It was almost hypnotic watching the blue turn to red, sitting there unable to do much other than scream but even then nothing seemed to work. The man just laughed before leaving the room. His parting words about screaming as much as she liked as it would do no good. It might be useless but Nicky was hardly going to take his word for it though the more she screamed the hoarser she became. The cut to her leg that barely stung at the time now hurt like hell with each struggling movement she attempted to make.
Where was the justice in this, where was the ATF? She was supposed to be helping them, was assaulting a police cadet not enough evidence for these guys? Nicky wanted to believe they were right outside, that the door would be broken down any moment but one moment turned to two. Two to three and so on, not even Hank would come through that door now she was sure. She had left no word, no ‘mum I’m just going here for a few hours’. Damned if anyone knew where she was going to be at all.
It was just her and a nut job, worse still no matter how much she struggled the bonds kept her in place as she screamed a little more. She had barely heard the man come back into the room until she felt the side of his hand connect with her face, she thought he had just about loosened all her teeth with that one blow. Though a quick check with her tongue and everything was accounted for. It just hurt like hell and the metallic taste of blood in her mouth was about all she could recognise as she glared at the man.
Nicky debated even telling the guy she was a cop, a half cop or a trainee but not even that though her mother she was sure once Erin knew she was missing the city would be turned upside down. Hank too and that barely took into account the extended family of her step sisters and other halves. Maybe Thomas would be able to find her but then it all depended on who knew and when. What time did her mother usually leave work, it varied though if Erin was working late then maybe no one would notice she was gone until role call that next morning.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] YOUR LOVE is my drug Once Thomas had finished biting the head off the agent that thought being woken up early was an inconvenience he set about organising a door to door search. If there wasnt any luck to be had it was pointless but maybe someone had seen something or a stray camera managed to catch something to help them find this guy and Nicky too. Thomas wasnt one for sitting back and letting things happen on their own, no his eyes were still working out what to do and where the hell all of this had gone wrong.
For a start Nicky, a cadet was a big issue and second ATF was going to swing for it too if he had any say in the matter. Thomas was still trying to get everyone to where they needed to be, officers and agents to cover other bars in the area. Knocking on doors, waking up the right people and dragging their behinds back down to the bar along with all involved with the case. He had also given instructions to arrest them if they didnt cooperate which was a good enough excuse for him to drag them out in the middle of the night.
It wasnt like he was down there by choice, no it was to try and look out for family. It was then he saw Erin arrive as he consciously took a few steps back from Hank not sure how Erin would take the news from the man. In this a states attorney was a parent too, one of a missing cadet and if the killer knew who he had it could go one of three ways. Instant death or Nicky would be freed and found wondering around under her own power.
The third option was a little more iffy, ransom was a nightmare but then it usually ended a little badly especially when lawyers were involved. The right and wrong became blurred and right now right and wrong were blurring a little too much.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! Hank sighed hearing Erin say she didnt know, short and brisk it was a cops dream to hear instead of the broken down ramblings of someone hysterical. Still it wasnt exactly made easy when it was family and this didnt make it any better when it was Nicky. Hank would have traded places with her in a heart beat but it wasnt like that could happen. Then again if Nicky thought she might get off lightly when they had her back, no chance. Hank was going to rip the kid into pieces over this with or without Erin’s support on it.
Erin arrived and Hank could see her stand out from the mix of cops, feds and enough agencies that he didnt even want to know who was who anymore. The protective look on her face Hank knew all too well and it wasnt like he could keep the truth from her anytime soon. Hank was well aware just what Erin could do but now he just needed her to know what was going on and try to keep her together as best he could in the mean time. Thomas sounded like he had things under control for a fed so that was one small thing he didnt need to do.
“Erin, just listen to me and you can freak out later okay.” Hank said not wanting to treat her like everything was fine because it wasnt fine, none of it was fine. “Nicky is in trouble, she was picked for an ATF assignment for an ATF serial killer case and there was a screw up. Nicky met the guy and is now missing without her purse, ID for herself and assuming any back up weapon she might have been given.” Hank stated as he reached out or Erin to take her in a hug not sure what her reaction was going to be though none of it good he was sure.
“That is all I know, Thomas is doing...” Hank waved his hand in Thomas’ direction, “And I need you here just in case there’s a call, or if you know anything about this that you didnt think you knew before.” Hank knew questioning Erin might be the worst idea but then she was the parent of a victim and as much as that hurt to say or think, it needed to be done. “So again, is there anything you can tell me that she said, left a note and mentioned anything?” Hank asked knowing it was a no from him but then Erin was Nicky’s mum, there might have been something.

[attr="class","Erinner"] [attr="class","Erinner1"] [attr="class","Erinback"] [attr="class","Erinnert"] Listen? She was supposed to listen? Hank had just told her that her daughter was in trouble and mixed up with the feds. “Wreckless endangerment. So help me I will find something to sue the ATF with and it will not be pretty.” She wasn’t freaking out but she was making her point that the federal government was about to have their hands full with the state. When Hank reached out she sent a glare at him. If she didn’t think she knew something before? What was he getting out. Oh she was going to bury him for that later. Right now time was of the essence. “You find my daughter and you bring her back Sergeant.” Erin was separating herself from the case as much as she could. “I so much as TOUCH this operation and it stands not a chance in court. You need to find someone else to take that call.” She soon found Sharon there at the scene. Then Erin heard her piping up. “I’ll wait with the State’s attorney.” She offered knowing that leaving her stepmother by herself right now was probably a bad idea. Erin was staying composed but she was angry. Grabbing her phone out of her pocket she was about to call Thomas when she saw that he was standing right there. That's how out of it she was. "So help me Agent Voight if anything happens to Nicky..." Yes threatening the FBI was probably not her best judgment call. Nicky was barely aware of the man coming back into the room, her eyes struggled to focus as she watched her leg bleed. So much blood, too much blood she thought but the searing pain in her arm took away most of the thought about her leg in an instant. Nicky had never been one to sit and not stand up for what was right, taking the job from the ATF she had been so sure that things would turn out okay. The killer would be caught; she could go back to work the next day with a job well done and now.
Now she was stuck there at the hands of a serial killer and who knew what else. No one was coming for her and each and every time the man came back into the room. He would pick up that knife and another part of her body would scream out in agony against the blade. Arms, legs, her clothes were gradually turning the darker shades of red as she sat there unable to fight back as she might have done. If anything a sense of paralyzing fear and blood loss prevented her from fighting as much as the ties that bound her to the chair did.
She was starting to feel cold and if this was it for her life, then she felt as if she had disappointed the family. She had get to officially join the family business, she had failed to sit an exam for being a lawyer to take after her mother. Who knew what Hank thought; she even doubted her mother knew that at times and the wider family. The dumb kid that thought she could help on a case that instead of finding a killer she turned into a victim without a hope in hells chance of escaping this alive.
Maybe her mother would stay away from the scene if they found her, she hoped she did and now more than ever she wanted to talk. To tell everyone everything she had never said, now she was stuck in a room with little light, no friends, no family and a guy that would torture her until the end. The Reagan family was officially cursed.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] YOUR LOVE is my drug Thomas had to feel for Erin, she was caught in the middle of somethings he didnt have any power over. As a lawyer it wasnt exactly anything that could help right then, she was a mother who’s daughter was missing and even with the sway she had it wasnt going to fix what had happened. Hell even he felt useless going over the files trying to find something that the ATF overlooked at least in the initial part of their investigation but there wasnt much to be honest.
Seeing Sharon there Thomas tried to smile, family was in trouble again and he didnt like any part of that. Not his family, not after everything that had happened so far. Then hearing the threat from Erin, anyone else and Thomas would have made sure they walked away from that scene with strips torn from their ego but Erin. No he understood she was angry, upset, worried and hurt but it wasnt his fault. This time it wasn’t the FBI’s fault either which maybe at a later date he might point out to Hank because it was the ATF. Entirely different letters bar one.
“Erin, we’ll fine her. I promise you we’ll find her.” Thomas said knowing it was about the only promise he could make. Never promise anything but finding family it wasnt negotiable at all. The one thing he couldnt tell her was the state they found Nicky in, that was beyond his control as he glanced at another sheet attached to the file he had. It was a list of tips that needed followed up as he paused over one that caught his attention.
“We might have something here...” Thomas said as he moved to one of the cars flattening the papers out on the bonnet of the patrol car as he grabbed a patrol’s flash light for a moment. Sure the place was lit up like Christmas but the red, white and blue all mixed together didnt make for easy reading light. “See this right here...” Thomas said pointing to the tip about activity in an abandoned building. “See every time someone disappeared... there’s a call... a few actually about this place.” He said reading further down the file. “Each time ATF went but there was nothing but I don’t know if they even checked or just drove past.” He said not exactly putting much faith in that agency right about now.
Maybe he shouldn’t have said anything in front of Erin but then keeping information from his step, mother in law he guessed was a really bad idea. “We should follow up on this. Something tells me it’s something.” Thomas said not sure what it was about the information but then again his brain was still processing the files he had read to fit them into the right pieces.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! Hank tried not to have that look of ‘please don’t even’ on his face as Erin started to mention suing the ATF, that was really the last option he wanted to go to. Nicky was number one and reckless endangerment oh there were ways to solve things like that. A certain old plant that was a firm favourite of his could come out of retirement or maybe just a trip to a bridge to hand a few feet over there just for good measure. It wasnt entirely illegal if no one complained about it.
“Erin, it’s not worth it just focus on Nicky and talking to me okay.” Hank said not wanting to lose Erin to court case she might not win, it wasnt that he doubted her but Erin was the government going up against a federal organization and that meant fed judges and a whole lot of man power and time that he wasnt sure could be given to the idea. “Lou, you know I will.” Hank said hearing the separation of personal for the case as he shook his head.
“This isn’t court Lou and you’re a mother first before a court officer. I don’t care right now what stands up in court or not it’s family and we can fix this after we get Nicky back.” Hank stated as he saw Sharon and nodded to her, he didnt want his daughter involved with the case but Hank knew he would push any lines that needed to be and break any laws that meant they had Nicky back with them. So be a second murder charge again it wasnt like he didnt skate the first one he had.
Then Thomas started, he half expected there to be a show down between the two but the fed did the right thing and let it slide as Thomas started in about some new information. Hank didnt want to read it he just wanted to get there as he nodded. “Sure we’ll take my car and check this out, if it’s a dead end we come back if it’s not we fix this.” Hank said knowing exactly what he meant about fixing it and the person that had Nicky, no he wasnt getting away with this or seeing a court room if he could help it.
Hank didnt want to ask Erin along though he wasnt sure he'd be able to keep her away, he didnt want her seeing exactly what he'd do but then it was her daughter that this guy had. Glancing at Erin Hank wanted to give her the choice. "Lou?" He asked her knowing he didnt even need to voice the question.

[attr="class","Erinner"] [attr="class","Erinner1"] [attr="class","Erinback"] [attr="class","Erinnert"]Sharon took a stance beside Lou. "Perhaps I should take her back to the station? Or to the house?" Though Erin's mouth flew open. "Not a chance in hell. I was called here." Erin looked pointedly at her husband but this was well above what she could handle right now. This was already going to have to be tried in another jurisdiction where Erin couldn't 'pay off' a judge to twist things up. There could be no favoritism and right now, federal courts weren't going to give a damn. She knew she couldn't touch it. "You need to let the CPD and FBI do their jobs Erin."Not words Erin wanted to hear. There were so many units all over the place Erin felt like she was in a horror movie gone bad. It was bad enough Nicky had already been the target of a disgruntled serial killer. Bad enough she'd been collateral at someone mad at her brother. Some people didn't deserve to be breathing and Erin could chalk this up to another person that she wanted to kill but the ATF would answer for this, with or without Hank's permission [attr="class","Erinner2"] [attr="class","Erinnerlyric"]Don’t let the halo fool you I like a good fight

Post by Nicky Reagan - Boyle on Jul 6, 2018 21:08:29 GMT
The cold feeling soon felt like ice running through her veins, even keeping her eyes open became a fight of mind over matter. The matter being the red blood that appeared to be leaving her faster and faster as she felt another injury. This time it was above her leg, far above her leg and more mid stomach as she screamed. The cold blade against her skin hurt like hell before the cold icy feeling gave way to a scorched hot sensation. The burning would surely end her before anyone would be able to find her until the familiar cold started to seep right back into her.
Nicky was unsure how long she was out, she could hear the voice of that man. The man that kept poking, prodding and demanding more than she could ever give. His hollow voice sending shivers down her spine whenever she had strength to make them. The tears she could feel falling down her face as she stared at the man taunting her with the phone. He placed it in her lap, just out of reach as she struggled to take it. She gave up again as she felt the guy place the phone in her hand, she heard the words ‘too weak’ and ‘given up already’ thrown her way.
Was giving up the Reagan way? Never. The advantage of being in her early twenties was her fingers were fast when it came to typing, the phone was unlocked and the guy was leaning casually against the wall. Too casually as Nicky pretended to make a move for the phone, her fingers slipping over it. It was a last ditch attempt for help, she had numbers engrained her mind, her mum, dad, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and even Hank. It was a wing and a prayer that any message would get out of that room.
With a slightly more self assured grin on her face Nicky dropped the phone deliberately, the bright screen flashing up the one word she had sent. Was there time for a sentence, no or everything she wanted to say. No. A simple three digits that meant trouble. 911. Not sent to the police or any random number, no her mother’s number was emblazoned upon the top of the message with a little line of text that said sent with a date and time. The guy had made a mistake giving her a phone under the pretence she would be unable to use it.
Simple but hopefully effective she thought as she saw the man’s facade of control disappear within a second. The first fist that flew across her face she managed to lean back enough that it simply brushed her cheek hard. The second fist, she was a lot less lucky as she felt her head snap with an explosion of pain through her face as the metal chair she was sat in flew back against the hard concrete ground. Now at least her mother would know she was in trouble, phones could be tracked or at least people could start looking. It was hail Mary but one she felt was worth the risk.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] YOUR LOVE is my drug Thomas didn’t exactly like the sound of Hank’s version of fix this, that could mean a lot but when it was Voight saying it. It meant one of a few things, for a second Thomas almost forgot his last name was now Voight and yeah for Nicky, sure he would turn his back and claim he didnt see anything. Thomas nodded to Sharon when she said about taking Erin to the station or house, it was a good call but then Erin shot it down faster than he could agree with Sharon on that.
“We’ll get her back Erin, it’s family. She’ll come back.” Thomas said careful not to say any word of a good outcome or bad, he didn’t make promises like that and if he had anything to do with it. ATF wasn’t getting near a Reagan or Voight for the next hundred years. Thomas glanced down at the papers again, no he had a hunch about it and he wanted to follow that. He knew his job and right now, if he was the undercover agent in trouble he’d want a angry mob of cops and agents on his tail.
Then again he didnt really know much of what that could be like, until she saw Sharon and Hank and Erin. He could already hear his brothers in his head going kill or capture but Thomas wasnt for that, kill was too good and capture was risky. Sometimes being an agent was crap and today was one of those moments. Thomas turned to Sharon, gathering the papers as he made the move to stand next to her to not be overheard. “You think you can look after Erin if we all go?” Thomas asked not sure if that was the stupidest idea he had or not.
It wasnt that he wanted to cause Erin more pain, no but family was family and the closer Erin was to her daughter had to be a good thing. No matter what they found there, Sharon there too meant that there was extra support and if it turned out to be anything, an extra gun to watch Erin worked just as well. It was only an idea and if Hank or Sharon vetoed it then fine but it was an idea. He thought as he threw the papers into the boot of Hank’s car before getting in and checking his gun and vest. He’d been shot before and he wasnt wanting to do that again, least of all without a vest.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! Hank would have taken any lead right then, sure it came from a fed but Thomas was more family over fed now. Sure the guy wasnt the perfect guy he might have imagined for his daughter but it wasnt like he could do much about it. “Yes do that.” Hank stated as he heard Erin argue with the pointed look at him. Yeah he wasn’t going to win that battle at all. “Erin listen to sense here, you’re the...” Hank didnt even want to say that sentence, victims mother. Nope he couldnt bring himself to make those words.
“You’re too involved in it for your own good.” Hank told her as he realised he had caused this by getting Erin there in the first place. Hank glanced at Thomas as he spoke to Sharon, oh he was about to regret what he was doing he knew that much. Hank tugged at the Velcro holding together the bullet proof vest he had on. It came away easily, the much practiced move as he had done the same thing for years now. Passing it to Erin he couldn’t have looked more serious. “Put it on and get in the car.” Hank stated as he glanced around the group.
Time for talking was done in his mind, this was a rescue not a debate he figured as he got into the car and started the engine. “Whoever’s coming you’ve got five seconds to get in.” Hank stated as he revved the engine a little to make his point. His gun was on his hip and all he needed to do was get in sight of the guy who had Nicky and he’d make sure this didnt even reach a court. Hank waited as long as he said before setting off, he didnt want to see who was in and who was left there because he wasnt sure he wanted to do the very thing he was doing.
Bring the parent to a crime scene of unknowns, yeah not his brightest day but then this wasnt just any parent. Any scene or any kid. This was Nicky and he wasnt going to stand in her way of getting to her mum or Erin getting to her daughter.

That made things so much better. “Too involved? She's my DAUGHTER Hank. I'm not just going to sit here while the government agencies screw things up even farther. I'm coming with you.” She made her point very clear. There was no stopping it. Seeing Hank handing over his vest she put her hands up. “Put your vest back on.” Erin demanded. That's when Sharon threw one at the ground at Erin's feet. “For the record that is a spare not mine.” Sharon piped up. Sharon's vest clearly still visible securely fastened to her body. Sharon looked back at Thomas. “I got this don't worry about it.” Sharon was the last to get in the car and Lou was already buckled up when Hank revved the engine. Yeah there were worse ideas. Erin was silent most of the trip, her head was the one playing with her. At least she was in the backseat where Hank couldn't read, see, or try and translate what was going on in her head. No, that was the last thing that she wanted. Sighing, she could feel every heart beat in her chest as the car rolled along. (What if Sharon and Hank gave chase? Thomas stayed with Erin and Nicky? Just so Amy doesn't end up Rping with herself?) [attr="class","Erinner2"] [attr="class","Erinnerlyric"]Don’t let the halo fool you I like a good fight

Hindsight was a wonderful thing, it gave her the idea that she should have told just one more person. Told Sharon or the FBI guy she was with, her mother or even Hank what she was doing. Long enough for it to be too late but right then, on her own with some guy who seemed as though he wanted to do serious damage. One person was all she needed right now, one person to break in, on person to rescue her or just one person to tell her that everything would be okay.
Nicky was praying on her text message getting through, the three numbers she had sent to her mother would hopefully mean she was in trouble. She could even hear the phrase that had been taught to her since she could listen, ‘please do not hurt my family’. Nicky was tied to a chair on her back until she felt the man lift her back into position again, she would have given anything right then to hear a family member say that phrase. To say a line of six words meant the world to her, right then it did more than anything else.
She could feel the blood pouring from her face as she tried to make a face to see what hurt most. It all did as far as she could feel, the cut to each leg was only getting worse and the slight trickle of red on the floor was staring to look more like a pool. The pool of blood that surrounded most crime scene photos she had seen thanks to the family business over the years. Was this going to be her own photo, the red pool and the body that cops, forensics and juries would look at? Splayed out for everyone to pick apart.
Hearing the man storm from the room, the banging of the door as she gave a sigh of relief she had no idea she had held for so long. Nicky felt tired as she sat there trying to struggle against the bonds that held her to the chair, praying that the next time the door opened it was help.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] YOUR LOVE is my drug Thomas didnt really want to be involved in a domestic between Erin and Hank, no it wasnt the time or place and he knew if he said much of anything. There was every chance that this time he could get shot again, not by the bad guys but by the good ones. One minute there was arguing and the next people were swapping vests as if it was a store sale.
Thomas couldnt help but give Sharon a wry smile as she said she had it and not to worry. Oh he worried and now more than ever but if they ended up killing each other on the way it wasnt like they had much to argue about after that. The trip was silent, something Thomas was grateful for given he didnt want to listen to an argument. It was always worse when the parents knew what was going on, knew the statistics, knew the procedure.
The usual ‘trust us’ and ‘we’ve done this a million times before’ didnt work. Still as Hank drove Thomas just focused out the window trying to work out what was going on and if he should open his mouth or not as he chose not to feeling the car roll to a stop. Thomas felt like going over the ground rules but then again, it was family so it wasnt like there were any rules to be followed as he threw open the car door looking at the building.
Thomas couldnt help but glance over at Sharon to see that she had a vest on too, just in case he figured and it wasnt like he could hide the fact they were married. No he worried about Sharon all day long and this time more than ever, he didnt know what the guy would do because so far the ATF were being complete idiots and stalling. No phone call and no head to stomp on yet for what had happened. There was time for that still he figured as he checked his gun again just to be sure.

[googlefont="Oswald"][googlefont="Allura"][googlefont="Abel"] THIS IS CHICAGO my city! Hank has so many replied but he knew he screwed up the minute he opened his mouth. This is why it was always difficult when it involved cops and family. The two didnt mix well. “You don’t think I know that? Erin... I swear.” Hank said as he took a breath biting his tongue. No he wasnt going to win this battle and if he did it was at what cost. Hank put his vest back on as Sharon threw one to Erin. “See everyone’s got one now. Just watch your back okay. Don’t need anyone else getting into trouble.” Hank stated sure that he had enough trouble to deal with already.
He wanted to scream though he just fumed inwardly as he stared at Sharon. “Good because if I find out that either of you took a risk and didnt wear a vest. Any serial killer will be the least of your worries.” Hank stated deciding just to say what he felt as he revved the engine more before setting off. The car ride was quite, Hank had a lot to say but he knew now wasn’t the time to say it or yell it.
Even the fact the stupid Fed was tagging along annoyed him but then again, if it wasnt for Thomas he wasnt sure they would know anything yet. That annoyed him even more than him tagging along. Hank wondered what the hell Nicky was thinking but then he didnt wan to argue family and thought processes right then. Hank pulled the car up outside the building, far enough in the darkness that anyone looking out wouldn’t be able to see them well.
He got out grumbling as he glanced at Thomas then to Erin and Sharon. “Is it too much to ask that you two stay in the car?” Hank said as he motioned to the door grabbing the flash light from the car. “Just stay close and don’t do anything stupid okay.” Hank stated as he glanced at Erin reaching for his ankle piece as he held it out to her. “Just in case you need something a little more robust than words.” He stated, sure it might not be the perfect situation but at least he knew Erin could protect herself and knew how to use it as he made a start for the door of the building not waiting around.
(Yeah no worries, works great for me.)
