The woman got food, "The more cheese the better, my gramma used to make the best lasagna I've ever had, said it was the easiest thing to make when she was feeding a herd of kids." his mom had the recipe, he'd made another mental note to call his mom and ask for the recipe. "Maybe if we leave enough hints around we can get whoever cooking to make some, only downside is if that person happens to be my sister. We might be better off ordering pizza if that was the case..." Stephanies cooking was questionable at times, it was a good thing that she had Ben, though he did not know the extent of his cooking abilities. "I usually save my big meals for when I get off work, hence the snacks, easier to grab and go because we never seem to get a break sometimes." Peter sighed, "But food isn't what occupies all of my thoughts, what about you Casey, newly wed, got any kids, the four legged ones count just as much as the two legged ones." he added.

“Well give how many Harris’ kids there are I bet her lasagne is great and yeah feeding herds, well all the better for it.” She said smiling; Gabby just had her and her brother to worry about and sure a few of the neighbourhood kids that came around now and again. Big dinners were a thing she never really had, family consisted of her parents and her brother though she would never have changed it.
Gabby winced when he said they might be better ordering pizza. “Okay to the action plan is to cover the kitchen with lasagne post it notes and distract your sister so she doesn’t see a single one? Or we just lay the ingredients out and hope for the best?” She offered not sure how subtle the hints needed to be for their desired dish for the day. Gabby could cook but then she rarely had time to practice, her off days were usually spent catching up on what she had forgotten to do or was unable to do on shift.
“You make a point; maybe I should try the snacking and then just get something after shift. Least that’s my new excuse for a diet of chocolate and ice cream.” She said with a grin, not that she needed an excuse but in case anyone asked her ‘she never got a break some days’ was a good enough one for her to use at least twice a week. “Foods a good thing to occupy though no kids and no four legged ones either, I do have one with fins though, goldie gold fish not exactly out there but manageable. No time for pets with this job so it’s just the house dog but maybe one day I’d like a golden retriever or a Labrador maybe a cat but I’m not sure we’d get along. What you about you Harris? Kids or four legged ones?” She asked curiously.

“Yeah you have a point, I’ve seen and thankfully lived through a few of the cooking attempts in here.” She said with a grin, “Better to live to fight another day than trust in health and safety for no food poisoning.” Gabby enjoyed cooking when she had time but like always time was the factor that got away from her. After shift she was too tired to bother and on her off days it depended if she had time to go shopping for food as it was one of those things that until you woke up the next day to find no milk. It was a fifty fifty chance as to what she might have in the house at one time.
“Wait, twenty pounds worth of a forest cat. Seriously?” Gabby said as she measured how big the cat might be by waving her hands around a little. To her it was practically the size of a fox or maybe she was thinking of something else. “I don’t think I would argue much with not letting Jack outside.” Gabby said not wanting to think of what you would go home to if the cat was upset with being locked in all day.
“Fair, being an uncle or aunt is great. You get to have all the fun and good parts of kids before you hand them back to their parents when the tantrums start. Feed them sugar and given them back before the sugar rush kicks in too much.” Gabby said grinning, she had a niece and nephew herself and they were fantastic she was just glad that her brother had all the tough stuff to do with them while she got the zoo visits and babysitting duty which was easy done.

"The thing about doing that to your siblings kids, is that they are more than likely to get you back in one way or another. Either it be now or later." he added. Gabby’s eyes widened slightly when she saw Peter make an even bigger size of a cat. Nope she was sure that was a dog or a lion at that. “Heavier than twenty pounds... glad you have one under that size but are you sure it’s not a dog in disguise? I’ve heard they can be pretty clever when they need to be.” Gabby said chuckling as she imagined the cat was like a small child or well not that small if she was entirely honest.
Smiling when Peter laughed it was nice to hear and he must have nieces and nephews too because she figured that he knew exactly what she was talking about. It was like teaching them all the bad things in life, funny songs, squeaking elephants to annoy any parent and the words ‘all the sweets you want’ were uttered probably more than they should have been when her niece and nephew visited.
“Yeah but then with kids I’m sure they’ll forget and have other things to deal with. Like scraping them off the ceiling when aunty Gabby gives them syrup on pancakes or washing the paint out of everything if we decided to do art class that day. Parents, they are busy people.” He said with a grin though he had a good point. “But point taken, revenge can be taken and I’d rather steer clear of that.” She added thoughtfully.

"I am still trying to figure out how to get back my siblings for partially shaving my eyebrows off one summer, so far nothing has worked...well I have not tried anything yet." that was mostly due to the fact that James and Steph would probably kill him while they were asleep, and meg would wake up and murder him. “Okay cutting dolls heads off your favourite toys isn’t petty, it’s an act of war declared between siblings.” Gabby stated grinning at Peter, oh if Antonio so much as came near her stuff for four weeks after that event she had screamed and their parents came running. “But you have a point, petty and stupid usually.” She added as in hindsight there were a lot worse things that could be done.
“Wait, what you let them partially shave your eyebrows off?” Gabby asked smirking, “Do tell that story and I’m sure we can work something out here for Stephanie if you wanted?” Gabby was the one for jokes, yes he had landed Severide and Casey in trouble when they had glued everything in Boden’s office to his desk, yes new candidates were often pranked and sure even the older ones too.
“Oh I will remember that one, tip for you if marker or felt pen get’s on walls. Glue the wall and paint over it several times, eventually it will disappear. Then again never give kids marker pens or felt pens either, safer that way.” She stated grinning at him, “So when did you learn these skills?” Gabby asked wondering at what point Peter had learned about kids or at least ways to fix the little mishaps that went along with them.

I did not let them do anything, they took advantage of the fact that I was going to be asleep for the next several hours." that had been one hell of a hangover to wake up to, but luckily his siblings had been nice and they all went to breakfast, minus his eyebrows. “So when did you learn these skills?” Peter walked over to the table and pulled out an empty chair across the table from Gabby. “Ouch those siblings of yours seem like harsh house mates to have. Shots are one thing but losing your eyebrows.” Gabby held onto her own for a moment before she laughed. “You know I thought Steph was good, but now... now I think she rocks.” Gabby could only imagine the hangover and then finding no eye brows that had to be a harsh life lesson learned. She guessed she was lucky that Antonio had been lacking in ideas for that department or she would be serving life for murder if he even thought about it.
Gabby smiled when he pulled out an empty chair across the table from her. “You the good angelic kid? Now those are two words in a sentence I never thought I would hear together.” She teased as he nodded, “Your mum sounds like she knows all the tricks and nine siblings I bet you learned a lot of things fast. My main lesson was to never get caught holding the offensive paint brush, scissors or well anything. If it was in my brother’s hand then it was all his fault and with this angelic face.” She explained as she pulled her best pout.
“No one was going to argue with the world’s best daughter that my brother didn’t cut all the curtains or crayon on the carpet or spread flour all over the house. Boys will be boys.” She said with a sigh and then a grin.

“All due respect to you Peter and I’m sure you’re not one of the dumb ones but yeah, it pretty much works out that way. Boys are dumb and they are designed to hurt girls feelings too by being like that.” Gabby said grinning for a moment, she had more than enough experience on the level of what not to say to a girl and how a guy could think one thing and give someone the completely wrong impression.
Still she was hardly one for not being dumb, there had been plenty of choices in her life that she would consider dumb and more often than not. Fire house related ones too so it could work both ways she was sure. Gabby laughed as she nodded and batted her eyes at him for a moment. “Aww glad you think so, and sure we do. If you boys had the cute and what not down then you’d get away with it too. Just so much easier to blame you guys for everything.” Gabby said as she laughed. “Besides looking cute takes a lot of work so girls deserve to get away with a few things here and there.” She added smiling sweetly at him.
