[attr="class","tomhov"] TAGOpen NOTES Stephanie pulled the trigger. She could see the chaos going on around her. The shoulder wound throbbing as she rose from her bunk in the firehouse. Careful not to wake anyone she went outside. Rubbing her face as she realized that sleep wasn't going to come. Stephanie planted herself in her car face down on the seat and cried. That was just what she did. Cried when no one was looking, tried to be the strong one. Anger crossed her emotional tornado and right now was really not the time to be anywhere near her but she wasn't exactly completely in the car. Her door was wide open greeting the street.
Stephanie had done some dumb things but this was one of those just not thinking moments for her. She pulled her gun out of her glove compartment. When she was angry she went to shooting ranges but there was none close by. Taking all the ammunition out of it (including the one in the chamber) she made sure it was completely empty before strangling the trigger with her index finger.
Angry and the feeling of insecurity didn't mix well for her. Gun still in hand she curled her head up over top her arm. The firehouse was asleep, there was no point in waking anyone up to bother them. She glanced at the clock it was nearing one in the morning.

Chloe hadn't been sleeping well at all the past few weeks, and she had just been staring at the ceiling anyway so she heard Stephanie tossing at turning on her bunk and truthfully when she had gotten up off of her bunk Stephanie hadn't really been very quiet. Apparently everyone else in the firehouse slept like logs because Chloe didn't hear anyone else stirring yet, she honestly figured that someone else would have gone looking for Stephanie.
Stephanie scared Chloe, there was no other way to say it. Chloe really liked the woman, and respected her more than Stephanie would ever know...but the thought of having a conversation with her terrified Chloe. She had been gone for a few minutes before Chloe's curiosity got the best of her, and since no one else was going out to check on Stephanie she quietly got up pulled on her boots and hoodie before quietly proceeding out the doors.
At first Chloe didn't see anyone or anything, but the further she walked out in the parking lot she could see the interior lights on in a vehicle parked in the street. She continued walking closer to what turned out to be Stephanie's truck, and noticed that the driver's side door was swung open out into the street. Getting even more worried when at first she didn't see Stephanie anywhere near the vehicle she started walking a little faster. When she got closer she could see Stephanie laying halfway in and halfway out of her truck. Not wanting to startle the other woman, but also not thinking that it was safe to leave her the way she was Chloe spoke quietly, as she stood next to the open door, "Uhm...Stephanie? Are you ok in there?"

[attr="class","tomhov"] TAG@chloe NOTES Stephanie was stuck in her own head. The memories making her feel helpless. The images of what happened in Bulgaria were as crisp as they could be. The faces running through her head. The shoulder wound and the knife marks. She wasn't even sure she could discern friend from foe in her head right now. Hand gripped more on the gun. Curling around its handle securely. Her knuckles turning white.
The voice was heard first but Stephanie didn't recognize it. Looking around she didn't even see a person. Chloe had come out of her blind spot and hiding behind the door did the blonde no favors. Stephanie raised the gun and hand still clamped around it. The unloaded gun dropped to the ground as Stephanie saw the open door. Then she took off running. Stephanie was not really in the reality that others saw right now.
Stephanie was quick. Without looking for traffic, she crossed the road again. Horns beeping as she ran out in front of a small honda. The car slid to a halt. Gasping Stephanie took off and climbed the ladder that was still out from drills earlier. Though she moved it to be able to reach higher. The latter clattered and if she hadn't been loud before in the firehouse she was being really loud now.
Feet pounded the roof in rapid succession as she moved to the highest part of the building. Laying down and falling back on her instincts. Low where it was hard to see her, but high enough to see everything. Though she buried her head and took deep anxious breathes. Stephanie was scared but not willing to admit it, Angry but not willing to face it. Not in reality but unable to realize it. The roof was about as safe as it got, from her stand point.
THIS THREAD IS STILL OPEN FOR ANYONE AT THE FIREHOUSE OR THAT SOMEONE AT THE FIREHOUSE MAY CALL.

Chloe had no idea what to do with Stephanie, she'd never seen her like this and it seemed that everything was happening in a blur the fact that there had been a gun involved scared her even more. She watched Stephanie run across the street and kept her eyes on her making sure that she didn't get hit by a passing car and then so she would at least have some idea where she went. As she saw her set up the ladder and climb up on the roof, she sighed and bent down to pick up the dropped gun carefully making sure it was unloaded before she put it back in the vehicle shoving it under the seat and shutting the driver's side door. 'Should have just stayed in bed' she thought to herself as she carefully crossed the street and slowly walked over to the ladder. She stood at the foot of the ladder looking up and fought with herself over what her next move should be, sadly she knew she wasn't going to be the one climbing up the ladder to talk to Stephanie. As much as she might want to help, her fear of heights would be enough to keep her from climbing up there. Chloe stood there for a few minutes trying to decide who she should wake, and decided to head in the station and start with Ben. She figured if anyone would know what was going on with Steph and how to fix it would be her husband. Chloe opened the front door to the station and walked through the bays towards the bunkroom. She noticed a few other people were awake and stirring now and they eyed her suspiciously as she walked back in. Geez, it wasn't like she was the one who had been making all the racket at this time of morning. She looked around to see who all was awake and to try and figure out where Ben was. OOC: Thread is still very much open for anyone who is at the firehouse and got woken up by Steph being loud on the roof. Tag: Benjamin Taylor , Wallace Boden

Up was not up and down was not down. The gunfire in her head and the angry voice. 'Who is he? Who is he? You think we are stupid?' Stephanie inwardly cringed. The pain memory in her shoulder, the cold roof top not enough to burn off the heating sensation she felt. Soon she was walking across it's flat top. Pacing. Her mind was lost in her head. She wavered near the roof edge and that's when she lost her balance slipping down to the ground.
Reaching up for the edge of the roof she was still falling. The fall into the bushes softened her fall but didn't keep her ankle from snapping. Stephanie gritted her teeth. The pain from the snapped ankle and she was out of her head. Out of her head and lost in the pain that was being injured. Stephanie rolled onto her side, the bushes were NOT comfortable and poked at her side. The scratches from the boxwood bush went unnoticed. She didn't roll very far. She was in visible pain.

Ben was a sound sleeper; well usually he was until people started waking up which in turn woke him up slightly. Well enough for him to raise his head and look around for the source of the noise. “Don’t people care that it’s vampire time?” He grumbled, if they got a call and he had no sleep he was going to regret it. Ben was the kind who in a morning was bright and breezy, the kind of person that never needed a cup of coffee to be hyper at five in the morning. The reverse to that was at night he was tired and grumpy and the sort who bunked down at ten in the evening because that was his genius over for the day. Perfect it was not, did it help in a fire house? Not really given the noise be he was usually safe with the idea that the next day was all his to come around back to the land of the living without too much trouble. Blinking a few times as he yawned he looked around for Stephanie, he knew she hardly slept or at least had a solid few hours but when he was unable to see her he shook his head. Probably just lack of sleep he thought as he looked at Chloe for a moment. “Everything okay?” He asked her still trying to wake up fully as he pulled on his boots and took what seemed to be forever to tie just one shoe lace. He was too tired to focus much though slowly he was coming around to the land of the living. Slowly but surely for now at least, he half expected to hear the alarm of blaring sirens of the ambulance or fire engines but there was nothing. Stephanie Taylor, @hcassell9978, Wallace Boden,

The traffic horns caught Wallace’s attention, he was used to that sound when the trucks pulled up blocking a street and caused an inconvenience to everyone around them or at least that was until they were pulling people out of buildings or situations. He put it down to the crazy Chicago driving or ambulance fifty eight going by. Wallace was in his office trying to make a jump on a few piles of paperwork while sleep seemed to be a long way off. He just had the desk lamp on when he caught sight of a figure walking into the bunks. Great who was up and about at this time he wondered as he flicked the switch to the light grabbed his jacket and headed to the bunks to see what was going on in the house. People were awake and stirring which given the hour was odd since there wasn’t a call to go on or a siren to deal with. Wallace watched Chloe for a moment as he heard Ben talk about vampires and sleep. How the man managed to be a fire fighter when sleep seemed to be more his style. The fire department wasn’t exactly the best field of work to be in if sleep meant so much though he lingered by the door waiting to see what Chloe had to say and why everyone was now coming around from whatever sleep they had managed to get. It was the one thing he had struggled with in the beginning but now it was second nature to hear a sound and wake up, anything at all and he was awake as if a siren had gone off ready to run jump or do whatever it was that needed to be done in the mean time. Chloe looked at Ben like he had completely lost his mind when he started mumbling about vampires. She heard someone walk up and saw the Chief standing there and figured that now would be as good a time as any, so she spit it out all at once. "Uhm... Stephanie is on the roof. I have no idea why, and I'll tell the rest of the story later but I think someone really needs to figure out what's going on with her and get her off the roof before she hurts herself." Chloe figured that it was more important to get that bit of information out there, the rest could wait. She knew there would be questions but she wanted to focus on the most important thing right then and that was making sure Steph was safe. Chloe wasn't by nature a very patient person so as soon as she had said what she needed to say she waited just a short time to see what the others were doing before turning to head back outside to make sure that Steph was still ok. When she walked out the door and couldn't see her on the roof anymore she called her names a couple times trying to locate her. She started walking around the building to see if she was on the back side somewhere. She walked past a bush and jumped when the bush started moving suddenly. She turned to look closer and could see Stephanie and could tell she was hurting. "Hey... over here! She's hurt and I can't get close enough to tell where at this point." She yelled to the others. Turning to Stephanie she quietly said, "Stephanie, it's Chloe... Where are you hurt? I want to help. What happened?" She tried to work her way through the bush so she could get closer to Steph to see what was going on with her. Tag@ Stephanie Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Wallace Boden,

Stephanie hated paramedics touching her. It was a personal tick of hers. Hearing Chloe's voice she wanted to snap at the woman to go find Steven, but she knew better. There was never telling what paramedic turned up at the house and Stephanie was done keeping track. Then it registered Chloe was calling someone over. "If that's Ben..." It was her attempt at a threat though she seethed as she maneuvered to pull herself up. Everything hurt but she was refusing to use her ankle. "I'm fine. It's just a twisted ankle." Twisted and broken were hardly the same thing but Stephanie was stubborn. One problem: Stephanie didn't remember being on the roof. "I came out to look for something. I need to get back inside before the chief reads me the riot act." Being outside by herself was hardly a smart idea given recent events surrounding the area. Tha gang wars hardly helped matters. With Casey having been shot, she knew the chief was being extra careful. She had done some stupid things in her time. There had been two of these incidents at the house in the last year. One had gotten Ben shot. What was she honestly thinking? Ben was going to kill her if Boden didn't. STEPHANIE TAYLOR HEY NUTCASE! The Chief was stood there, great that was just what they needed he thought, if this was some sort of mid night hazing he was hardly into it because he needed sleep. He glanced at Chloe when she seemed uncertain until the words ‘Stephanie and roof’ hit his ears. Recently he had come to understand a lot more about Stephanie and why she did the things he did but the roof, if she was in one of her states then this was hardly going to go well. With that Ben was up and out of the bunks, he hardly cared what anyone thought this was his wife. He followed Chloe in the yelling of her name as he wondered around the building, if she was on the roof she would be in the middle of it if he was unable to see her. It was a small comfort until he paused for a moment and Chloe said she was over there, in a bush. She was on the roof but now she was in a bush, to get from the roof to there without being seen by the people inside. Ben winced at the thought, had she really just walked off the roof? No that was crazy he thought not wanting to think about the how’s and the why’s right then. Or more to the point right then it was too difficult to think about the how’s and the why’s right at that moment. Ben joined Chloe in fighting their way through the bush to Stephanie. “It’s Ben and I’m right here Stephanie.” He stated not caring right now if she was threatening to kill him he had to make sure that she was alright. Ben looked at Chloe, sure he would take his wife’s word for it once the trained medic had taken a look first. “Chloe, is it just broken?” He asked her as Ben knelt down next to Stephanie where she could see him. Yes Ben was hardly perfect but he was learning things, like never approach without being seen first or it would end very badly. “Stephanie, you were on the roof?” Ben said not sure if she remembered or not but the Chief, yes the cat was out of the bag on that one so far. Ben dare not look around to see where the guy was because given all the events and gang trouble so far being outside of the firehouse in the dark. Not the best idea when people had been hurt before over that. “Can we move her and get her inside?” Ben asked Chloe as he looked around for the Chief for a moment. Given the earlier events Wallace had been stricter about people being outside, alone in the dark without a reason and it had better be a good one at that. Stephanie was on the roof, so help him if anyone argued that the roof was still classed as in the building he would fire them himself without a second thought. Wallace warned the others to stay inside until they knew what was going on, there would be no stopping Taylor he knew that and Chloe was a paramedic which given the situation might be needed.
Wallace had time and patience for everyone but when it came to the safety of his house and family it wore thin fast. He moved the other way around the building at a quick jog keeping his eye on the roof as he went but he saw nothing until he heard Chloe call out that they had found her. Wallace picked up his speed a little as he came back around to see Chloe and Ben fighting their way through a bush. It was the middle of the night and this was happening as he went straight back inside and tore open the door of one of the ambulances.
He grabbed the gurney and placed a couple of the bags on top of it as he wheeled it back out of the door. A person had what jumped off the fire house roof? No this wasnt happening he thought as he wondered about phsyc leave or throwing Brittany at Stephanie to see what she could do for her. Wallace parked up the gurney and pulled the yellow back board off it as he held it waiting for an update. “Talk to me people how bad is it?” He asked keeping an eye out on the surrounding area as he heard Stephanie talk about him reading her the riot act.
Oh that was coming just not when she was lying in a bush after flying off the roof. He did have a heart but it only extended so far when someone had done that. “Time to yell at you later Harris.” He said before he realised his mistake. “We need to get back inside; this isn’t the time to hang around out here. What do you need me to do?” He asked, sure he had his basic first aid but he wasnt a medic at all so he knew what bags to bring, trolley and board but beyond that it was all Chloe.

Chloe looked at Ben when he asked her if it was ok to move her. "I'd really like to get her on the backboard before we move her considering I'm not sure how she landed. It's hard to tell much right now but my guess is that ankle is probably broken, and given the circumstances... I hope that's all that's broken. Will you be able to get a c-collar on her and try to convince her to be still at least until we can get her out of this stupid bush and inside where I can see a little better." Chloe knew Stephanie and Steven were close, and at this point she was wishing that the other medic was here just as much as Stephanie was because she knew the woman didn't trust her. Chloe looked at Stephanie as she said her name a few times to get her attention, "Please just humor me here and don't fight me on this, I'm trying to make sure that we don't hurt you anymore when we move you. I can tell you're hurting, and I can make that pain go away once we get back to the ambulance and get on the way to Med for some x-rays." She was gently running her hands over all of Steph's extremities to feel for any obvious breaks or dislocations as well as feel for any bleeding that she couldn't see when she asked her, "Stephanie... other than your ankle are you hurting anywhere? Are you able to wiggle your fingers and toes?" Hearing the Chief ask for an update and what she needed him to do she responded, "It's kind of hard to tell much in this bush but all I've found so far is an ankle that I suspect is broken, but you can come help me get her on the backboard and onto the stretcher to move her inside where I have better light so I can see better and have more room to move." "Ben... Can you do me a favor and feel for any bumps on her head for me? I can't get up there to see and I want to make sure she didn't hit her head. I'll check her pupils once we get inside." Chloe was grumbling under her breath about cutting down this stupid bush when it was over with. "Ok Chief I think we're ready for the backboard. Now when we roll her to get her on this backboard I need us to take a minute so that I can check her back real quick because once we get her on the board we're not taking her off again until the doctor clears her." Stephanie was confused. "Roof? I came outside because I needed to get something." Yeah more like get her head. "I can move Ben. I'm alright." She sat up in the bush and ran her hand through her hair. Stephanie didn't remember anything between leaving to her car and falling off the roof. "I didn't hit my head and my back is fine." She snapped at Chloe. Right now she was fuming. She was confused and hurting and people were jumping to conclusions.
Wiggle fingers and toes? What had blondie ever made it past preschool? "Enough to ball them into a fist and punch you if you don't stop touching me." She hissed yanking her arm away from the woman. Stephanie moved until she sitting up right in the bush keeping her weight off her ankle. The other knee tucked up under her. If anyone was going to fit with a medic it was Stephanie.
She heard something about Boden saying there was would be a lecture later. "What roof are you talking about? Have you all lost your mind?" She had been everywhere but reality when she had practically sleepwalked off the roof. Sighing Stephanie knew that Ben quite possibly understood that she'd been having a nightmare. "Chief, with all due respect I don't know how I ******* got here" Stephanie was worked up and on the verge of panic.
"Ben!" Stephanie was confused and she wasn't exactly calm. Her arms reached up but she didn't move from where she was seated on the bush. Balance was delicate. She shifted weight at her hips to keep herself from tumbling further into the bush. Panic had sunk in. No, she was safe. This was the firehouse. She was safe. Counting in some random pattern she tried to focus. Damn her ankle hurt.

Ben nodded to Chloe, yes convince his wife that was to be still like that always went over well but then again this time she was hardly going to get much of an option in the way of that. However she had managed to get from the roof to the floor she was hurt and that to him was enough to put his protective side on overdrive. Broken ankle, c-collar, those words were work words the ones used in accidents related to victims and not his wife though to reconcile the two, his mind was taking a beating as he decided that there was no other option. When the chief asked for an update Ben bite his lip hard, say nothing he thought debating that the update was Stephanie had fallen, walked or was thrown off the fire house roof and what more did people honestly need to know about that? She was hurt and this was far from normal on any day. “Steph, you were seen on the roof and no you’re not alright.” He stated, Ben was close to telling her that nothing about this was alright but he stopped himself as he shook his head. “You’re not a doctor or a paramedic Steph, sorry but you don’t get to snap at Chloe for doing her job.” He said in defence of the other woman. Not that he felt she was unable to defend herself but he knew Stephanie and how she got around paramedics. He listened to Chloe asking him to feel for any bumps on her head as he nodded. “Yeah sure I can do that.” He said as he ran his fingers through her hair a few times before he started to feel for any bumps on her head, was this ever not going to be an argument later he wondered. “Agreed, no moving until the doc clears her.” He said not caring if it was what the Chief was going to agree to or not. Ben wanted to kick himself, he had been asleep when this had happened. His wife had walked off the roof and he was just sleeping. Ben held onto her arms for a moment knowing that he unable to move her without the board or the help from Chloe and Boden. “Stephanie look at me okay.” He said as he glanced to Chloe for a second. “You’re safe and we’re at the fire house. Chloe is going to take good care of you and Boden and I are going to make sure you both get back inside as soon as possible. Right chief?” Ben asked looking up at Boden before he glanced back to Stephanie. “Just stay still for me okay, I’m right here nothing to worry about.” Yes like letting her walk off the roof when he was sleeping. He figured next shift he was going to keep himself awake the entire time just to make sure she was alright and safe. That was if the chief let this go as just an accident as he wondered what was going through that mans mind. Wallace Boden, @hcassell9978, Stephanie Taylor,

When Steph had threatened to punch her Chloe wanted to throw up her hands in frustration and tell her to do whatever she wanted she was out of there. She hadn't mentioned the fact that she'd had a gun pointed at her already this evening, and hadn't planned on it. Chloe knew that there was something going on with the firefighter and didn't want to make things worse for her. Making sure not to touch her she spoke soothingly, "Stephanie, I know you don't really remember what happened... I heard you leaving the station and followed you to make sure you were ok. I probably should have woken someone else up then instead of later, so that's on me. When I came outside you were leaned into your truck with the door open into traffic. When I approached and spoke to you, I'm pretty sure I scared you, but you took off across traffic and climbed that ladder up onto the roof. I was too big a chicken to follow you, and I'm sure it wouldn't have helped even if I had... so I went inside to find someone I knew could help and when we came back out we found you laying in the bush. So nobody witnessed you fall, we don't know how you landed and unless you can tell me that you remember I would feel better erring on the side of caution and making sure we don't make any injury you have any worse. If you don't want me to touch you, that's fine... I can talk Ben through it and my partner can drive us to the hospital so we can get some X-rays done. I don't think anything other than the ankle is broken but without the pictures we can't be sure. We can skip the backboard though if you like, because you seem to be moving well enough. Will you let Ben carry you inside so we can get back in where it's safe?" Stephanie Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Wallace Boden
