?” She asked intrigued by the man in front of her to the point she forgot practically about the rest of the restaurant.

Loki laughed again at Sienna's humor when she joked about mouth burning curries that could end in a trip to the ER. Seeing as he was at work more than he wasn't at work the detective spent most of his time being wholly serious, and he was having a great time relaxing and enjoying the fun, lighthearted company of the his date. "It's nice when someone as beautiful as you has a sense of humor." He commented, looking at her with a light smile lingering on his face. Loki wasn't a man of may words, but when he did open his mouth he said what he thought, confidently and directly. Which had both it's pros and cons, making him come off as either confident or brusque depending on the situation and setting. But hopefully that character trait wouldn't bite him tonight and would come off as a healthy level of confidence to the woman he was hoping to see again. He seemed to have struck a chord when he mentioned the sarcophagus and he listened to her talking about imagining living in that time. Then to his good fortune she seamlessly turned her sentence into an invitation. "Yeah, I'd like that." He accepted. His tone was pretty even, but the glint in his soulful eyes and the quickness of his reply definitely showed eagerness. The truth was he had been interested in the restoration process more than the sarcophagus it's self, but it was common ground nonetheless and he was going to roll with it. He would happily go and look at as many exhibits of sarcophagi as she liked if it meant a second date. He'd look at exhibits of thimbles if it made her happy, just as long as he got to spend some more time with her. Not to mention a museum seemed like an ideal setting for a second date with a woman like Sienna. "I'm glad you and your sister got scared strait too." He told her. "You're too nice for prison." He added with a light, flirtatious smirk. "One sister, older." Was his characteristically short reply. "She's married with two daughters, so she's not exactly the wild one." "What about you, any nieces or nephews?" He asked, flawlessly turning the focus back to her. "You seem like you'd make a great 'fun' aunt." He teased. He could picture her having crazy pillow or Nerf gun fights and scrambling to hide the candy wrappers and get everyone to bed as the car pulls up outside on nights she babysat. "How about you?" He asked while they were on the subject of children, "Do you have kids?"Tag: Sienna Kaye . (Sorry for the long delay!) |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna felt herself blush hearing Loki thought she was beautiful, she tried to have a good sense of humour even if it didn’t always go to plan as she smiled back at him. “It’s nice to know there are detectives in this city that can appreciate a sense of humour, handsome ones at that.” She replied, it wasn’t a word of a lie as she did find him handsome, intriguing and had a pretty good sense of humour too and a good taste in food which spoke volumes to her. It was nice to hear him talk as she guessed he didn’t do that much talking but when he did, he had her listening to every single word he said.
Loki appeared confident to her, even when she started talking about work which was usually when everyone checked out and usually asked for the bill he was listening as she sat there trying not to stare at him in amazement. His eagerness and the quick reply she wasn’t used to, there was normally a long pause and a thinking of any old excuse moment as she smiled wider at him. “I will set something up then.” She replied happily, glad that he appeared as eager as she was to show him something like that.
Sienna laughed hearing his ‘too nice for prison’ comment. “Aww thanks, I guess the orange jump suit wouldn’t have worked too well for me.” She said with a sigh smiling as she listened to the short replies he gave. “I bet you make a great uncle to them and you never know, it’s usually the quiet ones you know.” She said smiling, “Glad you’ve got siblings though I figure it would be lonely growing up without them.”
Her sister and nieces or nephews, the world was far from ready for that. “Oh I’d love to be great fun aunt but my sister hasn’t gotten that far yet. She’s married, settled but you know just waiting for the announcement of yay I get to be an auntie.” She explained grinning, she had always figured she’d the one to get all the kids hyped up on sugar and send them back to relaxed parents on cloud nine. She chuckled lightly at the question of kids as she shook her head. “No I’ve never really gotten that far in life yet, I mean I would love to have them but never really met that right person.” She added not sure if that was a complete deal breaker or not for him.
She never could tell with the question of kids. Dating could be such a minefield at times. “What about you? Any kids?” Sienna asked smiling, she could actually see him saying yes he did have them simply because he seemed such a nice guy. The kind that would take a kid to the park, nothing too much trouble and have a lot of fun along the way. The tattoos said he had a story and from what she understood so far, there was a lot to know so in her mind it wasn’t much of a leap to think he might.

Unlike his date Loki didn't blush at the complement of being called handsome. He took it as the compliment it was meant to be and as a positive sign that things were going well between them. After all mutual attraction was always a positive when it came to first dates and potential budding relationships. "Great." Was his one word reply when she said she'd set something up at the museum. Not a lot of his dates tended to flow so naturally and comfortably as it was with Sienna, and not all of them progressed enough to make plans for a second date, especially not as early in the evening as this. A lot of it was down to Loki's mysterious and reticent nature, but thankfully Sienna didn't seem put off by it. Loki squinted in contemplation for a moment, mentally imagining her in the outfit. "I don't know, I think you could pull off a colour as bold as orange." He replied. "Just a sweater or jacket would be a better life choice than a prison jumpsuit." He joked with his brand of deadpan humor. A tired smile raised one side of his mouth when she thought he'd be a great uncle and joked that it was always the quiet ones. "To be honest I've only just met them." He admitted. His smile fading back to a neutral and non-emotive expression as they continued to talk about siblings. "I uh, I actually lost contact with my sister growing up." He told her. "Our parents separated when I was very young and our lives kind of went in opposite directions." So he wasn't giving her the full story but he was actually opening up a modest amount. "We've only just re-connected properly more recently." He finished. Hopefully it was enough to make a start without causing her to ask too many questions. Loki wasn't one to talk about himself a lot and he really wasn't one to delve onto conversations about his past, especially with people he was only just getting to know. The detective nodded when she told him she'd love to have kids one day and he all but recoiled when she asked if he had children, "Me?" Unfortunately it seemed that Loki didn't visuals himself being the capable father that Sienna did. "Uh, no." He continued with a hint of self-conscious laughter. It wasn't that he didn't want children of his own, he did, deep down he really did. He just questioned his ability to be a parent, or a good one at least. Growing up without a father he had no frame of reference. Not to mention the things he had seen on the job had served to reinforce his sense of hesitancy and anxiety of becoming a father, the fear of losing a child. Just look away for one second, that's all it takes. "But who knows, maybe one day." He said, at least keeping the possibility open. "So no kids and no nephews or nieces. Besides your sister do you have any friends who help get you into trouble? Or a bestie who'll post your bail?" They'd covered siblings and kids so friends seemed like the next natural question to keep the conversation going, without drifting into the topic of marriage and family on the first date and risking her running for the hills. [googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be The mystery of the man was fun, it was better than knowing the five year plan before the main course and the ten year before desert. It made sense that there was to be a little mystery and where Loki was concerned, there seemed to be a lot of it and it didn’t bother her one bit. Sienna didn’t feel like he was hiding something or even being evasive, likely just quiet or private and she enjoyed both of those things. She watched his squinting at the mention of the outfit as she laughed lightly enjoying his sense of humour.
“Well I will take that under advisement, the best advice I ever got from a detective.” She said grinning, “I might just have to wear orange to the museum now, just to see what you think.” Honestly she wasn’t beyond it if only to take a joke though he was right, she couldn’t really see herself in the orange jump suit. Ward of the state and all that, nope she caught the thieves of the world and gave them the orange of the courts allowed it.
“Meeting them is a great start to being an uncle you know. Next you’ll be taking them swimming, boating, out for tea... the list is never ending.” She said with a smile, she thought he would be good with kids. He just had that sort of way about him and quiet meant interesting which she figured any kid could pick up on as easily as an adult. Sienna lost her smile too listening to his story about his sister and the upbringing he had.
She had been lucky that way, her parents were married still and happy to a point and she had known her sister as long as she had been there.”I’m glad that you reconnected, having a sister is great. There’s no one you’d hate more in the world and no one you’d love more either. All at the same time.” She added trying to smile a little, interested about what he had to say. “Besides a little distance can be good, my sister knew my every move growing up. It was like living with another cop in the house and one that blabbed for their own gain. You’ve no idea how expensive silence can be.” She joked though her fair share of pocket money had been given to fund a quiet sister.
Sienna could see Loki’s reaction to kids wasn’t overly favourable, it was for some people and not for others. “Like you say maybe one day, but I can still see you with the nice house, wife and ten kids running around somehow.” She said smiling, “Just practice on the niece and nephew, those ones can always be given back to the owners.” She teased though yes she would be the world’s worst aunt. Cookies, sugar, whatever they wanted until mum and dad got back and she could be ‘here’ they were great, now good luck.
“Friends... well I have a few and yes I have that one bestie who would post bail but more likely to be sitting in the cell with me. Sort of all for one and one for all type. Then again it’s usually me who’d post her bail.” Sienna said thoughtfully for a moment, “Between work and home, I’m not out much so when we do meet up... you can imagine.” Sienna didn’t consider herself wild but she liked to go out with friends now and again even if they were the ones dragging her into a mess somewhere along the way.
“So same question to you? Who’s your bail man or woman, are they with you or buying you back from the station and jail life?” She asked deciding it was a good way to go, she felt it might answer a little more about his story if he chose to tell anything on it. Then again, she at least knew who to ask about it if he didn’t and the occasion arose.

"Yeah?" Loki smirked when she said about wearing orange to the museum, "Go for it." He dared, amused at the thought. A bold fashion statement like that seemed to match Siena's personality and he could see her doing exactly as she threatened. And there wasn't a part of him that would mind being seen with her bold as day in a bright orange garment. In a way it would be fitting, her vivacious and enthusiastic personality was a good contrast to his stoic nature. Yin and Yang and all of that. "I've already had finger sandsiches with them and their bears." He told her before starting on his food. "...That was a new and interesting experience." He stated. It sure wasn't what he was used to, but nonetheless it had been a nice experience even if it was outside of his comfort zone. "But it was cute. They're cute." He added with a light smile. He hadn't known the girls for long but it seemed they had somehow managed to win his heart already. It felt nice being 'Uncle David', it felt nice having family. "I'm glad too." He nodded. "It's nice just to know she's okay." He had spent years wondering what his sister was doing and hoping she was all right. Knowing she had a good life and a happy family, or what seemed like a happy family, somehow made the time he spent not knowing okay. Loki didn't choke on his food, but he needed to quickly wash it down with a swig of his beer, before putting the side of his fist over his mouth as he cleared his throat at the mention of ten kids and a house. He nodded with a half amused half uncomfortable smile. The thought of being married with kids and white picket fencing was out of his comfort zone, but the comments about giving back to their owners was funny. "Yeah. Like grandparents, enjoy the fun parts and just give em back when they start crying." He jested, covering his light awkwardness. Thankfully the conversation soon transitioned to friends. "Oh I can imagine. I can just picture you painting the town red with your bestie...or maybe you'd paint it bright orange?" He quipped, keeping the flirting at a healthy level. Then it was put to him if his friend would likely share a cell or post his bail, "That's a good question. With Madison that could go either way." Yes Madison had spirit alright, but she was a true blue friend and a great partner, the kind you know you can trust your life with. "Madison's my partner. She's the kind of person who can get me into trouble as quickly as she would be there to get me out of it."Maddie definitely was his closest friend. Heck she was arguably the only close friend he had in Chicago right now, though it looked like that was going to change if the date kept going well. It looked like he was in with a shot of getting himself a girlfriend and wouldn't that come as a surprise to several people in the bullpen? "Is the food okay?" In his experience the food had always been good here and he'd never had to send anything back as of yet. Though in his opinion even if the food had arrived cold eating out with her tonight was better than being at home cooking homemade Chinese for one. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be “Game on then.” Sienna said, wondering what the most orange piece of clothing she owned was. It might not be all orange but she would do her best to make sure that it wasn’t going to just be a scarf or earrings. If Loki wanted orange he was going to get it, like it or not. Sienna listened to Loki talk about finger sandwiches and the bears. She was unsure if she could see him sitting through a tea party like that but then again, the man wasn’t anything but a surprise to her.
A complete mystery if she was honest and she liked that. “See... there you go, once you start with the cute, it’s all over.” She said grinning, seeing the light smile on his face. There wasn’t any denying that it suited him and it was nice to see, a good contrast to the stoic nature she had seen before. If anything could raise a smile it was kids and it seemed like being an uncle was something he enjoyed.
“It’s all anyone wants to know really, I mean if you can be happy in life then it’s the greatest thing in the world.” She said smiling, she had seen a few people happy. She wished her sister was happy in anything she did too and it wasn’t beyond her to force the happy either. A shopping day or a dinner out but family had that effect sometimes. Just knowing things were okay was enough. When the conversation turned to kids, Sienna could have kicked herself watching him swig the beer and clear his throat.
It didn’t take a genius to see she had hit a nerve with what she said and seeing the uncomfortable smile, half and half it was a little like ‘hey let’s talk marriage since dinner is going great’. Honestly why did she even say that? She was grateful for the jest about the grandparents, amusing herself with the food and drink for a moment as she nodded to him. “Got it already.” She said biting her lip to not add anything else about seeming like a good parent onto the end of that statement. She didn’t need any more help in digging a hole.
“Orange of course, no point in red. It’s too... well harsh orange.” She joked laughing lightly, “So would you be the paint it blue type or does that mean it’s too much like work is calling you in?” She asked smiling as she listened to him tell her about Madison. From the way he spoke about her to the look on his face, she could see the two of them were close. Work or not partners went a long way which she could understand.
“I see so she has the keys to the jail cell to put you in it and break you out at the same time.” She joked as she smiled. For a meeting in the store, to some of the best food which beat home cooked Sienna was amazed. Good food and good company, what more could she ask for as she heard the question on the food.
“It’s amazing, I mean seriously amazing. You have very good taste.” Sienna stated as she smiled, “How’s yours?” She asked politely glancing over taking a second to just look at him and the table. This wasn’t how she saw her evening heading but she couldn’t deny she was enjoying every second of it so far.
