[googlefont="Courgette"] love is a dangerous game Jacqueline ran her hand around the rim of the glass. She had a glass of wine she was toying with. It was a much needed night out. Cameron was home and it gave Jackie a much needed break. She's just gotten a recent promotion at work which her and her husband had gone out and celebrated. Now the extra stress kicked in. Cross Consolidated wasn't exactly a small company and making sure they kept out of the news tabloids was something one thing. Running the circus that had to do that and shed positive light on things. There was a lot.
There was a good bit on her mind, and she just needed to get most of it off. She was always diligent when she drank and she usually always called her husband to come get her or a cab. Then again Madison and Lacy could also come and pick her up. That was beside the point right now. She took a sip of her drink and then surveyed the bar. At least this wasn't the kind of bar that had fights over who looked at who's girl the wrong way.

The Violet Hour wasn't the sort of place Nora frequented a lot. She and her friends usually went to the slightly less posh clubs where one went to get absolutely trashed. Being twentyfour this meant a killer headache, but that was a small price to pay for a fun-filled night. Tonight, however, she had good reason not be doing shots in a club where the bass vibrated through your entire body. Earlier in the evening she'd done an interview with a young woman who'd preferred the interview to take place in a public setting. Being a mere one meter sixty-four Nora didn't consider herself intimidating, but making sure the person you interviewed was comfortable was pretty important, so she didn't mind. It had gone pretty well, all things considered. The setting made for a bit more background noise than she liked, but the woman had been open and willing to get vulnerable, so at the end Nora was satisfied. They shook hands, the woman left and Nora decided to stay for a drink or two.
Her eyes darted through the establishment. She wanted to stay for a while, but not without someone to talk to. Nora wasn't easily fed up with talking. Thankfully, she didn't stand out too much. Her clothes were certainly not high-end, but with a black and white polkadotted blouse tucked into high-waisted jeans and black, high heeled boots, she looked decent enough. Her blonde hair was loosely draped around her shoulders. She spotted a woman sitting on her own, drink in hand, seemingly observing her environment, just like Nora did a moment ago. Yes, she seemed interesting. She walked over to the bar and sat down on a stool next to the woman, giving her a friendly smile as she did that. "'evening," she greeted. "Hope you don't mind if I join you."

[googlefont="Courgette"] love is a dangerous game The blonde could almost pass for one of Jacqueline’s daughters. In fact, she was certain that there might be some strong resemblances in their facial features. Jackie had the whole Cross Consolidated/WhitTech tabloid mess. A heads up would have been nice. Then again, that would have been too much work for the CEO’s son. Yes, sometimes the press was easier to deal with than the people who were part of and affected by poor decision making skills. Men needed to use their brains more. This Evan character didn’t seem to use his. At least not from where Jackie stood.
Jacqueline looked up from her drink and towards the younger blonde. “Not at all. Company doesn’t hurt.” Truth be told Jackie wasn’t exactly a talker but she was more than willing to lend a helping hand if it was needed. That was the problem with being the one in the family who did everything all the time and took on the role as parent. Jackie was still coming to grips with being the matriarch in the family.
It was something that her younger sister Harland wasn’t taking so well. Though one couldn’t really blame her. Even if Jackie was the older one, Harley was the more protective of the two and there was probably a likelihood of someone getting their toes stepped on. Something else that Jackie was handling though wouldn’t speak her mind on.
