Sylvie heads home after her shift and showers before
changing into the brand new little black dress that she bought just special for
tonight. It wasn’t their anniversary
or anything, but her and Antonio had agreed on a nice date tonight following his
first week at his new job and her first week at a new firehouse. They had both been pretty busy this week
adjusting to new work and new people so they hadn’t had a chance to spend much
time together. The plan was to meet at
Molly’s and go grab dinner somewhere nice and private before coming back to
Molly’s to spend time with the friends they hadn’t seen all week either.
Sylvie walks into Molly’s about a half hour before their
agreed upon meeting time and heads to the bar to have a seat. “Wow kid! You clean up nice.” Says Hermann “But…I
know you didn’t dress up like that for me…What can I get you to drink?”
“Thanks Hermann, I’ll just take a water for right now…I’m
waiting on my date to show up so we can go grab some dinner, but we’ll be back.”
“It’s really good to see you girl, we’ve missed you this
week.”
She’s been sitting at the bar talking to Hermann and the other
guys from 51 for about fifteen minutes when she hears her phone signaling a
text message. She looks to her phone and
sees that Antonio is just now leaving the office and should be there in about
thirty minutes.
Just then a very pretty woman walks in the front door and
starts asking for either Antonio or Gabby.
Sylvie glances at Hermann who shrugs his shoulders. “Ma’am…he’s on his way, should be here in
about thirty minutes….You’re welcome to sit here with me and wait if you’d like…is
there something I can do to help in the meantime?”
The other woman looks her up and down and asks. “And you
are?”
