Loki was adjusting to his new life in Chicago pretty quickly, but he was still getting used to it. The city had so much going on all of the time and everything moved much faster than back in Conyers, which for his fast paced mind wasn't such a bad thing. Working as a cop in the city was a lot different than working as a cop back in Conyers too. It wasn't necessarily that Chicago had bigger crimes and bigger cases, no, it just had a lot more of them at a much faster pace and everything carried on with or without you. It felt like keep up or get out of the way to a point. Thankfully Loki was keeping up though, for the most part anyway. He was having a bit of trouble with a few of his new co-workers, things had gone from 'rib the newbie' and had turned to near office bullying because Loki's drive and determination was being mistaken by some for arrogance and vanity and a desire to 'be the best'. If they knew Loki they would have realized that was far from the truth, but even in a small place like Conyers where everyone knew everyone Loki had managed to keep himself somewhat of a mystery. So it wasn't surprising that people knew even less about him here and needed to get to know him better to be able to understand him. Apart from his partner Madison who he'd formed an uncharacteristically strong connection with from his first couple of weeks working with her, Loki had hardly made himself that many friends yet and needless to say hadn't made it onto the invitation list for drinks with the guys tonight. Not that it was all that bad, it wasn't as if everyone totally hated him or anything, he was just in a new precinct in a new town in a new city and he still needed to find his place and settle in. His co-workers would come around eventually he just needed to give it time and relax around them a little. But he had pushed all that to the back of his mind and didn't have to think about those co-workers until tomorrow. Right now he had finished work for the day and had gone to the store straight from work to pick up a few things. He had one hand on his cart while he held a bottle in his other hand and examined it, reading the label so intently that he didn't much notice anyone else around him. He was still dressed in his work clothes, almost so plain that it stood out in the near empty shopping aisle. Black work boots with black khaki pants and a rain coat that matched. Though his dark hair was styled with a slicked back undercut that hinted there were much more interesting layers under the surface. And the mysterious star tattoo on his neck half peeked out the top of his collar on his buttoned up shirt, that was such a pale shade of blue that it might as well have been white. Sienna had just finished work when she decided to go to the store. She needed a few things for dinner that evening and decided that take out was for another day. Her mind was still in work as it usually was as she walked around the store, her basket in hand as she picked up a few things. It might look odd the bottle of wine, kitchen towels, bleach and the basics for a stir-fry for one but still. It was her basket and you could usually tell what people were like from the items they had in their basket.
She didnt just cook out of the blue no Sienna was the sort that had things in advance but that day between work and forgetting she had managed to realise that the dinner she imagined. A stir fry she hadn’t got anything for at all. It was why she was in the store in the first place as she grabbed some of those essentials on her way around. Chicago was the same as ever, it was the place of a million possibilities and a million art crimes all in one day.
That day she had spent trying to convince a museum that the real deal had been bought by them and a the unfortunate dealer who had been trying to sell them a forgery had been duped himself. It was that or he was complicit but then Sienna had a good idea of the players in and around Chicago when it came to art fraud. Oh she kept the best of friends in the world, then again she was much like a cop except she didnt have their same rules to follow. She had a more free lance way of working but she could be arrested just the same.
Trade freedom for a three by six box and hope for the best. Instead her next task was getting around the store though she had time to kill and was in no hurry. It was while she was picking up a bottle of sauce that Sienna noticed the man stood in the plain clothes. Too plain for it to be plain she thought as she watched him study the bottle he had in his hand. There was interest in the ingredients and then there was this guy she thought trying to work out what his job might be.
Then again the clothes to the hair, the guy seemed interesting like the surface was just that. There was no what you see is what you got with him as Sienna wondered over to him. Even when she got closer and saw the hint of a tattoo, it wasnt so cut and dry she thought smiling. “Oh it goes really well with chicken if you are wondering, equally good with fish too but I’d stay away from the red meat with it.” Sienna stated smiling as she stood next to the man. “But that’s just my opinion. Is there something you’re looking for here?” Sienna asked knowing she didnt work there but still the man was a curiosity.

"I'm sorry, what?" Loki asked, looking up slowly as his attention came back to the world around him, only to be instantly struck by the attractiveness of the woman he saw standing before him. He gazed at her for a second with his magnetic, puppy dog eyes while he worked to slam his mouth into gear to give a reply, "Thanks. That's actually very helpful." Helpful advice or not Loki proceeded to put the bottle into his cart along with his razor blades, carton of milk and chicken for one with little motive other than the very pretty woman who had made the effort to walk over to him had recommended it. It wasn't often Loki was taken off guard with a woman and struck by that spark of attraction so instantly, but it happened occasionally, and this was one of those moments. 'Your phone number' He thought when she asked him if there was something he was looking for, but he refrained from uttering such a lame and clichéd pick up line. No he wasn't gonna be that stammering idiot with the cheese pick up lines. Though he did come close to stammering. "Um...rice and oil." He managed to get out, saying the first thing he could think of on his mental shopping list. He was more than capable of finding the items himself, but she had offered and it was a reason to keep talking to her. And he found himself wanting to talk to her. Maybe nothing would come of it but he was trying to settle in and make a life here in Chicago and meeting people had to be a part of that. "I'm Loki." He introduced. Hard blinking as he looked at her. "No relation to Thor." He added as light joke. His unusual name never really got a second thought from most people, unless they had an interest in Norse mythology. It wasn't until the Marvel movies had hit screens several years ago that the jokes and comments started. So he took the opportunity to use it to his advantage right now in attempt to gain a smile and break the ice. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

Sienna smiled hearing the question of what, oh he was more interested in the bottle than anything else which in itself was cute. Sienna just smiled at him, the man with those eyes, the sort of eyes that had her thinking of puppy eyes as she struggled to tear her gaze away. No she was being stupid, you didnt just stare at strangers in a store no she needed to remember her manors. “Thank you, I’m glad I can be helpful to someone.” She said smiling watching as he placed the bottle in his cart.
The man was interesting, okay so more than interesting he had something about him that was just... No she couldnt stare and drool in the middle of a store, what was even going through her mind as she wondered if she had seen too many Disney movies as a child. The store wasnt a castle and this man wasnt a knight on a horse or a prince in shining armour thought she was sure that if he did wear a tin suit of armour he would look just as hot in it.
Rice and oil, well she did ask she thought smiling to herself as she nodded. “Sure I can help you find that, I need noodles anyway.” She said smiling wondering why she was so keen to discuss her shopping. Oh she had lots of topics of conversation but none that were forming words in her mouth at all. Sienna wanted to talk to the man, then again full on stalking him around the store seemed a bit out of the question.
At least she got to go to the rice and oil section, that was a good thing. Unless he didnt need that and was trying to get rid of her? Sienna hadn’t been nervous about approaching him until she had done, now her mind was trying to over think everything involved which wasnt really helping matters. “Nice to meet you Loki.” Sienna said grinning as she laughed as his joke about Thor. She hadn’t really thought about the similarities until now, then again in the world of art Norse Mythology was pretty much, yeah she didnt need those images relating to the real life Loki.
She could stare at those paintings and art for hours then again, she could stare at the man himself for hours she thought trying not to act weird. “Well I’ve always preferred Loki to Thor anyway, he is misunderstood in a lot of ways and to me. Loki is the better brother so his name sake should be pretty amazing too.” Sienna said smiling though as soon as she had said that last part. Yeah someone throw a pineapple at her head for sense. “Oh I’m Kaye by the way.” Sienna said, “I mean Sienna or Kaye but Kaye’s my last name...” Sienna fumbled as she could feel herself turning a little red in the face.
The one time she sees a nice guy in a store and she has to go and mess it all up by giving her last name instead of her first. She really needed to work on the whole how not to approach people angle of her life. Or she was sure she’d be sending customers screaming from the store if this guy even stuck around to talk to her.

"Thanks. I need noodles too actually." He replied when Sienna said she would help him find the rice and oil while she looked for noodles. It seemed like they had similar taste in meal plans and if they both wanted noodles at least he could walk with her to the noodle aisle and would be able to keep talking to her for a few more minutes without it becoming weired like he was stalking her around the store like he was some over interested creep. He listened as she talked about the mythical Loki and how he was misunderstood. Sienna had no idea how much she had hit the nail on the head with that one. Loki was misunderstood by most people and had been since he was young. It wasn't that he didn't care about people or that he was too buttoned up to let his hair down. If anything he cared too much, he just tended to cared from a distance because that's the only way he knew how to do it. And he'd gone off the rails in his youth but now he had direction and purpose, he kept himself buttoned up as a way to keep everything inside and stop himself from slipping back into his old ways. But yeah, there was a lot about him that was misunderstood. Needless to say he was pleased to her her say she thought Loki was the better brother over Thor, " Thanks." A little smile grew on Loki's face as he watched Sienna seem to get all flustered over her own name, but he didn't laught at her by any means. It found it cute, and he hoped it was an indication that she maybe felt a spark of attraction towards him too. Then again maybe that was just wishful thinking. "It's nice to meet you, Sienna." He said with a full grown smile. Putting an end to her fumbling and using her name like nothing had happened so she wouldn't have to turn red any more than she already had. No he didn't want her getting embarrassed and running off. He had already established she had no wedding ring on her finger, he just needed to talk to her and find out if she was seeing anyone. Chances were a woman like her was already taken but Loki was the type to ask questions and find out the facts rather than running on assumptions. "So are you cooking Chinese, huh?" He asked casually as they headed towards the noodle and rice aisle, walking at a rather slow pace. He had noticed the things for a stir fry in her basket being as observant as he was, he'd also noticed the ingredients was only enough for one which he hoped was a good sign. Chinese food was his favorite and it's what he needed the rice and oil for, so at least that was some common ground that they had to start off with. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be “That’s great.” She replied smiling, thank you for the noodle isle she thought silently glad that it was there. It wasnt that she was overly crazy for noodles but getting to spend five more minutes with this guy, it was worth a trip to the noodle isle. At least they seemed to like the same thing as she glanced into his basket, it seemed he had a similar idea or maybe he was making it for his girlfriend but from what she could see it was a one person shop.
Sienna was used to shopping for one, it wasnt like she had much practice with two or more but then again between work and wanting to catch some sleep it wasnt like she had a super active social life. Despite her parents desire for it. Which brought her to the current state of events, meeting a guy in a store. One who seemed to be a lot more interesting than first glance, sure the clothes, neat, professional in a very working mans sort of way. Then the hint of the tattoo that had her wondering that maybe all wasnt as it appeared on the surface of things.
Be it she was used to investigating the frauds of life, or taking a look at something and trying to work out what was going on behind it but Loki was an interesting case. Sienna saw the little smile on his face, oh he was going to laugh at her she knew it. Then it would be a case of following each other around the store and inevitably being caught in that awkward queue to pay for the items, the mad dash outside and then likely smacking their cars into each other. Disaster waiting to happen though the more she thought about the awful points of him laughing when she couldnt even get her name out right.
She was astonished when he didnt, no maybe she was right first time there was something with this guy. Something she couldnt quite explain that had her wanting to hang around a store with him and take all the time in the world doing it. Seeing him smile, it felt like a lottery win to see that as his smile seemed to suit him well. How could she have found a nicer person not to laugh when getting her name out turned into a jumble of words as she smiled right back at him.
Sienna raised her brow at him at the mention of her cooking Chinese. “How did you...” She paused for a moment as she grinned, “What gave it away, the basket or the noodles?” She asked him smiling as she matched his pace, glad it was slow because she didnt want to hurry anything up at all. Nope, she was happy at a crawling pace if it gave her more time to talk with him. “But you’re right I am making stir fry tonight though what are you making... Razor blades, milk, chicken, rice and oil. Assuming no razor blades for a starter then I’m guessing you’re cooking Chinese too?” She asked him glad that they had found some common ground.
“So are you fan of Chinese or just something to throw together?” She added wanted to be sure as she glanced at his hand. No ring there, well might be single she thought though a man might not wear a ring she told herself as she almost wanted to kick her own backside. Maybe best to try and find out a little more solid information before jumping to the conclusion she thought.

“How did you...” One corner of his mouth curled into light smirk as he saw her expression. But it turned into a full smile when he saw her grin as she asked him if it was the basket or the noodles that had given it away. Oh her smile, it was like it made her glow twice as beautiful as she already was. "Both." He replied, still smiling as they walked along. "Plus I'm a detective so it wasn't hard to figure out." He said, using the opportunity to mention careers. After all weather and jobs were standard talking points, so it was a good way to try to make the conversation slightly more personal and hopefully find out what she did for a living and learn more about her. Loki chuckled lightly when she joked about razor blades for starters before she asked if he was cooking Chinese too. She obviously had a sense of humor which was just another point in her favor. " Yeah, no razor blades for starters. I'm cooking Chinese." Anyone else probably wouldn't of noticed Sienna looking at their hand, but Loki's mind was always going, watching and taking everything in meaning he caught the subtle glance. He suddenly found himself feeling awkward believing that she must have been looking at the tattoos he had on his fingers. Tattoos he would normally have discreetly concealed around someone like Sienna, but with his hands on the cart there wasn't anything he could really do. With the exception of his facial tick scoring a triple hard blink combo Loki kept his feelings of awkwardness from showing the best he could as he answered her other question. Though only people familiar with him tended to notice his tick increased with stress or anger. "Um both actually." Loki ate Chinese a lot, though he tended to eat it out the majority of the time given the hours he chose to worked. "Chinese is my favorite and it's easy to throw together a simple dish when you live alone." He looked at her as they sauntered along, "How about you?" He returned the question if Chinese was a favorite or simply just an easy option. He looked at her with another hard blink, "I'm David by the way." He said giving her his first name. Which was a sure sign to himself that he was interested, given the fact that he always intruded himself as 'Loki' or 'Detective Loki'. Heck, some of the people he worked with didn't know what his first name was until they asked him or read it on some paperwork. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Loki and that light smirk that seemed to make the world stand still for a moment. If the man got any better she would assume he was some sort of prince though even when he was guessing her dinner she was sure he was doing it in a way that had her smiling more than usual. She listened to his answer and the fact he was a detective, it wasnt like that didnt explain his correct guess as to her dinner plans. No he had managed to sniff that one out as she smiled and nodded.
“Ah well detective, I’d be a little disappointed if you had said pizza.” Sienna said grinning at him, “Nice to know there are good detectives in the city, I’m an insurance investigator for fine art. Not exactly a detective but I do get to investigate things. So tell me, what is it like to be a detective?” She asked deciding she wanted to know more about his job, she wasnt being nosey but then the more she found out about him the more of a puzzle she could figure out.
“So the question is detective are you copying my dinner choice for a reason?” She teased hearing that he was cooking Chinese too as she chuckled. “Or are you on some sort of stake out for the store?” Sienna asked though at times her mind could run away with itself far too easily. If he was on a stake out it wasnt like he would tell her as she realised it was likely the most idiotic thing she had said that day. Sienna distracted herself with Loki’s hand as she saw the tattoo’s on it, it was another trait she had no clue about.
Tattoos they were universal but the man seemed too buttoned up to be the tattoo parlour type. Then she saw the facial tick, Sienna didnt want to draw attention to it as she just smiled figuring that he might be a little nervous as he didnt seem like the outgoing type. She knew never to judge a book by its cover but this detective seemed to be a contradiction of himself. He was far too interesting to judge in just one look. “Well if it’s your favourite then why not.” She said smiling hearing that he lived alone, alone meant no wife or girlfriend but then if he didnt live with his girlfriend she couldnt make that jump to yet another conclusion.
“I do love Chinese and I live alone too so it’s quick and simple and won’t take me until midnight to make.” She said smiling as she realise that telling a complete stranger that she lived alone wasnt the best idea she ever had in life. “It’s lovely to meet you Detective David Loki. You are a very interesting person.” Sienna said smiling at him glad to know his first name. Sienna was used to her first name and her last name, it wasn’t used that much unless it was work and then usually it was Ms. Kaye.
“So David.” She said with a smile, “Tell me about your tattoos on your hands, what do they mean?” She asked curiously not sure if she had over stepped at all. “I mean only if you want to, no pressure or anything I just think its interesting artwork you have there, and you know me. I’m all about investigating artwork.” She said smiling as she held out her hand for his so she could take a closer look at the tattoos on his hand.

"Pizza's not bad, but it doesn't beat Chinese." Loki remind quiet, listening and studying Sienna as she talked. One corner of his mouth twitched in a light smile when she implied he was a good detective, but he didn't sat anything. Instead listening interestedly as she told him what she did for a living. "That sounds interesting." He wasn't just being polite, it genuinely sounded like intriguing work. "Police and civilian investigations aren't worlds apart. We both get puzzles that need to be solved." Loki's mind was build for puzzles, it was why he was so effective at his job and one of the reasons why he spent so many hours working. But the idea of Sienna having the puzzles without the dangers that came with having a gun and badge was interesting. Sure the types of cases they worked had several big differences with Loki working in the missing persons unit and Sienna working with fine art, but it meant she had an investigative mind which Loki found as attractive her beauty, if not more so. Loki appreciated good looks as much as the next guy, but he was without doubt an analytical thinker and his mind was always working and ticking over so being able to talk with someone and connect intellectually was much more important to him than physical attraction was. " Challenging but rewarding." Was his answer when she asked him what being a detective was like. There was a lot of complicated emotions and factors that came with the job but those three words about summed it up. After all Loki wasn't usually a man of many words. Which was yet another contradiction given how he always used words to control situations or to communicate that he cared. He was rather articulate really, just introverted at the same time. He let out a chuckle when Sienna asked if he was steaking out the store, taking it as a joke. He was hopeful to hear her say she lived alone and was cooking for one as well. Maybe she was single, but then he had to wonder why a pretty woman with an investigative mind would still be single. Maybe she was divorced? Then again maybe it was because she hadn't met him yet, though was that just wishful thinking again? But those thought disappeared along with the smile when she mentioned his Tattoos. Oh she had flat out asked about them and he felt his stomach tighten a little. He gently pulled his hand away when Sienna held out her hand for it. "Um.." He looked down at his tattoos for a second before looking back at her stoically, "Long story. They each symbolize something personal." Oh they were very personal and he wasn't ready to tell her about them. They represented stuff from his past, some of which he wasn't proud of. Sure he had changed his ways now but he still felt ashamed of the mistakes he had made and he didn't want to go into those details in the middle of a store, with a woman he hardly knew. No, someone had to be an important part of his life for him to tell about his past and his tattoos, and so far there was only a handful of people in the world Loki had told. Yeah so a neutral 'it's personal' was all he could give. People having an investigative mind cut both ways at times. Though he just shook it off the best he could, carrying on as normal and hoping he wouldn't have to make an excuse to run away. He didn't want to run away, he wanted to keep talking to the curious and inquisitive minded woman and find out more about her. Loki wasn't that easily shaken and it would take more than her asking about his tattoos out of her curiosity to make him run away. "So are you from Chicago?" He asked casually as they reached the noodle aisle and turned into it. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna smiled, there was just something about him that said he was a good detective. Not just the fact he guessed her meal from what was in her basket but she sensed that he cared. Not the sort of care that comes with a wage check at the end of the month. It wasnt that sort of care but the sort that meant he would try his best and he meant it. “Thanks but you don’t have to say that.” She said smiling when he spoke about her job, it wasnt exactly the life of cop she lead but she loved her work.
“Yes we do and there’s nothing better than a puzzle to be solved. I think the more puzzles you get the sharper your mind is, never a dull moment.” She said with a smile. Sienna loved her puzzles; it was the mystery of following leads. Tracking down the perpetrator and reuniting a person with their property or even just finding the rightful owners of it. To her those were the good cases, finding that painting worth millions and handing it right back to the family it belongs to.
Sienna enjoyed the thinking aspect, the analytical side that made things tick. It was facts and evidence, there was no room for fanciful ideas or random thoughts everything had its purpose and she enjoyed seeing that. Finding that aspect in someone else as well, it was rare and it was nice to know that David had that too. To her it made him attractive, even more so than his looks and the puzzle that he seemed to be.
“Now that is a job to love.” Sienna said smiling, “So what unit or department do you work in?” She asked curious as she had her own ideas but then leaping to a conclusion was wrong. Firstly she thought gangs because of that tattoos but then seeing him in a gang unit just seemed off. It wasnt that she didnt think he could, it was more to do with the person she saw under the tattoos. Maybe a specialised unit but then he didnt seem like S.W.A.T or cyber crime though if he wanted to tell her she figured he would.
Sienna could see as soon as the mention of his tattoos happened that she had hit a nerve of some kind. The smile that left him and the pull of his hand away from her, yes she hadn’t just made a friend she figured she had managed to light a firework under him and he’d run for the hills. She cursed herself silently wondering why she has to ask that, of course tattoos were personal, they were a persons own art. Why had she to open her mouth and question everything?
“I’m sorry David, I didnt mean to upset you.” Sienna said seriously, “I understand, I’m sorry for asking you I shouldn’t have but I guess I just ask a lot of questions normally and it translates into... everything else.” She tried to explain. “ I swear I can interrogate a melon of I had to.” Sienna felt like the floor should open up and just swallow her whole. At least that way she wouldnt make any more mistakes or before the guy threw noodles at her and told her she was insane.
She expected him to walk off, maybe even call security on her or the cops which meant being pulled over for the rest of her life for freaking out a detective in a store. Sienna closed her eyes for a moment, she thought when she opened them he would be gone but before she had even managed to look in his direction she heard his voice asking her about Chicago. Looking at Loki as if he should have run off Sienna smiled glad he wasnt scared off too easily.
“Yes, I’ve lived here all my life. Moved around a lot after university for work and then managed to stay after getting a job here. I still travel a lot so Chicago is home even If I dont get to see it as often as I’d like.” Sienna explains smiling. “What about you, Chicago native?” She asks glad that he is still there.

It wasn't often Loki was taken with a woman but there was something about Sienna as he watched her. Even in the artificial light of the store her features had a beautiful quality to them with each of her little movements and mannerisms. She was beautiful yes, but there was also something magnetic about her that drew Loki to her as well. The small expressions on her face and the interested tone in her voice as she talked about puzzles told Loki that there was more to Sienna than just physical attractiveness. He smiled a little on the inside as she said about how puzzles sharpen the mind, it told him that she was someone he'd be able to talk too and not just look at. Which was what he looked for in a woman and what cemented in his mind that he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to ask this woman out. "I work in the Missing Persons Unit." He replied simply. He looked at her when she apologized. Honestly it was nice hearing her call him David, not many people used his first name by his own design, but hearing her use it was nice. And seeing that she cared when she thought she had upset him was nice too. "There's no need to apologize. It's a normal question." He said glancing at the tattoos on his hand again. The question made him uncomfortable for a moment but it hadn't upset him. 'What do your tattoos mean' was a normal question and it wasn't like she asked anything that went over the line. He looked at her, meeting her eyes casually. "I'm not upset." He assured her. He smiled a little when she explained that she asked a lot of questions, having a very inquisitive mind himself he saw it as a positive trait in her rather than a negative one. And her melon comment just made him grin, lightening the air again.
"That's not necessarily a bad thing." He said leaning on his trolley as they stopped in front of the noodles. He shook his head when she asked him if he was a native, "Transfered here from Pennsylvania."He reached out and threw a packet of noodles into his trolley, before they moved a few feet down to grab the rice and the oil. Knowing they didn't have much time before they would have to part Loki looked at Sienna before the moment got away, "If your not seeing anybody would you like to go out sometime? Maybe get some real chines food." He asked confidently. Loki wasn't big headed or arrogant, but if she was going to say yes then she was going to say yes and if she was going to say no then she was going to say no so he didn't see a point in beating around the bush and getting all bashful about asking. [googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be Sienna was enjoying talking to Loki, he seemed kind, intelligent, smart, funny and handsome which didnt hurt things at all. The fact he worked in the missing persons unit as well spoke a lot about his character to her. He did the good thing, he looked for those who needed help and that said a lot of good about him. “Very noble and interesting work.” She said smiling though when the question of tattoos came up, Sienna was nervous that she had overstepped the mark a lot with that.
Questions she was used to and without thinking much on it, she had managed to plough herself into a dilemma. “Thank you but normal, it’s a person question I should have thought more before asking.” She admitted though he was an interesting guy. The kind of guy that had artwork that might speak volumes as to who he was as a person. Every painting and sculpture had a story to tell so a persons artwork did too. “Good to hear, I wouldn’t want to upset you. It just... I’m a curious person by nature.” She said smiling glad to see the grin on his face about her comment.
“Depends on the view point but if I start coming in to the police station saying the melon did it. You’ve my permission to lock me up for insanity.” She added grinning as they arrived at the noddles. Sienna picked up a packet and added it to her basket as she nodded listening to David. “Pennsylvania, I’ve never been there.” She mused lightly, “So what made you pick Chicago over Pennsylvania?” She asked before realising that she was doing her interrogating again. Honestly he probably never thought there’d be some crazy woman asking him the who, why’s and where’s of life when he just wanted a meal for dinner.
Sienna took to following Loki down to the rice and oil as she heard him ask her out. The confidence there stunned her for a moment as she spluttered trying to form a sentence or just a word. Yes would have been great because from their brief encounter, Loki seemed fantastic but a babble of what mixed with how Chinese food was great spilled out. She hadn’t expected him to just out and ask her though what she expected she wasnt even sure as she nodded smiling.
“Yes I am... I mean yes to the going out sometime and no I’m not seeing anybody.” She tried to explain as she grabbed a tin of water chestnuts from the shelf hoping to temporarily distract herself from talking anymore gibberish. “Or if you wanted to, since you’re making a meal for one and so am I. We could go and get some real Chinese food for dinner if you wanted? Just if you had time or didnt have to be anywhere else?” She asked unsure if she was being too forward but a stir fry could keep until the next day and it wasnt as if she had any major plus one dinner events. It was usually just her and the tv.

Loki was good at reading people and from the short time he had spent walking around the store with Sienna he could see she was an intelligent woman with a curious mind and a good sense of humor, not to mention she was cute when she was all awkward and flustered. She was definitely the kind of woman he wanted to spend time getting to know. Again he was amused when Sienna gave him permission to lock her up if she ever pointed the finger of accusation at a melon. Honestly he didn't usually smile as much in one week as he had since he'd been talking to her. He nodded as if making a mental note of her consent, hard blinking as he did so, "Well technically I would only have the power to put you under a 72 hour psychiatric hold." He joked, albeit with the dry sense of humor of his. Loki did have a dry sense of humor and not everybody got it at first, not that he even joked all that much. Not unless he got into it with his partner Madison anyway. Honestly the two of them could joke and rib each other with such deadpan tones that anyone who overheard them would think they were bickering. "Transfer." Was his one word answer when she asked why he had moved. "An opening came up. It was a good opportunity so I took it." Loki stopped a little smirk from forming in the corner of his mouth as Sienna babbled and stammered when he asked her out. There was the awkward and flustered cutness again. “Yes I am... I mean yes to the going out sometime and no I’m not seeing anybody.” "Well that's good to hear." He said as she put a tin in her basket, "I'm not seeing anyone either." He added neutrally. Then it was his turn to be surprised when she suggested they go for Chinese instead of them both heading home to cooking a meal for one, "Um, uh yeah." He replied. He was hoping she'd say yes to going out, he just didn't expect it to happen so instantly. But it wasn't like he had any plans so he wasn't going to argue. "Sure." He pulled his pen and notepad from this inside pocket and hard blinked again as wrote down the address of the restaurant. "Meet you there?" He asked, handing her the page once he had torn it out. [googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] Look Beneath The Surface For Everything It Can Be His smile was utterly captivating, the sort of smile she wouldnt ever tire of seeing at all. Making him smile, well that was even more fun and she couldnt help but laugh when he spoke about the seventy two hour hold. “I think that seventy two hours would be long enough for whoever had to look into my case to need psychiatric help.” She joked grinning, “You sure you want to take that risk? Besides I think the melon could handle its self.” Now she really had no clue where things were going at all as she just smiled at him. Then again, it wouldnt be too bad being arrested by him though the thought was pushed from her mind.
Don’t even go there she thought, mind in the present and it wasnt like she would start doing anything illegal to set that in motion at all. It was nice to be able to joke with an adult for a change, not talk about the theft in the next room or make a joke about a painting that could be taken the wrong way. It wasnt the first time she had managed to say that one joke that maybe should have stayed within the confines of her mind.
As the conversation turned to his transfer Sienna smiled and nodded. “Well I’m glad you took the opportunity, Chicago is a wonderful place and it grows on you too.” She added grinning though the asking her out part of things threw her for six. It wasnt that she didnt want him to but she didnt think he would so soon, then again what was wrong with going after what you wanted in life. Had she been off her game that much lately? Still it wasnt like she expected to be asked out in the middle of the noodle isle.
Sienna breathed a sigh of relief hearing that he wasnt seeing anyone else, knowing her luck David would have come out with the, ‘is it okay that I’m married’ line or a ‘I have a girlfriend, she’s out of town and I’m just looking for fun’. She had fallen fowl of those a few times in her life and been on the receiving end of a ‘hey that’s not me in our bed’ kind of situation so getting involved with an involved person. Yeah it wasnt really on her to do list for the day.
The breath she had been holding once more was let go when he agreed to meeting for Chinese, it made sense in a way though she wasnt sure if it was too fast or just common sense. Either way when he wrote down the address of the restaurant Sienna smiled at him. Taking the page he had torn out of his notepad she nodded. “Sure, will me you there.” She replied beaming at him, trying not to panic in the moment she realised she was entirely unprepared for a date as such. It was a case of run home and tear apart her wardrobe to find something suitable.

"I like it here so far." Chicago didn't really need to grow on Loki that much, he liked it as soon as he arrived. The city ran at a much faster pace that the backwaters where he was from and life in the fast lane suited him. The case loads were much more demanding and the job required him to apply his mind, and he was in his element. He smiled when she took the address and said she'd meet him there. Wow she looked radiant with that beaming smile. "Okay." He gave half a nod. "I'll meet you there." He said, looking at her as he slowly began to push his trolley away. "Eight o'clock." Once they had parted ways Loki made a quick job of finishing his shop before he headed home to get ready. After placing his groceries in the kitchen he headed upstairs to his bedroom. Going to his wardrobe he selected a pair of dark pants, a white shirt and a gray crew neck sweater which he laid out on the end of his bed. He took a shower before getting dressed, and afterhe he slicked his hair back in it's usual style once again he was ready to go. He arrived at the restaurant promptly and punctually. Loki wasn't one to be late and he wasn't going to start now. No he wanted to make a good impression on this woman and tardiness on his part wasn't going to happen. Once he had parked up Loki headed inside and asked for seating for two. The hostess guided him to his table and he took a seat. He looked at the clock on the far wall opposite him and it wasn't eight yet, he started to bounce his knee under the table in a small but rapid motion as he watched the second hand tick. He just hoped that Sienna would show up. Tag: Sienna Kaye . |
