Another day, another case

Haley breathed in the nice crisp fresh air. She was walking up and steps to the building. She was now working in the Major  Crimes Unit. Once she walked in she walked to the bullpen room. In her hand she held her smoothie she made that morning. She raised up her tumbler to her lips and sipped her strawberry and banana smoothie. The smoothie went cooly down her throat. She stood in from of the blank bullpen. She took out her phone when it vibrated in her pocket. It was her father, she pressed down texting him back. Once she pressed send she reached into  her pocket to put her phone away. As she was doing so she turned her  attention to the door, she noticed a brunette girl walking in. Haley smiled at her and was about to open her mouth to greet her when someone walked out of an office causing her to turn her head. It was their CO. "Good the two of you are here" He dropped a file at a desk near them "Here is a case that I need the two of you to start on" He pointed to the file. The phone in his office began to ring. He turned around and walked back into his office.

Lara DunCroft

Lara walked through the door of the MCU with her bag hanging on her shoulder and an arm full of folders she had taken home with her last night. She was wearing her jacket and had a couple of stray, wind swept locks of hair hanging at the side of her face. She didn't look a mess or anything but the stray locks of hair and the fast pace of her strides somehow reflected the scrambled morning she'd just had getting ready and commuting to work. After yet another short night of sleep.

She got to her desk and pulled out her chair with her free hand. Noticing the blonde woman across from her she gave her a light nod as she put the folders down on her desk and slipped the bag off her shoulder, before sitting down in her chair.
Everyone else was either out on the job or hadn't gotten in yet, leaving the bullpen empty apart from the two women.

Lara ran a hand over her hair, sorting out the stray locks as she grabbed one of the folders off the small stack and pulled it towards herself, picking up where she left off at home a few hours ago.
It was an older case and there had been no leads for awhile now, but it hadn't been turfed over to the cold case team yet and Lara had taken it upon herself to go over the case with a fine-tooth comb until it was solved or handed over. She began reading and looking over some of the photos but it was only a few minutes before Lt. Sullivan came out of his office.

He stood between the two of them, "Good the two of you are here" "Here is a case that I need the two of you to start on" He began. Putting a file on the corner of a nearby desk.

"I'm short staffed today, so I'm going to have to pair you up." He explained.
He was about to brief them on the case when his phone began to ring causing him to turn his head towards his office, it was a the call he had been waiting for. "An unidentified female body had been called in. The circumstances are being treated as suspicious until cause of death has been determined." He informed them, then went back to his office.

Lara looked over to the pretty blonde, be it with a slight dubiousness in her eyes that she couldn't totally hide. She had seen the woman around the MCU and said hi to her on several occasions, but the two had never worked together before.
