[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | Sharon swallowed the lump in her throat and ran her hand over her fake id. The one denoted her as Marilyn. Her name would never come off her lips. She was Marilyn Palmazio - Rouger. She'd never changed her name after her divorce because technically she had been dead. She was looking for someone and she wasn't about to out their legal businesses as a place of conversation. There were some things to keep on the down low and this was one of them. She could feel the stares from her cousin in law as Syri managed to keep her sharp witted tongue at bay. "Take it easy Syri. I just want to talk with Scott." Oh yes she wanted to talk with Scott alright. The men who were tied up by the CPD, Sharon could help them but Scott was going to have to give in return. Though she knew men could become disposable if they had messed up.
Sharon was not scared of Scott anymore, she knew him to a reasonable person even if they didn't always see eye to eye. She'd gone over this ten million times in her head. She looked relaxed but she was on alert. She'd told Thomas where she was going. This wasn't her following any leads or messing in the case, this was her making a deal with the devil. Quite possibly one of her more foolish moves to date. Hank was going to kill her, hell she'd told Thomas the truth and he was probably going to kill her too.
Sharon had manners, and she was going to use them. All knowledge of anything ceased to exist. All she wanted was a conversation. Sharon took a seat only when invited to do so. The people here some of them brought back bad memories, ones she wanted to go away. But she also wanted a truce. Anything for them to stop targetting Thomas. He was family, sure it was something that Scott would understand. Whether she liked it or not, these people were also family. Right now, she hoped she could best use that to her advantage. |

Scott was going over inventory for the day, he never once thought he would be a businessman but there he was. Keeping the books on the more illegal side of the business when he would have much preferred to be out there working as the hired help. It was what he was good at, playing boss well he missed the freedom of getting his hands dirty which was where he felt Mark had gone wrong. The man had made many mistakes in his mind and Sharon being one of those, not the marriage but the treatment of her.
If he had been nicer then there was no need for all of this cloak and dagger, truce business. Then again her male interest had been left out of that particular deal. Scott wasn’t stupid and yes taking on a fed was a bad idea all around but still this Thomas was fair game as far as he was concerned. A mistake by Hank Voight or a tactical let him get rid of the daughters boyfriend move but either way Scott had an appreciation for the oversight or the strategic move.
Still with all of that going on he had two people in CPD custody because of a botched job, honestly Scott wanted to the kill the two himself for making such a rookie mistake. Never attack a cops home unless you had the means and know how to finish the job and second, never attack Voight because that voided any contract they had together. Yes it was a simplified way of looking at it but if it needed to be a morgue and hospital situation Scott had no issue with that given he was sure the Mafia could take on the CPD and make their lives miserable for a while at least.
Scott glanced over his shoulder from the desk he was at when he heard her voice and saw Syri’s stares as he smiled. “Oh the sister-in-law returns to the family.” He stated clapping his hands lightly as he stopped what he was doing and made his way toward Sharon and pulled out a seat for her. “Please do sit, we’re not monsters here.” He stated though monsters was a term he used lightly. “So Marilyn, to what do we owe the pleasure? Sight seeing, walking down memory lane or just hear for my sparkling personality?” He asked her doing his best to be charming or at least civil as Sharon had done nothing to him over the years.
She was family at one point and now still family of a sort but just fought for a different side. Then again he couldnt exactly say he wasnt pleased to see her get out from Mark and Galacio. It was a mixed sense of appreciation, envy and annoyance. Strange really when he thought about it given that he had no issue with what he did for work and yet to see someone get out of it no matter how many times she had been killed or alias’s that had been used for her. It was good to see her doing well in the world despite it all.
----------------
Thomas had fought to get his cover story straight, time was well running out and he had to get to Scott before Sharon did for her own safety. Sure it was a risk and going in as a fed well it wasnt exactly the brightest idea he had so he had requested an ID and quick turn around on a back stop for a dock worker. It was easy enough to blend in being Little Jimmy’s cousin who needed some work, a little dock grease, a hat filled with holes and the over sized jacked and he was through the front gate for a cash in hand, no questions asked fill in job for a few days.
Not high tech but it got him there and that was all that mattered. Thomas had been working around the warehouse for a few hours, mapping out exits and entrances, faces and players there and he had seen Scott moving about he just didnt manage to get close enough to have a ‘friendly chat’ with the man yet. No he was busy marking of a crate of something that had fallen off the back of a wagon at the far side of the warehouse when he heard a familiar voice hit his ears.
Sharon, yes he knew she had told him and just as before he wasnt happy about her choice but he thought he had a little more time before she would want to appear. As it turned out no, time was up as he turned his back to her direction making sure he was close enough to hear and yet far enough away as to not look suspicious as he slowly set about unloading the crate of boxes. Thomas could feel the gun rested in the back of his jeans that now felt like a brick that he wanted to shoot Scott for what he had done to Sharon. What he had let happen to her as he bit his lip trying to keep his head straight.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes | Sharon remained composed, to say her nerves weren’t going a mile a minute was an understatement. But she was here on Thomas’ behalf. “I think you already know why I am here.” Sharon responded as she got up and went to lean on the wall. She felt more comfortable, she wanted to be alert. Showing him she was unarmed she moved closer and leaned closer to the conversation.
She had a feeling that getting him to be happy for another wedding of sorts was completely out of the question. “I’ve kept my promise Scott. I’ve stayed out of whatever you have going on. I might be able to help you out too.” There was a pause. “Your agreement with Hank Voight doesn’t extend to the feds but it does extend to my family.” Her voice was composed and confident but not pushy or overbearing. “I’ve never been one to like the color grey. Black and white can be very alluring still.” She wasn’t talking colors, she was talking about the agreement they made.
Pity and sympathy she couldn’t make that work for her in this instance. “I’m by no means protecting the feds Scott. I will protect family.” At least she got straight to the point. It was all she could do to not ask who had aimed for her or to even mention she was fired upon. No, that was a bullet wound that Thomas would carry around with him for the rest of his life. A reminder that either of their lives could have ended in an instant. Sharon took a breath but remained leaning on the wall. |

Scott grinned at Sharon as he shrugged innocently, oh he knew alright and he knew that the two little idiots that had threatened his treaty with Voight were sitting in police custody. He was still trying to work out if he broke them out how fast he had to kill them or simply just let Voight at them and wash his hands of the entire situation. He should have had Syri to go after the Fed or Eyal, at least then he could guarantee there wouldnt have been a miss at all. “Oh no, do tell sweetheart. I’m completely oblivious.” He said with a sigh as he watched her lean on the wall.
Scott appreciated the fact she was unarmed, then again half the warehouse could take a gun off her so bringing it would have been a silly move. Scott took a few steps toward her as he still kept the smile on his face. “Help me out, a cop. Yeah help me into a six by eight cell.” He replied as he raised his brow wondering what she could possibly help him with. “I’ve always favoured black and white but grey just makes everything so much more interesting dont you think?” Scott asked knowing the agreement was black and white and he had stuck to that.
“Ah so it’s the Fed that you want to be family Marilyn.” Scott said as he clapped his hands, “Finally we get down to business. Haven’t you ever thought I was doing you and Hank a favour in... allegedly and hypothetically solving the fed problem?” He asked her though it was a little more of a ‘I can hit where it hurts and doesn’t have anything to do with my agreement’ sort of thing. “Who’s to say that he isn’t just using you like Mark did? Don’t forget we are family Sharon and feds aren’t family to me.” He stated as really a fed was just trouble gift wrapped in blue and yellow.
“You know I might have been protecting family too, in my own way. Saving you from a life of... well Fed, pretty sure those guys just hide in trees all day and shuffle paper. I might even go as far as to say I was saving you from a boring life.” Scott added smiling sweetly at her, oh this was so much fun and so much more fun than he had planned for the day. Sure Scott was beyond annoyed at the two little idiots that had attempted and failed but it had obviously shaken things up a little and who could resist a little of the grey area in life. The fed apparently lived so really no harm no foul.
-------------
Thomas was struggling to keep his focus as he gripped the edges of the clip board he had. What the hell was wrong with being a Fed? Hank hated him for his job or just in general he wasnt too sure but a criminal. How could that guy hate him and want to shoot him for simply being a Fed. Yeah he should be used to it but then thinking that Sharon was there trying to extend whatever deal Hank had with this criminal, no it didnt sit well with him at all.
Sharon was his family and protecting her was what he had done as he listened to the mans replies as he wanted to go over and arrest him there and then for trafficking in stolen goods. A few months in prison just didnt seem enough and the man was largely untouchable and starting a war between law enforcement and a mafia, not high on his list of. ‘Hey, Debra guess what I did today’ conversations to be had. He could just shoot him but then Sharon was there and getting her hurt wasnt really an option either as he continued to count the shipment on the crate.
How to be a dock worker for a day and not strangle the man that was talking to the woman he loved about attempting to shoot her. He half wanted to laugh and go, yeah got me instead but then it wasnt exactly something he could laugh about when he knew Sharon could have been hurt. Thomas turned slightly so he could see Sharon for a moment, he wasnt sure if she would even look his way but he had to at least hope she knew he was there. Just in case she needed help and he didnt want her to think she was on her own.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | Sharon did not miss the sarcasm in Scott’s tone. Not much unlike his brother. Though Sharon schooled her internal emotions as best that she could. She was not going to get what she wanted if she just yelled at him and caused a ruckus. No, she had to keep a solid and confident demeanor. Something Mark had beaten out of her, but something that Thomas and Hank were slowly rebuilding in her.
“I have no interest in putting you into a cell Scott.” She said honestly as her hands ran along where she was sitting. It was a well known habit of hers. “I can keep the feds out of your way Scott. Voight can’t do that for you.” She knew that Hank would have Debra have them shot if given half the chance.
Using Mark against her was a low blow. “His job title doesn’t matter to me Scott. He’s helped me heal from what Mark did to me.” She pointed out. “My family and your family might be the same in some aspects but I respect where yours differs. All I am asking is for the same.” Sharon knew the bullet hadn’t been aimed at Thomas. She saw right through the lie, unless the idiots down in lock up had taken it upon themselves to make up the rules. Though her mind tossed with the idea. Was it Scott who wanted her dead or the others. Even though she had the information she needed from him, she still wanted to press to see if he would give into leaving Thomas alone.

Scott laughed and nodded at her, oh she had no interest in putting him into a cell well she could tell the rest of the CPD that and any other agency she had running after him. “You know I’d almost believe that Marilyn but there’s just something about that statement I can’t quiet believe.” He added as he took a breath and glanced at her, oh the feds were now in his way well that was quiet obvious the minute that one got shot trying to protect the family traitor and that was just a mess Scott wasn’t all that willing to deal with.
“The feds huh, what is that worth to you and you’ve no idea what Voight would do you for Marilyn. I’m sure if I asked nicely enough he’d do anything.” Scott said still not sure how far that man would go for her but still it was worth pressing the button now and again just for a giggle if nothing else. After all the man needed to be reminded that despite their little agreement he couldn’t control the New York side of the business, only Chicago and that was a handful enough for him for the family business or well he could control a lot but maybe it just wasnt worth his time to put an entire stop on harming the person who had sold them out in the first place.
Scott simply kept the smile on his face although entirely false when she spoke about Mark, his brother had been a monster toward her and he was well aware of it. It was the reason he didnt want anything to do with his brother for a long time and sure it sounded crazy given he had no issue accepting contracts on people but it was never woman and children. His rules, his way and the one thing he did believe in was that no matter what happened you treated a woman right. Unlike his brother which was their main difference though there were so many.
“Mine differs yes and you can ask but you know something Marilyn, I do respect your family. Voight, he came to me and we made a deal and yes it included the family but a fed... do you even trust him or has he blinded you with a gold tinted badge and hand cuffs?” Scott asked as he smirked at her knowing full well who the bullet was aimed at but then it had been a disaster so Scott was making sure everyone that needed to be was ten steps away from the storm that it raised.
“You know Marilyn, the one thing I did admire you for was your honesty. You can’t lie and I do admire that but when someone walks up to me and asks for my respect and to not go after a fed and treat the enemy like family. I expected a little more... well truth on your part.” Scott stated as he glanced over at Thomas, “Now between you and me I know I’m not my brother but I’m far from stupid and this stunt today doesn’t go well in my trust book. It also breaks my agreement with Voight because you brought the fed into my house.” Scott added as he pointed over toward Thomas.
“Now you tell me Marilyn, why should I trust a word you say? Here to trick or trap me sure I can believe it but why do this?” Scott asked before he glared at Thomas. “And really, a new dock worker... can’t you feds think of something a little more original? Criminals are allegedly either stupid or smart but then a fed tries a stunt like this and expects to live? Really? You’re boss needs better agents my friend.” Scott knew better than to wave a gun around when dealing with the federal anything but still he was hurt at her attempt to pull whatever con she had going.
Scott knew his people and a new face he was unaware of raised every single red flag in the book to him. One small thing and he knew something was off, followed by the appearance of Marilyn he could only assume it was the fed boyfriend trying to watch her back though really it was either the nicest gesture going or the most stupid stunt pulled.

Thomas almost wanted to question Sharon’s sanity when she said she had no interest in putting him in a cell. Maybe she didnt but he surely did, he wasnt getting shot by two idiots and leaving it at that. Scott was to blame not just for that but for what had happened to Sharon, everything that had happened and she didnt have an interest in putting him in jail. Thomas had an interest in making the man pay for everything and in that moment he honestly didnt care how that happened.
It was like listening to what someone thought from the outside when Sharon spoke about his job title. FBI agent, it covered what he did for the under cover work but there wasn’t a title for that it was just part of his job as an agent and that was it. Thomas was still understanding the ins and outs of Sharon’s life before he knew her and the mafia had a lot of paperwork attached to it he was trying to get through without raising any red flags for anyone. Hell even being there he was sure Debra would kill him for but then he was trying to look out for Sharon and make sure she was safe.
It was his to do and he wasnt about to trust that to a surveillance team or another agent. Scott stood and listened as things seemed to be going okay, no guns or death threats just yet which given who they were dealing with had to be positive. That was until Scott mentioned a fed and he could feel himself tense though he still appeared relaxed as he swiped the pen across the paper marking off another few boxes from the list he was holding.
When Thomas looked up and saw Scott glaring at him he knew better than to try and lie his way out of it. It wasnt like his quickly put together cover was supposed to last, it had gotten him in the gate and he was there with Sharon who he was there to protect. Job done. “She didn’t know anything about it.” Thomas said knowing that if she did there wasnt any chance Sharon wasn’t going to give the game away. She couldn’t lie and everyone knew it which was why she hadn’t a clue he was there.
Until now of course as he didnt dare look her way at all. “Got me in the front door didnt it, thought there would be more security but hey... not my criminal empire.” Thomas snapped as he moved over a little closer to Sharon knowing he had the gun tucked in his waist band at the back but he knew better to reach for it before it was needed. Thomas had to glance at Sharon as he wanted to know what she was thinking or at least looking to do as his eyes marked every exit and person there. He didnt need her to put herself in harm’s way to ask for his safety he could watch his own back as well as hers. It would be nice not to but then Thomas wasn’t expecting any mercy from a mafia boss.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | Sharon took a breath and kept herself her calm. “You know I can’t lie. So what makes you think I would even try?” Sharon quirked a brow at her ex’s brother. Maybe her dad had been right, maybe this idea had been her worst idea to date. Though she had to try and that’s exactly what she was going to keep on doing.
When Scott went on about what Voight might do for her, she made no emotional change to her face. He wasn’t going to get to her like he did last time. It took way more than just a badge and handcuffs for Sharon to trust anyone. It had taken her long enough to trust Thomas after what Mark did to her. “It takes more than those things and you know it.” Sharon stated simply. There was no sense in saying it was Mark’s fault. She was trying to avoid as much conversation about Mark as possible.
“What are you talking about?” Sharon had a very confused expression on her face and it was genuine. What fed and where? “I have never lied to you and I’m not about to start…” Then she saw where he was pointing. Then Thomas had to go and shoot his mouth off. Sharon took a breath.
Now was not the time to fight with Thomas over this. In fact, Sharon tried to ignore Thomas best she could. “I can keep a certain fed out Scott. That’s a promise. But this has to stop.” She’d given the family her loyalty until they had turned their back on her. It wasn’t until Mark and Galacio’s treatment of her, that she had turned on the family.

Scott just stared at her with a disbelief, was she honestly trying to make out she couldnt lie when he knew what was going on? Really had the CPD taught her this well he wondered? “Because the words coming out of your mouth say you are lying right now. Unless you really are in the dark and that Marilyn isn’t like you at all.” Scott replied having never thought his sister in law was the sort to actually be kept in the dark about anything. Marilyn was the smart one, sure he never told her as much but he had an admiration for what she had done or tried to do.
“Do I? How can I even say I know you anymore because of what you’ve done?” Scott asked her, valid in his head as she had tried to bring down the family business and she was the reason he was stuck in the job in the first place. Not his choice of career but then it wasnt like he had much of a choice anymore other than trying to kill the fed for sport or keep Marilyn on her toes but that had backfired when the shiny gold tin badge guy took a bullet.
Scott gave Sharon the most sarcastic, ‘I told you so’ look he could manage as Thomas started to shout out about whatever the fed was acutally saying. “Oh so this isn’t a conspiracy between the two of you or has this wonderful relationship gone sour today?” Scott asked smirking at Thomas and then Sharon. “You’re only in the front door because we let you in. Any other fed and they would have been drinking water from the ocean by now.” Scott replied though he glanced at Sharon. “You and that are actually an item? And here I thought you had taste after my brother passed, more fool me it seems but then again I’m back to the shiny tin badge and cuffs.”
Scott gave a look to Sharon. “What has to stop? I’ve done nothing wrong by you Marilyn and you bring a fed into my house. That is an act of war against the family and you expect me to make it all stop?” Scott said almost surprised she would entertain the idea at all. “But just one fed out of my hair would be a good start, also I want the rest of the fed in Chicago out of my business too. I’ve got PD covered to federal shouldn’t be an issue since your dating one.” Scott stated in more of a demanding tone. “We live in... peace for the most part and no cop or fed comes near this family.” Scott added deciding it was a fair trade off.

The longer Thomas stood there and listened to Scott the more he thought a few years jail time for taking him out would be worth every day in the place. A stupid idea was looking more and more like the master plan to him as he watched Sharon and Scott talk, why was the man such an idiot and why was Sharon even there trying to talk to a crazy person. When Scott spoke about the ocean he wanted just to end the conversation.
Not just for his own sanity but for the fact he wasnt having any other agent being threatened. Much like CPD was family so was the FBI and the force that would sweep Chicago if any fed was hurt or killed would be like no other. Thomas looked at Sharon, surely Hank had a good enough deal with Scott not to involve the feds either. “I can look after myself Marilyn.” Thomas said deciding the use of her first name now was a bad idea.
“You don’t have to make any deal with him, we’ve got your back.” Thomas added knowing that he would be there no matter what was going on. Hank would too and if it meant a joint protection thing between the two then Thomas was willing to do all he could. In his mind it was like making a deal with the devil, someone was going to come off worse and having a Mafia run un checked in Chicago, it would be every other agency that came after the mafia than the CPD and FBI. There were few he knew to call but Sharon doing this, no it was a bad idea in his head.
Thomas stayed silent when Scott questioned what Sharon was doing with him, it was grounds enough for him to want the guy more dead than dead but he waited to hear what Sharon’s thoughts were on the deal. More so that he wanted to be there just in case there was an issue which he could see there being more and more as the seconds ticked by.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | Sharon wasn’t the one in the dark. Clearly Thomas hadn’t come out. If Scott was trying to break her down again, she was stronger than the last time she’d come across him. She’d not have done this if she wasn’t in the mental state for it. “I have no control over other federal agencies.” That was partially truth. The Marshalls weren’t exactly interested in what Scott was doing anyway. Not until one of their own had been the target at least.
When Scott started berating Thomas all she could do was hold her tongue but she wasn’t impressed. At least Thomas was protecting her. As much as she didn’t want him to be here. Hearing Thomas call her Marilyn was strange but she didn’t falter. That was technically her name after all. “I didn’t bring him in here. He came in on his own.” She still wasn’t sure how Thomas had gotten in. “I’m not stupid. I know who that bullet was intended for. That breaks your deal with Voight.” She was making him well aware that she was aware of it and now Thomas was too.
“I’m giving you a second chance to make things right. I have contacts Scott; but I am only willing to negotiate if this ends here. I gave this family loyalty until it broke me. You were always the decent one; maybe if things had been different I would still be here.” She decided she would explain herself and probably piss off Thomas in the process but oh well. “Maybe if Galacio hadn’t thought so highly of the wrong brother, then things would be different. I’ve only turned my back on those who have betrayed me. Don’t join those who have.” Sharon was being honest, and it was probably going to dig a bigger hole.

Scott smiled glad to see that finally Marilyn had become a lot stronger than she had been previously. He wondered how long it would take her to come back fighting and despite the fact he still considered her on the wrong side of things. Scott was glad to finally see her stronger as his brother had been a brutal arse towards her and Galacio was much worse though she seemed to be fixing that piece by piece. “Well it was worth a try Marilyn, you never know how much you can influence these days.” Scott said with a twisted grin.
Annoying the fed was well a sport all to itself and the idiot was falling for it left right and centre. “Well who brought who to the dance is immaterial now.” Scott said as he shrugged and shook his head. “That bullet wasn’t mind Marilyn, who it was meant for is beyond my knowledge as my house is in perfect working order. Those who go out on their own I cannot stop however I believe they are in CPD custody so you can guarantee that I’m going nowhere near whoever these idiots are.” Scott replied as he knew that it had broken the deal with Voight but he wasnt there to shout at him about it.
Listening to her talk about him being the decent one it almost made him laugh, he was fighting that point with a certain paramedic but he still wasnt sure the outcome of it all. Could a killer ever be decent? Well given his brothers attempt yeah Scott was an absolute saint. Then came those words not to join in the betrayal of her, Scott didnt feel much in life but that, it hurt. “You think I’d betray family?” Scott asked her, “I’m doing what I can with the family I have left over here and that is because of you Marilyn. Galacio could never see the long game and Mark was the favourite. I’m from the different side of the family, brought up away from this and ended up here anyway.” Scott said as if she didnt know what had happened.
“Things can’t change and yes there might have been a time when I wished they had but you made your choices as I made mine.” Scott said still not sure they would have both been there if the different choices had been made but still it was just another idea. “Now this chance though I don’t need it because those were not my guys. What do I get from this deal in adding into our little pact the feds?” Scott asked wanting to make sure it was worth it whatever deal was made.

Thomas didnt want Sharon to be there talking to the guy but that had changed the minute she had gone ahead with it anyway. His cover had been a rush job and one that hadn’t stood up but at least he wasnt dead yet he thought, small mercy but still he wanted Sharon as far away from this mess as he could get her. He could only imagine what Hank would do if he knew she was even there talking to Scott.
“I came to protect her, surely if you’ve any shred of humanity you can understand that.” Thomas said glaring at Scott, his motives were clear it wasnt to bring down the Mafia as nice as that would be and it wasnt to parade in front of the guy with Sharon there either. No he was there to make sure Sharon lived by any means and it was one thing Thomas wasnt going to forgive, trying to take a shot at Sharon wasnt acceptable. He was fair game and he was okay with that but Sharon, no there was a truce in place for a reason.
Then as if things couldnt get any stranger for him, Thomas was stood listening to Sharon say what a decent guy this idiot was? Really since when was killing people a decent thing to do? No he had to be quiet before he got himself shot let alone anyone else in there. Then came the ‘if thing had been different’ and he wasnt sure what either of them were getting at or at least he could contemplate a different life without having Sharon in it. Thomas simply gave Sharon a look that just about said everything it had to about what she had said, a seriously mixed with a how could you say that followed by an am I really hearing this.
It about summed up what he felt about the situation. “Marilyn, do you really think he will do you a deal? He tried to kill you.” Thomas protested wanting to strangle Scott himself for the pain and hospital and rehab he had to do all for a bullet wound. Yes he had a right to strangle him but not make a deal with the guy who was aiming for Sharon.

[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged notes -- | One thing Sharon had always been good at, was telling when someone lied to her. Scott was lying through his teeth. It might not be his bullet but he ordered that bullet. It didn’t bother her that it was meant for her, she was more pissed off that it had hit Thomas. She was going to be sure to bring this information to her dad. Though she was hardly going to tell that to Scott.
“The deal is already on the table. Take it or leave it.” She replied firmly. No, she wasn’t going to give him anything more. She wasn’t about to let him run unchecked in Chicago. FBI wasn’t the only agency in Chicago. Sharon wasn’t stupid. Thomas’ worries were mostly unfounded, so she more or less just turned around and gave him a look to shut up.
She caught Thomas’ look. Though she didn’t return one. She’d explain later. Thomas took too much at face value. It was half the reason she’d come without him. Though yet here he was. Sharon looked towards Scott. “Family for Family Scott. Stay away.” She replied before she took a few steps back. It was clear the conversation was over as far as she was concerned. |

Scott couldnt help but laugh at Thomas, humanity? Had the man forgotten what he did for a living? Sure yes it was all alleged at this point, no proof and so on but that didnt mean it wasnt true. For a fed he was surely out of his depth with this. It was why he was talking to Marilyn, at least she knew who he was. What he did and that this wasnt exactly his choice. Not that he would have ever got into the specifics of it all but as she had said, perhaps another life and things might have been different.
Mark could have had the family business and he might have been able to get Marilyn out of it all but he doubted her father would have liked it. “Then Marilyn, I take the deal. You’re off my radar and so is that idiot too.” Scott stated, it was a decent enough deal after all he had other things to worry about now. Like keeping the family bloodline alive which came down to two very stubborn people one of whom was around somewhere though now was not the time.
Seeing the look Marilyn gave the fed he laughed again, honestly those two were like watching a sports channel. Scott watched Marilyn take a few steps back as he nodded to her. “Family for Family. I won’t interfere anymore.” He said as he glanced back at her. “Remember Marilyn, family for family and you’re still family. Anything you need, you know where we are.” Scott added smiling genuinely deciding that if he wasn’t allowed to touch her then no one was, after all family was family and that meant something to Scott.
He wasn’t entirely sure she would ever come to his door and ask for anything but he at least wanted her to feel that if things went south on the straight and narrow. She could come back without the fed, or if things went seriously wrong. He would gladly introduce the fed to the fishes in Chicago.
