all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Jamie wasn't one to usually forget things; but in this instance it was early in the morning and she hadn't counted on Jay having a dog. Her husband didn't like dogs or cats but Jamie didn't have an issue with them. Her allergies, however, had an issue with the German shepard. With eyes swollen up and a stuffy nose she hadn't been able to get to sleep. Three in the morning was not the time to decided she needed to take care of the issue, she'd been fine earlier in the day. So she got dressed and tiptoed to the front door. Now Jay had given her an alarm code but she was too stuffy headed to remember it clearly. She punched in a few numbers that she thought had been what he said but then opened the door. The alarm started blaring and she was trying to push buttons to stop it from waking up Jay. At this rate, it was going to be one hell of a week. @jayhalstead

The blaring sound shattered the silence of the night and Jay stirred groggily. The hell? Are we being invaded? he thought to himself. Then what the sound actually was hit him: the alarm. The house alarm had been activated. Why's it going off? he wondered as Rinty started to bark. "Quiet," he commanded firmly but not meanly. He needed to think. He got out of bed, grabbing a shirt to go with the sweatpants he was wearing and headed for the door. When Rinty started to follow, he shook his head. "Stay," he commanded in the same tone and then headed for the front door. Once there, he punched in the code and moments later, the alarm stopped blaring. Oh thank God, he thought to himself. It had been giving him a headache.
He then turned to Jamie. "What is it? What's wrong?" he asked. Why was she trying to leave? Not that she was a prisoner of course, but why had she felt that she had had to try to sneak out? It didn't make any sense. Had something happened that she wasn't telling them? And if so, why didn't she feel that she could trust him? Okay, he had to stop jumping to conclusions here.

Jamie was trying to fumble with the alarm code when Jay came out of the house. She sneezed and rubbed her eyes looking towards him when he addressed her. He was one of those over worried people wasn’t he? She was only vaguely familiar with Jay from being in and out of the precinct but she’d never spent very much time with him. “Yeah. I just needed to go to the store.” She replied with a smile as best that she could muster. Though her eyes were half swollen shut and she was sniffling. Ugh, animal fur. There wasn’t much more that she could do other than get meds for her allergies. “I forgot the code.” She was frustrated at herself for not remembering. It had to be the allergies playing with her head. Great, forget an alarm code and get to sit here and play twenty questions. She kept the words to herself, a harder task than many realized. @jayhalstead

Jay nodded as Jamie said that she needed to go to the store. "Okay," he said. Why wouldn't she tell me if she needed to go to the store? he wondered and then took in Jamie's body language. She looked like a wreck and she was sneezing. "Oh crap. You're allergic to dogs. Damn it. I'm sorry. You should've let me know. I would've had someone take Rinty in or put him in a kennel," he apologized. Damn, she must think I'm a jackass, he thought to himself. And why not? He had let his dog roam around and leave his fur and dander all over the place. Jamie was probably in hell right now trying to breathe. Hate that she didn't think that she could tell me this, he thought to himself. Did he really come across as that much of a bear? He had always thought he was pretty easy going when not on duty, but apparently not.
When admitted to forgetting the code, he gave her a sympathetic smile. "Hey, no worries," he assured her. Stuff like that happened. It was unfortunate, but it wasn't the end of the world. It wasn't like he had the easiest code in the world to remember, and while he had done that deliberately, he could see how someone could forget it when it was late at night and the alarm started blaring at you.
