Down the hall and to the right, Fin knew his way to this place like the back of his hand. The familiar apartment. He had taken over from his boss who had raised a hand to the woman for lack of payment. The one thing he knew was that you never hit someone who obviously had no means to pay. The brutality of his boss was astonishing to him at times so to give the woman a break, he took on her contract. She paid what she could and sure there were stern words spoken but nothing else and no extra. It was a simple exchange which was what he expected when he knocked on her door. The same time every second week, this was no different as he stood and waited for the door to open and the usual envelope shoved into his hands. This time it was different, the door was ajar and any door that was ajar meant trouble. Trouble only got worse when the neighbour opened his door and mentioned something about the police and looked paler than a ghost. Fin knew that better judgement might have been used to walk away right then to forget about the reason he was there and just leave but no. He never really did have a better judgement as he pushed the door open. The first thing he saw was the fragments of a vase he knew sat on the table by the door. A table that was now in the middle of the hallway with a broken leg and splinters over the carpet. It took him less than a few moments to see his client sprawled on the sofa, lifeless in appearance with a man stood over her. Fin could see she had been beaten and who knew what else as the man seemed to snap out of it the minute he saw Fin glaring at him. The fact he knew the police were on their way made no different to him as Fin seized the man by the collar and practically threw him across the living room. He heard the crash as he sent the man flying into a glass cabinet. Fin reached out his practiced hand and felt for a pulse on the woman, he felt nothing with only enraged him further. Fin had listened to the woman’s story, fallen on hard times, asked the wrong guy for a loan and this was what her life had come to. Three more payments and her debt was clear, three more and she could go on to live a happy life. A life now lost thanks to this guy that charged at him only to be met by fist after fist. Fin hardly paid attention to the sirens as he threw the guy around the apartment. There was no mercy or slowing down, wall, floor, sideboard, glass vase across the head. It was all the same to him as he wanted to break the man into pieces for what he had done. He could only imagine what had been done to the woman but she never deserved it and this guy would pay for it. He thought as he kept raining blow after blow down on the guy, even as he tried to crawl to the door Fin dragged him by the foot back into the middle of the living room to feel even half of what the woman would have felt. [attr="class","atar"] The dead guy was a suspect in Amanda’s case. He was actually wanted for various sex crimes, or at least wanted enough that Amanda and her partner had a warrant for the arrest of said guy. Amanda found the door cracked open and she drew her weapon going inside indicating for Tony to follow her. “Clear” she called as she swept room to room. Though no sooner did she enter the living room she had her gun pointed at Fin as she surveyed the room. Quickly holstering her weapon she let out an audible sigh. If Fin was in here, there was no way anyone else was in this house. What was he even doing?
Just what she needed a crime scene in the middle of where her search warrant was. This was going to be hell to explain to her partner. Amanda’s face paled and she tried to gain her bearings. “Don’t make me arrest you for interfering with a police investigation, just… talk to me.” No, she wasn’t even going to think Fin was responsible for killing her suspect. Amanda did not want to have to arrest her boyfriend. Amanda covered up her emotions well, though it would lead to quite a few drinks later. Fin knowing most of the bookies in town made it dangerous for her to gamble anymore, so she’d taken up drinking. “Romano!” she called from where she was. “Go search upstairs. I will be right up.” If she was going to keep anyone out of jail, she was going to have to prove the dead guy did his crimes and that Fin was defending the woman or something. No, she got this. Amanda stole a glance in her partners direction. “I got this.” There was a half smile. The kind of smile that meant she was trying to convince herself that this wasn’t happening.
Amanda took a few steps in Fin’s direction careful where she stepped and looked towards Fin once she was right beside him. “Tell me what happened and for cotton’s sake don’t lie to me.” Cotton’s sake was a more colloquial phrase where she had grown up. It was all she could do to keep from cursing him out. Amanda wanted this day to end and it had barely begun. | Rollins @fin Colloquialism means for pete's sake |

Clear, that one word that announced the arrival of cops. Cops that undoubtedly had a million questions and Fin was hardly in a mood to answer any of them. Fin turned only to find a gun in his face, for a second or two he just stared down the barrel. He could see the gun but not much else until he saw Amanda’s face. Crap. He had never been so unhappy to see her but this was one of those, I’ll take anyone else but you times. Fin tried to crack a smile at her though when he heard her warn him about being arrested. “Talk to you when you’re waving a gun in my face. Yeah great idea.” Fin replied trying not to be mad, he had hardly done this deliberately he just wanted to do his own job. Even seeing her face pale Fin jumped to the only conclusion he could do as he glanced around. “Do you really think I could do this?” He asked her before he saw the over turned table, smashed glass, book case ruined. Well okay he had to take the blame for some of that but it was in the woman’s defence so that counted as a good deed. “Who’s Romano?” Fin asked before his question was answered seeing another cop appear with a stone faced look. “Rollins, you just shoot him if you have to.” Romano stated before glaring and heading off upstairs to search there.”You sure because I can stay.” Romano added before he figured Rollins might shoot him and he was hardly going to give Olivia the joy in having that reported. No her half smile, she had to be okay with it he thought as he backed off and headed upstairs keeping an ear out. Fin smiled though he regretted it when he felt his face hurt; sure the guy hardly took what he had given out lying down. It was cute her cotton’s sake colloquial phrase. “Why so you can pin it on me anyway or just shoot me where I am?” Fin asked, “Looks like you might have made up your mind already. Since when have I lied to you?” Fin was hardly a cops fan and being with Amanda was a new thing to him. He was trying to work out where things stood but when it was like this, yes he was on edge and defensive about what he was doing. “But she’s needs an ambulance, she’s unconscious lucky for her.” Fin said motioning toward the woman on the couch. “Him.” Fin pointed to the man sprawled on the floor, “Ambulance but I’d rather it ran him over on the way to save someone else.” He added deciding he would at least get that point across. “And what are you doing here?” Fin asked her though he had no right to know that what so ever but it never stopped him from asking it. [attr="class","atar"] Amanda had already put her gun away when Fin started going off on her about waving a gun around. “It’s procedure for coming into a room where you don’t know who might be in the house. I’m not gonna shoot you.” No Amanda wouldn’t shoot her boyfriend. But he was being difficult. It wasn’t like she could tell him anything about the case. “No, but it’s my job to cover everything. This is my case Fin.” Then Fin asked about her partner.
“I don’t need to shoot him.” Amanda rolled her eyes, yeah her partner was a piece of work. Even Olivia’s warning label was over exaggerated. “It’s alright. We are just gonna talk. I got it handled Tony. Thanks.” Amanda was glad that Tony just went searching upstairs and left her to talk to Fin. She didn’t think that Fin would say much in front of her partner. Though she also didn’t want Tony to make any irrational snap decisions on Fin.
“I’m not trying to put anything on you. You were here. You are a witness.” She was frustrated now, he wasn’t even going to help her rule him out of this mess. Amanda just pulled out a phone to call for two ambulances. She was straightforward over the phone giving her badge information and the nature of the incident. Amanda put her gloves on and started trying to put pieces together. “Just don’t touch anything.” She stated bluntly as she started trying to figure things out. So help her, if he wasn’t going to help her. “You only get out of here two ways Fin.” She stated looking up. “You talk to me about what happens or we have to arrest you with interfering with an investigation until we can prove you didn’t have anything to do with this mess.” Amanda picked up a vase that looked like it had been thrown. Amanda knew where stuff was in this apartment. “He is my suspect, she is my victim, and you are looking at assault charges if I can’t figure out what the hell happened here Fin. It’s not a question of whether or not I believe you. It’s what I can prove.” Amanda had never felt more caught up between getting to the truth and wishing this was someone else’s case right now. Anyone else would have arrested Fin on the spot. Amanda was trying to give him a chance to explain himself, especially since he hadn’t run. E | Rollins @fin notes |

Fin found it hard to argue against procedure if it was that and if it had the same effect on him as it might do others. Fin was all for it if it could save Amanda’s life then again it just highlighted how dangerous her job actually was. “Could have fooled me.” Fin grumbled though he was happy not to have been shot by her. “Your case, seriously of all the cops in Chicago this is your case.” Fin almost wanted to hit his own head off a wall hearing that, not that his girlfriend had cases but that she was on this case. Tony just raised his brow, “I would have done.” He stated simply, sure everyone was aware of his anger issues and his general lack of patience but then this was his job. If he had to pull a trigger he would do it. “Uh hmmmm.” Tony said as he wondered upstairs making sure to ask Amanda all the details of how she knew the guy stood in their crime scene right now. Yes the lawyers were just going to love that one and the last thing he wanted was an issue with the case. Being new and all to the team in Chicago he wanted a good result. Tony was already making judgements, like drug dealer, local pimp the usual sorts of assumptions. “A witness, yes I am a witness and I saw a lot but the way you’re talking it’s as if I’ve done this.” Fin stated trying not to get frustrated or annoyed but what could be more straight forward than what he could see. The woman had been hurt by the guy he had hauled off her and thrown around the room for it. Fin raised his brow seeing Amanda put gloves on when he got his warning not to touch anything. “Urm, I may have touched a lot of things already.” Fin stated as he pointed to the woman, “I touched her neck, that plate, that table, cabinet, photo frame....” He offered not wanting to make a big deal out of it but his prints would be around the place. Even from his last few visits he guessed depending on how well the victim cleaned her house. Fin glanced at the door as he considered making a run for it, he might have done if Amanda’s partner had been absent. “Oh so you do think I did it, you just want me to prove otherwise.” Fin snapped as he rolled his eyes, “That wasn’t me either before you pin breaking a vase on me too.” He added, well it was at least one thing that was broken when he got here. “Assault, this wasn’t even a love tap. What about him? He was the one assaulting her, she’s a lovely woman and does not deserve any of this.” Fin said as he hauled the man to his feet. “This is the perpetrator, the one you want, the person that ‘did it’.” Fin let go of the guy as he watched him crumble back to the floor, he was about to add that he hoped it hurt the guy but then with cops around. No better to try and prove his innocence which he knew he was beyond raising his hands to the guy but it was in defence of the victim. “What are you talking about proving anything, I didn’t hurt the woman. I was here to visit her to check in on her.” Fin said, well it sounded a lot better than to say he was on a collection run though he had no doubt Amanda would understand why he was there assuming the woman had the cash in the apartment. “You believe me right?” Fin asked Amanda staring at her as he wanted to believe she would know he was innocent. “I would never hurt her... him on the other hand. Yeah I did that in her defence and he kept coming back. What did you expect me to do, just stand there and let it happen?” Fin asked her almost wanted to plead his whole case out right there. So he understood how it might look from the outside but Fin knew he would never do anything like that. Sure he had done his own fair share of beatings but never on a woman, he might not be the most reputable person but he had his own moral code to follow. Amanda Rollins,

[attr="class","atar"] “Yes this is my case” Amanda stated. “And I want to make sure that he” she pointed at the guy who was pretty mangled up, “goes away. Legally, I now have to prove you didn’t do this first.” She knew how it sounded, but she was also trying to talk cop logic to her boyfriend. That didn’t go over well. Right now, she was wishing Tony hadn’t listened to her and that she had someone to play good cop bad cop with. Maybe taking a stand against her boyfriend alone was a bad idea. But she thought, he’d understand. How wrong she was.
“What I think and what the law will make me prove are too totally different things. He said, she said is worth jack all in court Finley!” She continued with her job. “Yeah well that’s why we need your fingerprints or they WILL peg you for a suspect.” Him being belligerent wasn’t helping his case any. “You are a witness. Your word in court and your honesty will go along way in putting him” She pointed at the guy again, “behind bars.” She decided she was trying to argue a point that would never happen.
“Romano!” She called up the stairs. “I found something.” She pulled a camera out of the corner that had been knocked over presumably by the vase. She started unattaching it from the wall. It had a memory card inside of it. She looked towards Finley as she waited on her her partner to come down the stairs.
Amanda saw Fin trying to pick the drunken guy off his feet, she set the video card down and went to pin Fin against the wall. “Sit down or I will cuff you.” She was ignoring the girlfriend side of things, she had a job to do. Amanda looked towards Tony and kept pressure on Fin’s shoulder to keep him against the wall. Hostile witnesses were not her favorite thing to deal with. “On second thought.” Amanda took her cuffs out and put them on Fin. “You are not under arrest but you are being detained for questioning in regards to what you saw. You are coming down to the station.” This made her not want to go home.
“It’s not as simple as me believing you.” She paused as she pulled her fingers out of the cuffs from making sure they weren't too tight. “But for the record, yes.” Amanda yanked the cuffs in a downward motion. “Now sit.” She took a few breaths. This whole mess was getting to her. Given Fin was here, she wondered which of the two was knee deep in gambling debts. Or maybe they had taken out loans from him for something else. Amanda went back to what she was doing as she looked to her partner.
Her face to Tony she knew was far less schooled than the one she had with Fin. “Tony,” She took the card off the table and handed it to him. “Depending on how long that was running, we might have this guy dead to rights.” She pointed at the guy on the floor. “We can probably call CSI in here to get the fingerprints. Let them know we have a contaminated crime scene. This place is a mess but I think this might be all we need for now.” She reached around Tony’s waist and grabbed his cuffs as she cuffed the guy on the floor. Paramedics came in and Amanda moved out of their way. “Give me just a minute and I’ll be down? We can talk to these two when they wake up.”
She indicated Fin with her head. “This one has information. Coupled with the tape her may be able to nail Jeff this time without the political red tape that he snaked through last time.” Yeah, like she was going to get anywhere with her boyfriend. Though she might be the only one who could. Except he was mad at her. Yeah, well she wasn’t taking him to interrogation. Just the conference room to talk. | Rollins @fin notes |

Legally, she had to prove it. Fin was hardly a fan of legal as where was the legal side of things when the loan shark had broken his father’s leg. There was no legal side to that and now his girlfriend was ‘legally’ trying to prove he had nothing to do with a beating or rape or really he could only imagine what the female had been through. Cop logic, there was no such thing in his mind but Amanda stood there even with a hint of doubt that he could have done such a thing. No it was unacceptable as he tried to think of any moment in their past that he could have given her such a thought. Yes, regardless of the fact he was in the middle of her crime scene. Then the use of his entire name, Finlay. Well if he had been any place else it might have had a better effect than just the annoyance and disappointment he felt. “Or you just peg me a suspect anyway because you have my finger prints. I’ve seen how it works, and legally... yeah you can have whatever you need from me Detective Rollins. I wouldn’t want to make you think any worse of me but looks like I it would take some doing so far.” Fin snapped back deciding yes he was going to argue with her over it because it made sense to do that. Tony heard Amanda call for him as he raced down the stairs after checking a few of the rooms out upstairs. “What’ve you got?” He asked her as he saw the camera she had pulled from the wall. Well that was a good start to things, this woman had her own in house CCTV which made a cops life so much easier when the perp was on film doing all the things he could get arrested for. Then again as he glanced toward this guy Amanda knew, he was looking good for it all in his eyes unless the evidence said differently. Tony watched Fin and Amanda as he grinned the minute Amanda cuffed the guy. “In my mind you should have done that from the start but never too late right.” Tony said grinning at her, “If in doubt drag em down to the station, we can maybe use this cage I’ve heard so much about from Intelligence.” Tony added thoughtfully deciding he was enjoying hearing all the stories from the twenty first. Fin just glared at Amanda, oh he would dare her to cuff him though when she did and she kept the pressure on his shoulder. No there was no messing around with that. “Are you serious right now? He did it, what do you need me to do beat a confession out of the guy?” Fin asked hardly believing Amanda had used cuffs on him. If this was payback for their bedroom activities then he was in trouble though the one thing he disliked it was being restrained himself. It reminded him too much of being trapped, being stuck on that stretcher, the transport after the accident and not being able to move. Yes it was only his wrists but the message was still there. Even when Amanda explained and yanked the cuffs in the downward motion he glared. “Sit, yes Ma’am.” He said in most practiced disapproving tone he could manage. Tony took the card that Amanda handed to him as he nodded to her. “Sure, let those guys go through this mess and we might not need too much of the DNA or footprints if we have it on tape.” He added as Tony took a step back to let the medics do their thing and work away. “Sure I’ll be in the car and then once we’re back we can take a look at this tape. Fingers cross for a little luck. Yeah Jeff isn’t going to be getting away this time.” Tony said as he walked toward the door. “Call me if you need me Rollins.” He added glaring at Fin on the way out as he made his way to the car. Fin barely looked at Amanda; he hardly knew what to say to her other than there was no way he could have done this. Yes he had done a great many things; yes he had broken his fair share of bones in Chicago but a woman. No and for his own girlfriend to think it. Where had he gone wrong with this? “Do I need a lawyer?” He asked though he still kept his eyes on the floor from where he was sitting as he fiddled with the cuffs around his wrists that were now making him feel uncomfortable. Even the fact she had cuffed him was a change in their usual dynamic, did she really think he would hurt her? Well that was a no, only the guy who was unconscious and he still wanted to beat to a pulp for what had been done. Amanda Rollins,

[attr="class","atar"] Fin wasn’t helping his case when Romano came wandering in. Amanda caught the glance from her partner. “He’s a witness. He didn’t do anything.” She turned around and shot Fin a look before turning to her partner. “He’s being difficult. I’m still trying to get him to talk to me.” Her body and tone suggested that she really didn’t think that Fin did anything wrong. She didn’t want to get into the whole thick of things with her partner right now at least not in front of Fin. “I still think Jeff’s the one responsible.” Amanda looked towards her partner. “We can discuss the rest of things later.” Yeah discussing things in front of Fin was a bad idea.
“I’m not putting him in a cage Tony." She glanced over her shoulder as she loosened the cuffs one finger notch, knowing that Fin couldn’t get out but also they would be a bit more loose right now. Then there was back to Fin hollering at her. “Yes, I am serious right now. I’m trying to help you Fin.” She waved the medics into the scene to take the Jeff and Darla to the hospital. Amanda was glad when he sat down. She decided to overlook his tone. Amanda felt bad for things having gone this way but what more could she do to protect him?
Amanda let Tony reel off his rocker but when he left the room she headed back towards Fin asking about a lawyer. “No, you don’t. But if it makes you feel better I can call a lawyer friend to come sit in while we talk? You aren’t under arrest Fin.” She reached her hands behind him to keep him from fidgeting. Amanda lips kissed his briefly. “I need you to trust me.” Yeah she didn’t feel like he trusted her too much to handle this and get him out of this mess free and clear.
“I’ll take these off if you promise to come to my office and just talk to me.” She pressed her forehead against his. “I know you didn’t do this. I will prove this with or without your help, but if you would be less difficult this would be easier on both of us.” She repeated herself again. “Please trust me.” Amanda knew this was going to try their relationship but she needed certain things that he wasn’t willing to give. | Rollins @fin notes |

Romano rolled his eyes, “Yeah yeah, let’s hear the next guilty party say that too.” He added though he trusted Amanda because Benson trusted her so if she said he did nothing. Then it had to be right to some degree. “Jeff, yeah I believe that too I just hope we have the evidence to put the guy away this time.” Tony hated when people got to skate on the technicalities that only lawyers could find. No this time they had to nail the guy to the wall or the cell or really anything they could do to make sure he paid for what he had done. “Why not... I’m dying to try it out. Do they used the phone book or just the car battery here?” Tony asked grinning for a second though sure leaving the room was likely the smart move before his partner shot him. Then called it self defence from his own mouth, no better to still have a partner at the end of the day. Fin saw her look as Amanda tried to deal with her partner. He was being difficult because she thought that he might have done it, would she not be difficult if the roles were reversed? He could see that her body language said otherwise but Fin wanted to be sure Amanda knew it was right, knew that he had nothing to do with it. Then her partner went off about a cage and a phone book, oh how original. He had better tools for making people talk in his apartment. Then again telling Amanda that was different to telling an unknown person that. Still even telling Amanda that now was likely only going to colour her opinion more on what sort of person he was. When she loosened the cuffs Fin took a relieved breath, it hardly solved the issue but not having them so tight was a blessing if there ever was one. “Into a jail cell or out of one?” Fin asked her when she mentioned trying to help him. He was being an ass but he was paid to be one and being in this position was hardly something he was accustomed to. Fin nodded when Amanda said he could forgo the call to a lawyer though she had friend who could sit in. Thanks but no he thought, no use in dragging anyone else into their business. Fin was trying to trust her, he did trust her more than most people but this was a different set of circumstances. She was a cop and he was there for some not to legal means. Trust was fragile when it came to their works and Fin never really said much about his though given Amanda had been a client of his. She knew more than she should do for a cop already. “Trust you, you cuffed me for no reason.” Fin protested though her hands stopped him from fidgeting too much and her kiss, how could he be mad at her when she kissed him. “You’re still not playing fair.” He muttered deciding he had no other option but to trust her and see what she could do to get him out of this. When Amanda offered to take off the cuffs if he spoke to her and went to her office, there really was no choice in it at all. No Fin hated his hands being tied so yes he would have agreed to a jail cell for a month if it meant he could move freely. Even with her forehead pressed again his Fin took a breath as he nodded to her. “I trust you just please take these off Amanda.” He asked her usually never saying please, his tone reflected his unease with the situation. “I’ll talk, I’ll do whatever you need me to do at your office just get the cuffs of me. Please.” He asked her as he set to kissing her lips a little frantically. He had never really spoken to her about his past, there was never any need to because he was usually the one in control of their bedroom activities and meeting as a cop and criminal. Well this was just all mixed up though the one thing he hated was being immobilised in any way. Fin was not the most avid talker about himself but maybe he needed to explain at a better time though first thing was first. He wanted out of the cuffs and would do anything to get to that point. Sing like a canary about the day so far so be it, he just wanted her to take them off him. Amanda Rollins,

[attr="class","Amandaner"] [attr="class","Amandaner1"] [attr="class","Amandaback"] [attr="class","Amandanert"] Amanda looked towards Tony, it wasn’t worth the bickering to explain Fin. “We will get him Tony; we’ve been after him too long not to.” So help her if Fin decided to throw away all her hard work in this case, and Tony’s too for that matter. The comments about the car battery and and phone books she wanted to wring his neck. Yeah, no at the end of the day she needed her partner as much as he needed her. Then there was the jail cell question. Amanda had never felt so distrusted by a significant other in her life. But it wasn’t like she could just walk away. Her debt was paid, but for how long? Until she decided to break up with him? Until she had to look the other way when doing her job? She was brought out her list of never ending questions in her head when he bantered about being in cuffs for no reason. No, Amanda didn’t cuff him in the bedroom. But real life and bedroom play were two totally separate things. She somehow wished this whole case would just go away. Though she knew it wouldn’t. He was begging to be let out of the cuffs. “No interrogation rooms. I just want to talk Fin. It just has to be an official talk. That’s all. Something I can use to get the man who did this babe.” She played with his hair some. Amanda had every reason to walk off this case. She was still considering it as she reached for the handcuffs. “We had better; I’m not letting this guy walk away from us again.” Tony said, sure that he would do whatever it took to make sure that was never going to happen. Even if he had to throw a phone book or two at Amanda’s new crime scene friend he would make sure they got their guy. They had worked too hard and too long on this for anyone to mess it up now. There was no rebuild, no second best just what they had and getting the evidence was all that mattered.
Fin had never really done a serious relationship since he had received his medical discharge from the military. The entire relationship thing was new to him and distrusting people, he knew what trust did to people to distrusting them was just an easier thing to do. It had been going great so far as he knew between them so of course now he thought that there was an ulterior motive to it all. A good bust for a cop and he had just been strung along. No he knew that was hardly the case but a cop saying we need to talk, jail was usually involved for a guy like him.
Fin would never hold her debt against her, even if she did leave he would make sure it was paid and no one else bothered her. He cared about her, loved her but then with all of this going on and him sitting there in cuffs it was tough to see the love and trust anywhere near anything. “I’ll tell you anything you need to know babe, just please.” Fin said as he saw her hands reach for the handcuffs. He had never been so relieved in his life to believe that she would take those off him. Give some to get some he thought as he decided to say what he knew.
“Amanda I came here to... check on a friend.” He said knowing full well she would know why he was there in the first place. “When I got here the door was open, the neighbour saw me come in.” Fin began trying to distract himself until his hands were free. “I saw the mess, the vase, glass, splinters from the hallway table. He was stood over here when I walked in. He had beaten her Amanda; she would never have hurt a fly.”
Fin hardly knew the woman but you could tell the kind, you could tell the good from the bad and a woman who had just fallen onto tough times. She was that sort of woman. “He saw me and then... I just couldn’t stand there and let him finish whatever he was standing over her thinking about. So yeah, he might have fallen into my fist a few times over. My foot, maybe my knee too and my other hand after that but it was hardly a crime to stop a crime in progress?” Fin asked her deciding that being honest was likely the best way to go about things.
“Do you believe me?” Fin asked as he gazed at her, watching for any sign that she thought he was lying. Truthfully he was telling the entire truth, maybe a little fiction with the guy fell into his fist but then there was no point in incriminating himself. “I can officially talk but only to you. No one else just you, you’re the only one I trust Amanda.” He said seriously, yes they were together but this was work and as a cop. Amanda was the only cop he trusted at all in Chicago.

[attr="class","Amandaner"] [attr="class","Amandaner1"] [attr="class","Amandaback"] [attr="class","Amandanert"]Listening to Fin recount what had happened, Amanda was attentively listening. She put her cuffs in the pocket. Amanda was also writing down what he told her, part of the not fun would be comparing it to his witness statement later. She knew she was going to have to do things the right way to nail this guy, with or without the tape and to explain their extra visitor. When Fin started yapping about stopping a crime in progress. “Self defense of another.” She mumbled under her breath, but at the same time she knew it had gone the other way too. When he mentioned only talking to her she nodded. “That’s all I am asking Fin. You, me, and official record of the conversation.” Not that the two didn’t talk but she was going to need that to nail this guy. She took a few steps towards him and offered her hand to help him up. It was going to be a long way back to the precinct at least mentally. Though she had a feeling that she was going to be hitting the bar hard tonight. Maybe she could convince Fin that it could be a mutual night out and she could get a babysitter for Jesse, because it was going to be a long night. ∵ @fin ∵ [attr="class","Amandaner2"] [attr="class","Amandanerlyric"]You have a rope man It wasn’t worth pursuing [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:1px;border:10px solid #113e59;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(https://cdn.nickpic.host/images/pQjHCc.jpg);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner:hover .Amandaner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:bookman;font-size:25px;text-transform:lowercase;color:#113e59;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:12px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert span]font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert b]color:#113e59;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner:hover .Amandanert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]

There was no denying he was relived to know the cuffs were away for now. Fin had no issue if they were on Amanda (in a good way) but for himself, no that was when his own insecurities and panic would set in. Even down to giving a witness statement to the good guys, if it had been anyone but Amanda there would have been no chance. He would have been out of that building faster that you could say the word rocket. For Amanda though, he would stay simply because it was he and he trusted her over any other cop in Chicago.
“Exactly, self defence of another. I’m glad you agree detective.” Fin said happily, well it was self defence because there was no chance the woman there was going to be able to defend herself. Fin loved a good fight as much as the next person but a fair fight; sure the ones he fought were rarely fair. The one thing he never did was hurt a female; no there were other ways to do his job other than using his fists. He was only defending someone who was unable to defend themselves, if anything it was decent act.
Fin tried not to hear the official record part, no Amanda and him; those were the two words he heard but when she stepped toward him and offered her hand to help him up. Fin just smiled for a moment. Instead of taking her hand he stood up on his own, he was funny in that way. If he could get up under his own power then it was a good day and yes he may be needed to explain all of that to Amanda but that could be later.
Instead he reached out his hand to take hers as he tried to pull her to him. Sure they were in the middle of a crime scene but then who cared? Fin was there with Amanda and being with her, there was no place he would rather have been at all as he reached his other arm out to her as well. “I think you could use a hug detective, for all the hard work you do.” Fin offered smiling though the hint of a smirk creeping in as he waited to see what she would do. Hug or now hug, he was in the same car she was for a ride to the precinct and then in a room with her all alone. It was like a dream come true, just with a few bad parts along the way.

[attr="class","Amandaner"] [attr="class","Amandaner1"] [attr="class","Amandaback"] [attr="class","Amandanert"]If only he realized that self defense of another was a justification to a crime in a legal court of law. Though unless the man was pressing charges, there was no sense in arresting Fin. She just hoped it didn’t come down to that or she had a feeling that Romano would have to bring him in if that were the case. Amanda walked with Fin down to the car and opened the back of her vehicle for him. She tossed Tony the keys. Technically, Amanda was the senior detective in Chicago but she was in no shape to drive right now. She climbed into the passenger seat up front next to Tony and just hoped that Fin could keep his mouth to himself and that Romano didn’t kill the both of them. One thing Amanda had learned was that nothing prepared you for everything on this job. “67,000 people in this district.” She looked to Romano and sighed, “sometimes I miss being a beat cop.” Traffic stops were one thing and being first on scene was another. This was not a normal occurrence for her and now everything was going to hell. She wanted that hug that Fin was so desperately trying to give her. While she had taken the hug she had made it brief but she knew that Fin knew she needed more than just a quick hug. Amanda was hiding her stress level fairly well though. “The coffee was not strong enough this morning.” Well she at least admitted that. ∵ @fin ∵ [attr="class","Amandaner2"] [attr="class","Amandanerlyric"]You have a rope man It wasn’t worth pursuing [newclass=.cred]text-align:center;font-size:6pt;color:rgb(132, 132, 132);letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;margin-top:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.cred a]color:rgb(132, 132, 132);font-size:6pt;letter-spacing:1px;font-family:verdana;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner]width:420px;height:500px;background:#fcfcfc;padding:1px;border:10px solid #113e59;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner1]width:415px;height:495px;margin-top:2px;border:1px solid #f0f0f0;overflow:hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner2]width:415px;height:495px;float:center;margin-top:-390px;background: url(https://cdn.nickpic.host/images/pQjHCc.jpg);transition: 0.9s ease-in-out;transition-delay:1s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner:hover .Amandaner2]margin-left:-850px;transition: 0.9s ease-in-out[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanerlyric]width:330px;padding-top:405px;text-shadow:#333 1px 1px;font-family:bookman;font-size:25px;text-transform:lowercase;color:#113e59;padding-bottom:5px;color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanerlyric span]font-size:108%[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaback]width:400px;height:380px;margin-top:8px;background-color:#fcfcfc[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert]width:400px;height:465px;margin-top:10px;overflow:auto;text-align:justify;font-family:verdana;font-size:12px;padding:2px;color:#666;background-color:#fcfcfc;line-height:13px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert span]font-size:11px;text-transform:uppercase[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert b]color:#113e59;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandaner:hover .Amandanert]opacity:1;transition:0.8s ease-in-out;transition-delay:0.9s;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:vertical]border:2px solid #fcfcfc; background-color:#aaa;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb:horizontal]background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass] [newclass=.Amandanert::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px; height:5px;background-color:#fcfcfc; border:1px solid #fcfcfc;[/newclass]

Fin doubted the man would press charges because the minute he was out on bail, his first visit would be to scare the crap out of the guy. He had a place to do that too, one he was less than keen on sharing with Amanda after all. Did Batman reveal the location of the bat cave to anyone? No and his bat cave was a little less high tech and more dungeon like with all the shiny power tools to go with it.
Walking down to the car he felt like there was imminent torture coming. Especially when he saw the back door of the car open, yes that was torture because it was the one place he knew he never wanted to be. Climbing in all he could do was sit there and keep his trap shut, act innocent and try not to raise the suspicions of her partner though really Fin wanted to know more about the guy. Working with Amanda he wanted to know the man had her back.
Tony caught the keys as he watched Fin and Amanda, yeah he was missing something he was sure. “A beat cop, you’ve got to be kidding me.” Tony said with a laugh as he started the drive back to the precinct. “Getting half the information, doing all the leg work and not knowing where things lead to. No thank you, been there, done that, happy as an underpaid detective playing taxi to random people.” He said with a grin as he glanced at Amanda.
“Are you talking about that coffee pot by the desks, if you are that pot hadn’t been changed over since last night so us morning people get the left over’s.” Tony remarked knowing he had thrown it out and attempted at making a fresh pot though he had managed to forget to make the coffee stop on the run in that morning. Go figure the one day he wanted a decent cup of coffee he had managed to bypass the entire thing.
Fin just sat quietly in the back listening to the talk of coffee, was this all that cops did all day? Amanda was a lot more interesting outside of work because if coffee was that big a deal to these guys he was going to tear his own hair out. “You know as just the ‘people’ sat in back here, I could use a coffee so why don’t you guy’s make a stop at your favourite place and I can get Chicago’s finest a decent coffee?” Fin suggested seeing Tony’s face light up at the prospect as the two sets of eyes turn to Amanda.
